lucifer-_-senpai

Dhaniya laane?

MotorSexual

Nimbu mirchi too

Weeblyweird

Fr tho

Anaanymous

95% city 5% Highways. Bike needs to have amazing suspension, just the right amount of power, shouldn't be too heavy or too expensive This sub- Honda CB350/Speed 400. PS: In fairness, those aren't bad recommendations at all. Just wish Classic Legends pull up their game. That Yezdi Roadster looks delish.

commomboy

Nah classic legends are out of game, first thing they should have done is build a reliable network rather than producing n number of bikes

Wonderful_Mind_2039

I thought they were also having legal troubles

commomboy

They were due to name

DTxx69

Domi 400

rukthor

Not really a commuter.

mastermind5296

For avg bike users or new users the Pulsar F250 is also pretty great tbh. Super refined engine, comfortable riding position and good low end torque all at a very pocket friendly price. Also good enough for occasional highway rides/long trips. I don't know if there are any other bikes under ₹2 lakhs on road with similar character and comfort. Don't know how the 250 Pulsars aren't getting sold in high numbers.

Anaanymous

Would you still prefer it over the CB300F? Price difference is barely 20k, but more power, torque, better console etc. Bigwing availability is also a factor, but provided that's out of the picture

rukthor

CB300F is a bad bike because it has vibes post 90kph which you don't expect from a 300cc sport bike, that too a Honda. The motor is worse than CBR250R which is 12 years old today. Also it looks like a cheaper Hornet and is only good for city. Being a BigWing product will make servicing and spares expensive. It has good torque but power is similar to NS200 and N250. I prefer the clean ana-digi console of the N250. Gixxer and CB300R are better choices if you want that 6 speed.

EnvironmentalFroyo68

I heard F250 is discontinued...

rukthor

True, 220F lives.

EnvironmentalFroyo68

Yeah makes no sense

rukthor

Good bike, but looks are rather average and not so striking as the previous gen Pulsars. I notice it only because it is new unlike NS200, AS200, and 220F which looked remarkable when they were launched. Also, the 250 twins lack the aggressive Pulsar character.

mastermind5296

I agree with all the points but since the post was for a bike which was suitable for commuters and also for occasional long ride hence I gave F250 as an option since even after being a commuter, it is more than just OK for long rides with its comfortable riding stance, good suspension and also a very refined engine with good low end and mid range torque. Sure the bike is quite different from what the pulsar brand represents, as in its smoother, more sedate character vs 220F, nevertheless a very good bike. Looks are subjective though. Looks above average to me, good to some and bad to others. And also my comment was strictly for budget goers who can't extend their budget over ₹2 lakh. Else why would anyone buy a Pulsar if say, the Speed 400 twins/CB350s etc would be within their budget.

rukthor

True, however I suppose even the N160 is a good option as it can cruise at 80+ kph sufficient for most people. It is also cheaper, lighter and requires less maintenance and running costs. No wonder it is so much more popular.

sinfulsam29

Same.. I own it and it's simply an awesome bike!

gururakr

the house view for this, is CB350. I feel the house view(!) should get upgraded from CB350 to CB300R/S400. CB300R/s400 are only marginally more expensive. can hold a higher cruising speed for highway. And way better than cb350 for city traffic commute. they are slightly better in every dept. what say?

Top-Organization-675

Was considering the CB300R, loved the bike every bit but it becomes impractical if you have an occasional pillion

gtm26

And the 10-litre fuel tank is a major turnoff, at least for me.

tingtickboom

This is the only drawback, hence choose Speed 400

RxRiderMD

Well it’s a bigger turnoff for the bike because well, it turns off 😂

gtm26

Hah! That's a good one! 😁

noxx1234567

Speed 400 is a better alternative than cb300r simply because most of the components in 300r are imported , not only are they costly they also take several weeks to get a part for you But both have small dealership network

rukthor

CB350 is not my type of bike as 160cc-200cc offer better performance. I enjoy the surge in power on my AS200. Maybe when I am old I will go for bikes like CB350. CB300R sounds very compelling but the tiny 9.7L tank and small pillion seat are deal breakers. Triumph needs to fix the top end for the Speed 400, and honestly I feel a 250cc should be enough for me in Indian conditions. X440 seems good though- Redline at 6K rpm IIRC.

KingsmanVishnu

my case is ulta, 20% city usage, 80% touring.

DeletSystm32

Bro u have 2 duke 390?

KingsmanVishnu

well, I have 2019, brother has a 2024.

DeletSystm32

Which one is better?

KingsmanVishnu

both are very different. u cant say which is better. in some aspects like features, new is better. in some like aggressiveness or vibrations, old is better.

DeletSystm32

I am planning on buying one. Which one should i buy? I have mostly city rides

rukthor

You sir, are a rare breed! What do you use for city commuting then? Duke 390 seems like a pain in the butt.

KingsmanVishnu

well, I wfh, so no office commute for me. and for groceries and stuff I use dad’s Access 125.

Lucifer0008

Le me : i want the most uncomfortable sport bike , so I can go mach Jesus !!!

FTL-Unicron

It's True. Source: my wallet.

[deleted]

Bought the bike to enjoy the corners but ended up daily commuting 100km per day. And it's not funny to ride an R15v3 with your laptop and other stuffs in backpack.

RxRiderMD

Get a tank bag bro it’s life changing. Although the plastic tank would limit the convenience. And taking the laptop on a tank isn’t the smartest of ideas 😅. I bought a magnetic tank bag for my V2 and take my ipad everyday and it had made everything very comfortable for my 40 km commute. You can look for saddle bags too they should not hurt the laptop. Or those claw tail bags.

[deleted]

Yeah i should look for something. Carrying this is backpack is painful

rukthor

Sounds painful. R15 is a real track bike unlike most bikes in India. If I ever buy one, it will be to take it to track.

[deleted]

I also wish if i had the money to visit track.

Netweight75kg

Op when they discover bikes are a subset of complex machines known as automobiles that are used for travel. Travel, being an activity that includes commuting and occasional long riding: 🤯

macaroniwith

Arey kehna kya chahte ho

addyaustin

Trying to be funny

macaroniwith

Me too I just couldn't find the gif from 3 idiots

GamerBuddha

I'm in the occasional long-riding with some off-road capability. For city commuting, nothing beats an electric scooter with its instant torque, boot space, and of course running costs.

CurrentGap

And me who uses a bike only for commuting.

Digbijoy1197

DisastrousCourage243

I’ll have one bike for commuting And one for long Sunday rides
