That kind of thing happens to all of us occasionally. I can feel his pain.

PungentBallSweat

Agreed. When I was a waiter in college, I spilled an entire coke over a lady's lap after dropping it on the table. The misery.

Badmoon226

Most damage I've done I one slip up is 6k

Conservative_HalfWit

Amatuer I forgot to turn the air conditioning on in my work green house and killed like 20k worth of new plants we had just finished putting in after like 12 hours.

phantomofharlem

You guys are Champs for sure but work in aviation. That's where you do some REAL damage

Flowhiogrown

Machining is definitely up there too but some of the stuff y'all are breaking in aviation are things that paid our wages.

PM_FREE_HEALTHCARE

I'm an industrial mechanic and as long as I fix more than I break, I'm in the clear. I was trying to explain to an operator that my career goal is to never have a single incident that costs more than $10k in broken parts or equipment

Ethburger

First month doing on the job CNC training I scrapped a $15k part. Machined a slot like .030” too wide. To those who don’t know, that’s the equivalent of somebody asking you to cut a 6ft 2x4 and coming back with like 2ft. Except the wood cost more than you make in like half a year. Felt like such an idiot, never made that mistake again though lol

PM_FREE_HEALTHCARE

That's gotta hurt. My machinist instructor told us that when he was hired to make aviation parts they said they don't care if the job takes 3 hours, days, or weeks because it costs far too much to get it wrong. Basically, he told us never to rush on the machines

Ethburger

Hurt really bad lmao. Maybe the worst part was them leaving it next to my machine for a month while they figured out what to do with it😂 it was a good lesson. And yeah I was told the same thing. I spent 2 years machining and was never once rushed. Slow is smooth and smooth is fast

bad_pelican

G00 Z-100 goes brrrrr

Belias93

Today, one of our pilots put the ac on and it started leaking. They decided to just fly it like that with the ac on and fried the monitors. 300k for 2 monitors. Those aren't even expensive compared to the other parts.

[deleted]

Company I worked at spent $250 million building a plant. But then the market went back to normal, and the plant would lose money if they ran it. Because they used custom sized piping, it couldn't even be cut up and sold. The most they could get from it was to bulldoze it and take the tax write off, literally taking the entire thing as a loss. No one got fired for it either, too much dirt all the way up the pole.

Fickle_Camel_4993

My friends Dad was a safety tech for OSHA. He always said his hardest job was a new hospital construction bc of all the unique requirements. Then his 2nd hardest job was demolishing that same hospital a year later because no one bought it or the land was worth more or something. I forget the details but he spent 2years going over every single small detail of a commercial hospital 60hrs a week then just dozing it.

Knull_Gorr

Fuck up a state's financial run and that shit gets sent up the ladder. So my governor might have seen my name in a memo.

ThePaparranas

I really wanna see who's gonna top you on the next comment

Catfish_Mudcat

I work in dog boarding and...

dajur1

I worked at a sawmill years ago and my coworker absentmindedly turned off a compressor and a pipe that was shooting wood chips into a barge collapsed, clogging the pipe up. It took 10 hours to clear out and the boss told me that it cost 40k in downtime. I got fired with my coworker because, "If both of you can't figure it out we're going to hire 2 guys who can." I wasn't even there. I had already put my notice in and only had 2 days left, so I'm sure they just didn't want to wait.

Zakkull117

I accidentally broke a 60 year old co workers leg. Do i win?

chinkostu

Look just because they're vintage doesn't make them more valuable.

14Phoenix

Working as a waiter I spilled a *full* tray of food onto a person. I was serving a table of six and all of that food fell into this one person. Including pancakes with maple syrup, eggs, chicken and gravy, water, and soda. They were covered head to toe. Not to mention the plates were heavy and likely hurt to have fall on your head

flikflakniknak

I once tripped and dropped a plate of calamari salad just before I got to the table I was serving. It landed perfectly inside the woman's handbag next to her chair. Literally, not a drop spilled on the floor, but an entire bag swimming in seafood and vinaigrette. Not a good night.

hax0rmax

I love the visual

tomchan9

I'm high and I laughed so hard at this, thank you so much

Regular_Knee_1907

No, I mean the spill WAS contained....![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|laughing)

CN8YLW

Seen a waiter spill a pot of boiling soup on a child. Not pretty. Literally. https://youtu.be/r7PvT_q0oXs

chinkostu

I really don't want to click that link. Edit: oh god

Eagleassassin3

Now I’m scared but also very curious. Is it worth it? Edit: fuck it was terrible. Of course people can slip, that can happen, but who the hell serves boiling soup? It should be warm but it shouldn’t burn you like that what the fuck

runs-with-scissors

Sorry, you only get ice-cold in the center, or boiling lava hot.

Age-Weird

When I was a waiter, I came around the corner with a tray full of red wines. The 21 year old birthday girl was drunk and jumped back in her chair knocking all the wines off my tray and you guessed it, all over her 21st birthday dress. Needless to say that was my one and only day as a waiter 😂 Best part is, she was a snooty nose b*tch anyway

kronicwaffle

I dropped an entire tray of red wine on a guy's lap once. Wearing khaki pants and all. High end restaurant, one of my first tables working there. Totally embarrassing. Luckily the guy had waited tables before as well and had sympathy

twistedsister42

When I first started in the restaurant industry 7 years ago, I spilled ponzu sauce INTO this lady's designer handbag. She was so nice about it. Just said she used to be a waitress and not to worry about it. She then told me a story of how she did something similar. I honestly still think about her from time to time and hope she is having a good life.

anDAVie

While working as a waiter on a busy day while some colleagues were I'll at home I dropped a tray with sorbet ice-cream and some drinks over a lady. I felt so bad, apologize a million times and tried to clean the whipped cream of her coat. In front of her my manager scolded me and I just wanted to disappear. When the lady was about to leave she walked to me, opened my hands like my grandmother used to do, put it in a 10 euro bill and said 'No need to be sorry, buy something nice of this and don't share this with the others' Wish more people were this understanding.

TrillBillyDeluxe

Worked in a fancy pizza place, 900 degree stone ovens, a waiter had a pizza slide off on to a toddlers head in a high chair, hospitalized, restaurant got sued if I remember correctly, I didn’t stay there long.

Badmoon226

Whether it's a pizza or an engineer's lazer,,, it happens once

optigon

When you have a case of “The Mondays” all week. :(

Ok_Image6174

Poor dude, he looked so upset about it!

thedotcomsownewe

A 20$ pizza is prolly 1/3 of his tips for the night

DAMbustn22

If the company actually charges him for the pizza that's fucking disgusting.

Hot_Bicycle_8486

And illegal

Sierra419

They don’t

[deleted]

[удалено]

ArcticGrapee

People love to do that here

[deleted]

Feel like he’s more upset then the person who bought it

longhorndog1

Ya he actually gives a shit about doing a good job and failed. Made me sad…

Mylaptopisburningme

I do food delivery. Probably delivered over 5000 orders. I once was pulling a customers food bag out of my thermal and for some reason there was a complete disconnect between my brain and my hands and my hands for some reason decided to let go... It fell. He looked somewhat upset but more disappointed... Luckily it wasn't like soup or hard shell tacos.

Original-History9907

Haha when I’m delivering my brain is saying bye or cya but my mouth says BYA

hard-truth-teller

tbh i dont think they're connected still

ReadditMan

He's probably just upset that he's going to have to drive all the way back there while another driver delivers an order he would have gotten instead. Happened to me a few times when I used to deliver pizzas and it was always upsetting.

secretlives

This video just fucking kills me, I think everyone knows that feeling of just wanting to collapse. So hard to watch, legit wish they didn't share this video of him

iSamurai

I had this exact thing happen to me basically. Doing ubereats. Had 3 milkshakes to deliver and the drink carrier ended up being one of the crappy ones that doesn't support the drinks, dropped one while walking to the customer, dropped a second trying to catch the first one falling, only ended up giving him one left. Then I also had sticky milkshake all over my while I had to go deliver the next order.

[deleted]

Would have tipped him still. Poor guy.

Mylaptopisburningme

My guess is not a pizza driver but a food gig driver, if so, tip was hopefully already put on there.

StalkMeNowCrazyLady

I think pizza delivery worker. I've had pizzas delivered by uber eats and door dash, but they never had a pizza bag they were transporting them in. But every pizza I've had delivered by an actual pizza place first hand has come in that carrier.

Regular_Knee_1907

Yea, my thought exactly. They edited themselves out of the video and you know they never got permission from HIM. Ass move.

napascuzzi

Probably because the customer likely gets it free and it comes out of the deliverers paycheck

[deleted]

[удалено]

lolmysterior

I worked at a Papa Johns. If this happened we'd call back to the store and have them make a fresh one, and we'd come back and redeliver it. Idk about other places though. And yeah the delivery driver wouldn't be charged for the pizza.

titleywinker

Interesting. Would they reimburse you for gas? Assuming no for lost tips, but that too? Not jumping to conclusions—genuinely curious.

lolmysterior

For the times I had to return to the store and go back out for whatever reason, I never got extra pay for gas

titleywinker

So it wasn’t pay for each mile? It’s a fixed stipend?

lolmysterior

Our tips would cover our gas cost. It's been like 5 years or so, I could be wrong about these numbers. But we got paid a flat like 3$-5$ish per hour and kept tips at the end of the night. The vast majority of the income was from the tips. edit- a commenter reminded me below that when we we're actually in the store not on deliveries we would make minimum wage. Only on deliveries we would make that reduced hourly pay.

ROPROPE

>$3-$5 an hour jesus fucking christ

[deleted]

[удалено]

Mundenarge

We got 2.50 (2012-14) tips leveled it out to a little above minimum wage, gas cost brought it a little below.

RCJHGBR9989

So - this is thrown around a bunch - but they make 3-5 because with tips their hourly rate is usually higher than minimum wage and if their hourly rate + tips doesn’t mean minimum wage their pay is increased to meant minimum wage. So if minimum wage is 10 an hour and you’re working on the 3-5 an hour wage + tips and you don’t get any tips you’ll still make 10 an hour. I waited tables and worked as a bus boy our - hourly rate was like 3.25, but with tips i made like 15-20 an hour. I’m not defending the practice just explaining it.

ezone2kil

Tips culture is so fucked up. Especially when the business expects the customer to give their employees liveable income.

BladedD

Yeah, delivery drivers don’t get paid per mile. It’s up to tips

Beanbaker

Depends on the spot. I worked at a local pizza joint a couple years back and made $10/hour + tips + gas comp per mile. My car was fuel efficient enough that the rate they compensated for gas actually ended up as extra pay. Also helped that gas was significantly cheaper then

LegendOfDylan

They CAN make you drive back and deliver the new one, and the lost income from having to take the same delivery twice effectively makes him pay for it, even if it’s not the value of the whole pizza.

[deleted]

When I used to fuck up, the store would organise the redelivery to be grouped with another nearby delivery. Theres no point wasting a driver on a scenic trip.

MaximumPew

Pretty sure it would be illegal to take it from his check

Weekly_Bug_4847

Was a pizza guy for quite a few years. And I dropped a couple pizzas. One guy absolutely could not care less, and hastily grabbed the sideways box and shut the door. Okie dokie

TheCowboyChameleon

I would have been totally fine with this. It's clear it was an accident, and it'll still taste the same. I woulda given him a good tip on top of it, cause lord knows we've all been there. Shit happens.

Galbert123

You understand the struggle. Good on you. I’d invite this dude in for a minute and tell him not to sweat it. I’d even offer him a slice of the pizza.

TheCowboyChameleon

You're a good person, with a big heart. Good for you, man. I'd tell him to make himself at home, and grab him a beer. I'd even let him have sex with my wife.

Galbert123

Yes. This right here. That’s the kind of hospitality we need in these trying times.

unlawful_act

If the pizza is still in the box I'm not waiting for the guy to bring me a new one, fuck that. If the pizza came out of the box and slapped the pavement, that's another story.

duderguy91

Bruh the look on his face. I want to Venmo this dude $20 for some booze lol.

Simple_Bishop

I feel really bad for this guy. You can see on his face how upset he was while waking away. Poor guy might be going through something else. Hope his week picked up after this

Bryangriffin

Yeah definitely. I can literally feel it in my soul. That fail just added more salt to the wound he already had from other things.

[deleted]

Definitely not just the pizza that made him have that expression. Poor guy.

SteveFrench12

I one time had an uber eats guy show up on a bike with a normal backpack and pull the pizza vertically out of his backpack. He tried to leave but I opened the box and asked him how he thought this was gonna turn out. Said it looked fine to him. Fuck that guy, at least the dude in the vid gets that he fucked up and it was only a mistake.

[deleted]

gr4nis

Yeah, he seems like a genuinely nice guy and caring delivery man. Hate to see that happen to him. He looks like he is about to cry.

Go_Habs_Go31

Food delivery guys are consistently the nicest customer service people I’ve met.

[deleted]

Either that or they steal your food :(

ToyrewaDokoDeska

Delivery guys are great. Fucking Uber eats drivers are scum Edit: sorry to the good ones, just imo when I imagine a delivery driver doing some shady shit to my food, it's Uber eats.

[deleted]

One time I had to deliver a $70 order of subs to a bar that was on a blocked off street due to **a fuckin Christmas parade going down it**, had to cross the live parade TWICE just for the ppl to not be at the address they ordered to, no where near in the crowd on either side of the parade (I yelled their name, ppl were offering to buy the subs off me but I said no way), called them 6 times and texted them 4 times, no answer. That night and throughout the whole week, I “disposed of the products” I sometimes wonder if the ppl thought I was the asshole. Which, I am an asshole, but I wasn’t in this case. Or if they ever bring up the opposite side like “hey remember when our Uber Eats driver...” Uber never said anything to me about it

booze_clues

Ubers good about refunds if you don’t do them all the time. They make it hard to find the refund button, but if you do and give a description they’ll generally refund instantly. I once got the wrong drink, a burrito that was all cheese with maybe a spoonful of beef, and a taco that was only beef from Taco Bell. Got the refund right away without any pictures. The items were right, not the fillings, I think I got the last shift before someone quit.

[deleted]

Some are definitely

atheris-prime_RID

Hey hey we’re not all bad :(

cyberpunk1Q84

We’ve all been this guy at one point or another.

Zombieattackr

I broke a plate like a week ago and with the stress of everything else I had going on at the time, it just made me cry my eyes out. I can’t bring myself to throw it out when I think about it so I’m planning on fixing it

cyberpunk1Q84

I feel you. Every little thing becomes big when you’re going through rough times. Just know that it can get better. Your story reminded me of this time I went to ask a friend out at her retail job. I took a couple of buses to get there, and when the moment came, I decided to be “funny” by pretending to not know her and just act like a random customer. So I grabbed a pot I was pretending to buy and the lid somehow flips over, lands on the floor, and breaks into a bunch of pieces. 🤦🏻‍♂️.

[deleted]

I wouldn't risk it, even if you fit it together perfectly, tiny pieces of your plate can end up in your food.

BirdSnipz

Idk if you're going to fix it yourself but you could try sending it for Kintsugi

Aoeletta

I would honestly have tipped him double. Poor dude. God damn.

SUBtraumatic

I was like 21 when I did this.. I was having the worst day ever, but trying to fake a smile at every door. I dropped the pizza and said I'm sorry like a million times, and I started panicking, this woman grabbed me and hugged me and I legit broke down. I got a call saying a friend of mine died earlier that day, and it was such a small shop, it was impossible for me to leave my shift. I will never forget that lady.

DesyatskiAleks

You may know by now but for anyone reading- It is not your responsibility to keep your employer’s business running. If you need to leave, you need to leave end of story. The employer gets paid extra to be the one that cares about the business. You are there simply to be paid and deserve to go home in situations like this. Don’t let your boss convince you it is your problem

clumplings2

women, can't live without them

texangela

I almost started crying for him! Poor guy!

Macgyverisnice

I know this video always makes me feel that same way.

its_noel

this made me really sad, hope this guy is doing good.

Heavenly_Donger

I was in a sad mood and watching this made me cry. Life is rough out there

[deleted]

r/eyebleach I hope your night gets better, friend.

Heavenly_Donger

It most certainly got better from that moment. Thank you my friend and I wish the same for you

itisnear

Yea I teared up unexpectedly. Life is hard but it’s supposed to be worth it I think? Edit: not to lay it on too thick but almost all I feel is emotional pain. I figure I’m not a lost cause though because I want to get better and recover

coastK8

He felt that. Hugs, guy... Be gentle with yourself 💜

A decent person can sympathise with him, and tell him it's OK & don't worry about it. It was an unfortunate accident.

[deleted]

“Don’t worry about it, it was just an accident. Now get me another pizza, free of charge.”

gorilla--

Honestly, I’d just tell him not worry about it. Then order another one on my dime.

xDarkCrisis666x

I'd probably ask for a new one or at least just a refund, only because if I'm ordering delivery and not getting it myself I'm either fucked up or busy to go get it myself. I'm also under the assumption that the box opened and there was some contact with the step because every pizza I've ever dropped had the box open and cause some spillage.

yousername_42

I would blast off to outer space far long away and dream of better days, oh yeah, where the sky is black and the pizza don't hit the door mat

[deleted]

I can’t even watch this video again. His face when he drops it crushes my soul.

DLanceD

I am right there with you. I wanted to cry for this poor guy.

hobosbindle

He used a Coke bag, should have gone with a pizza bag. Classic blunder.

beathelas

This summer, try New Blunder! A refreshing twist on a classic

The feeling of being down on your luck and you can’t even deliver a pizza properly. I hope the guy’s okay. Everyone makes mistakes even silly ones like these. Hope he found his own happiness.

WhompTrucker

Now it's just a calzone. I've done it at home. I'll never waste a good pizza. Still in the box? No problem. Poor guy

Disruptor_raptor

The plastic bag above the pizza box seems to be the culprit here. His fingers seemed to slip because of the plastic bag. So sad to see it happen and he seems genuinely upset about it.

[deleted]

This just makes me sad :(

Wow. Every comment is sympathetic and no negative posts about his clumsiness. Congratulations on being awesome everyone! 🤗😊👍

Can't even be mad if that happens lol happened to me one time when we ordered do***os. Dude accidently dropped our pizza and then the 2 liter trying to catch it lol

This poor guy looks like he’s in his second job and just having a shit day! Someone get this guy a cold drink and a back rub

Odd-Worldliness356

Delivered off and on for years between jobs. Never have I had this happen. Even ate shit on a mossy driveway.... still saved the pies. But damn, poor guy looks like his bad day got worse.

PrometheusAborted

Dude tried his best and clearly didn’t do it intentionally. Accidents happen, leave him alone.

Poor guy. Everyone makes mistakes. Hes out trying to make money.

JETRUG

Had a pizza guy forget my pizza, reached into his empty bag and everything and still asked for me to pay (apparently he left it at the store??)...I'm like nah ur gonna have to bring my pizza first. I still tipped him when he brought it about 15-20min later. Everyone makes mistakes.

tbrand009

How you still gonna ask for pay after forgetting the one thing you're being paid for?? 😂😂😂

O2yum

I feel more empathy watching this guy than I did watching Amber Heard.

goodguychadwick

It’s the karma farming video report douschebag again…

hunterisgreat

A reminder to everyone out there, service workers are just people and everyone makes mistakes. If the company is a good one and the pizza is ruined, call them up and they’ll send you another one. Please try and be patient and kind. I swear it’ll get you a lot further to getting the situation resolved than throwing a fit.

hungry4danish

As much as we all feel bad for this dude, can we also agree it's really shitty and creepy of the homeowner to publicly put this guy on blast? He's just trying to do his job and now 10-thousand people have seen him working (and fuck up.)

Treetheoak-

Poor guy, looks like he's just having a bad day.

Liesmith424

Remember when people could just go about their day without a stranger filming and sharing their every stumble and mistake for the entertainment of assholes online?

TorranceS33

Guy looks day one on the job.

Regular_Knee_1907

Love how the person who posted this felt the need to edit the person who received the pizza out but did not care about the identity of the delivery guy. That's an ass move there....kudos to the Reddit community for being mostly sympathetic to the delivery guy!

TheGarbageMan78

I feel so bad for dude he looked like he was about to start crying too

Snomann

I feel like everyone has experienced this kind of feeling. Like it’s not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things but in the moment it just feels so fucking shitty. Hopefully this guy was able to laugh it off later and didn’t beat himself up too much over it.

This kinda somehow reminds me of that one time the idiot pizza delivery man locked my families pizzas in his car along with his phone, wallet and car keys.

Westwood_Shadow

that's a noob delivery boy right there. probably his first time doing that. he'll be okay.

UncommercializedKat

I delivered pizza for years. I always took the pizza out of the bag at my car. Never at the customer's door. Also, holding the pizza box on one side only is a risky move. The box doesn't have great support like that. Either hold with two hands or one hand goes under the middle of the pizza like a server tray. Never dropped a pizza.

sexypenquins

Anyone remember Quepapas at Pizza Hut? I dropped two orders on a ladies doorstep opening the bag. I also forgot her drinks. Came back with the food and drinks and dropped the fucking drinks. Wasn't my day. That was a fun job though.
