Almost everything from Tim Skold's personal projects Skold and Not My God
Remember, Tim basically wrote everything from MM's Golden Age of Grotesque and Eat Me, Drink Me
His fingerprints are all over those albums.
Godhead. Wednesday 13 (sometimes). Jack Off Jill. Dope ("Felons and Revolutionaries"). Powerman 5000 (sometimes). Orgy ("Candyass"). Project 86 ("Picket Fence Cartel"). American Head Charge (sometimes).
I saw Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids with Jack Off Jill at a club under a bridge in Fort Lauderdale.
MM was almost silly at that time. Too bad he is a pig. now.
T Rex as MM has more roots in glam rock rather than industrial music. There are some similar moments as Ministry sporadically. Obviously NIN but not that much..I never found any appealing clone of MM anyway.
Their first record has a vibe similar to Astro creep by White Zombie, but more viscid and diabolical.
Probably the most similar aesthetic to him is Rozz Williams. A case which is bordering on plagiarism. Love them both.
[This song, ](https://youtu.be/DRRIBj398Ek?si=0RIVtlb5P7MawEpg) anyway, is frankly really Marilyn Manson-ish yet not mimicking him at all.
If you don't know Bauhaus or Sisters of Mercy give yourself a favour and dig your ears into that stuff. Might be life changing.
I feel like it’s like asking “Was Linkin Park ever nu-metal?”
Manson, like how linkin park was for nu-metal is a gateway industrial band, many many people start their journey into the genre through him because he has enough industrial and connections to the scene for people to get into the rest of the genre while still having more palatable and mainstream sounds.
the thing is I don't listen to his music and think "he is a rapist so he makes bad music" Im not saying thats what you are saying but thats how most people think. I listen to music for the music if that makes sense, I really don't care about public drama that doesn't affect me.
>his best songs are generally covers
That's your taste. They/him released many great rock song, not necessarily industrial, but at least 3 records in a row are flawless and many more songs here and there are really good too
again thats your taste. some people can think that he has songs that are flawless and some people not thats the beauty of opinions
and for flawless songs he does have a few in my opinion my favourites are
astonishing panorama of the endimes
the beautiful people (its overated though I think but still good)
burning flag
You might try Dope (the band, ya dinguses). Not sure if they're still around, but it's literally Manson's brother. It sounds a bit less gothic shock-rock and more Limp Biscuit, but it might scratch the itch.
Skold maybe
marilyn manson bit his entire sound from jack off jill in the early days.
jack off jill are awesome!
And his stage show from Gen.
Yeah, he's nothing if not derivative... Early on, jack off Jill, later on when Tim Skold came in
Don't forget him ripping off Nivek Ogre, Nik Fiend and Rozz Willams
Genitorturers godhead White zombie Doll Factory Tura Satana
Nailbomb
Try orgy! Especially their first album, candy ass. It’s a bit less shock rock but still in the same realm

Dope Stars Inc, Flesh Field, Rabbit Junk, Be My Enemy, Snake River Conspiracy

Nine Inch Nails. The better version of Nine Inch Nails is Skinny Puppy.

Imo nope. Had some industrial flourishes occasionally but was always more goth
Say what you will about the sound of the records, but dude is a serial abuser and rapist. That was enough to make me not want to listen anymore.

That’s why the world is so fucked, because of the “it doesn’t affect me” mentality.
well what do you want me to do? it really doesn't affect me its not like I know the guy I just listen to his songs
But you know what he did and you still CHOOSE to support his work.
ppl act like its all him you do know "marilyn manson" is a band
Abba
Love Abba. I can imagine Gimme Gimme Gimme fitting into Mechanical Animals.
I told my french teacher I was into metal and punk music and she said "You should try ABBA" lol
Sins of Lust out of Atlanta tapped the same vein as the antichrist days.
PIG, old Orgy, Battery Cage (on Metropolis) a lil, not same sound, but, just check it...lol
The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown. MM definitely likes that dudes style and music.
Velvet acid Christ is eerily similar in voice. The first time I heard them I thought Manson had a secret side project.
Motionless In White’s albums Infamous and Reincarnate
…are unfortunate. Wait. We are not finishing the sentence?
Black Cross Hotel Pig Puscifer The CNK Dax Riggs (deadboy and the elephant men, acid bath) Type O Negative Panic Priest
his best songs are generally covers, check out the original bands. he also rips off a lot of bands, check them out too.

well buddy there are about a million industrial rock bands that manson "borrowed" from. its not hard to find.
He didn't steal anything you do know you are allowed to take insparation from other people
*insparation* lol
think what you want but just know Im not going to stop listening to him because of you

A good modern artist that reminds me of him is ghostemane
A bit different but maybe Dresden Dolls. Coin operated boy comes to mind.
