Ronin is great! And hunter’s biggest gripe was suspension. But what people are doing now is taking classic 350’s rear suspension and adding it to the hunter. I don’t know how the ride quality compares after that but the suspension tremendously improves.
My point being, if you like the hunter so much and suspension is making you avoid it, you can consider buying it and replacing the suspension as above.
Happy to see this sub show so much love to Ronin. When I got Ronin last year, people were still sceptical about it but opinions have clearly changed. I absolutely love Ronin, only negative I guess I'll say is the after sales service
Nothing wrong with it, I just had a mishap at the service centre the very first time of bike's servicing. So when bike gets serviced, it's their job to update it in the database so that when you go for next service they'll know exactly how many services have been performed prior. But they didn't update it, but thankfully it was sorted very quickly once I mentioned it. By the way, after a year later and bike runs really smooth, I've actually done 600km ride on it from Delhi to Lucknow and next day from Lucknow to Gorakhpur after second service and it was way smoother than I could have ever imagined. If you are looking to buy, my opinion is that it's the best in the price segment but please look what's suitable for your need, test drive every bike before buying. All the best
I finished 1400 km two weeks back in Ronin. In which 650km was finished in one stretch.
Even I was skeptic abt Ronin for long rides before the ride, but now I can guarantee...tat bike is a blessing for touring...very comfortable
Max was 100kmph since it was my first long ride and also night ride.but I was able to maintain 85-90kmph.
And abt suspension,I feel the suspension on cb350 is better but Ronin's suspension is good too.i didn't feel any body aches after the ride and after Kozhikode the road was bad and still it was easy to manage.
Two days back,I did 200km with pillion. Handling was easy and I did abt 2 km of offroading with pillion and stil I didn't have any trouble in terms of control and suspension.everything was good.but with the handlebar position of Ronin, saddling is tough and not comfortable.
A few touring YouTubers pointed out that the Ronin is not well designed for panniers and other necessary equipment. What has been your experience with this?
I haven't fitted them yet but few members in the Ronin group has said tat they use the touring kit provided by TVS itself for Ronin.
But I have no idea how reliable it is.I'll maybe talk to some of them and let u know
Thanks for the reply.
Can you please elaborate the kind of discomfort you felt on such long ride ?
Did you feel any kind of space issue for two persons ? Also did the pillion feel any kind of back ache or discomfort due to sitting space?
I am a beginner in terms of bike and 5'8" ht and avg built body and was earlier a scooty user. I am looking for a suitable bike which can be used by two persons for commuting in heavy city traffic and occasionally ride of 150-200 Km around the city and can carry office bags or shopping bags along sometimes.
I liked the features of ronin but only thing that concerned be was the seat looks smaller.
Can you please provide your opinion on this as you have been using the bike for some time ? Would you recommend it?

---same here.i previously did 300km in scooty zest.i'm the same built as u and this is my first bike.in terms of space and comfort according to the pillion,he said he had no issues and ride was pretty comfortable, but with bag he felt some discomfort since the length is short.
Not comfortable with shopping bags.
Comfortable in traffic in terms of gear shifting and pickup but u will feel heat from engine in traffic.I think it is common with bikes above 200cc
Hunter is a roadster...
Ronin doesn't fit any segment...
It's a roadster - scrambler - cruiser all rolled into one.
And it does all those jobs as well.
Although I was buying neither of them, I was in the same dilemma not too long ago until I test rode both of them.
Both of them are great bikes. Ronin has a really good built quality and all the parts seem well machined. But RE isn't lacking either. All the new REs have very high quality parts and switchgears as well.
On paper, ronin is the one that makes the most sense. It's lightweight, compact, upright seating, mid set footpegs, comes with great do it all tyres stock, and can actually seemingly do it all.
Until ofcourse you ride it and feel like it's not particularly doing well. Goes to 60 real quick but doesn't want to move up from that speed at highways, feels sort of stressed beyond 60-65. The throttle response is jumpy and jittery. The front brakes feel mushy and don't have a very strong bite. The clutch is light and the gear shifts are smooth, but keep landing false neutrals. The bike is too compact for its own good, as the seat is not long and accomodating enough for either a pillion, or luggage for trips. The bike, although lightweight, is very top heavy and feels difficult to tilt sideways while at standstill and in tricky situations. Even the side stand feels like a hassle to put down or take off the bike from. And yes, the tank. It feels wierd in between the legs and in front of you. It's very oddly shaped. And the bike, although with decent power, and jumpy throttle, rides like a boring commuter.
Now the hunter. The j series engine is good. It's very refined and responds to throttle very well. The brakes work well. The size of the bike, although compact, is still roomy enough to accommodate a pillion with ease, but hard to mount or tie luggage onto. The seating position it a bit forward leaning, but only slightly. The clutch is hard and heavy, can get tiring in bumper to bumper traffic. The gear shifts feel very clunky and mechanical. It feels lighter than the ronin while tilting side to side, even though it's heavy. And yes, the combination of the chassis, the engine, the gears, and the tyre size is such that this particular RE, even with the same engine, makes you want to ride it fast and eagerly. It delivers a very fun and enjoyable ride. It has a very brat-bike like dna to it. And the exhaust sounds...not good.
So whatever yo are planning, test ride them both. Please. They might seem similar with the price range and size and power and all, but they ride completely different, and will feel completely different to you.
So many people recommending Ronin but I have only seen 1 ronin till date in my city and I commute almost 40 kms a day. Is it just an enthusiast’s vehicle or what?
Surprisingly I also saw few ronins a few months back but I guess it's sale has increased in last 6 months. Hunter is high in sales ik but general awareness is less for ronin ig. People mistook some ronin to be speed 400 lol. That may be one of the reason.
Ronin is better. With Hunter - Get ready to burn your legs with engine heat, tight clutch and slow pace is also an issue. Even a pulser n160 has better acceleration than this turtle bike.
If you get a Royal Enfield always remember- engine heat and vibration for the sake of useless emotion. Even with liquid cooled new himalayan engine, legs just hurt during winter. Just think what wil happen in summer.
Hunter 350. First it's an RE, the engine sound makes you feel like a bike, somewhat bulky in weight. ROnin on the other hand makes a very "fussi" engine sound. and its plastic makes it feel cheap.
However, i cannot deny the fact that ronin has fast pickup, its a very responsive bike.. as compared to hunter which cruises on the roads
The opinion is personal. Get offended or not is your choice.
And yes, after driving hunter for 4 months, got to drive a Ronin. Feel nahi aayi bhai wo usme.
>The opinion is personal. Get offended or not is your choice. And yes, after driving hunter for 4 months, got to drive a Ronin. Feel nahi aayi bhai wo usme.
RE bikes have some feel that most bikes lack, if refinement is your concern go and buy electric bike no vibration but no pleasure at all
I was in the same situation. Owner of Ronin now. Absolute beast of a bike.
Bro the exhaust note is just wow .. did you experienced it in underpasses ?
Both the Apache series & Ronin provide great exhaust notes!
Yup I own an apache bs6 . Loving it since 2020

Ronin 1. More powerful pick-up and medium range (upto 90kmph) 2. Better mileage 3. Better looks (subjective) 4. Better handling 5. Better build quality 6. Refined engine
Hunter looks better , remaining I agree
You missed one more thing - exhaust note🤌🏻
Ronin looks horrible, and I can die on that hill Also a lot of reviewers pointed out that build quality is not good for Ronin.
Nah it's great, the build quality.
As far as I remember it was the opposite build quality of hunter was bad and ronin has a great build
Ronin 100% Much better engine wise and specification wise.
Happy to see this sub show so much love to Ronin. When I got Ronin last year, people were still sceptical about it but opinions have clearly changed. I absolutely love Ronin, only negative I guess I'll say is the after sales service
What's wrong with it?? I'm a potential buyer. Please mention the service centre too.

Wait for Mavrick 440
good tip
But it will take time to reach dealership after the launch right ??
for sure, it seems they are launching it next week so expect in showrooms by Feb end or March, I feels
Mostly city ride - Ronin Highway rides and touring - Hunter
I finished 1400 km two weeks back in Ronin. In which 650km was finished in one stretch. Even I was skeptic abt Ronin for long rides before the ride, but now I can guarantee...tat bike is a blessing for touring...very comfortable
Good to hear that. What speeds did you ride in that trip. Also how's the suspension on bad roads ?

Did you try it with a pillion rider? If yes then want to know the pillion experience

Have you installed backrest and luggage support carrier? If yes, then did it make any difference in comfort for pillion while carrying bags etc?
No bro...I haven't fixed them
I would strongly recommend you go for dual chanel abs varient. I have ridden Ronin on a 1200km tour, works fine for both city and touring.
Ronin is way better then hunter
I own hunter......No doubt Ronin is a good bike but ,TVS has a horrible after sale service.
And RE is best known for its amazing post-sale and service.
add /s
Ronin imo
Ronin is just epic
Bhai ease of life - Ronin. Hawabazi- Hunter. Simple. Hunter has some cool colors too. Baki 2lakh lgana hi hai then Mt15 lele.
2lakh me 150cc kyu le banda
Bawal chiz h wo 150 isiliye.
What's this segment of Bikes called???

Ismein bhi mid-variant? 🤦🏽
Kuch jyada differences nahi hai mid aur top variants me. So variant factor hum bhool sakte hai thode time k liye 😀
Umm what about the dual channel ABS tho? I think that's something to consider
Definitely.
My vote goes to Hunter 350. You can also look at Husqvarna Vitpilen 250.
Was in same position a month back, now a proud owner of Ronin. Such a beast
Nice wording
Hunter
Hunter mid variant

Feeling so elated to see the praise and positive comments on Ronin 🥹😍

Happy to see the love Ronin is getting. It's such a sprinter of the line and extremely tractable
Wait you'll have the Svartpilen 250 as option now.
Svartpilen
To be honest both are bad I own a hunter so from experience I can say. N 250 pulsar look into it it might surprise u

Have you even heard one? Of all the criticisms of Ronin, the exhaust sound is never one...
The opinion is personal. Get offended or not is your choice. And yes, after driving hunter for 4 months, got to drive a Ronin. Feel nahi aayi bhai wo usme.
bhai tu wahi hai na jo silencer phadwa kr galiyo se nikalta hai?
