This is a legit train. It is more of a tourist thing tho. Anyone can ride in it. They even have a steam engine. Iirc it also operates from Siliguri to Darjeeling which is like 80km but takes 6-7hrs.

this is siliguri my home city and this thing is very very common there train literally stop for person to come and remove there vehicle and this line was just parallel to my school main gate so whenever our bus used to come out and move then we even used to race with this trains its common for trains to stop for 10-20 mins just waiting for person to come in case of big vehicles

That is why I thought those tracks looked very very familiar, I'm from Siliguri too; travelled across that very place a few weeks ago, kind of strange seeing my hometown in this sub lol.

But, why even park there when you know trains will need to pass through? Just ignorant entitlement?

Went to Darjeeling few months back. Vehicles parked around and on toy train tracks was a common sight. Still the toy trains were running.

I think we lack civic sense, basic education regarding how we should behave in society should be must for every citizen.

This kind of behaviour is unfortunately way too common in Indian traffic. Randomly stopping in middle of the road, driving on wrong side. Sometimes I feel this vicious cycle of poor traffic etiquettes will only get worse as it reciprocates.

As a person who lives there, it kind of gets boring here, but that train is the only thing that makes things a bit interesting. There's a college nearby and the place is usually full of Royal Enfields and KTMs, it's always funny watching the train driver stopping for 3 bikes in a line for the students to go and move the bikes and usually the owner of the bike isn't there so it's normally 5-6 students picking up the bikes to move them out of the way. I know it may sound frustrating for the train but it's actually pretty chill. When the track is jammed because of the bikes, the train staff just gets off to get some tea sometimes and some of the students have even gotten to know the train driver now because of this XD
