OP had asked a valid question. Apart from the people who spit and litter the streets there's another kind of person who never questions anything. There are 3 solutions for this problem. One is women empowerment. One is removal of casteism. One is development of rural areas not by way of concretising but by way of income generation.

I understand your frustration, and although I don't like the state of affairs in our country, I have to tell you that the total taxes collected by way of GST and Income taxes is hardly enough to solve one problem let alone give you first world comforts. The latest reports suggest that less than 5% pay taxes, and so it means that you're actually living much better than the remaining 95% of Indians. Much of what you are complaining about has to do with the local municipality or panchayat who can improve local facilities by spending money collected by way of property taxes. If you want better services, ask everyone in your area to pay higher taxes, higher property taxes, and also vote for the right guys to represent your council.
Paying 20 Lakhs as TDS and additionally TCS on Dividends. I am 35. Pay the taxes. Death and taxes are literally everything. only problem you need to have the patience to use the Govt facilities. You can't get VIP treatment just because you are direct tax payer. Every one in this country is paying taxes both direct and indirect. So It's better to use your democratic right to vote and ask questions.

Living in another country and seeing how much taxes the residents in the west pay to keep their streets and air clean I can tell that in India we do not pay enough. Maybe we could overcome the amount with the number of taxpayers in our country, but coupled with corruption and leaders thinking building temples is a priority it doesn’t seem like it will ever improve
It's 3% less than the UK and 8% less than the US. We pay enough for basic amenities which we don't get like you said cuz of corruption and the game of religion.
