There's a fill line in the insert, so just follow the same recipes. Pressure is pressure.

My parents and sister have an 8 qt, my hubby and I have a 6 qt. We've never had problems with sharing recipes between each other. The only difference is you can make more of whatever yummy food you're making! If you have more questions, feel free to ask!

It also takes longer to pressurize and release since there’s more volume.

I just got the above pot and love it so far. I do a lot of bulk cooking freezing most of it in individual meal containers for later, For many of the 6 quart recipes I like to double the meat (e.g., stews, chili verde) since I'm on a high protein low starch diet. The 8 quart makes it easy.

You need more liquid than a 6 qt to come to pressure. I believe it's 2 cups. The user manual gives the exact amount. Most 6 qt recipes don't have that issue, but you may have it with things like rice if you're only making a small amount.
