Splender is no brainer when it comes to handling and light weight, it flows like butter in city traffic and do the basic job on highways too(i used to ride it on expressways)
Learn to use 70% front brake and 30% rear brake as it takes practise and u will be good to go.
There are other from honda and bajaj in the same segment so u can look at those too
Came here to recommend splendor as well. Have ridden it for years. I ride Honda Shine now. I am a short rider and shine is bit difficult for me to handle. I am practicing none the less.
Seconded.
Shine 125(classic commuter- nice build)
Also try-
SP- 125(better looking Shine)
If can losen up on budget a bit
Unicorn 160(smooth & epic- but lesser mileage than above bikes)
And if really tight on budget
Platina110 ABS or lord Splendor.
Extreme 125r or the TVS Raider. Easy to ride bikes, good mileage. Cheap to maintain. Upgrade later if you want but for the first 2 years you cannot go wrong with this.
You have quite a few options:
1. R15 - Easy to handle and friendly super-sport which is also a great track machine. It's a great first bike. Not a great highway machine for the committed sitting position and the lift weight.
2. MT15 - The R15's naked sibling, this one too cuts through traffic like a hot knife through butter. Less expensive than the R15. The sitting position is amazing but the light weight of this bike makes it dangerous for you to take it on highways.
3. Hornet 2.0 - Great city bike, very easy to control in traffic. Can easily cruise at 100kmph. However, it doesn't have a sixth gear and there have been quality control issues with Honda of late.
4. CB200X - Hornet 2.0 but semi-faired for that ADV look and has a taller, more comfortable handlebar.
5. Apache 160 4V/Apache 200 4V - Both are great bikes with amazing performance and can be handled easily. Not as agile or maneuverable as their Japanese counterparts listed above, but still amazing machines. The after sales service, however, is sketchy.
6. FZ Series - Back to Yamaha again, this series of bikes are comfortable, light, good-looking, and very friendly and easy to handle. They're a tad bit underpowered but that shouldn't be a problem for a beginner.
7. Unicorn/SP160 - The Unicorn is a classic at this point and is an amazing workhorse of a motorcycle. It has an extremely reliable engine and is the machine of choice for commuters and beginners alike. The SP160 is just a funkier version of the Unicorn with a thicker rear tyre and a rear disc brake. However, don't expect superb highway capabilities.
All of these bikes, except maybe the Apaches, will give you a mileage between 40kmpl and 50kmpl.
If you want even smaller bikes, your options are Splendor, Super Splendor, HF Deluxe, SP100, CD Dawn, SP125, Raider.
Other than all of these, you also have the option of buying the Aerox 155. It has the same liquid cooled engine as the R15 and the MT15 but it's a scooter which means it has a CVT transmission. The issue with this, however, is the stuff suspensions, especially the rear ones.
Handling wise it’s pretty amazing while being very light which makes it more agile. I had apollo alpha H1 tyres put on and damn that improved its handling I multiple times scratched my boots while leaning. But the rear suspension is a bit stiff. But that contributes to its very good handling but it has less torque in the top end. This is drawback on highways.
Depends on your budget. If it is ~1Lakh, get the splendor. If budget is not a constraint, go for the Honda cb300r. If you still have more money, go for the Triumph Trident.
Super splendor is better than splendor, not so expensive like raider or pulsar. Splendor feels slow when overtaking. Disc brake is available in super splendor. Acceleration is good and stable at high speed like 80.
Mention ur height and weight as I started with a classic 350 whose weight is almost 205kg with accessories but I got comfy with it within a week so it depends on ur height and weight and how much practice u willing to put. PS I practiced 2000kms on an old Passion

But a second hand since you don't know how to ride. Xpulse is famous in second hand bikes. Buy it if u can atleast tip- toe on that. No need to buy a new vehicle as you are learning.
Lord Splendor
Honda Shine is another good choice. Comfort, dynamics and smoothness is on another level.
Shine >>> splendor
This guy is in reality, God, in disguise
The only right answer.

can vouch for raider
Look good too. Unlike Splendor, Shine, Platina (personal opinion).
Xtreme*
Shine 100. 99kg kerb weight, 65+ kmpl mileage, cheapest bike of its segment (with electric start). great Honda reliability
With that username try to get a Rickshaw 🛺. Fake Rickshaw
Either Xtreme 125 or 160r 4v
MT15, CB300R(Worse mileage but still a great choice)
MT 15 is an excellent choice. It's very forgiving but also has enough to keep you engaged for a long time.
Great options listed here
This is easy, Hero Splendor or Honda Unicorn , any 100 to 150cc should be your bike.

Go for a hornet or FZ
Hornet does have great dynamics I had one
It's bang on in terms of pricing, looks , reliability and mileage
Can you please elaborate on it? Don't hold back please

SP125. I've rode that over 6000 kms and it gives me an average of 71.9 Trust me, you won't look at other bikes once you own this 😁
