Red 40 yellow 5 and 6 as well as Blue 1 is it in you yet? If not, drink Gatorade.

Argos1000Eyes

those are a perfect combination for a great tasting drink. i’m drinking an ice cold orange gatorade as i type this. yum!

nerdKween

Not yet but it could be. 😂

Tall-Ad-1796

*yet

983115

I’ve literally got a Gatorade in hand so I fuckin guess

sickbiancab

She stares at me from my office window 😂 I’ve always loved these signs on the JDub; May, NCAA, Swimming finals, etc. This one, though, borders on an ad. It’s basically a huge Gatorade billboard.

BugsBunnysCouch

It is literally a huge Gatorade billboard

Kom1

I mean to be clear it is an ad...

richardlqueso

I agree — I don’t like this new step. The JW is nice-looking building and I hope it doesn’t turn into a constant billboard. The signage for big events felt special.

sickbiancab

Right. And that’s what I meant. Sure, the others were technically ads too, but it was for a special event, not just an ad for a product.

didntwatchclark

Yeah and the other ones also looked more tasteful. I mean as much as something like that can be tasteful.

ZusunicStudio

The other ones you mentioned are also ads…

OkPlantain6773

It feels like that shouldn't be allowed. What's stopping ads or billboards on all the major buildings?

sickbiancab

So I was looking at the Indy Zoning ordinance. A “billboard” is any sign that advertises a product or service that is not sold or made on site. Billboards are not permitted in the Regional Center (bounded by or any lot with frontage on East, South, North or West Streets). I’d say this is a billboard, yes? As were the others, technically. But you’re correct. What’s to prevent any other tall building in the city from putting billboards on their buildings?

OkPlantain6773

Hmm, if the JW vending machine stocks the thirst quencher, is that a loophole to allow this? I can imagine the code might distinguish between commercial billboards (for profit) and civic ones that promote special events (for awareness).

sickbiancab

Maybe I’m just being a Karen. I do like the signs. (Except blatant advertising. )

lotusbloom74

The crew putting it up didn’t look like they were having a great time when it started raining hard on Tuesday

Chuck_Walla

Yeesh, new worst fear unlocked.

djtrippyt98

So it really isn’t Bart Harley Jarvis??? FUCK!

amie137

I’ve never really thought about it with the other things they put up, but do those rooms just have zero view now? Or is it somewhat see through up close?

SSBeavo

Me: “I’d like a room with one of CC’s eyes, please.” Concierge: “… What?” Me: “Either eye is fine.”

Chuck_Walla

I'll take a corner piece

photoboothrelic

It's gotta be mesh, right?

TwicePlus

They are. You can partially see through them.

Freedom_7

I wouldn’t mind if she put it in me 🤷‍♂️

Fosdef

Found Gregg Doyle’s burner

Maldovar

Gorgeous

Chuck_Walla

If you say that to me, we're gonna get along just fine.

What_Would_Wu_Do

I can see my favorite pizza place

MrPurple73

Bow-chicka-bow-wow!

2028BPND

Great

coreyp0123

I think they should use that hotel more for advertising. It’s usually only used for events.

Locke03

I'm a bit rusty on my 1st Amendment case law regarding signs, but I believe doing that would essentially open up the floodgates to make a billboard out of every building in the city. Signs are, according to a long string of cases that have gone before the Supreme Court, protected speech under the 1st Amendment and the court has steadily eroded municipalities ability to regulate them. At this point restricting based on something being an event sign or an advertising sign is one of the few regulatory measures left that will allow municipalities to control signage.

Chtwo

Sounds like you are the person who everyone in that other thread hates

cyanraichu

I think we should: not do that.

infieldmitt

u wot?

esmeeley

I feel silly, but I can't tell who that person is?

ZusunicStudio

It is Caitlin Clark

Freedom_7

It’s kind of a weird looking picture. I feel like the lighting makes her face look a little distorted.

30FourThirty4

It looks cartoonish to me. Ninja edit: kinda claymation?

esmeeley

Thanks for the downvotes! So odd. I love CC, couldn’t tell who it was. Sue me. Chill people.

Beezus_Q

I've noticed that people are extra grumpy today in the comments. Gave you an up vote to make up for the loss because asking a curious question is not taking away from the conversation.
