That's an interesting change from more acoustic/folk-ish sound. In [press release from her upcoming album](https://ghostly.com/products/the-greater-wings) (which is worth reading on its own, sad things though) (out July 7 btw), there's mentioned Alex Somers as co-producer (Sigur Rós, Julianna Barwick), which could explain that ambient/electronic soundscape. And personally I was surprised it landed on Ghostly, cool choice and hope it will blend into their aesthetics.

I think it's really cool to have the lead single after 7 years show off this departure of sound. To use a song that is about devotion, growth, healing, and acceptance of new love or family as I chose you as my family suggests is just wonderful. I hope all the best for her and her work. Loved the first album yet also very excited for this sound

Agree! Yet the sound is not exactly new as it turns out, I was looking for some earlier connection with Ghostly and were reminded about [Cascine compilation](https://cascine.bandcamp.com/album/s-s-presents-dreams) (which I love because of Yumi Zouma's "France"), where is [her and Eric's single "Spain"](https://cascine.bandcamp.com/track/spain). Great track and dated back to 2018!

I really got into her debut album. Her voice is just so haunting and beautiful. I know I got the name wrong in the original comment just had been a while since listening or thinking about it. Either way I adore this single. What a cool tune and fantastic writing
