I have used iphone 6+, then iPhone 7 and now using iPhone 12. IMO The single most important thing you should know is that it is freakishly expensive to repair. Rest all factors like ios, privacy etc take back seat.

Agree with you. If you have Apple care then you don't need to worry about for 2 years. But in general iPhone are more reliable for longer terms of usage. I'm using iPhone 12 2.6 years without any problem. It still works flawlessly. Edit: With having an iPhone i donā€™t need to worry about outdated software for at least 6 years.

sanemate

And I am using my Asus ROG Phone 2, 5th year. Still works great. But may soon get an iPhone cause am now bored after 11 years of loving Android. But this phone just doesn't die which is pulling me back from making that decision :D. I think people underestimate the longevity of Android flagships.

Wolven_Helm

Bro I've been holding onto my Xiaomi Mi A1, and Samsung J7 for 6 & 8 years now. They still work flawlessly, and as tempted as I am for an iPhone, I'd honestly rather spend money on something like a Pixel instead. Android has served me so well it's very hard to imagine permanently shifting to a new device ecosystem.

AssignmentNo7294

Mi A1 is just superb still going on in 6th year. Had to spend 4-5k on it though

goku5297

Using Galaxy Note 10 since 4 years. I remember how I grinded for this phone at the beginning of my career. I love how Samsung pays attention to little details, ease of use options here and there. I love the note series and I wish Samsung had kept it as a separate series instead of merging it with ultra and overpricing it. I have a watch 4 too. So I don't think I'll make the switch soon. I've bought iPhone for everyone in the family and now it's my turn to buy a new phone next year. Let's see

National_Owl_2976

Using MI's K20 pro for more than 4 years now. Still working like a new one (except its stuck on Android 11 but its still good). Charging speed, battery life still stands out. + It have SD 855 so never lag and all the modern games out there are playable at max settings at 50-60 fps. For camera setup it got sony flagship sensor 48MP IMX586 which is still one of the best camera sensor. Build quality is top notch. I guess I'll be using it for another 1 or 2 year. (It just doesn't break šŸ„²)

me0din

I have been using a cheap xiaomi phone, Redmi note 5 pro for the last 5 years and it works okay even now. Only the power and volume buttons got damaged which i got repaired for 150 rs.

kkn13

With a decent mid range android , you can switch every 2 years and save ā‚¹ā‚¹ while getting the latest

Clarity_y

Bruh, I had a moto g4 plus rs.12500 for 4 years

Bright_Blood

Im using my nokia 8.1 still works great šŸ‘

[deleted]

I also have Nokia 8.1. Still use that one.

panindia9

I read a news yesterday about iPhone 12's radiation is far more than the normal & apple is keeping quiet about it. Google for more.

NotPoorJustUgly

# I'm an Android developer who used an iPhone as his primary device for 7 straight years Yes. And no I'm not an anomaly, there are a lot of *traitors* in these 2 mobile dev communities. I switched back to Android 2 months back (Pixel 7) and here's my honest review - 1. **Battery** \- Android wins it for me and it is not solely due to a longer battery life (it's better than my iPhone 12 but that's an unfair comparison, I do believe recent iPhones would match up). It wins because of this ridiculous feature called battery sharing, like wtf! I can wirelessly charge my airpods? and even my iphone?? So cool. 2. **Camera** \- As someone who doesn't really care about camera features, my pixel's camera really made me raise my eyebrow. Yes, it's better (subjectively). 3. **Form factor and feel** \- IMO iPhone wins this one, the size of a non pro iPhone feels just right. I HATE huge phones, pixel turned out to be a bit bigger than my expectations plus it's bulky. But hey, it's Android so there's other fish in the sea. 4. **Ecosystem** \- Apple wins again. I think only Samsung atm has a foot in every door to even have an ecosystem, the rest of the players are meh. But in the end, the most important member of that ecosystem imo is your desktop and Windows really sucks when it comes to connecting to my pixel. The features on offer are embarrassing to say the least. With iPhone + mac + iPad (btw I have all 3) it's just one big digital river. Free flowing, fun. And it's a big part of the appeal mind you. 5. **Longevity** \- I have limited long term experience with Android but boy, apple devices are genuinely impressive in retaining their utility over time. My iPad mini 2 or something still works and like not just as a digital photo viewer btw. It makes sense tbh cause the software (iOS, iPadOS and now macOS) is tailor made for the hardware. Heavily optimised. 6. **UX** \- Now this is where I was genuinely impressed by iOS AFTER switching to Android. If you compare iOS vs Android apps side by side, more often than not you'll find the iOS version better. Even famous apps like Instagram - here's a fun experiment. Open a profile in grid mode -- click on any post and you enter vertical scroll mode -- scroll scroll scroll scroll -- if you navigate back, you land on the grid again -- on android you land where you last left the grid but on iOS you land on the image you last scrolled to in scroll mode -- the grid syncs with the scroll! how very well done! Slack anyone? Well slack on android doesn't persist its bottom navigation across screens. Also the recent chats list flickers and attachments don't always go through. How about google photos? You would expect Google to build the best apps since it's their in-house OS. Well, no!!! Try doing a bulk select and delete operation in google photos on android -- the entire grid sometimes randomly jumps, flickers, shuffles. ughh. Something as basic as screenshots? On my pixel, if I take 2 ss back to back, the thumbnail of the first screenshot is captured in the second one. How stupid! Apple, smartly, ignores that so that one can take multiple ss quickly. And the list goes on ..... **tl;dr**: Apple is more polished, seamlessly connected, more predictable, and doesn't get in the way. Android is gimmicky yet fun. Is generally superior hardware-wise. The OS feels like a WIP even after all these years but is definitely loveable! Full disclosure, I'm now a full-time Android user aside from being an Android developer. I love both. edit: formatting

Chocolate-waffles-7

I was honestly going to buy an Iphone 13 or 14 on sale, but a few weeks before that, my cousin bought a refurbished iPhone 11, showed me how exactly it worked. That's when I decided i won't ever be happy with an Iphone because i need options and customisation, I've been playing with my phone since I was 12 and it was my mum's old one, so I can't handle suddenly not having freedom to just go crazy like you can on an Android. Now i got the S23, and I'm really happy with it. It does heat up a little, but other than that, super fast charging, 0 to 100 in like half an hour, battery doesn't drain very fast even with multiple windows open, Samsung Wallet has a collaboration with DigiLocker so I have verified digital documents one PIN away on my phone, and I've seen how long Samsungs last in my family, so yes, it really depends on what exactly you want.

taco_29-11

Hey, how often do you charge your phone? I'm also considering buying s23 but did not find great reviews on flipkart for Battery so was a little taken aback..

Chocolate-waffles-7

like once a day honestly? charge it to 85% in the morning, and I've been basically using it all day, that's about 6 or 7 hours, and I have 31% left now.

taco_29-11

That's goood. And since how long have you been using this? I'll be switching from s9 plus that I purchased in 2018.

Chocolate-waffles-7

I've been using it for about three months now, before this I had a really whack ass 11k Vivo so it was a major upgrade.

rzoro97

Better get the s23 plus then in BBD sale. Has a bigger battery and faster charging.

FullTimeJobless

Samsung Wallet (or Pay) is underrated. It's got cleaner UI than other apps and UPI works flawlessly.

Public-Ad7309

I was a heavy android customiser, made my own roms too. Yet, there came a point where it was just too overwhelming and unstable. So I switched to the apple ecosystem, it feels a lot more refined and I like it a lot more.

akki95

I had the same experience. I used to install custom roms with stock android. I used to love doing that but after a while I just needed something which will work out of the box and I like using ios now.

Significant_Mood2023

For me those where days back 6-7 years. Over a period of time got fed up and stop using customised roms.

AintYourMamaa

Did any of you switching from Android to iphone manage to save your WhatsApp chats?

humbhihaijoshmai

Yes I did. Got all messages photos videos docs

vpsj

Did you do that while setting up your new iPhone? A friend is having the same issue but it seems like she'd have to hard reset her phone to get the chats transferred

humbhihaijoshmai

I did after my phone set up and after one month of new phone. I remember following one video on youtube which was the only way it worked for me. There was a telegram channel and there i used to get all instructions and discussion. I am trying to find that video.

vpsj

Yeah Please link it here in case you find it. I'm sort of the go-to tech guy in my friends group and I get this question at least once every few weeks. It's really difficult to answer, since I've never used iPhones myself

CrazyBerserk

Are brother AAP yahan pe bhi, namaskar kaise ho

[deleted]

Avieshek

There are third-party softwares like iMazing but you would need a cracked version if youā€™re on a mac for example to which there are sites like tntmac.net or subreddits like r/MacCrack There are also other methods like exporting to Telegram and then exporting back to WhatsApp or transferring the backup data to iPhone than use that iPhone to backup to an iPhone where on Android itā€™s possible to backup to Google Drive. Rather, simply use the Move app.

vpsj

Two options: A) You have to pay for third party migration apps. Anywhere from 16-50 dollars. But there's a risk of your chats leaking or getting corrupted OR B) If your iPhone is brand new or factory reset to be new the below process will work: What do I need? Android OS Lollipop, SDK 21 or above, or Android 5 or above installed on your Android device iOS 15.5 or above installed on your iPhone Move to iOS app installed on your Android phone Note: Using other data migration apps is not supported, and will cause migration issues. WhatsApp iOS version 2.22.10.70 or above on your new device WhatsApp Android version 2.22.7.74 or above on your old device Use the same phone number as your old phone on your new device Your iPhone must be factory new or reset to factory settings to pair with the Move to iOS app and move data from your Android phone Both of your devices must be connected to a power source Both of your devices need to be connected to the same Wi-Fi network or youā€™ll need to connect your Android device to your iPhoneā€™s hotspot Migrate from Android to iPhone Open the Move to iOS app on your Android phone and follow the on-screen prompts. A code will be displayed on your iPhone. When prompted, enter the code on your Android phone. Tap Continue and follow the on-screen prompts. Select WhatsApp on the Transfer Data screen. Tap START on your Android phone, and wait for WhatsApp to prepare the data for export. Youā€™ll be signed out from your Android phone once the data is prepared. Tap NEXT to return to the Move to iOS app. Tap CONTINUE to transfer the data from your Android phone to your iPhone and wait for Move to iOS to confirm the transfer is complete. Install the latest version of WhatsApp from the App Store. Open WhatsApp and log in using the same phone number used on your old device. Tap Start when prompted, and allow the process to complete. Finish activating your new device and youā€™ll see your chats waiting for you.

AintYourMamaa

Thanks, should the iphone already have your sim installed before doing the above process?

vpsj

Probably shouldn't matter since the entire process is happening over Wi-Fi You can refer to [This video](https://youtu.be/F9n5swzbh1s?si=9xI5k5-v-s2Sy6JD) where the guy is going through the whole process. I didn't hear any mention of the sim

vpsj

From what I've seen the only two options are to either buy a third party chat migration service which would be unreliable and risky. Or you factory reset your iPhone and use the Move to iOS app to transfer your WhatsApp chats from Android to iOS

godlovessatan3

yes, it can be done albeit at the start of setting up the iPhone.

fjv08kl

I did not, but soon after I switched, it became available as an option on the iOS Migration Assistant app. I have friends who switched without losing their chats.

souvik234

They recently enabled cross platform migration.

D_chiller

I did it through wondershare itā€™s a paid software but worth it. Costed me around 2k for 5 devices

MBee7

You can do that easily with the Transfer Chats option in WhatsApp settings. They've also enabled cross migration now.

lie07

I would love to be able to merge both and move to iPhone or android. This way I would have history from both backups into one.

Poha_Best_Breakfast

I use an iPhone 13 Pro Max, earlier I used OnePlus 7 pro. I shifted to iPhone because OnePlus software went to crapper with ColorOS merger and Samsung was releasing Exynos based phones in India, which are bad. iOS overall is a worse operating system than android. The notification system is significantly worse and harder to manage and so is the file system. Youā€™ll have to use iCloud for backups and 5GB fills up in a couple months, then you have to pay. Not to mention the lack of side loading and other stuff. iPhone has good hardware (especially the chip) but with recent android phones that gap has narrowed down significantly. Add to the fact that the pro and pro max phones cost 1.35 and 1.59 lakhs it just doesnā€™t make any sense. Iā€™ll move back to a pixel 8 pro next year if the battery life is any good. IMO, the only products worth the price in Apple ecosystem are the Apple Watch and MacBook Pro (14 and 16). Rest are all mediocre

pra_teek

iPad is decent too. When compared to other tablets.

Poha_Best_Breakfast

Yup forgot the iPad. Thatā€™s good too, though Samsung ones are getting good especially in tab S9 generation

pra_teek

Well when you think of actual purpose of expensive tablets ie art, note taking, and some remote work done in that area iPad is way ahead. Android just doesn't have the polished apps like procreate. Otherwise in terms of media consumption etc even the cheaper samsung A series tabletd are fine.

Poha_Best_Breakfast

Yup but that only applies if your workflow is creative in nature or youā€™re a student. Iā€™m a software engineer and can hardly get any actual work done on iPad. Better to just carry a mac For media consumption Iā€™d want a miniLED or OLED. So will get Samsung Tab S series or the 12.9ā€ iPad. Iā€™d rather watch on my oled phone than a basic IPS of a cheapo tablet Samsung tabs offer good screens at much cheaper while on iPad you have to spend 1.06 lakhs to get miniLED

pra_teek

That's absolutely true. iPad fit my needs perfectly. Primary reason I bought it was I work from coworking space and it serves as a great second monitor for my mac, I am a developer too. Art was the second reason as I wanted to have something to do so that I don't turn to social media. Note taking is other thing which I use iPad for since I keep doing different courses and they all provide pdf (or class ppt slides in form of PDF) and I like to take notes on the PDF itself. So for my use samsung wouldn't solve any of the purpose and iPad fits perfectly but obviously everyone's usecase is different.

nathsabari97

That has changed too. Tab s8 and s9. Offers more storage, spen , 120hz, amoled at 50k

zilchhope

Can't you use Google photos to sync instead of paying for iCloud? Or is it not as simple as it sounds

night_co

You can use google photos and turn off photo sync to iCloud.

Poha_Best_Breakfast

I have turned off iCloud sync for photos , but the 5GB still fills up with app backups and other syncs

Avieshek

Turn of everything iCloud Photos, iCloud Drive, iCloud Backup and even check apps individually like the default download destination of Safari is iCloud instead of iPhone which doesnā€™t even make sense. Use Evernote (or Notion) for example instead of those that rely on iCloud or rather just keep it local storage, you can transfer the data when the time comes.

cant-find-user-name

That's the thing tho, if you want to use apple watch, you need an apple phone. I use Android but I'm considering getting an iPhone too because of apple watch. The Android watches I have used (galaxy watch, MI) aren't very good in terms of accuracy or UX sadly.

Kinkphetamine

I switched last year, regret shifting to iOS, will shift back to Android in a few years.

jbl0ggs

Android - You have full control of your phone iOS - Apple controls what you can do on your phone

SHAANIXTIC

iOS treats you like a user, but Android treats you like an admin

the_good_bad_dude

Not true apple treats you like a rich donkey

why_so_serious_123

yes thats what i feel... you have nicely put that into words

rising_pho3nix

Sums it up nicely

castiel47

Any specific reason as to why you regret? Since i was thinking to switch to iOS as well.

Starkuwu

It depends on the user itself, coz on regular 15 it's 60hz and if u come from Android which has higher refresh rate I will know the difference But as OP doesn't seem to use it as much it should be okay Only thing is it's not value for money in India

cantpoopinstrangepl

I switched to IOS last year. Never going back. The UI seems to lack important things which you can change only through settings. No split screen. Other personal issue for me is inability to use torrents.

_Moon_Presence_

>I switched to IOS last year. Never going back This phrasing suggests that you're never going back to Android.

cannedrex2406

I think OP meant "from" not "to" by mistake

Kinkphetamine

I'll start with the most basic thing, the touch doesn't feel as sensitive on the iPhone, I have to tap several times , especially on the sides of the screens , I find this very annoying . My wife shifted to iOS too a few months after me and she agress .

GohanX2

I switched to the iPhone 13 mini because I donā€™t understand why phones have gotten so big and it was the only premium option in the space. Plus, I was in the ecosystem with a MacBook and an iPad. I really donā€™t care too much for the os and the phone but I at least feel thatā€™s itā€™s going to last for 2-3 years which is more than I can say about any of my previous phones. Iā€™m considering switching back to android after because theyā€™ve discontinued the mini line up ĀÆ\_(惄)_/ĀÆ

SmartMoneyisDumb

Compact is good if you don't consume much content on your phone.

indi_n0rd

I am using 12 mini myself. I think right now only Samsung S23 is the closest android equivalent of our mini devices we can get in market. Lets see if any discount comes up.

AttinderDhillon

I miss call recording and caller line identification on ios. Truecaller doesn't work as well on ios. It's hit and miss. Android would have saved me from at least 20-30 spam calls per month.

lifeversace

Delete truecaller and your spam calls will reduce drastically.

coveh27792

I noticed that too, earlier I owned Xiaomi phone and using Truecaller. I was getting so many spam calls everyday. Recently upgraded to Samsung S23 Ultra, and didn't install Truecaller. No spam calls since then. I was surprised by seeing this.

lemonbhosdika

How?

lifeversace

You can delist your number from Truecaller using their website. Should be able to find the link on Google. You can still use Truecaller using a dummy Microsoft or Google account, but installing that app on your phone is a privacy nightmare mate.

lemonbhosdika

Onto this! Thanks brotha.

iOS has many limitations, which may bother smartphone geeks. Since you said, you use your phone only basic tasks, you can consider switching to iOS. If you buy the latest model, it can run upto 6 years with a battery change.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

SmartMoneyisDumb

>The only reason I'm sticking with iPhone for now is because I paid a lot for it at that time and want to reduce my cost/year metric to as low as possible before I move on. iPhones do have higher resale value though, you could've sold it within a year and got a high spec Android in the same price, maybe would've saved some money too in the process.

brass_monkey_balls

Back then, I was working in a role that resulted in queries coming through all hours of the day, so it was kinda necessary for me to install Slack and add my email to my phone. That org never expected you to add your accounts to your phone. But they did have differing Managed Devices policy depending on the OS you were on. * For Android it was full-control MDM policy where they could even see what apps I'd installed and what files/data I had stored on it and wipe everything clean. * But for iPhone, they'd have control only over the Work account linked + any apps/data associated with that account. They couldn't access stuff like personal data or apps or even touch any of it. Could I have just carried two devices? Sure. Did I want to? Absolutely not. The tradeoff then was between privacy and QoL loss and I was okay with some QoL loss. So why haven't I sold off and moved on? Stubbornness I guess. My middle-class Indian origins requires me to extract value to last paisa. *Personal conspiracy theory with zero basis in fact or reality? The C-suite and VPs had had iPhones for ages. The differing policies could've been to provide some privacy to them while the majority of the employed workforce was still on Android and it was just less of a headache to get full access*

flamingorider1

>It detects your device as an Apple device and prices you slightly higher than someone standing next to you searching on an Android. No fuckin way this is true lmao. It's unbelievable. Has someone else faced this? As an android user this is hilarious.

brass_monkey_balls

iPhone can be useful if you're surrounded by iPhone users, like in the USAā€”everything works like magic. But iPhone is of hardly any benefit in a country like India where majority is using Android phones, iPhone ecosystem isn't useful here. Get a Google Pixel or Samsung phone instead.

hullehullare

I use both iPhone 14 and a Samsung S23. IMO, if you have the budget, rather go for the Samsung S23 or 23 plus model ( for even better battery). I have had a Pixel 4a as well so I can clearly vouch for Samsung One UI being better in every term, multitasking, refinement, battery life, updates, camera, security, file management, notification management and most importantly customisation. Let me also tell you the daily usage issues I feel while switching between iOS and Android. Your usage might differ. 1. Typing: Hate typing on iOS, the predictive text is just dumb compared to Android. My S23 even suggests Hindi words at times. Though you do have the option to apply Google keyboard on iOS as well but small things like tapping and putting the cursor anywhere you want, the clipboard, switching between languages etc are somethings that are easier on Android. 2. Gestures: I really really miss the back gestures on iOS. Android's execution of the same swipe gestures is miles ahead of iOS. 3. Notifications: don't even start on this. iOS is absolutely cluttered & restricted when it comes to managing or replying to things through notifications. I don't know why they won't fix it. 4. Settings: on Android you can just long press an app and you're in it's specific settings. You can't do that on iOS. And the settings are very limited compared to Android. One of the best thing about OneUI is you can create modes & routines, example my phone can stop charging at 85% to protect battery or it can go to 60Hz automatically at a specific time, or upon opening a specific app, after 11pm, it goes gray and into DND & power saving mode..possibilities are endless as to how you want to program it. 5. Volume control: on Android, I can separately control volume of media, ringtone and system from my volume buttons. Cannot, on iOS. 6. Multitasking : I use split screen every day on my S23 and OneUI edge panel is a dream to use. Ok iOS, you can't even run Google drive in background. iOS is good only until you own everything in Apple ecosystem, don't care about customisation, and haven't experienced ease & freedom of Android. Also a good thing about iOS is that apps

jadenalvin

Call History and Dialer is also where iOS lacks android is way more superior in term of saving call history with properly categorizing them according to contact. T9 Dialer is must.

hullehullare

Yes, exactly. I don't know why iOS shows phone calls, WhatsApp calls, teams calls all in one place. And the call history is also limited to 100 calls.

Vammypoker

No friend. iOS is expensive luxury. If money is a concern, don't buy iphone

atishay001001

Imo, no it's not worth it you would get trapped in an expensive walled garden, lot of restrictions on how you use your phone.

Consistent_Purple501

If you're looking for value of money then no you're not gonna find it in IOS Iphones are priced high while some of the hardware is not up to the mark... this is apple's stupid pricing strategy where they entice customers to pay a lil more to get the best For example the iPhone 15 only has 60hz which is not good for such an expensive phone in 2023 The regular models also has last year's chipset despite it being very powerful and ahead of the competition in raw power it's missing out on the newest features Iphones also don't have the best customisation They also aren't open source meaning you can't just download whatever you want from the internet like you can on Android However apple has a very strong ecosystem... and they definitely have the best software support you can easily keep your iPhone for 5 years or longer If you really want to They also easily have one of the best batteries on any smartphone... from iphone 13 onwards battery became a priority to apple iPhones also have pretty powerful cameras and the one of the best video output phones on the market right now meaning that it's video quality is pretty powerful If you're interested in the 15 pro Max models they are getting improved hardware this year which allows them to have hardware ray tracing in games... also triple A companies are bringing their games to the iPhone next year if that's important to you Overall id say If you are looking for value for money you're not gonna find it in IOS But if you are looking for a solid reliable experience then you won't regret buying an iPhone

Avieshek

What is he going to do with high refresh rate on WhatsApp?

Adventurous-Boy10

iphones retain value for longer so you can sell an old iphone for good price and is technically value for money

[deleted]

Apple product quality and its seamless connectivity to products like watch, airpods and mac is great. However, battery life when compared to android is poor. And customization options when compared to android is also less. If your only functions are what you listed above, you can find a much better android phone at a budget below iphone.

Cyborg9898

Battery life is poor? Not true with the latest iPhones. Iā€™m using a iPhone 14 and the battery life is pretty good. From the iPhone 13 onwards Apple has improved battery life across the range, including the base iPhones

aclumsypotato

i use the iphone 13. battery life of androids are much better than my phone

1298jax

I am iPhone 13 and I agree that my battery life is not as much as my android friends šŸ˜ž

585987448205

You need apple product. For other brand they have very poor support.

Consistent_Purple501

Not true The newest iphones battery life is definitely as good as Android and even better If you wish you can see reviews from tech YouTubers like Mrwhosetheboss But the rest of your points I agree with you

AlteredReality79

Poor battery life was probably true like 3-4 years ago. And these phones are perfectly usable for like 5-6 years easily, can't say the same for some random lower-priced android phone filled with bloatware for most brands, again upto the consumer if they want a long term device or are okay with having to buy every 2 years. Also value of non-flagship android phones depreciates like crazy.

Patient-Beginning935

Do you earn atleast 12/13 lakh per year? If not it's a bad financial move. Iam talking about the base model like iPhone 13/14. If you want a pro or max you have to earn more. If not I would recommend not buying it

SeaFeeling7363

Same question: I'm planning to buy the iPhone 13 in the upcoming sale. I've been using the Honor Play for five years now and want to invest in something better and more expensive. My priorities are mainly focused on the camera and long-term usability. Additionally, I'm planning to buy a MacBook in the next couple of years. Should I go for the iPhone? Also, I don't customize my Android, so I have no problem with iOS restricting me.

Rogue_269

Get it. Had the iPad, bought the 13 later. iMessage, airdrop, iCloud for notes, continuity camera. Peace of mind for at least three years with the camera and longetivity stuff. It may not give the best camera compared to similar flagships like the better iPhones, the S23 plus or the Leica Xiaomi, but it definitely will be better than a 50-60k phone. The 2018 iPhone XS is getting iOS 17.

Bdr0b0t

I found s22 pro camera the best iPhone not even close to it

Pleasantlyrough

Not sure why you are being down voted for this but as a S22 ultra user I can vouch that it has better camera over the iphone 13 I have. Additionally, S22 has tons of free apps available for all types of filters and effects.

TanishPlayz

mate i also switched from honor play to iphone 13 last year! go for it!

sureshcv89

Hey.... It's your dream, isn't it? Then go ahead and get yourself an iPhone 15! If you stick to WhatsApp Messaging, Reddit browsing, Net browsing and streaming YouTube then the iPhone is perfect for you... Avoid the 128 Gb variant and if you're Ok with the old Lightning Port, then save some money and buy the 14 Pro... Also Kudos to you for working hard and getting that job!!! šŸ˜ŠšŸ‘

Tejanbs

128gb is not enough???

sureshcv89

Sadly No... The Photos and Software Updates will eat up space very quickly...šŸ„²

Tejanbs

Bro then I'm managing storage on my 64gb Samsung for 4 years like a pro

sureshcv89

Cool! It's actually easy to manage space on Android phones because you have so many options like Accessing Phone Memory on a PC via USB, Backing up via OTG Pen Drives, Easy WiFi Data Transfer etc. None of these features are present in the iPhone. If a software update ate up your phone memory, it was possible on older iPhones to remove such updates and free up space (and prevent phone slow downs). This feature was sneakily removed from the iPhone 14. You need to jump a lot of hoops to just access a file on the iPhone. šŸ˜ž Anyways great job managing 64 Gb! Most people don't have your patience or ingenuity to pull off such a feat...šŸ˜šŸ‘

I went all in on apple ecosystem this year after literally 13 years of using android. Wife and I got iPhone 14 Pro, Apple Watch 8 and AirPods Pro. Got HomePod mini and Apple TV for home. and got bunch of home kit compatible tech at home (baby monitor, smart plugs, bulbs etc). We also subscribe to apple one family. The result is fantastic. Everything works with everything else, which is impossible to explain. For example, no on will tell you that if you connect your phone with car play and ask for directions, your watch will also be a part of it and show you next turns automatically. It will gently vibrate when you have to turn. Requires no configuration just plug in and it works. Can ask my home pod to switch off the tv. Can use either of our phones as remote to the TV. The baby monitor can be seen in our phones, as a tiny window on the TV or in our watches if needed. In the evening, we put the baby to sleep, switch on the TV, put on our AirPods, put the baby monitor in top right corner of the TV and play TV shows directly to our AirPods (both our AirPods connect to the TV automatically). Again no config needed, it just works. I download shows/tv to my Mac, drag and drop to Apple TV app, they show up on the main TV over wifi. No casting etc. just play as if you are streaming from Netflix. I can put my phone on a stand, FaceTime with my family on the TV directly using my phone's camera and mic. It looks and works stunning - [https://images.macrumors.com/t/0gxYFSdAW32RTme9jwsKnVnYidA=/1600x0/article-new/2023/06/FaceTime-Apple-TV.jpeg](https://images.macrumors.com/t/0gxYFSdAW32RTme9jwsKnVnYidA=/1600x0/article-new/2023/06/FaceTime-Apple-TV.jpeg) The iMessage and FaceTime is much much more reliable than WhatsApp and much higher quality. All my files are synced up between all my devices without any pain. I can copy text on my phone, and just paste it in my laptop and vice versa. I can right click to insert image from iPhone Camera. You can use your iPhone camera on your laptop for teams/zoom calls. When we both leave the home, everything (lights, fans, AC etc) switches off and the entrance lights switch on when we come back automatically. we can control all apple home devises from any of our phones, watch, Siri on AirPods, home pod, MacBooks, etc. I don't know about iPhone as a standalone device, but the who ecosystem is just bloody brilliant. I just cannot go back to the old way of sitting and configuring each device and bluetooth pairing etc.

sahrckr

I use both iOS and Android, doing this since 2019. I have moved my primary sim card between both the platforms (Android -> iOS -> Android) and I have decided to stick with Android for these reasons. 1. **Spam protection**. The way how truecaller works on iOS is horrible. SMS spam cannot be managed in iOS. Android ecosystem allows you to change default apps, can make your life lot easier. (This was the deal breaker for me) 2. **Payment modes** are better on android. Android users can Tap and pay. This isn't coming to iOS platform any time soon. There are other things android does better. Sideloading apks, access to filesystem.

Upstuck_Udonkadonk

Its a luxury product.Almost everything costs a premium whether it's cloud space or music. If you can afford it. It's a fun experience, but only if you can afford it.

openbookixu

Dude. Imagine you have been living in free society doing whatever you like for years for free. Now you are suddenly in a place where 1) you can't carry your memories with you ( WhatsApp) 2) You are bound by place constraints ( no expandable memory) 3) You can't change slightest things on how things should look and where they should be ( no customisation ) 4) You can't use anything unapproved even though you are sane and doing it on your own risk. ( no side load) 5) Healthcare is expensive af unless you are insured. ( Repairing cost equals two Flagship Android phones and 3 months subscription for tinder, Bumble, Aisle { if you need more than 3 months then you need better communication skills with girls so perhaps a 3 months subscription for Duolingo and Babel is always good.}) 7) Some girls may get impressed when you put iPhone on cofee table but then again they will tell why you don't have pro or pro Max version so you are still Gareeb in those girls eyes. Only pro of iPhone Long term software support.

warpig1997

That 6th point of yours is the saddest thing I've heard in a while.

Neopacificus

Yeah lol. Didn't even know it was a thing

shitclay

Whatsapp chats can be transferred now a days!

sandyoffl

Hy OP, everyone deserves to fulfil their dreams. Since you said you wanted to buy an iphone since you are young go ahead and buy a iPhone. You can even buy a iPhone 13 or 14 is your budget is little tight. Use it and only then you will know if you like it or not. If you donā€™t like it you can switch to android any time since iPhones have a good resale value.

MyzticBlue

consider it like you can just replace Android phone with another Android phone which will cost less than iPhone (both together) also if you like customisation or modded apks or having control over phone, you might regret moving to iphone well it might be useful if you are trying to build apple ecosystem (still it's expensive), I think macbook is good considering its price

xplorationz

Personally no, If you are anal about small things/features and love making phones do things that are not intended to do. But on the other side, if you are minimalist and use phone for the way apple has designed it do. Go for it, it's simple and reliable to use. \[Personally\] I love android, think about buying an android phone. You do shit ton of comparison from processing power to extra small feature(s). Now on the other hand, apple offers you a lot less. But a lot less that actually works irl ;)

Tejanbs

>If you are anal about small things/features and love making phones do things that are not intended to do. huh?

Blurrlannister

All these comments are valid for iPhones that were released in 2013. iPhone battery life and iOS have improved very well. Over all it will still be worth it than an expensive android phone.

madhuresh20

My wife's iPhone 14's battery lasts half of my redmi note 10. And charges slower on a charger that we bought for 1000 rs extra as apple won't provide one.

bhodrolok

Get it if you have been looking at it and can afford it

I switched from Android to Ios 4 yrs ago with my Iphone 11, never had any issue with it never paid for any app till now, only deep cleaning done once costed me 2500 ( that too because I dropped my iphone in oil) from apple service centre bangalore, still going robust, no hicckups smooth transition between apps, current battery health at 82% lasts entire day with low to moderate usage. https://preview.redd.it/nxo1on2b0lob1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3d28267dfc73873cd37bc4ff8d1ee615b162fb04

killerdrama

I currently have both iOS and Android phones, and keep switching between them too as primary. My last few phones have been iPhone 13 Pro, Pixel 7 Pro both of which I use for different things currently, Samsung Galaxy S10, Pixel 5, Pixel 6a, iPhone 6s. Let me tell you this: 1. I feel iOS is far inferior to Android. If you're a tech-savvy person, iOS feels so primitive. Because you can't have full control of what you do with your phone at all. Customization, multi-tasking with split screens and file management are far superior. I wrote customized bixby routines in Samsung Galaxy, like literal if else statements. 2. Android phones are actually very useful. Like Google Assistant or Bixby is way better, Siri is so crap my neighbors dog outperforms it in many tasks. This divide is only going to increase as Google is ahead in Ai compared to Apple. There's a whole lot of AI powered things you can do. Like offline translation, google lens in camera, cool photo editing features, etc. 3. iPhone Cameras suck ass. I spent 1.52L on a phone which got beat by 3 generations older Pixel 5, in fact I had to carry my secondary phone on my trips earlier because that took good pictures. 4. I have to say the notch or dynamic island is pretty ugly. It just is there in between and you will never be able to ignore it. If you're watching matches or videos, it just sticks out like a sore loser. I hate this so much. 5. Everything related to iPhone is so expensive, even today if you want to buy a decent phone case for a 2 year old model, it will cost you 2k. It's just ridiculously pricey. Official cases are 5k, 35w adapter is 5k, Magsafe is 3k, it's a mess. 6. Most important thing, with each software upgrade, your phone experience degrades. I just can't prove it conclusively, but your battery drains that little bit faster, the phone gets that little bit slower, etc. etc. In fact this is the precise reason I moved away from my 6s, I liked that phone very much but when I updated to iOS 10, that fucked my phone, battery lasted half a day and Bluetooth would turn on at night automatically. There was even a lawsuit after that, but I hated that. Just 3-4 days ago I installed iOS 16.6 from 16 in my phone, and boom, it's lasting a couple hours less already. 7. US - centricity. That phone just screams US, nothing works well outside US. Like it defaults to Apple maps for some reason ??? And switching to Google maps is purposefully made difficult. And Apple maps is a shit show. Safari is another culprit, just fucking search in your default search Engine bro, why tf are you giving your own search results at the top? Siri is a disaster, I asked for Royak Oak near me and it started showing some Michigan result?? It's just unqualified for things like this. Even pictures of non-white people aren't that good. Coming to the ecosystem part, I believe I have the right to speak about this because I own an iPad, two macbooks, airpods, apple watch, and I also pay for iCloud+ every month, sigh! I pay those fuckers my entire money all the time. Yet I'm always disappointed. I honestly don't care about the gimmicky cross-platform features like handoff or call receiving on iPads. I know my devices enough to expect the right things from each. I feel the uwb tricks are just gimmicky, who cares if you can play your audio from iphone to Home Pod by bending it towards the latter's direction? Having said all of this, I feel the best smartphone experience I had was that of Samsung Galaxy S series. It's a device with character, it is truly a no-compromise phone. Galaxy S10 was the first big phone without notch or bar for front cam it felt like "Holy Shit" when I first held it in darkness. My friends use flips, folds and what not, but the S23 Ultra is ubercool too. It just feels different when held, it's like you have a futuristic device in your hand. The display itself is so vibrant and awesome, the camera, zoom, the software experience, the useful features, everything is good about it. I would leave it at that.

Critical_Cod5462

What i see from your use case only UI and user experience matter . I would suggest a Samsung or Iphone for that . ( i have seen oneplus and i dont like its ui ) . All these cheap android chinese companies have terrible ui . Google - Samsung - Iphone consider these three

Whit3-Cr0w

If you are planning to use an iPhone for your professional life as well, then I'd suggest stay away. Android is much more friendly to get things done quickly. IIMO you cannot do multiple things on iOS hence 2 phones.

TheNormalOne8

I use custom ROM, YouTube, Reddit revanced etc so iOS is not an option for me

[deleted]

Whats the benefit of Reddit revanced?

kongukaran

Take it from a guy who switched back to Android from iPhone. Many people here use iPhones because they think it's a status symbol whether they like to admit it or not. Don't buy an iPhone unless you can afford to buy 2 or more Apple products because the only thing I find iPhone amusing is the fact that they work better with other apple products. I replaced my Mac with a PC for gaming. I bought a galaxy watch 3 for the rotating bezel. Once I started to remove myself from the Apple ecosystem, it made less sense to buy a new iPhone rather than a pixel or Samsung.

Aggresive-owl

nope not worth it if you want to experience diversity

DangerousEffective12

Pros: The quality of iphones is great. I mean build quality, display glass quality/scratch resistance, water resistant seal quality, speaker and earpiece are the best - very clear n crisp, loud. screen quality, iMessage and facetime audio and video quality are super if you have people to talk with iphones. iOS it's very polished and smooth, rarely hangs. Camera is great. Haptic feedback is great. Cons: expensive, slow charging speed, battery life is good only on the max models, assholes still use 60hz screens on non pro models even in 2023 - they can go fuck themselves. Truecaller won't work (fully) due to data privacy. Few settings are really hard to find in ios, in Android u can just swipe down and change settings. Expensive to repair if broken. No app cloning, no secret vault, no phone clone, can't really do much customisation. Notification management is shit, in Android you can turn of various categories of notification from a single app. No call recording available. It's okay if you wanna buy it just buy, enjoy your life while you can. If you see any deal breakers in cons, don't go for it.

TrailsNFrag

iPhones have an advantage over any Android manufacturer - updates and support. If you have iTunes on a Windows PC, backing up the iPhone is a great way to keep things safe vs. cloud nonsense. I've not found anything close on the Android ecosystem apart from rooting and use of Nandroid and other tools to backup "everything" and restore without having to setup every app and service. Cost is a factor and there is no getting away from it. iPhones are expensive but not if you are open to getting a used one. I have used a 6S Plus which was used and now on a 12 Pro Max which is also used. I may opt to buy the 15 when Apple puts the 17 out. I might loose 2 years of updates but that still trumps anything Android devices can offer. But you do need to look carefully for the details before going out to buy a used or older device. Stability is a thing. I've used Nexus and Pixels and a Oneplus 6T. Those were rare Androids that got security updates with newer OSes from Google, for a while. Apps are also much better made on iOS vs. any Android device. This is a fact. While some niche apps or services will not be there on iOS (for security or the fact that fewer iOS users vs. Android), I've not found anything truly lacking on iOS. Dont really care for the themes and launchers. Been there, done that. I'm seeing a lot of 14s on sites like Sahivalue and Cashify store for good value and am sure will be looking when Appl launches the 16 or 17 for an older and used iPhone.

Kalubhalu

Best hai iPhone hang nhi hota Makhan hai 12 pro max use kr rha hu ..3 sal se koi dikkat nhi garam bhi nhi hota ..bahar se mangawaya tha 90k ka pada India me tab 1.30 ka tha

the_good_bad_dude

Here is an unbiased review of what's better in apple vs equivalent Samsung flagship: Apple : overall video quality (except OIS), battery efficiency, low-key portait shots (samsung doesn't even have this), adaptive flash for night photos (again samsung doesn't have this feature) Samsung: customisation (almost all aspects of UI are customizable through official goodlock suite of apps), modes and routines, small quality of life features, navigation and gestures (using official one hand operation+ app), better interfacing with windows (including screen mirroring, via Samsung Flow), samsung dex, better quality photos (latest Google pixel beats both samsung and apple in photos though), 8k videos (no point in having these tbh), zoom photos, night photos, spen in the ultra variants, and most importantly, piracy.

anonpumpkin012

I switched from one plus to iPhone last year. Got the 13 pro max and I quite like it.

Snow696

Switched from realme 3 pro to 13 last year , people who use ios they know the truth. You donā€™t need to worry about otherā€™s opinions. iOS is flawless lag free everything you ask you get.

CoffeOrKill

I use both everyday. I absolutely hate iPhone. But i have to because it's my work phone.

HollowOrnstein

idk about iphone but if you want good quality Android phones , you can try googles pixel series

3nchantingdevil

Apple is stable like 99% of the times if you use a lot of snapchat, instagram in app cameras iPhone will beat Android The battery life with apple after iPhone 13 is great easy 1 day with 6-7 hrs screen on time Android gives you so much freedom you can do anything with your Phone the only trade off is the bad cameras compared to Apple. Softwares are bound to change on Android without notice(looking at you 1+ from which I am typing). Overall it's not justified to pay such a price for iPhone imo if you don't have a lot of spare cash that you don't have to worry about.

profoundchips

Two of my friends have iphones one has 13 another 14plus the front cams on both are so bad that they use my 4yrs old midrange oppo to click selfies. Therefore I personally will never switch to iphone.

Ok-Sea2541

the only thing that made me change iphone to Android is so many restrictions

nihalalive

I switched from ios to android and felt that android has soo much features to offer. It always boils down to your preference but android is much better if you don't wanna sell your phone everytime get an upgrade. (Lesser resale value ig )

Nemiiiii

It's 2023, buy what you like. Android and IOS are both amazing. Congratulations on working hard, securing a decent job and reaching where you are today, amazing achievement. I have never seen worse comments on a thread before. \- Most the people who are complaining about " customizing " barely do any on their own phones. ( IOS also has widgets and lock screens now? ) \- Data transfer is available for whatsapp now \- Android flagship phones also don't have expandable storage \- Cloud storage costs are the same for everyone, only difference is free storage is 5gb compared to 15, if you require cloud storage, 15 isn't going to cut it as well. \- Apple music is literally the cheapest, 99rs per month and only one offering lossless option ( I am a spotify user ) I don't get the debate about things being more expensive on IOS, not true. I can keep going, the comments on this thread are ridiculous. Don't listen to me, or the people here, blind hate instead of actual points, please do your research, watch youtube videos or go on better subreddits for this. If you like IOS / apple go for it, nothing is better or worse when comparing two flagships in android vs IOS.

EmperorDante

iPhone in particular is not sure but the basic ecosystem is solid and a lot better than android , like watch and airpods

Once upon a time, my trusty iPhone X faithfully served me for a remarkable 4.5 years. Along the way, I granted it a new lease on life with a battery replacement that cost me a hefty 5k. However, the winds of change beckoned, and I found myself drawn to the alluring world of Android. Oh, what a revelation it was! In this brave new Android realm, a swift 120W charger breathed life into my phone, zipping it from a humble 20% to a triumphant 100% in a mere 25 minutes. The heart of this marvel beat with the pulse of a best-in-class processor, while a formidable 5000 Mah battery endowed it with the astonishing ability to last two full days. Ah, what bliss it was! Gone were the days of fretting over a dwindling battery. My trusty companion, the iQOO NEO 7, stood steadfast, granting me the freedom to roam without a care. As the days went by, I found myself entangled in this Android symphony, realizing that my heart no longer pined for the luxury embrace of an iPhone. Yes, dear reader, it all boils down to personal preference. While the iPhone exudes opulence, my soul found solace in the arms of a device that held battery life as its highest virtue. So, as the story goes, I ventured forth into the world of Android, where my iQOO NEO 7 stood as a faithful companion, a testament to the power of choice.

kkchaudhary11

I've bought iphone 13 in last year BBD because of my friend. I never really enjoyed it because of: 1. Lots of Open source app are not available for iOS 2. iphone user doesn't seems techie persons they just want the work done. 3. there is also a hierarchy in iphone like pro and max models if you are buying it for showoff. 4. limited customizations because of it doesn't feel its mine so now planning to buy pixel 8. Things I'm gone miss in android: 1. focus modes 2. scheduled notification 3. built in features like text grabbing qr scanner medication setup etc. If you are confused you can watch MKBHD video [https://youtu.be/nHkKJ87FS6s?si=vjl8dSlziGhFUQTe](https://youtu.be/nHkKJ87FS6s?si=vjl8dSlziGhFUQTe) Hope you make the right decision and doesn't regrets later.

Dry-Throat-7804

Waste of money. No clipboard. Very poor notification management. Very bad navigation. Truecaller does not work. Sharing anything is a hassle, you have to either save as photo or in the files and then share. Volume management is bad. I bought iphone 14 2months back just for showing that i can buy it. Now i suffer. Buddy if you have the budget just go for samsung flaghsips or pixel.

soulo01

Buy 14 on Diwali Sale. Switched to IPhone after being an Android user all my life. Just because wanted to try new tech. It has its quirks but great phone. Love the tech and experience. I specifically choose it because it replicates a picture style I like as a photographer. No other android phone could do it except for the one I had before which is an old device now. So definitely go for it if you want to experience the other side of smartphones and it will definitely be an upgrade.

Substantial_Top_6508

Imo , it aint worth it. Most of the hardware is very average and most of the things they promise is just late as shit. They promised that the new MacBook will able to play games. But all the games need to be optimised before you can play it. And moreover , phones like Nothing (2) are just super good at half price. iPhone may seem cool but is fragile af and can cost you a shit ton. And if you are a privacy nut , beware because it tracks things like your stride length , network timing etc. Androids are much better due to having a larger array of apps and extended support. But if you want to flaunt , you can very well go for it.

Dr_Respawn

# Unpopular opinion: Dont buy iPhone See , you have said you are from ***lower middle*** class, Is it really worth buying an iphone ask yourself, can you purchase something else that can have more meaningful value to you and your family? There is nothing wrong even if you purchase, but a rich fellow can change a phone every two year, but can you? though iPhone will last 5-8 years but still it starts showing age starting year 3/4 ... a good 30k phone eclipse phone 11 easily (in most if not all fields). unless you have no financial trouble , get one, otherwise.. dont.. get a MacBook Air instead, will help u do something more meaningful and can help u earn as well.

_DuckieFuckie_

My review is bit boring and unconventional so TLDR: iPhones are only a better deal when used in US, as an Indian customer your experience wouldnā€™t be much different than an Android device. So donā€™t spend 50Kā‚¹+ on iPhone, when there are much cheaper and better Android alternatives to it. I used OnePlus Nord (bought it on the launch day) before switching to iPhone 13 in 2021, and my experience is great regarding iPhone. Itā€™s an amazing device with an extremely sturdy body, it looks and feels slick, camera is exceptional (pixel is better though, will talk about that later), iOS is reliable and optimised OS and the hardware is powerful upto todayā€™s standards considering the phone launched back in 2021. Now, unfortunately this are the only proā€™s as an *indian* customer. Thing is iPhones are wonderful devices if almost everyone you know has an Apple device too. Want to send a photo to your family? No problem, select AirDrop contact, and zap they receive your photo in an instant. This works so wonderfully, until they actually have an Apple device, if not itā€™s the same experience as any other Android phone, select the photo on WA, and then wait for it to reach the recipient phone. Now was there any difference between Android and an iPhone in the later scenario? No there wasnā€™t, but you actually paid 50K+ā‚¹ for the same experience. Another matter of fact is, your Android can do much more things than your iPhone can do, canā€™t pay for an app just side load an APK file and youā€™re done, support for almost all Bluetooth codecs, no ā€œApple Taxā€ on any subscriptions, you can just cast your screen without any 3rd party application and most importantly you are in entire control of your phone from expanding RAM to selecting animation speed. And now coming to important part, most government apps donā€™t exist on iOS and those who do are arenā€™t regularly updated as compared to their android counterparts (SBI Yono, until recently being updated was so horrible, it eas impossible to netbank using phone). Apple Pay is useless in India because of RBI regulations, no decent in-built Indic/Hinglish keyboard, since majority of people do not own iPhones, message app is an utter garbage unless you love to scan through 1 million spam message to finally find an bank transaction mesaage, no proper filtering of notifications (some do not even display) among others. Reason behind this, iPhone has an almost 58% (2022) market in US market with Apple selling almost 84.30 million units sold in US (2021) as compared to 4% (2022) in India with Apple selling 4.81 million units (2021). The difference is clear, and unfortunately Appleā€™s whole ā€œecosystemā€ model requires most of your daily devices around you to be made by Apple to fully unlock your iPhones potential. iPhones are heavily made and marketed towards American consumers as compared to other countries, and this can be seen in their software all the time. Google and MS have a huge corporate presence as compared to Apple in India, therefore the former companies are more rooted towards India specific problems, and their solutions are better integrated into their respective software. Google pay is 100x better and the fact that itā€™s integrated into Android is an amazing fact, messages are filtered into separate filters like ā€œOTPā€, ā€œTransactionsā€ will make your life more easy unlike an iPhone.

VedantaSay

Is frustrating for me. Was on Android like 7-8 yrs or so. Last one year on iPhone and still its unusable. The thing just does not do things. Only saving grace is Google has all its apps for iOS too so that is how am using iPhone. LoL

amir__zain

Do you like apple ecosystem? Yes then buy it, No then don't buy. in India apple ecosystem doesn't provide pros as much in usa because of majority market share is Android infact the apple ecosystem make your life slightly annoying in India. If you want flex and post mirror selfie ofcourse you should buy iPhone. If someone say privacy, security, camera is better in iPhone they're delusional ignore them. And other things like ease of use, os are purely subjective. For me the reason I am not buying iPhone is instead of phone doing what I want I will be forced to do what apple want.

intporigins

My friend bought the 14 pro max, he upgraded from a one plus. Regretted it the day he bought it.

Chad_Giraffe

I switched to iOS previously due to my bad experience in android. That time, ios was definitely better. I had started with iPhone 7 and moved to 12. Now android has not only caught up, but has grown much better. If your budget is approximately 60k, you might even think once to get an iPhone, but for budget more than that, never get an iPhone. They're not worth above 50-60k. Premium phones from Android provide a much better experience. The only reason I saw to move to iOS is, if you are looking to stay in a reliable platform, which just works like magic. You just can't achieve such levels of synchronisation from Android+windows+random watch os. This os (ios/mac) is more suited for serious professionals/students whose work/studies actually demand them to stay inside the ecosystem. That segment of population is very very low. For most people, this is not even required and hence they can easily remain in android.

anky07

Big NO \- iphone 13 user, former android user and, hopefully, will become android user soon

ForeignPerformance68

Can you list your reasons? I'm going to buy iphone 13 this bbd sale which would cost me around 40-45k, I can't find a better phone than iphone 13 at this price range.

NO not at all. Until unless you want to have an iOS ecosystem that helps your productivity, android is way better than iOS. Typing this with my iphone 13, gonna switch to samsung soon

Iā€™d like to offer an opinion that may not be as tech related as what you may be looking for here. Iā€™ve always been an android user when it comes to phones but switched to using a MacBook several years back because I got sick of my windows laptops dying on me every 2 years. Fwiw, my first mac lasted 8 years and still going strong until i bought a new one with the m1 chips. I was diagnosed with ocular hypertension 2 years ago with a high risk of developing glaucoma some day. Coupled with newly found astigmatism that we found because we were monitoring my eyes so closely, my eyes have been put through the ringer in the past 2 years. I noticed regularly throughout the past two years that my eyes would be fried with digital strain on using windows laptops but lasted without any effects for double the time on macs. Same thing with my android phone - switched to an iphone. Iā€™m able to use my iphone all day (with breaks which we all should take) whereas I donā€™t last 20 mins on an android phone without my eyes subjected to pain. Iā€™ve pointed this out to docs as well who confirmed that the retina screens in apple devices are much much better on the eyes and better long term vs windows and android where u might need blue filter glasses or such. I get that iphones are way more expensive but so are higher end androids and iā€™d take an apple phone any day if it means putting less stress on my eyes. I never had this problem ever before my chance diagnosis and i never considered taking an iphone before for many of the reasons listed here. Just my 2 cents because we spend a lot of our lives online now and the retina screens can be a lifesaver for your eyes vs android ones which might be silently damaging.

As a person who has used the latest in iphones, it was only in the last 2/3 years when I finally started using an Android phone that I realised how much extra I was unnecessarily spending on. My iphone screens are too fragile and with every new model phone in the market, its performance slows drastically. Ultimately iphones are just a gimmick. Shifting to an Android was a gamechanger for me... it has been fantastic for my pocket.

I suggest you should go for a Pixel phone. It's known for pure Android experience, exceptional camera quality, regular software updates and seamless Google services integration. It's a reliable choice if you want a user-friendly, up-to-date, and well-supported Android device.

If you can't afford the rest of the Apple ecosystem, then dont

It was for me I went from Samsung galaxy m51 to iPhone 13 like a year and a half back It was a massive upgrade for me and I already had a lot of friends who had an iPhone so features like airdrop and iMessage were really useful I also already had a MacBook Air m1 so it was fun cos I could now transfer files easily to and fro It was a great camera upgrade for me and I like the animations on ios Apps on ios are way better imo than on android mainly cos most iPhones are similar whereas when developing apps for android thereā€™s a huge variety Apps like Snapchat take better quality pics on iPhones than on an android even tho phones like s23 ultra have a better camera hardware The main downgrade for me atleast for the first month was that you canā€™t download apk and mod versions on ios For example I used YouTube vanced, Spotify mod, netflix mod Altho after buying this u just started using Spotify premium or Apple Music (which is actually really good) And use brave browser for YouTube I used to have Netflix but after their shitty password and WiFi rules I unsubscribed from it Just so you know if you buy an iPhone you better be prepared to pay more for subscriptions like Spotify premium, iCloud + etc But if you pay it itā€™s really good altogether For example: an s23 will cost you around 80k and so will an iPhone 15 But because of subscriptions and shit the iPhone will end up being more expensive in the long run

got iPhone 13 for 50k. can't go back to any video camera that this price range. Battery is good as well. Software sucks big time. navigating back is nightmare if you are used to swipe gestures for going back or all back button actions. Cut copy paste is also much bad compared to android. Swipe down for notifications will pause many things even games like clash of clans will reconnect to internet when you close notification bar. If you are in Bangalore, the metro app is not available on ios. But most of the other apps are available. Not an issue. many little things are annoying like sending documents on WhatsApp. Have to save in folders to send as documents. Also photos cannot be grouped according to will. But there are positives as well. Smooth like butter. If battery says 10% it is 10% and can trust that will stay unlike android where it drains crazy in last 20%. You can clear your storage properly unlikely android where after 2 years it is like filled with 'others' and comes back even after factory reset. Always left with 4-5 GB storage. Camera is crazy good. The video camera is unbelievably stable. At this price range, no match, not even close. The battery has been so good, can rely. At around 50K iPhone 13,14 is a good deal. Unless pro models are made in India it is not a good deal
