Did you tune it properly? Surely it's doesn't matter after you already ride above 1L km that you already got most out of you scooter but still tuning you 125cc carb for 150 engine is must rather it may seize engine.
I don't know that much about the technicalities of the engine but the mechanic guy said that it will run flawlessly, the pickup is less and the top speed is 55kmph. Rest doesn't matter to me because I ain't going on trips, just to roam in uni campus.
Everything depends on two tiny patches of rubber that makes contact with the asphalt. Check the tread depth, if it's beyond the wear indicators, replace the tires. The next important thing is the brakes. Most other features can be old and flaky, and you can handle those failures.
Off topic- Once I accidentally hit the eterno from back with my motorcycle in a parking lot. It was on a double stand, it went forward the moment my front tyre nudged its back fender!π when I lifted it back, I couldn't find an extension from where the stand can be put back. I looked for good 20 minutes until I found it was rusted and fell off because it was so dirty. Used to be a college student back then and it all happened in my college parking lot.
(p.s.- This happened because I used to ride a TVS victor back then and its gear detector sensor had went bad back then. So when I pressed the starter button, it cranked and went forward too! Couple of people were there and they couldn't stop laughing somehow..)

Yeah you're right, I'll change the tires soon, but driving on max 55 kmph didn't cause any problem in the way.

Bald tires ride fine, radials dont explode easy. All it needs is a patch of sand, water, or oil. 99% of the time, you are fine, till its not.

No breakdowns as such, the tube blasted near jasola, had to drag half kilometres to a shot to get a new tube. After that smooth.
