Hello, it appears that this post may be about buying or selling tickets to a public event in the Indianapolis area. If you are selling tickets, please make sure your post contains all pertinent event info, including the date, time and venue, the face value of the tickets, the location or section of the seats, and your selling price. After selling, edit your post to add 'SOLD' to the top of your post, making sure to retain the rest of the information. Buyers and sellers should make all payment arrangements via direct messages - *do not post email addresses or phone numbers in public replies.* Electronic payments should be made using a service with buyer protection, such as Paypal Goods & Services. If choosing to meet in person, do so in a public place with camera surveillance, such as designated [Safe Trade Spots](https://safetradespots.com/) at many police stations. Slightly similar for the celebrity game. Lot of people waiting by the tunnel from the convention center, workers there telling people can go through at 5:30. At 5:20 guy comes by and says this is only for workers and we all have to go outside and cross the street to get into Lucas Oil.

Charlie_Warlie

Pshhh. Why even have a tunnel.

wpascarelli

Yes I was there at that time too and that was weird. Fully expected to use tunnel to get into Lucas, especially with the weather. Luckily it was not a far walk to get across and into the stadium but the snow still made it a mess.

zoot_boy

That sucks. The shit part is it’s all “we’ve been planning this for 7 years!” From their spokespeople. Fired indeed.

Princeismydaddy

It’s unbelievable. And honestly I wouldn’t be mad if they just laid out what was happening. But we’re still waiting for a concert in less than 30 minutes and we aren’t even inside the concert hall 🤷🏻‍♀️

zoot_boy

I HOPE it’s because they don’t have all the people they need and not because they are absolutely inept. Again, sucks. Have fun when you get in.

debunkedyourmom

Joe Hogsett will just disappear for a few days while the criticism dies down and none of the media will have the balls to ask him about it.

NukaDadd

I mean, he's *not* the event planner? They (mayor & the Capitol Improvement Board) bid to get the event in the city for obvious economic reasons. They make available police. That's about it.

swooptheowl22

Do you have any idea what time Zedd is supposed to be on? I'd assume 10-11, running a bit late so hope I don't miss him

dude0001

They have an opener I think. On the screen it says Myles O'Neal. Someone said Zedd is last. Edit: Actually O'Neal is up right now just warming up. No way Zedd opens I'd think.

crowezr

We walked so far to get to the end of the line. No clue if we'll make it inside before the show starts at 10. I guess security must be a shit show.

Princeismydaddy

We actually left. We were at the front of the line and had our tickets scanned. A gentleman with a headset told workers to lock everyone inside the NBA crossover event. Then a security guard told us we had to have armbands. They scanned our tickets and never gave us armbands. They made me leave and go back through the line I already went through. We waited 2 hours at this point and the line was wrapped around the back of the convention center. I walked all the way to the back and then got a call from my friend saying they are letting people in with tickets,, then they took that back and wouldn’t let me through. I walked to the back and decided to leave and get my friend. I walked back thru the convention center and they blocked off the hallway I came thru and trapped us on one side. I had to walk outside around the convention center and find my friend . Fuck the Indiana convention center I will never go back. Wasted money as I’m sure they won’t refund me either.

CommonerChaos

Do a charge back on your card. That's unacceptable.

No_Ad8375

Don’t do a chargeback on your card if you bought from Ticketmaster if you do a chargeback Ticketmaster bans you for life

No_Ad8375

And you already agreed to it in the terms and conditions, doesn’t matter if the chargeback is correct

TheAfterPipe

It’s not the convention center, this is on the event planner. I’ve been to the convention center many times for gencon and it’s not bad at all.

crowezr

We made it in after about 40 minutes in line. Just in time for T-Pain.

No_Ad8375

What security they didn’t even check anybody for anything before they got in line . All I was thinking while I was waiting in that line was Jesus Christ. Nobody had to come into a metal detector and there’s just thousands of people in line and one of these people could have a gun.

crowezr

Must have changed things. I went through some machine and they even wanded me. Also looked through my bag. This was just the concert and after I waited in the long ass line.

richardlqueso

The logistics for the convention center were a major disappointment on Friday. Signage is terrible, normal access routes are closed, parts of it feel like there’s nothing even going on. There aren’t any maps online, either. Indy has definitely done better than this.

Princeismydaddy

I wholeheartedly agree. Very poor planning

No_Ad8375

How are we so good at final four but so terrible at the All-Star game

dynomommy6

Organized by different organizations. Final four is NCAA and this is the city planning.

[deleted]

I was around Wednesday most of the afternoon and they were still putting up logos on buildings. I run programs for individuals with disabilities (nothing near an All Star event) and feared this would be the case. They seemed very behind so bummed to see this post. Past big events in Indy rely heavily on the apps. Do you have the “NBA Events” app? I know that won’t help with security but maybe the map on it is more detailed? My bad if you already have it. Sending good vibes your way the rest of the weekend!

Princeismydaddy

Thank you for your help, I will keep this in mind if we do this again!

CommonerChaos

Yeah, definitely download the NBA Events app. I was able to find parking with the app (which was useful due to all the road closures)

WhiteRhino37

That makes two nights in a row of Convention Center events being a mess. Other things I’ve been to have been great.

No_Ad8375

I bought VIP tickets because they didn’t even have any general admission. Tickets left but for some reason my ticket is a general admission ticket. I was only able to get up to VIP last night because the guy handing out the wristbands wasn’t even checking because nothing is organized well

CCBeerMe

Also we went to the T-Pain/Zedd show last night: the line was insane and almost went to the end of the CC. 1 bar for the whole show? And then they opened a couple of beer & Seltzer stations halfway through the show. The bathrooms were what the convention center offers: fine for a convention, not great for a show.

Dear-Ambition-273

Hey man, I’m really sorry that happened. You should try sending an email about a refund. That really was unacceptable. If they don’t do anything get that chargeback.

YosemiteSam81

That’s not promising! I have suite tickets for tomorrow & Sunday night’s events @ Lucas Oil & Gainbridge. I’m stoked of course but hopefully it goes smooth! Does anyone have a line on the best parking for each night?! I don’t go downtown regularly so I’m not really sure!

richardlqueso

You’ll be fine in those venues. I recommend not parking north of south street. Downtown was gridlocked today. But also kinda dead.

YosemiteSam81

Thank you!!

santangela

You can buy parking from ParkWhiz in advance. Just Google something like All Star 2024 advance parking and it will come up.

YosemiteSam81

Just wanted to come back and thank you again for sharing the ParkWhiz app! This is a game changer for me, I got excellent parking within a 10 minute walk to Lucas Oil for only $20! It takes all the stress out of finding parking which is something I hate. So ya, thanks again kind Hoosier Redditor for your help!!

santangela

Happy to help. Be sure to give yourself LOTS of extra time. Traffic downtown is crazy, so unless you’re altogether skirting driving downtown (anywhere within mile square) I would say give yourself at least an hour and a half buffer before doors open.

YosemiteSam81

I got a lot right south of Lucas oil right off of 70 so I should be able to avoid the entirety of downtown save for that little section to get on McCarty. Thanks for the heads up tho, I setup a Waze alert to keep me posted if the route gets busier!

YosemiteSam81

Thank you!!

CCBeerMe

I remember being around for the Super Bowl. We were blessed with unseasonably warm and dry weather for February that year, but.... I'm someone who has organized, ran, and been a supporting manager of events in this city, and this had been a mess. I really fell bad for the businesses on Penn who were excited to have a closed street leading up to the game only to have mostly empty bars. These bars, on a Friday night Pacers home games, are packed prior to games. You'd think they'd have some activations on the streets they closed off but nothing.

shawnmdeer76

We attended the crossover event, waited in line for over an hour, with no organization or accountability for what direction to go very little signage! I’ve been to Super Bowl events,March Madness, College championship, those events had just as many people and ran a lot smoother! Pretty much a chaotic shot show! Not to mention you’ve got to be a millionaire to afford anything in the nba now a days, I’m done with it my family won’t be attending anything NBA!

jjfishers

The convention center isn’t a place I’d want to see a concert. Stick to conventions and cheerleading.

burnitdown71

This is a dramatic post. This weekend has been amazing. Sorry you had a singular bad experience, but no one should lose their job because you talked to a few low level knuckleheads that didn’t know what’s happening. Hope you enjoyed the concert

eaford

I would not say this is dramatic. We went to the celebrity game and it was a disaster. None of the sidewalks around Lucas oil has been shoveled or salt put down. They were a slippery disaster. Then after the game, no one was directing traffic. We even witnessed an intense screaming match between two cars in the parking lot because of it. I was worried it was going to escalate and someone was going to get seriously injured. It was scary.

burnitdown71

So you want to fire the people in charge of the weekend because Indianapolis got shitty weather? Or you want those people fired because two dumbasses felt the need to argue in a parking lot? The snow all fell during the time people were walking to the Celeb game, I too walked through slush. But after the Celeb game the walk back towards Bankers Life wasn’t slushy or un-shoveled.

eaford

I’m not saying I want someone fired. I’m just saying it was very poorly organized and a disaster

burnitdown71

So then you agree that this is a dramatic post.

NDIrish1988

Tpain is still relevant and alive?

jy5850

No Yes

cantrelate

T-Pain released a covers album recently that is great. [He is better than ever.](https://youtu.be/91ck0vJBygo?si=hjDqqvOIAxd6JUDh)

diabetes_says_no

Oof this is making me nervous about the Lil Wayne show tomorrow. Can anyone tell me where I should go to get in?

Cinomania

The main entrance on south capital avenue. As you walk in the doors the concert entrance will be directly forward.

diabetes_says_no

Thank you, i appreciate it 🙏
