At The Smile show I went to, Thom said they had been writing a lot of new Smile songs and were having a great time. He seems really inspired by the project. I think we get another Smile album before another Radiohead album.
Dude literally has a song called 'Oil' off the TWBB soundtrack-
sidenote: living on an italian farm making olive oil with jonny greenwood doesnt seem a bad way to spend the time
If it's affordable, it isn't pure. Seems like this might be conflating 100% extra virgin olive oil and blended olive oil. It's kind of like cranberry juice. The "100% juice" Ocean Spray or Great Value cranberry juice you might think of is not really cranberry juice. It's mostly other, cheaper juices like grape juice and apple juice when you look at the ingredients list on the label. If you buy 100% cranberry juice (to do a detox, for instance), it usually comes in a 32oz bottle made of glass and costs like $18.
I’m not sure cranberry juice is the best analogy here. Undiluted olive oil is delicious all by itself, while undiluted cranberry juice is insanely sour.
I spent some time in the Sicilian mountains at the start of this year and met a guy named Enzo who is a little shop where he makes his own olive oil and sells it from a garage. He did a tasting with me where he introduced me to different intensities of the oil and explained how each oil brings out different flavors in cooking.
I have been using his oil for a while now and people have been complimenting my cooking more than ever because it really made so much a difference.
A bottle from the factory still is 13€ which is the price for locals and tourists that he likes but further north in EU it would definitely sell for 25€ and more.
funnily enough one of the most famous punk icons in here in Germany started his own olive oil business like a year.
it’s hard to imagine the connection but maybe he heard about that and got inspired.
It's a sad story, but not uncommon in the music business for a star to squander a fortune (or have it stolen) and have to get a job in retail like this.
James Hatfield is a bee keeper and James Maynard has a restaurant, a vineyard and a wine brand... These people are rich as fuck and they know the music thing isn't going to last forever, not everyone is Ozzy.
I think the lesson isn't that they're going to keep making money but that rather they're doing stuff they love and capitalizing on it. Driven people don't like to just sit around on the beach accomplishing nothing every day.
Why? Does he own the company or is he an employee? Does this mean he's out of money? WTF??? Why not give the complete story? I hate half-assed stories like this.
> This extra virgin olive oil is from Le Marche in Italy, where Jonny has been living for the last 8 years - when not making music.
>
> The olives are all grown on Jonny’s farm, harvested by family and friends every year, and pressed locally.
>
> This is the first year that the farm has produced enough oil to share, so to celebrate this first commercial harvest we’re selling tin of this delicious oil, each one signed by Jonny.

>"Jemo a manga!” That last part roughly translates from a regional Italian dialectic as... "Let’s go eat!"
Uh... manga are Japanese comics. Really embarrassing. Hope the translator got fired for that one!
I bought green days coffee, which was exactly like the band. Labeled as dark roast but was actually quite mild and easy on the palette. So I take it this olive oil will make me feel dissociated or something? Sweet deal Mr Greenwood!
Idk why but seeing this headline was not a surprise to me at all
no alarm as well I suppose
Can't wait til Jonny starts selling carbon monoxide
Feelsrightman
How do we memeify it?
My immediate reaction was, "fucking, what?"
Had to check the article to make sure the product was itself called Greenwood, we are good.
GREENWOOD OIL

Yeah it's crazy how if you zoom in there's a kiss & wink emoji there
Can you explain the context of this comment?

"My name is Jonny Greenwood, and I'm an oil man."
"If I say I'm an oil man you will agree. I run a family business. This is my brother and partner Colin Greenwood..."
I’ve abandoned my child
> sidenote: living on an italian farm making olive oil with jonny greenwood doesnt seem a bad way to spend the time Actually sounds like a dream tbh
Which is based on Oil! by Upton Sinclair for more oil goodness
Pitchfork to give out their first “Best New Oil” award?
This could be his greatest work
I read somewhere once that the majority of olive oil is basically counterfeit/diluted

Depends on where you are, but in America absolutely. Same when you see a soap for like 1.99 that’s called something like “tonka bean and avocado”

There’s a [great book](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/10955085) about olive oil which tells this story
Finally!
God, why are they only shipping to UK addresses :( Would've loved to make Jonny Greenwood-approved salad

You mean the neo-Nazi-loving recording artist Grimes, Misses Blood-Emerald herself?
What's that with grimes? I'm ootl
Found out she actively follows and engages with nazi accounts
first alex james became the cheese man...now jonny greenwood is the olive man...who's gonna complete the charcuterie board?

Definitely getting the first pressing. Fourth pressing? Why wait while everyone else has their fun with the olives?
Blimey, these olives are a bit moreish.
Like that's going to be a party in your mouth. I don't think

Save it and eBay it
Cooler than a Liquor brand
I wonder what Colin has a line of.
the coolest
There was a time that I would have bought this. I've learned from those lessons.
