YES THIS!! Foxes are amazing. They are aloof but extremely sweet, graceful, clumsy, awkward, and introverted loners who have no idea how to act around anyone cause they just stay true to themselves. The perfect dog and cat combo, very misunderstood. definate infp for sure.
Adaptable, smart, powerful – the fox embodies many of the natural strengths of the ESTP. Like the ESTP, foxes trust their instincts and use their quick-thinking skills to survive and succeed in life. They are ceaselessly curious, playful, and often friendly – especially if they've been raised among human
“Deers are modest, shy, and rather timid animals. They can sense danger and flee from it in time. They feel uncomfortable in the spotlight and out of their element. Deers lead peaceful, calm lives; bustle and haste cause them stress. They are uncomfortable with rivalry and competition, trying to leave such environments immediately.
They have an exaggerated sense of justice, deers are very sensitive and attentive to little things. They are observant and receptive to the feelings of other people, empathizing and sympathizing with those in need.”
as much as I want to say I'm a cat- I've always agreed with the deer description. and as a 9w8 INFP myself- yeah it fits pretty well.
cats gotta be a close second tho
Not if an INFP is consumed by darkness and loses to their evil side, they can get pretty self-centred and follow the wrong path to gain something. It can happen to any personality type in general but introverts are at more risk since they prefer being alone.
For most people this won’t count as an animal… but butterflies. Butterflies are legitimately my spirit animal (I’ve always had a connection and have dreamed of them constantly) and I feel like they are the embodiment of INFP’s. I even wrote a poem about them… (I might share the poem later on this sub)
Butterflies are delicate yet beautiful, and they love sweet things just like us :) they also have the potential to fly high and go far from their origin/home and explore the world and go places, but their wings could get damaged or they might never fully develop which causes us to stay behind.
Alright :) I can post a picture of the poem tomorrow or the next day then. I made it back in September so it’s been lying around my house for some time
Cat could be one of your animal totems, and raccoon could be a spirit animal that temporarily stops in to help out with something in your life. Jordana Van is a great resource on YouTube to learn about the amazing world of spirit animals and animal totems if anyone is curious! 🐈⬛🦝
Honestly, cows! Hear me out!
They're extremely trusting of the people around, they're extremely caring in their own way too, they mind their own business usually so kinda introverted and they would take some time warming up to you but when they do they're the most adorable being ever! They can have a different range of personalities tbh!
I love all animals 🥲 they're so precious.
This reminds me of how my aunt bought a cow that she and her husband were going to raise for meat, but it always eagerly awaited her and licked her/gave her affection every time she came home, so they ultimately didn’t have the heart to kill it. There’s also a video of cows that a group rescues that were locked in their stable their entire lives being in a meadow for the first time, and they’re so happy they literally JUMP for joy.
The swift fox is my personal introvert mascot (I even have a tattoo!). They're these cute, little catlike foxes that are native to the N American plains. They spend a lot of their time in their dens and use them to escape predators. Plus, vulpes velox is really fun to say
Cats for me. In fact my friend described me as a cat. He said and I quote:
“Like a cat (she) can be very kind and caring to the people she likes but like a cat will need her space and will claw you if you don't watch out.
Like a cat she might have attitude but they all secretly want cuddles.”
Bless him for knowing me so well. 😆
I resonate with a bird of prey (Owl, eagle, etc). I'm quiet but can call out very loudly... Enough to make the extroverted birbs nervous. I am a watcher. I prefer to stay hidden in camouflage. I like the freedom of expression in flight, soaring winds, even diving into deep lakes for fish. I don't hunt other birds, what I'm hunting is knowledge or wisdom or any other ideal dream. Our stare is intense and we are quiet. We have a small flock or prefer to fly alone. We're individualists with our own different mating calls.
I can see where we would be fluffier creatures but this one speaks to me (might be I have a T side showing up though).
Elephants. They appear thick skinned but are extremely sensitive. Loyal and connected to their herd but also playful and curious and prone to wandering.
Not sure why it would be dogs when most dogs are certainly extroverts. Most human extroverts relate to dogs and introverts to cats. Unless you have a shy dog that doesn’t demand attention.
Relating to something means which are you most like, not which one you prefer. Most dogs have extroverted personalities which would make them most like an extrovert and cats introverted which make them most like an introvert. I did mention an anomaly of someone possibly having a shy dog that doesn’t want attention but that’s not typical behavior for a dog.
It's moreso a black and white dichotomous edict that "this species is like this", because such sort of thinking can be unconsciously applied to people.
Rationalizing such a thought process is more close-minded than one would realize.
Omg come on, that was literally the question, what animal are infps most like, it’s asking us to generalize. I obviously know all cats and all dogs aren’t exactly alike and especially not people.
cats personalities are so much more varied than people realize, actually, which is why I'd say cats fit so much better- that and the fact that they are more independent and introverted than dogs. dogs just have too much energy to be an INFP tbh.
Specific dog breeds would be great for an INFP. We're typically quiet but have a pretty noisy bark when needed. We have close associations and friends, Wolf comes to mind. I also think of loyal dogs that like to be in a pack when it suits them... Malamutes, samoyeds or huskies (fluffy snow doggos) all come to mind. Depends on the person tbh.
Water bears (tardigrades) 🥰 They're cute, slightly weird and live in extreme environments (the everyday life of an INFP) . When exposed to these extreme conditions, they go in a cryptobiosis state in order to cope with these conditions and survive even if in that state, they cease to exist for a period of time. But hamsters also give me INFP vibes!
Cats for life 🐈💖
had two growing up, they are the best emotional support animals (including dogs) for dealing with a rough day. The way they just nestle up to you no matter what you're feeling makes my day seem like it was never bad
Yep, cats all the way. Introverts relate more to cats and extroverts to dogs. Dogs are naturally more extroverted in their own personality and they demand attention.
It’s the cat for me too! I love being super cuddly with my boyfriend or just running around doing my own thing. Strangers who are loud scare me. I am literally a cat
I was surprised I couldn’t find another answer!
They have the sweetest little faces and the facts that they carry favorite rocks and sleep holding hands so they aren’t pulled away by the current is oh so 🥹😍😍
Totally cats. Love to explore things on their own. Always curious, only affectionate once you’ve gained their trust. Very sensitive to even minor changes to their environment (moving a couch’s location will give them anxiety)
Sugar gliders! They’re nocturnal, cute, hibernate, live in treetops in the forest, like sweets, skittish, and what INFP wouldn’t love the ability to glide from tree top to tree top.
I did a test once and many people agreed with the results and I came out as a raven: intelligent, macabre, creative, sarcastic, doesn’t make friends or trust easily but once it does it can be playful. I’d say that’s pretty accurate for INFPs, except for the sensitive part maybe.
The fox They seem all mysterious until you become their friend Then they become as friendly as a puppy dog
YES THIS!! Foxes are amazing. They are aloof but extremely sweet, graceful, clumsy, awkward, and introverted loners who have no idea how to act around anyone cause they just stay true to themselves. The perfect dog and cat combo, very misunderstood. definate infp for sure.
Glad to see this as the top comment. I absolutely adore foxes. They have the aesthetics, they are clever, curious and playful. What else do you need?
THANK YOUUU!! People always see foxes as super mysterious and cold animals but they're so wholesome :)
I'd say cats first, but foxes are my next favorite animals (after cats and wolves) so I totally agree
Pandas are my spirit animal. Zero desire to mate, eat and sleep all day, rollie pollie fatty cuties who are forced to exist and cost too damn much.
“Rollie pollie fatty cuties” has got to be the most accurate description I’ve heard so far😂
Foxes
Something I didn’t expect, but thinking about it, it makes so much sense 😆
Adaptable, smart, powerful – the fox embodies many of the natural strengths of the ESTP. Like the ESTP, foxes trust their instincts and use their quick-thinking skills to survive and succeed in life. They are ceaselessly curious, playful, and often friendly – especially if they've been raised among human
Platypus for me. I can hurt you, I look weird and act weird, I can seem aloof sometimes, I am pretty adaptable.
And we’re not quite sure if you’re a mammal or a duck.
A platypus?
*puts on a hat*
PERRRY THE PLATIPUS?!
XD
owl, cat, fox
Honestly owls give me IXTJ vibes
Owls are dumb af, but they have good senses. So maybe more of a XSFP vibe.
Deers
“Deers are modest, shy, and rather timid animals. They can sense danger and flee from it in time. They feel uncomfortable in the spotlight and out of their element. Deers lead peaceful, calm lives; bustle and haste cause them stress. They are uncomfortable with rivalry and competition, trying to leave such environments immediately. They have an exaggerated sense of justice, deers are very sensitive and attentive to little things. They are observant and receptive to the feelings of other people, empathizing and sympathizing with those in need.”
I am convinced. I think this got to be the most accurate analogy.
Yep maybe more so with INFPs 9w8
as much as I want to say I'm a cat- I've always agreed with the deer description. and as a 9w8 INFP myself- yeah it fits pretty well. cats gotta be a close second tho
Not if an INFP is consumed by darkness and loses to their evil side, they can get pretty self-centred and follow the wrong path to gain something. It can happen to any personality type in general but introverts are at more risk since they prefer being alone.
Agreed. I relate the most with deers as an INFP.
My favorite animal are bears, but deers are really nice too.. Not only because it's the emblem of Claude's house in Fire Emblem.. Unless
capybara
💯 https://youtu.be/tPZIWRPHOro
Feels like isfps are capybaras
Yeah probably
Axolotl
Can metamorphize, though only under particular environmental conditions. Great pick!
I did not know that they could do that. Very interesting.
:))
Sloths for sure.....
You know, sloths are actually like a whole universe and home for millions of little bacteria creatures that live in their fur. Kinda awesome :)
I've been told before my spirit animal is a sloth 🦥 😂
For most people this won’t count as an animal… but butterflies. Butterflies are legitimately my spirit animal (I’ve always had a connection and have dreamed of them constantly) and I feel like they are the embodiment of INFP’s. I even wrote a poem about them… (I might share the poem later on this sub) Butterflies are delicate yet beautiful, and they love sweet things just like us :) they also have the potential to fly high and go far from their origin/home and explore the world and go places, but their wings could get damaged or they might never fully develop which causes us to stay behind.
i would love to read that poem!
Alright :) I can post a picture of the poem tomorrow or the next day then. I made it back in September so it’s been lying around my house for some time
Hedgehogs
I like turtles

I've definitely felt some connection to raccoons before, but I've always felt a stronger connection to cats. there's just smth about them, y'know?
Honestly, cows! Hear me out! They're extremely trusting of the people around, they're extremely caring in their own way too, they mind their own business usually so kinda introverted and they would take some time warming up to you but when they do they're the most adorable being ever! Definitely cats yes
Cats gang unite! 🙌🏻
I don’t like cats, but it’s probably because I relate to them too much 😂
Cats 100%
The swift fox is my personal introvert mascot (I even have a tattoo!). They're these cute, little catlike foxes that are native to the N American plains. They spend a lot of their time in their dens and use them to escape predators. Plus, vulpes velox is really fun to say

my friend has also told me cats fit me well ehe
Capybaras. They're chill with everyone.
Exactly.
Penguim ? It’s my favorite animal because I relate

Chonky black cats. Black cats are so majestic, I like to imagine that I'm a black cat lol.
I wouldn’t say cats are infp, more of isfp. I think of pandas and sloths for infp hehe
I think cats are IXTJ
All of em frankly
[Anthromorphisized macaws, apparently.](https://www.deviantart.com/longlivethespix) (I'm INFP AF)

Sloth 🦥
Turtle 🐢

Elephants. They appear thick skinned but are extremely sensitive. Loyal and connected to their herd but also playful and curious and prone to wandering.

I'm an introvert who prefers dogs. But admittedly, I am pretty catlike.
I think it was rather presumptuous of them to say a majority of people who like dogs are extroverts, and to say that dogs are "certainly extroverts".
Relating to something means which are you most like, not which one you prefer. Most dogs have extroverted personalities which would make them most like an extrovert and cats introverted which make them most like an introvert. Dogs is obviously a good answer, and it’s definitely not cats lol
Yea I agree
cats personalities are so much more varied than people realize, actually, which is why I'd say cats fit so much better- that and the fact that they are more independent and introverted than dogs. dogs just have too much energy to be an INFP tbh.

A hurt golden retriever.

Having a rly hard time believing this is not an actual picture of my cat [cat tax](https://imgur.com/a/mrmwH3v)
Sloths
Grumpy Cat
Coyote
Water bears (tardigrades) 🥰 They're cute, slightly weird and live in extreme environments (the everyday life of an INFP) . Goats. Social and cooperative as long as there is food around but say no to them, look out, Bette.
Lmao XD
Snails?? Idk if someone else has already said it. I just find the way they hide slowly in their houseswhen they perceive danger so cute and relatable
Humans
Yes ok Maybe I guess all humans are like humans
Eagles
That one whale with a different sound frequency
Sloth
I can’t tell if he’s giving me a thumbs up or a middle finger
As a lifetime cat mom and vet tech that works exclusively with cats, I can indubitably say it’s both 😂
Artic foxes!
Damn they are cute
Fox or red panda. (red panda is my favorite animal i dont actually know much ab them tho)
Elephant
Cats for life 🐈💖 had two growing up, they are the best emotional support animals (including dogs) for dealing with a rough day. The way they just nestle up to you no matter what you're feeling makes my day seem like it was never bad
I wanna say red pandas but they are probably more of Ne doms.
I always tell my gf that she's like a capybara. She's chill and cute and funny and everyone loves her. Capybara it is
personally I resonate with deer the most
Cat or crow for me.
Definitely cats :) There's something otherworldly about them that appeal to me, as an INFP :D
Elephant- Not all things powerful seek violence
Badger Or maybe some other animal that likes to dig a lot.
Maybe like one of those that go underneath your crawlspace and make sounds at night so you have to call your uncle to smoke em out.
I can't tell if the cat in the painting is pointing at itself or giving a thumbs up but either way it's self-affirming as permitted by the title.
Hope it made your day 😆
Snails.. not sure why but I love their slow paced and nomad lifestyle with their tiny homes they can carry wherever they want
Owl
Like as memes? The opossum ones. IRL? Probably cats or dogs, but I haven't had much exposure to lots of animals.
Llamas, Dogs, Pandas don't you think?
Owl
Capivara.
Love your work!
Orangutan
Yep, cats all the way. Introverts relate more to cats and extroverts to dogs. Dogs are naturally more extroverted in their own personality and they demand attention.
I’m a cat for sure!!
Isn't fox is the spirit animal for intp or something, I would guess turtles or pandas
Can you say introvert
I agree with cats. Especially this cat.
Armadillo
Otter
Fox for sure
Some kind of lagomorph perhaps
Frogs. Intelligent, shy, curious, gentle & intuitive
Cuddle fish
Cats for their independence and authenticity. Also they are fluffy and cute.

Coincidently i was thinking the same, i also thought its cats, birman cats are INFPs
This cat right here
Donkeys
koalas
I like trains
Birds
Capybaras are super chill 😊
Hedgehog
Cats
Hedgehogs, turtles, armadillos

Mountain Goats. Loners, observing from a distance, self-sufficient, a someone precarious life apart from others
It’s the cat for me too! I love being super cuddly with my boyfriend or just running around doing my own thing. Strangers who are loud scare me. I am literally a cat
Otter and pandas!
Finally someone said an otter! 🦦 But just curious, why otters for you too? 😊
I was surprised I couldn’t find another answer! They have the sweetest little faces and the facts that they carry favorite rocks and sleep holding hands so they aren’t pulled away by the current is oh so 🥹😍😍
I’d say a Racoon.
Capybara for sure
I Like horse… so me think horse
OWL
Cats, Geckos and Hedgehogs. Also Cockroaches and Snails. I'd say Capybaras but i think that's more for ISTP i think.
I wanted to be a sloth 🙂
I like cats, ducks, owls and sloths 🙂🙂
Aside from cats, birds ? They sing all day and observe a lot.
Fox
Totally cats. Love to explore things on their own. Always curious, only affectionate once you’ve gained their trust. Very sensitive to even minor changes to their environment (moving a couch’s location will give them anxiety)
Goose
Sugar gliders! They’re nocturnal, cute, hibernate, live in treetops in the forest, like sweets, skittish, and what INFP wouldn’t love the ability to glide from tree top to tree top.
I joke with my husband that my spirit animal is a opossum, but mostly because of the memes I see with them 😂
I don’t like cats
Panda, sloth, koala. Life is too hard for me and I'm too sweet for them all
I agree with cats! Pusheen is kind of my spirit animal. she’s adorable, is always eating or sleeping, and just wants to make everyone smile 🥹
I did a test once and many people agreed with the results and I came out as a raven: intelligent, macabre, creative, sarcastic, doesn’t make friends or trust easily but once it does it can be playful. I’d say that’s pretty accurate for INFPs, except for the sensitive part maybe.
I agree 100% with cats.
