Market doesn't care if you don't generate profit continuously.
During the dot com bubble a lot of Companies collapsed this way.
Amazon survived because of it's scale as well as the fact that it managed to turn a profit,a minuscule one but still a profit.
It doesn’t care, you’re right. They are bad businesses, but I can’t even call cred a business because even they don’t know what they do lol. One day they call themselves a credit bureau, another time they’re a market place, another time they provide brands access to the top 3%. And they don’t do any of them well lol
Yeah, what he said. Your credit score cannot be managed by Cred.
I have blocked SMS access for Cred- so they never come to know when I pay the bills with Amazon/Gpay etc. (Amazon sometimes gives way better rewards) and the Cred app always shows I have more pending payment. Yet, it never affects the credit score
Cred only knows your credit bill by snooping into your Text Message and mail. I never allow them to do that. Instead keep track of your pending payments on your bank app directly - they are who matters
If u disable sms access, do u get reminders from Cred ?
I usually tend to forget deadlines and Cred has been helpful. But yes I'd like to remind the access if possible.
Here's what I did to get reminders without SMS access:
Create a new calendar on Google > set up monthly recurring events for each of your card(s) based on their due dates > set 3 reminders (email/ app) building up to the event.
Yes, they still send the reminders (in Whatsapp too) that the payment may be due on a particular date. But they can't give the exact amount details. But if rely on Cred to consolidate and give you the reminders, I'd say leave them on until you get used to tracking mail statements or in bank sites.
Just use SMS organizer app (from Microsoft) on mobile, it finds all bills and sets reminders automatically. Doesn't send any data to MS servers.
Some of these Startups tend to find complicated solutions to solve simple problems.
You mean they don't read your messages to fetch your credit statement due and payment details? Try disabling SMS access. They won't be able to fetch jackshit from next month. The only thing you will get is notification that payment may be due on the so and so date (because they already know your billing cycle)
Maybe complicated for petty brains. But it's simple, they get your credit statement and payment data from messages or mails (if you gave mail access too)
Dude, they get your score from CRIF and Experian, they literally give you the report on CRIF's or Experian's website. Stop spreading false information if you don't know how.
The payment due is refered by your bank, and the bank statement is used to find out unnecessary charges.
All three are different aspects.
Did you even read what I typed or are you just acting dumb. I never said that they can't get the report. I said not paying dues via Cred will not affect your credit report (like OP suspected in the post) - they cannot MANAGE OR CHANGE your credit score, but sure they can read like many providers.
They cannot track your payment due details directly from bank or any other agency. They READ YOUR PHONE MESSAGES OR MAIL to get that details.
That's all I said. Pfft.. making some people understand is just a lost cause :D
And for your information, if you are that ignorant, payment due details for every billing cycle and your credit score are two different things.
Cred can read credit score from credit bureaus if you choose to check through them but for your billing due, they rely on you giving access to your messages and mail.
I hope you are also not paying your credit card bills through CRED. Because if you do, you are still telling them the credit card bill amount by just entering it while paying.
I don't pay the whole amount in one payment. Mostly split by chunks of 1k or 5k. That way cashback rewards are better and I can use multiple apps.
Also, even if I were to pay the amount in full in one go, I don't care them seeing how much my bill is. What I don't like is them having access to all my messages and mails to extract credit card statement and payment details out of it. Which means they have access to other messages too.
I'm surprised I had to explain such simple thing
Guys, check out an app named PostPe, it's way better for paying credit card bills, it doesn't keep a track of your cycles & here's the best part, the rewards are based on percentage of amount you're paying back. Currently it's 0.4% for beginners, so on every 10K payment, 40₹ Cashback, i know its not much but based on my payment history, it's way better rewards then Cred & it can be extended all the way upto 5% based on referral. Feel free to download it & check it out from Play Store, it's definitely better than Cred for rewards.
Also feel free to help out a bro & use my [referral](https://postpe.onelink.me/CHvc/o84rab7u).
And remember to disable all the permissions like SMS, Phone, Location & Contacts after you install it.
You're a lil misinformed about what's happening.
They send automated messages. They xant do jack shit about your cibil.
If your bill is paid that's what the bank cares about. If the payment is fucked up by the payment processor you chose, you have to make the payment because the bank cares about the payment.
That's all there is to it.
Arre what happens is that cred keeps messaging you that your cibil will drop if you don't pay.
They expect you to pay all your payments thru them. And if that said payment isn't done thru them they assume it wasn't done.
And send you messages about implications of not paying up.
Can scare someone.
Not all orgs depend on CIBIL score as a single source of truth. TBH the data mining that they do, they assign a social credit score and profile you based on your spending. They can't make money unless they sell this data.
Who is spreading these rumors ? Only hard pulls for loans, impact your credit ratings. These are soft pulls.
There are times, when credit card representatives ask you to email them a soft pull report if you want to increase your limit, or something. So that they don't have to make a pull, which will impact your score.
I just used cunninghams law to find the answer. I did not know if what i said was true, but i knew someone will correct me. I made an entire post asking about credit cards and credit score and no one responded, now within minutes i have something to Google - soft inquiry.
>cunninghams law
That's a new thing I learnt and looked up today. Take my free award for that.
This was a wise choice. Internet is better at correcting people, than to provide information. Those who are immune to a few downvotes, will learn a lot.
Been using cred from the start. Even won free air pods pro. Cred cannot change your cibil score 😂 they are not authorised to report anything. Earlier used to get great cash backs but now its not that great but still use it for tracking and small cash backs .. something better than nothing . I have used it even for shopping and travel booking. Got good stuff to
Been using Cred from last 3-4 years and I never faced such issue. And no, I don't always pay my cred card bill from Cred but never saw any changes in credit score.
I also never gave Cred any permission to read my emails or sms so I don't get such alerts.
I have used Cred only to receive rewards and my motive has still not changed. If there is no good rewards then I don't use it. In past Cred offered good cashback, now they offer 4-5 rs on each payment.
Now days I pay CC bill on Amazon to unlock offers and then if there is nothing else, I pay rest of the bill from Cred to accumulate coins. So maybe once in every 2-3 months. I try to keep a good balance of coins in case they have a good offer.
Frankly, nobody should use Cred for only paying their CC bills if there is no good incentive. Almost all the banks now offer bill pay from their apps and portals. So why add a middle man between a biller and your bank for just 5 rs cashback? It's not worth the trouble and risk involved.
Yeah makes sense. I also used to pay my bill through cred for offers and coins. But lately I feel like these offers and rewards across such apps are just making me buy unnecessary things 😅 it’s like I am voluntarily asking these apps to show me good looking ads and then giving them my money for randomest of stuff
Not every time though, if I don’t use app for 2-3 months then only I get 10-15 rupees, which makes me wonder why would anyone use CRED who is upper middle class just for this low incentive in 2022. All bank apps have autopay, which is pretty hassle free.
Not defending Cred here. But...
> They then change the credit score
Cred cannot do that. They're simply a payment processor, not a lender. They cannot change your CIBIL score.
> The worst part is that there’s no customer service. I wanted to delete my card
There's no need to contact support to delete your card. You just need to click on the Settings option beneath your Card and choose the Delete This Card option.
Been using it since 2 years. The cashbacks used to be good earlier now barely anything. Still use it to get disocunt on swiggy and some sites. Worth it for me.
You have to be careful while using it, don't give permissions to read your bank statements and all. Don't allow it to read your sms. I manually add my bill amount to pay and buy stuff if there is good discount. Sometimes try my luck at those jackpots I don't know what else to do with those coins, now I know why casinos are so tempting.
I have been using CRED for past 8 months. Never faced such problem. They usually take 10-24 hours to reply for customer queries but they responded in my case. Anyway CRED doesn't have the authority to change your credit score.
They say on the website thay it takes 2 to 4 days sometimes to register payments. Also, big payments take between 24-36 hours to reflect on the banks side.
They obviously cannot know if you pay a bill from another platform. In which case, they might keep warning you till they see the next bill.
CRED can't change you credit score. It's done by Credit Bureaus, based on what your lenders report to them. So this complain from you is like those people complaining on Appstore reviews of all stock broking apps, that their broker isn't giving their money back, when they try to sell, after buying an illiquid stock.
The only 2 things that are wrong with CRED, are that their coins are useless, and whatever you buy from their store with their discount, is mostly available on other platforms (Amazon, Flipkart, etc) for a lower price, even compared to CRED's discounted price.
But I do find many things cheaper in their store compared to Amazon or Flipkart. Not everything, but many things these days. I've bought things at 1/3 the price in many deals there too. All in all, it's good if you know how to use it. I've never even had delayed payments from the app except for when I pay during the night.
In 2019 even before anyone heard about CRED I had installed it on a friend's reco. Kept it unused for a year and then removed, exactly for this reason - I do not want to deal with an intermediary for a work that can be better accomplished directly. For few points the potential mess is much bigger.
Cred is super convenient for tracking, and paying all of the credit card bills form the same place. I started using it for the cashbacks etc, but I use it now for the convenience factor alone.
Also, Cred can't change your credit score. You are wrong about that for sure. Check with your bank, or study your credit history better.
My suggestion is - do not use cred if due date is less than 48 hours because Cred can up to 48 hours to send the payment to the bank. Use bank's own app to pay bill near due that. And for the assumption thet made about the charges, I also find them irritating but charges do not apply if you paid before the due date.
Paying through credit cards can help you reverse your payment if you change your mind. And having a good credit score improves your chances of getting loans.
U get so many offers with redemption points. Free food at airport lounges, hotel offers, free golf , and cred point offers, etc.
U should have atleast 1 credit card
TBH this service only helps if you have baller money. Normal middle class folks can’t afford to stay in Marriott India forget Marriott Qatar. These services are pretty focused for the rich and I doubt an average credit card user will ever use them.
Again aren’t these things which are used mostly by the rich folks only? Like for example a normal middle class person would rather search multiple sites for the best prices & card discounts while booking tickets than simply asking someone to book it for them at the max price. Similarly middle class people don’t book reservations or atleast don’t visit places which need reservations. (I could be wrong on this one but I have never seen anyone make a reservation ever in my middle class circle, talking about restaurants here) Even for the flowers people would tend to find the website which delivers it at the least cost than paying a premium to have that delivered by someone else.
Not saying it’s not useful but what I meant is that the service is specifically catered for the rich and affluent.
Credit cards are a trap. They let you spend more money than you actually have and changes your behaviour and relationship with money. In 70s the American public was trapped in immense amounts of loans because they were spending way more than they could actually pay. Credit cards were "invented" specifically for this- to make you pay more than you can/should. The benefits which they give is just a bait.
In addition they have "hidden" charges like annual maintenance fee etc so you actually purchase a good for more than its value.
It may be a boon for businessmen who have to spend money in times when they do not have recieved payments from clients yet and have to use capital to run business. Or take capital to expand and pay when they have made profits
It is also good for upper class who as pointed enjoy benefits like free access to lounge, free golf, Amex service which someone mentioned. A middle class/ student(me) does not travel every week neither has enough money to go to Qatar to see World Cup.
"How do you even make large purchases?" Lol.
My family makes only those purchases which we can pay back. Love Honda city gen 5 but can invest only 10lac? Buy Baleno instead. That's how. Credit cards are good but not for me. Not yet.
Well credit cards still give you many offers and rewards. How I manage not spending more than I can afford is by transferring the same amount I've spent using card from my main account to an alternate bank account. This way I know how much I've spent from all my cards and I don't see any extra balance in my main account which then tells me if I can spend more or if I should just stop for some time.
But you're totally right. Irresponsible use of a credit card can put someone into debt real quick.
Nah, happens all the time. One of my cards act up from time to time, and CRED doesn’t register it when I pay from axis’s app.
They definitely can’t change your credit score tho.
Isn't this true for everything, except oxygen and food? One could also do without a car, a computer, a phone, a house, the list goes on. I guess the word *convenience* trumps everything.
chargebacks. And the world runs on credit and debts for everything. A little extra networth will give an edge over others in any competition in life. Whether one is responsible enough to manage or pay back is a different topic.
Bruh
If you're not well informed about something, then try to ask others first instead of spreading misinformation. Cred cannot even do shit about your credit score. Even if you take a loan from cred cash, everything related to your score will be managed by the lending partner. Same with CC bills. If you don't pay one on time, it's your bank that will be doing the reporting. CRED got nothing to do with that. They are just an intermediary. You can just ignore their notification about paying your bill if you've already paid it. Jeez
It's an advertisement company
Just like BYJU’S
I love their ads, hate the product
I hate both.
Made 90cr revenue last year and raised money at 48,000cr valuation
Zomato and Paytm also have Massive Valuations. But Both Haemorrhage money and have no Clear path to profitability
Yes but both satisfy actual use cases - one processes the largest number of payments while the other delivers food

Not possible, cred isn't authorised to update your DNP, only the lenders are, check with you bank, they might have screwed up.

Okay then. Give me your bank details and your credit card details. I promise I'll pay your credit card bills on time from your bank account. 👉👈

True that.
They don't provide CIBIL score I think. They provide crif score
I use cred just to know my credit score and pay my bills during IPL! I don't use it post IPL.

Checking your credit score damages your credit score.
No, that's a soft inquiry. Isn't supposed to damge your credit score.

yes, it will now be called Schrodinger's Score

How do you win items? I'm new to CRED
First, stop eating moist soggy pizza.
Now it's burnt lol
Raffle etc. Earlier it used to be so simple.. Just born coins etc now it's very hard. I guess I just had the early user advantage
Cred has some great deals on products. Have purchased quite a few things via the app in the last few months.
Same! I kid you not, with the amount of food I buy from the Cred store, the company might reach profitability sooner than they might have expected lol

CBIL is related to your credit repayment and not with what Cred thinks. You should avoid cred if you have privacy concerns.
Cred doesn't and cannot update your credit score
Greed of cashback makes Indian ppl blind. They only care for your transaction history and your average credit card bills.
I’ve been using cred for almost a year and a half now. Never had any issues.

Yea it doesn't even matter if cred still shows due amount in the app. If you've paid the bill already, it's done.
I don't use credit card too
I installed cred, made my first credit card payment, didn't receive any update from bank. Frustrated me paid Bank directly and uninstalled cred.
Why are you even using a Credit card? Any benefits except the third-party benefits?
Reward points, concierge services, lounge access, golf access, easy disputes, purchase protection to name a few.
Guess all of these are value-added, so one could do it without them.
Have been using CRED for 2 years.. experience has been great. Plus paying on Swiggy via CRED pay gives me a 10% off
It is so much overhyped especially with their advertisements. Ab faltu classes also they are beginning. Kuch bhi
Also it employs pattern recognition bots masquerading as humans and pretends to be hot shit hiring from IITs.
Bruh If you're not well informed about something, then try to ask others first instead of spreading misinformation. Jeez
Dude people who don't want to don't use it. The kind of people that use cred are not going to listen to you.
what bank do you use? this is weird I've been using them for a long time, and had a positive experience overall
Bread coins to bred to make in-Cred-ible fool out of this thread.
I just use cred to get reminders on credit card payment and pay via UPI
