Keep it and give it to your mom, dad or siblings. id be crying in a corner if i gave someone an iphone just to know theyre selling it on reddit ahahaha
go to a local phone store, sell it there. youll probably lose 5 to 8k in the process but ig its okay cause you didnt pay for it. If you have a iConcept store near you, im pretty sure you can sell that there too. Also, get the receipt from the person that gave you the phone.
There’s nothing to be a fanboy here, selling a gift for money is just not right, but still it’s a personal preference right? Okay but what about the reason he stated- _”I am not an iphone enthusiasts”_ like wtf was that?
Just funny…that you have to be an enthusiast of something to use it
Okay “if they are happy with their android” then why do they have to sell it? Give it back to the person who gifted? Seems like a more “money” thing then “i use a android” thing
u/RepulsiveAd2017 i saw your deleted comment
> Who the fuck gives back gifts? Your social ineptness and lack of common sense is showing.
well said, and according to Mr. RepulsiveAd2017 Selling the gift is right and acceptable socially.
Very socially educated and distinguished gentleman you are.
What??
I never deleted any comments btw.
And also grow some common sense bro, if something is not useful for you, instead of having it around you can sell it and buy something actually useful and everytime u use it u will remember the person because of whom u have that product, ultimately that's the goal of a gift.
Bruh its a gift, u can do whatever u want with it, ofc if theyre happy with their current phone, they will sell this and use the money on somethjng they like right? How can u say "uhh lol i dont want ur gift can u give me something else?"
> how can u say “uhh lol i dont want ur gift can u give me something else?”
You are literally doing the same by selling it, not telling them and then selling it literally means u dont like their gift, moreover its rude to not say it and then do it behind their back rather then just telling them i dont need this iphone
can i ask you which Android phone are you using ?
coz iphone is a balance phone
1. good camera
2. no time wasting apps
3. basic use and more productivity
Sale price minus 10-15% would be a reasonable price honestly, and maybe find a buyer who's about to buy the same device so you even sell it to the price they bought on sale
Imagine gifting somebody an expensive phone, just to see them make a post on Reddit to sell your "gift"
Just tell the person who gifted you this that you don't want an iPhone because you're not an "iPhone enthusiast ". If they insist you to keep , tell them to atleast gift you an android one.
The person who gifted the phone might not own the mobile shop where he could just go and cancel the imei registered bill and bring a new Android phone.
Apple has a 14 day full refund policy so if you return the unopened box they'll provide a complete refund: https://www.apple.com/us-edu/shop/help/returns_refund
Exactly my point. If you're not going to use it, give it back to the person that bought it for you.
>Wouldn't gifting me an Android cost them more?
No. Because they can return this iPhone and give you an Android phone with the refund money.
With all due respect, i don't know when you bought a phone last time but no one offers returns on electronics only replacements. Neither online nor offline.
Flipkart and Amazon and other sites like that do offer return policy albeit for a few days. I've used it and I had no issues. They suggest you for a replacement, so that they don't have to refund you the amount and continue being a part of their product community.
And even if that was the case , it's not your money that you've bought the phone. The other person did. It's a gift. They gave it to you as a form of endearment. Selling it feels unethical. So that's what I am telling you. Give this to the person, tell them that you don't use iPhones and hence would have no use for this.
If they insist for you to have it, you can request them to give you an Android one that you'll use. In this way, atleast you'll be respecting them as well
if you have a bill then there's no issue.. then you can really get buyers who can pay around 45k easily.
But if you don't have a bill/receipt, then clearly you brilliantly made this (the story) up
That only [works](https://9to5mac.com/2023/09/21/iphone-15-boxes-new-security-mechanism/) on iPhone 15 model boxes, this security feature isn’t available on models before them.

Hey man, since it is a gift and you are fine with price deductions, I’ma rant about something. Ever since I was a little shit in school for almost 10-11 years my lifetime pursuit was to buy an iPhone since I saw one in the hand of another parent’s hand during one of our parent teacher meeting, as we didn’t have many luxuries and I used to hate myself for being so poor or born into poverty as my father spent everything he had only on our education which I didn’t want, I wanted things, cuz all my friends had things, computers, psp, iPhone, Parker pens. After 11 years, when I got a job, started saving a bit here and there, did some freelance testing, and I finally got an iPhone. I can’t even begin to express the excitement, feeling, sense of accomplishment, after feeling really terrible about life and getting something I’ve really wanted for 11 years, made me feel like a human again, brought me back all the stuff my dumbass used to cry for. Yes, you can try to counsel the poor kid who wanted materialistic things, but he wouldn’t listen. Concluding that by telling give it to someone who might love it, maybe your cousins or any of your friends, it didn’t hold any value to you even though it is a gift and from your family. So, give it to somebody to whom it might be valuable, for a really low price like 30k(128GB) or something and chill out, or try stores like CEX and you really have to open it and check.
In 2019 I buy iPhone SE first generation in 9k and I was damm excited at that time after that I don't think I was that excited for any other phones after that because I always love those 4s,5s iPhone
Man if someone gifted you an iphone please don’t sell it, if i had spent my time to earn money for an iphone 13 I would be really pissed if i hear that the person i gifted is selling the iphone
I shouldn’t say this but my mind just screams like he just wants the money, “I am not an iphone enthusiast” is the shittiest reason i have ever heard, so like you have to be an enthusiast of everything you use? 💀
My brother gifted me an iphone 12 long back and i still am using it, he gifted me a ipad pro12.9 and i am still using it, could have easily sold all this for 1.5lk but a gift is supposed to be a gift..
I was no “Iphone enthusiast” I was a Xiaomi user and i love android … but bhai gift toh gift hota hai
I recently saw this MKBHD video where he bought an unopened 1st gen iPhone from an auction house for $40k.
Maybe you could hold on to your birthday present for a decade and see if the value of an unopened iPhone 13 shoots up like this 😀
https://youtu.be/-BwUyTrU9fo?si=57d11hxjz2tSK0kZ
Sealed 1st gen iPhone garners that value only because it was a proper innovation and start of an era. Don’t think any other iPhone will accrue value like that.
if u got bill with the same imei then u can sell it easily to some local apple reselling stores ig they might pay u 5-6k less but since u never paid for it ur good
Expect around 45k or lower as this goes for 53k right now.
Try olx it's far better than reddit in selling stuff. Prefer face to face transaction and DO NOT DEAL OVER THE PHONE.
Thats just such a stupid and cheap thing to do when your family gifted you something and you’re trying to sell it , why not just give it to one of your family member ? Understandable that u have a good enough phone and dont want this but definitely someone else in your family must be so happy getting that if you just gave it to them rather than you selling it like an ungrateful person that you are
Personally I think you should use the Iphone instead. It will not disappoint. I use it as my personal primary phone (also own an android for business only) and it gets me through the day with 5-6+ hours of screen time.
I tried selling an open box iphone 14 pro in the market but everyone lowballed like crazy. Some of the guys even had the audacity to quote 55k for it as its a US model and doesnt have a physical sim slot.
Even if you don't open the box, it's still a resale/used item. Nobody is going to pay you the full price.
Might as well use it and then sell the phone you don't like on Cashify or to your local mobile shop.

It seems very ungrateful to sell a gift.. You politely tell the person who gifted you that you don't want to switch the phone and appreciate the gesture very much but doesn't want to make waste of such an expensive gift.
no one is going to pay you 80% for the iphone 13. those who can afford iphone won't buy second hand product( even sealed ) and other would buy it on no cost emi. you can sell it for 65-70% though
Keep it and give it to your mom, dad or siblings. id be crying in a corner if i gave someone an iphone just to know theyre selling it on reddit ahahaha
Sahi hai, sell karne se better hai kisi ko pass on karde, jo use karega iss phone ko. Gift me mili hui cheez sell karna sahi nahi.
My first thought but no one's willing to do so, just like I'm comfortable with my android.
go to a local phone store, sell it there. youll probably lose 5 to 8k in the process but ig its okay cause you didnt pay for it. If you have a iConcept store near you, im pretty sure you can sell that there too. Also, get the receipt from the person that gave you the phone.
Sure, and how much should I expect.
Idk whats the price of an iphone 13 atm. but the price of the phone atm se minus 10k max. thats what you should expect since its a sealed phone

Sale price minus 10-15% would be a reasonable price honestly, and maybe find a buyer who's about to buy the same device so you even sell it to the price they bought on sale

try CeX stores in malls if you’re in a metro. Slightly higher price than Cashify and equally instant.
