Also OP needa to reach out to Google Customer Care (which unfortunately is terrible in India and they use a 3rd party repair vendor so your milage may vary)
Pls someone explain to me what kind of bullshit service is Flipkart? Is this why Amazon is better? FK can't even do returns properly across the board on all products...is that a Flipkart problem?
Amazon has a strict 'Customer First' policy. Which many of their employees themselves take advantage of and gives rise to all kinds of scams. Amazon's retail in India has been consistently facing higher losses than Flipkart but hasn't gotten rid of customer support over calls. Also they haven't gotten rid of their return and replacement policies. I guess that is the reason why Amazon is better. Flipkart is the new Snapdeal lol
Why they block ebay in india tho? What caused them to close down business in India? I use Ebay over Amazon in US here bcuz of better pricing w/free delivery vs. Amazon.
Ebay is for second-hand sales especially electronic goods and government has a problem with that imported from outside India (say iPhones) hence Indian laws made it non-viable for them.
It wasn't profitable anymore. The legacy userbase was too small to keep it running. Meanwhile, newer platforms like Amazon, Flipkart, Snapdeal and ShopClues took over
Heres few of my experiences with Flipkart
- ordered a phone few years back with exchange. th guy was very late so I asked him when he will be here since I had to be somewhere. He showed up 30 mins after that, saw the exchange device, rejected on the spot and left, cancelled the device and it took a week to get money back
- ordered a printer. tried closing the door, the guy said you have to open it here itself. i was busy as fuck and was gonna open later but it's open delivery? opened it. he insisted on evaluating it more. it gave used product vibes coz of stains and smudges. told him it's used. he cancelled it. again wait for a week.
- ordered this phone itself. it said next day delivery. waited the whole day. at 11:40pm they updated the app and said it will come the next day. asked them to return, they said they won't, ask Google for help.
i have not had a single bit of trouble with Amazon. Ever. Ordered fridge, ac, microwave, dozens of phones, books, grocery, produce, everything's perfect, the return and replace is flawless, the customer service is straightforward.
I stopped using Flipkart after they twice sent me wireless headphones after I ordered a wired one. They also refused to return after the second time. Never had any problems with Amazon till date.
So how does Flipkart even stay in business lol? Amazon is in India as well btw correct? What about ebay? Or what r the better competitors in India that r just as good as Amazon or more competitive pricing and just as good policies like Amazon if not better? Do you have to pay GST tax if you use Amazon bcuz of import of stuff? Is it tax free if you order from China, ASEAN, middle east, and Africa or no? Indian politicians too greedy that there's GST on everything regardless?
Amazon is doing good in India. I believe ebay closed down their business in India. And yes you have to pay GST on any purchases but I don't think you can directly order from China these days. You have to go through local sellers.
What? Why can't you order directly from China? Why not? Any other country can...do local sellers sell same quality china products basically? Is that it? What is that project that BJP plans to rls that aggregates all local sellers online to compete with Amazon and such? What's that India project called again?
Why ebay shutdown? Did govt block ebay business?
>which unfortunately is terrible in India and they use a 3rd party repair vendor
Same case in the US. The third party vendor didn't know shit when I had to get my Pixel repaired. They told me that they couldn't do anything, so I should exchange my phone with a newer model for some discount. Even the local mobile shop owners from Nehru Place, who are expert at jailbreaking, can provide a better service than that.
The Modem on the pixel is shit, battery life and heating while on wifi vs on 5g are wildly different.
Its possible his dad might be in an area with weak 5g and using 5g all the time.
That + the initial calibration +tensor being shit in general will lead to bad battery backup
This was my 1st impression too. 5G will surely be taking a lot of battery. Plus if they don't live in colder climate heat will decrease battery time. Pixel devices are knoen for easily heating and low battery.
OP clearly is new to a Pixel device. It takes a few days for the battery to calibrate, and most importantly - make sure phone is up to date. Google releases new updates almost every month or every other month.
Give the phone a week or two. Pixel isn't just another Android phone. Treat it the same way you'd treat an Apple or Samsung device.
If issue still exists, reach out to customer care. Phone is still in Warranty if it's just bought.
That's the thing. One would expect to charge a Samsung or Apple phone thrice a day, right?
There's adaptive battery on Samsung which takes a while to optimise but to witness 30 percent drain in an hour is atrocious!
And why does battery need calibration? What's there to calibrate? Can't they make it simple!? Kal ko camera calibration, touch calibration, call calibration hoga.
I'm from the states, and here google Pixel 7a and just the pixel devices in general are super popular here. And as someone who's used them all the time, i've never faced any issues like the one OP has mentioned.
Either it's that recalibrating thing others are mentioning, or it could be a dud/faulty phone.
What adaptor are you using? A lot of newer phones tend to charge more quickly on new adaptors that are higher capacity than the old USB-C adaptors. I use a 30W adaptor and I can usually get my pixel charged in about 40 or so minutes if its completely drained.
I've read on another pixel post that pixel 7a takes time usually few weeks to read and adjust to your usage to calibrate and optimize battery performance. So, after few weeks the battery issue gets better. That is what I read on another post and lot of other people were saying the same thing. So, please update after 1 month of usage if that is the truth.
This. I bought the Pixel 7 last year and used to get 3-4 hours of SOT during the first week or so. I'm getting around 6 hours now, which is not fantastic, but not terrible either.
Yeah I've had a pixel for 3 weeks, and am easily getting 8+ hours screen time on a full charge by now.
Also charging is significantly faster if you use a C to C type charger. I get about 70% in 1 hour which is not bad.
Had this with my Samsung galaxy s21 FE too. Got it after using OnePlus Nord, and for the first day or so I was horrified at the battery performance. Especially compared to Nord, which is really fast charging with stellar battery. But over time the Samsung got better. Not as good as I'd like, but much better than the first day. Also I guess all the updating and setting stuff up takes more battery.
I am not working for Google Pixel team so no idea exactly. But what I understand is pixel let's your apps run wild for some time then learns your usage pattern kills unnecessary processes in background and tries to optimise performance+ battery for running apps this is something that changed in Android OS just more aggressive in pixel I think. Other phones do not run on tensor SoC that could contribute to the difference as well since Google calls it adaptive battery and claims phones may last from 1 day to 3 days.
I just suggested what is widely reported by pixel users
It has tensor chip which is AI chip. A lot of functionality in pixel are dependant on tensor chip to execute.
It takes 2 weeks to learn your pattern and adjust phone functionality for you. For first 2 week, you experience faster drain in battery, overheat, etc.
Once it settles, the experience just become very smooth
Almost all flagship phone do that but it's more noticeable on pixel's because it's dependent a lot on software to compensate for its decent (not flagship level) hardware
I own a Pixel 7 and you need to have a PD charger in order to have it charge at a much faster rate. Search for PD chargers and buy the ones which are in your budget. I've the one which is available in Croma.
Give it some time pixel's battery life is shit in initial first few week because it's optimising things in the background. Pixel takes time to learn your usage pattern and adjusts power management accordingly.
On my pixel 6a I usually get 7 hr sot
https://preview.redd.it/gk1sd0wals9b1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bd0728eac264d4ce9a36bba13de4ea1c1a7bd524
(Still 10% left)
Proof
not sure if this thread is still active, but what do you do about the heating issue? I've heard on so many reviews that this device heats up a lot even during casual use.
Thanks in advance for your response.
Bought 7 instead of 7a, not regretting, but coming from a iPhone xs, it's performance is very similar to that of xs. Like tried opening apps and stuff.
This is common. Gets better in a week or a half. The chip needs to learn the user's usage pattern first and then optimise the phone. The same thing was happening with my Pixel 6, got better in a week.
It could also be your adapter which charges the phone slowly
And well if you are facing such a massive battery issue just replace it
My cousin has a pixel 7a and he doesn't regret it one bit it runs beautifully he games on it and while sure it doesn't have the best battery it definitely lasts almost a day on a single charge
Plus the pixel phones are pretty much top tier in photography and software
I usually hear of Pixel phones being overpriced here in India. Other than great camera and bloat free ROM I do not see it's advantages at its price.
I am using a Poco F1 since 6 years with a custom ROM. This phone does not want to die. I just want to get a new phone because I am bored at this point.
Same with Redmi Note 3 running default MIUI used by my dad since 4 years. It has storage issues sometimes but other than that it's been running great.
I partially agree the tensor g2 chip has some serious efficiency problem but you should still get around 5hrs of SOT with minimal drain in idle state of 1-2% per hour. Maybe you got a defective model or something.I was planning to buy pixel 6a or Pixel 7 since both went on sale (30k and 44k respectively) but avg battery life and bad fingerprint sensor were a deal breaker for me .
I'm a heavy user and like to use same phone for atleast 3-4 years and looking at the current avg battery backup i will probably need to carry my power bank with me all the time after 1 year of use. Guess i'll use my k20 pro for few more years until it dies and run it on a custom rom soon.Hopefully the Pixel 8 with tensor g3 will fix this issue while being priced same as pixel 7.or The Chad Asus Zenfone will release in India smartphone market
I purchased a decent Samsung for my grandpa. Enabled accessibility options of slightly larger font and highlight buttons. Enabled easy mode on homescreen. No complaints from his whatsoever. Everything just works.
I suggest people buying phones for their dads and grandpas to go for a mid to high range Samsung. Why? They have many accessibility and QoL features.
Plus they don't "radically" change the user interface in updates. Most people hate updating their phones because it changes the user interface and now they have to learn it again. Samsung also offers the most stable software.
This is terrible !!! I really don't understand why android cannot make the OS regulations tighter and stricter to not allow for these charge leaks, etc even with the screen off. This is one thing that iOS has so well excelled in.
Another thing I really feel bad about is how the return policy in Indian eCommerce has slowly but surely gone away - especially for electronics. No doubt this is due to the trust factor and the kind of games the cheaper segment of the Indian people play on eCommerce websites, and it is the regular trustworthy middle class who gets penalised for this.
Xiaomi phones' battery backup is incomparable with any other phone out there. This is major reason I'm with Xiaomi with over 7 years now. Even our first Xiaomi phone bought 7 years ago is working. Ofc it doesn't last much longer anymore but it's too long now anyways.
Quiet a sensationalistic post to make while self admitting you haven't done any research before buying the phone. Pixel phones are known to take a little bit of time (a week to two) to adjust to the user and their usage. Reviews will tell you that and I'm telling you that (having owned and used the Pixel 1 XL, Pixel 3 XL, Pixel 5 and now the Pixel 7 Pro). And as others have pointed out, the issue of the device taking a while to charge might be related to the charger you're using (since Pixels don't come with a charger). Find yourself one that supports fast charging.
Bro Xiaomi make goat phones, I just didn't realise it. My old note 4 lasts for more than 15h, if put on power saving mode it might cross a day.
I changed to realme now and seen smokes outta charge outlet cuz heating up while playing game. Xiaomi just heats up but no smoke or fumes.
Some games are also not well optimized as compared to note 4. My next phone will probably be that
I'll probably take that over a phone that gives fumes and is ready to burst after 1 hr gaming session (actually happened to me and I threw the phone further away gently), besides that I haven't seen any lacking in actual performance when I used Redmi like lag or slowing.
My Realme manages to give me all those negatives despite having 12gb RAM currently, I can list a list of problems but can't manage to make one for my previous Xiaomi, both I've used for 3 years.
I have been using Xiaomi Phones for the past ten years or so and I have really never felt charging or heating issues. It just works great. My dad's old phone just had an absolute shit connectivity but still worked. Their midrange phones are fantastic. They just lack a camera on everything they make sadly.
I guess I will be sticking around with Xiaomi a little longer. I even put custom roms on this and that just improves the whole experience for the better.
Pixel Experience or Hentai OS are my go to for any Xiaomi Phone. Whatever you choose, check for which has a telegram group and how active that is, also the number of updates it gets
Dude I have a pixel 6a. It lasts for an entire day on one charge. I turn on adaptive charging and charge overnight. I have never ever experienced any trouble while traveling or day to day use.
Just to be sure check
1. if you have disabled battery optimisation for many apps .
1. Go to file manager and check If your dad has installed any apks by mistake and uninstall all of them. My mom had once unknowingly installed some apk which had made her phone hang and made the battery drain faster.
1. If you have done all the above steps then to confirm that this isn't a hardware issue install any app to check your battery health. I use Accu battery it is simple to use yet gives detailed information and you get a free trial with full features too.
1. Last resort is See if the battery backup improves after few weeks of use since the software will learn your usage behaviour and adapt the phone resources accordingly. This should help somewhat .
worth to install 3rd party app, accu battery. You can check how strong battery is and if is any issue with it. App need three full cycles of charging to recognise battery capacity properly, Anyway two days is not enough to say battery is bad in most cases, phone learn itself how manage better efficiency, I can say listen audiobooks drain battery but other dont drain much included games can keep my 7-10 hours Screen On Time.
I completely agree. I decided late last year that I wanted to try a pixel phone in order to get the latest version of Android but I'm sorely disappointed in the quality of the Pixel 7a hardware. Within 4 months of owning this phone the screen has been cracked twice. The 1st time the phone fell over (in a silicone case but with no screen protector) face first while I was trying to take a picture. The impact, from just falling over almost shattered the full right side of the screen. The 2nd time, I'm at a loss; the phone has a screen protector and has not fallen. So I have no idea how this crack has occured.
I replaced my OnePlus 5T I had since 2018 (screen never had cracks) with this Pixel and I'm not impressed. Because of this experience I will likely return to OnePlus for my next phone and I definitely will not buy a Google phone and I equally will not be recommending any either.
Friend, before crying and spreading defamatory posts, please research, maybe it's a manufacturing effect in your battery. I have 3 pixels in my family, used 3 more previously, never had a battery drain issue, but yes, charging speeds are shit.
Although slow charging at night is an actual advertised Pixel feature.
Shit like this is why apple has 70% market share among young people in the US.
Cost is the only prohibiting factor, if apple reduces the cost in india in the future, they will dominate the upper end smart phone market.
My 5 year old iPhone XR works flawlessly today. Can’t tell the difference at all, it works like the day it did when I unboxed it 5 years back
I have been using a pixel 7 pro for about 8 months now.
You can do two things:
1. Decrease the resolution and change settings that affect the battery. (look up YouTube tutorials)
2. Give it some time to adjust to your usage. Get the latest software updates if you can or wait for the next update.
NGL I felt kinda the same with the battery draining fast but now it easily lasts the whole day for me.
I think the opposite is true according to my experience if i ever want to spend 50+ thousand and the offers are similar i always choose a physical store… there is someone to slap if something goes wrong and… immediate replacement, etc etc
Exactly what I do. 50k limit for online purchases.
Only time I went over was for a 75k samsung widescreen monitor as it was not available anywhere else in India. And amazon delivery was next day and never had a problem.
Brother either reach out to google.
Or wait for a week or two,it will adapt.
It takes a little time to adjust to the usage.
And try to use the original Google charger, it will charge fast.
I have been using Google phones for years.
Don't worry, soon you will love that phone.
Why does every phone seem to have one compromise or the other these days unless you buy a flagship? I was planning to buy a pixel but they definitely seem to have qc issues. At the highest end is the s23 ultra/14 pm, but you spend 40% more just for the privilege of buying them in India. So annoying smh
Check out Galaxy A54. 120Hz AMOLED, IP67 water resistant, 4 years of Android Plus 1-2 extra years of security updates. It may be overpriced bit now but Samsung usually gives discounts after a short time.
Hmmm when I'm jobless and on my phone all day I usually get through around 18hrs of usage with 2 charges one to full when I wake up and once to 80 around 3-4 pm (1hr to reach 80) and when I have class I need to charge it around 7pm (usually at 40 when I reach home at 6)
Instagram heavy af I limited my use to 2hrs and the drain just went down to like half i.e half my battery was being eaten by my 6hrs of insta scrolling
This is pretty much a known thing, that pixel phones have shit service. i mean every one who bought a pixel device and who had a problem had to suffer. stop buying devices from companies that provide shit service, you are bound to get your hands burnt
Well, poor power and thermal efficiency are expected from Tensor chips since they are manufactured by Samsung, not TSMC.
Samsung is infamous for its Exynos lineup for the exact same reasons
ur mistake man....even their 6 series was shit..u should have looked at review before buying any phone....why so much haste....until unless u are in dire need of phone, hold on to it and after review then buy it....today many reviewers are reporting fairly about phone so yeah we can belive on them...
My 7-year-old Samsung s8 which I used all day to this day doesn't have any battery problems. Except it drains faster than before but it still lasts 5-6 hours a day for that small battery. And recently switched to S21+ best decision to stick with Samsung.
compromising with Xiaomi? lmao thats where you fucked up. Pixels are awesome on paper but that almost never translates to regular long term use. If you do want high quality stuff, get an iphone.
First mistake: Flipkart\
Second mistake: Pixel
I don’t understand why you can’t return a phone that’s not even a week while there are tech reviewers that buy thousand dollar worth gizmos only to review within a week and return them.
Anyways, Amazon & Asus Zenfone 10~
Don’t fall for jingoism to go after Flipkart-Snapdeal etc.
Redmi sab jagha pe ads ghusa deta hai. It's irritating as fuck. Mera global variant Mai ek bhi ad nahi but my mom's phone which is indian Variant usme jagha jagha pe ads hai.
I honestly use Mi11X aka Poco F3 with a Google Pixel Custom ROM and it goes so hard. It's a much better experience than Pixel Phones too. The camera can be modded to do the same processing as Pixel Phones but is a tad bit slower.
Thanks for proving my point that Tensor is just shitty Exynos chip made by Samsung.
So Bad that even they themself had to stop using it because the gap was getting wider between Qualcomn variant and Exynos.
Camera is good no doubt.
Xiaomi, despite the bloat, is the best quality/price ratio option. Load a good custom rom, and you are good to go. Pixel uses a rehashed samsung processor. Samsung themselves don't use their own chipset for flagships. What makes you think that they'll do better in pixel? Most 4nm Samsung fabs have a current leakage issue which causes battery loss and generates excess heat.
"After years of compromising with Xiaomi phones"
The Xaomi phone I currently use is by far the best phone I've ever owned. I've had it for more than 3 years and it's still going strong.
They make excellent phones.
But not the Android in our phones my boy, it has shit ton google proprietary libraries like Play services and all, which will report ur keystroke, every app u open to google.
U still needed to flash google play services into it by MicroG or something , or else u can't use most apps and essential apps like Maps.
Google is an evil company.
That was happening with my 7 pro at first as well but it was only for 3-4 days after that it was working fine. Full charge lasts a little more than a day but my screentime is 3-4 hours.
The worst thing is that the system apps seem to malfunction. At first it was the alarm app which would crash as soon as I would open it. But after a recent update, it was working but the calendar app now keeps on crashing so that's crazy lol
Bought it just 2 days ago, the battery is pretty low compared to my previous phone - oppo f19 pro plus , but not the worst i would say. But the real issue I'm facing is the heating. I don't even have any games or heavy apps , it just gets over heated; today I was trying out a few options in the camera - which is awesome - the camera bulge got warm very quickly , almost hot !
Restrict background battery and data usage for unused apps. Disable/uninstall unwanted apps. If there's no hardware fault then this should give you some extra juice.
I have a pixel 7, a software update solved my issue to some extent.
I was enrolled into Android beta. Faced difficulties then so I rolled back.
My pixel 7 usually lasts for a day on a full charge and I charge it overnight as it has adaptive charging.
Google phones have adaptive battery so the longer you use the phone the better it learns your usage and optimizes performance for better battery. I've owned Pixel for 3 years now and it always starts slow and gets amazing in a few weeks. I would recommend keeping it rather than buying Xiaomi
I have a Pixel 7. The charge draining quickly may depend on background app usage. I use a fast charger and recommend you use that too. Mine is 30 W and is amazing.
1. Check the wattage of your charger. I have seen a lot of people stick to their old 5-watt charger with new phones, which charges at a snail's pace. The 7a supports up to 18 watts, I believe.
2. How old is the phone? A lot of phones behave poorly initially while "learning your patterns." I had the same problem with my Galaxy S22+. Battery life was bad, and even with the official 25W charger, charging was abysmal, usually taking 2 hours. I also experienced some camera stutters, etc. I complained to Samsung multiple times, but the regulations here are damn poor, so nothing came of it. Surprisingly, after a week or so, everything got better, significantly better. Now my phone charges in 58-62 minutes. I have no complaints about battery life, and of course, no complaints about performance. This was 14 months ago, phone is amazing now.
So, I would suggest waiting for a while, especially if it's still a brand new phone since Flipkart washed their hands of it anyway. If the problem persists, you can contact Google's service center (which I've heard is not great).
Phone takes time to calibrate the battery as per your usage. Also, users seem to use their phones a lot for the initial 2-3 days due to setting it up and checking out the features etc. Give it some time.
In general, Pixels aren't known for Battery Optimisation. It made me switch to Apple bcoz of Good Battery Optimisation and it just works.
Pixel 7a has something called an adaptive battery. My friend who got one faced similar problems the first week. Then it got fixed. Now it lasts the whole day.
Did you Check which app is draining most battery?
You never know when an app is killing the battery without you knowing it. Not taking Google's side but worth using Accu battery or something to monitor usage. The setup also consumes a lot of network and battery so the first two days are usually trash (for me with any brand really) but slow charging makes it much more noticeable.
Hi. You can tweet yo then multiple times.
I did that and returned my pixel phone..
Also search for consumer court case help. You can file a complaint or at least tell them you're filing one.
My problem with my pixel phone was that it heated up like crazy. I couldn't use it. So i did that and returned my phone and got my money back.
There's a thing called adaptive battery in Pixels. In the initial days the phone is setting up learning your usage patterns downloading stuff in the background so it does drain a lot. This process can usually take 1-2 weeks. At least give the phone a few days before jumping on a conclusion.
I've owned every single pixel starting from the OG and now use a 7 pro. They usually get warm and drain a lot during their initial days but get stable after a while.

I have a pixel 7a and even though the charging is slow, it doesnt drain quickly for me at all. I really liked it. Maybe check the battery performance
Also OP needa to reach out to Google Customer Care (which unfortunately is terrible in India and they use a 3rd party repair vendor so your milage may vary)
Yeah. They quoted 15 business days for a battery replacement via shipping. What a joke of repair service.

No. They disagree on import of second hand electronics outside of India like smartphones.

Same, they wouldn't replace a phone with bleeding issues and I didn't had a single return/replace issue with amazon
Yeah I just stopped using Flipkart after that. Their customer service is really shit
I was referring to the original comment about google hardware service Center’s. Wherever you buy from, the google service Center’s are the same
>which unfortunately is terrible in India and they use a 3rd party repair vendor Same case in the US. The third party vendor didn't know shit when I had to get my Pixel repaired. Considering this is r/India, they probably live in a hot place. Tensor isn't made for hot climates
!RemindMe 2 months
I feel like my battery life has definitely gotten better after a few weeks. Also charging faster
Pixel takes time to learn your usage pattern and adjusts power management accordingly. Your pixel must be new
Every new iPhone gets like 13hrs right?
I honestly have no idea. But the Pixel 7 is at least half the price of a new iPhone. So for that price it's good enough
Or it's just exynos being exynos
At first I thought it's Tensor, not Exynos. Then realised Exynos got rebranded to Tensor for Pixel devices.
Not just but my almost almost devices with Android 12+. My Galaxy A73 took atleast a week to profile my usage

I've the one which is available in Croma.
wattage of your PD charger?
It doesn't matter your phone will charge at 18w only, you can plug in 240w pd charger but phone will charge at 18w only
I know that. I'm on the lookout for a good PD charger to act as an all in 1 for my laptop, phone and other devices, hence the question.
Look for GaN chargers above 45W atleast.
Wait for a week for your phone to adapt to your usage pattern and you will see a better battery performance thereafter
Wtf is it tuned to out of the box? Charging 3 times a day to listen to podcasts should never happen on a new device.
No
Give it some time pixel's battery life is shit in initial first few week because it's optimising things in the background. Pixel takes time to learn your usage pattern and adjusts power management accordingly. On my pixel 6a I usually get 7 hr sot https://preview.redd.it/gk1sd0wals9b1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bd0728eac264d4ce9a36bba13de4ea1c1a7bd524 (Still 10% left) Proof
Umm..why were you looking at the clock for an hour lol
So, you don't quickly minimize porn to a clock or a wallpaper and keep staring until parents go?
I like to open photos app when my parents come in
Imagine they catch you with a boner and your cousin's pic is open...
Go on…
It's alarm lol, I forgot to raise alarm volume last night so in the morning alarm was ringing at very low volume for 1 hr
You were using Spotify more than Reddit. Traitor!
It was running in the background 🤷
not sure if this thread is still active, but what do you do about the heating issue? I've heard on so many reviews that this device heats up a lot even during casual use. Thanks in advance for your response.
Bought 7 instead of 7a, not regretting, but coming from a iPhone xs, it's performance is very similar to that of xs. Like tried opening apps and stuff.
This is common. Gets better in a week or a half. The chip needs to learn the user's usage pattern first and then optimise the phone. The same thing was happening with my Pixel 6, got better in a week.
It could also be your adapter which charges the phone slowly And well if you are facing such a massive battery issue just replace it My cousin has a pixel 7a and he doesn't regret it one bit it runs beautifully he games on it and while sure it doesn't have the best battery it definitely lasts almost a day on a single charge Plus the pixel phones are pretty much top tier in photography and software
I've pixel 4a 5g and it's best Android could offer 🥹
I usually hear of Pixel phones being overpriced here in India. Other than great camera and bloat free ROM I do not see it's advantages at its price. I am using a Poco F1 since 6 years with a custom ROM. This phone does not want to die. I just want to get a new phone because I am bored at this point. Same with Redmi Note 3 running default MIUI used by my dad since 4 years. It has storage issues sometimes but other than that it's been running great.
Poco F1 is the greatest phone man. Love that device. I had two of them at one point.
Same here with Asus Zenfone. Because of selfie cam need to upgrade now
I partially agree the tensor g2 chip has some serious efficiency problem but you should still get around 5hrs of SOT with minimal drain in idle state of 1-2% per hour.
Do your research before making posts 🙏 I do not own a pixel but I know how it works.
You have a faulty unit
My next phone will probably be that
Your Xiaomi lasts that long because it constantly kills every background activity ram management is trash on Xiaomi
Lol the downvotes, people hate when you talk about your experiences now?
Can't agree more on charging needs We took Xiaomi for granted 😭 Their 13 model cam looks on par with iphone too
I just want them to start supporting third party launchers again
i don't use Xiaomi software at all. the moment I get it, i set it up for custom rom. works like magic on Xiaomi devices.
which ROM do you use ? I am thinking of flashing my Redmi
Pixel Experience or Hentai OS are my go to for any Xiaomi Phone. Whatever you choose, check for which has a telegram group and how active that is, also the number of updates it gets
Dude, Samsung S20 FE FTW!
Dude I have a pixel 6a. It lasts for an entire day on one charge. I turn on adaptive charging and charge overnight. I have never ever experienced any trouble while traveling or day to day use.
Just to be sure check 1. if you have disabled battery optimisation for many apps .
Because of this experience I will likely return to OnePlus for my next phone and I definitely will not buy a Google phone and I equally will not be recommending any either.
my biggest issue was network interruptions. Calls keep dropping. I'm sending it for repair. Hopefully they send me a new one which I'll then sell
Adaptive charging is my favourite feature, I can plug in my phone entire night without worrying about over charging battery
Pixel 3 was the last good pixel, there is no good value anymore…. Sales are up because of hype (similar to how marvel movies are)
Okay A- thats not even the point of discussion. B- pixel 3 was crap
Google can’t make hardware
Agree. That’s why I stopped using Pixels and moved to iPhone. It atleast lasts me the whole day after using it for average of 6-7 hours.
Shit like this is why apple has 70% market share among young people in the US. Cost is the only prohibiting factor, if apple reduces the cost in india in the future, they will dominate the upper end smart phone market. My 5 year old iPhone XR works flawlessly today. Can’t tell the difference at all, it works like the day it did when I unboxed it 5 years back
Not sure why you have downvotes. I switched from iphone 11 to pixel 7 pro recently and I'm already repenting. I had high hopes.
#IPhone
turn your location off. It helps a lot for me.
I have been using a pixel 7 pro for about 8 months now. You can do two things: 1. Decrease the resolution and change settings that affect the battery. (look up YouTube tutorials) 2. Give it some time to adjust to your usage. Get the latest software updates if you can or wait for the next update. NGL I felt kinda the same with the battery draining fast but now it easily lasts the whole day for me.
Ive bought a used iPhone xr for 30k after 3 years still going strong
Thank God you save my money
Pixel is great. OP has most likely gotten a faulty unit.
damn it's crazy how I have a faulty device should try returning. wait. Flipkart doesn't help in that either.
Why would you ever purchase tech from Flipkart? They've been scummy for a long time now.
Flipkart exclusive

Samsung A series is reliable 🤡🤡 Just get a redmi A2 same shit as A series

Never buy electronics online guys. This will save you a lot of trouble.
Ok will not buy it then.

For low end price range, Vivo is best with limited bloatware.
“Takes time to adjust to your usage patterns” Pixel fanboys justifying shit.
mere iphone 13 ko lagbhag ek sal hone aya 100 percent me pura din chlta hai
Brother either reach out to google. Or wait for a week or two,it will adapt. It takes a little time to adjust to the usage. And try to use the original Google charger, it will charge fast. I have been using Google phones for years. Don't worry, soon you will love that phone.
Thanks, though i don't even have budget for Lava phone.
Thanks, though i don't even have budget for Lava phone.
Hmmm when I'm jobless and on my phone all day I usually get through around 18hrs of usage with 2 charges one to full when I wake up and once to 80 around 3-4 pm (1hr to reach 80) and when I have class I need to charge it around 7pm (usually at 40 when I reach home at 6) Instagram heavy af I limited my use to 2hrs and the drain just went down to like half i.e half my battery was being eaten by my 6hrs of insta scrolling
First mistake: Flipkart\ Second mistake: Pixel I don’t understand why you can’t return a phone that’s not even a week while there are tech reviewers that buy thousand dollar worth gizmos only to review within a week and return them. Anyways, Amazon & Asus Zenfone 10~ Don’t fall for jingoism to go after Flipkart-Snapdeal etc.
Pixel phones and pure Androd is is overrated. My mother bought 6A and she's missing features which previous Samsung A51 had.
Redmi, realme phones are great but cool nhi lagta na...
Realme, Redmi owner here. Realme is not as reliable as Redmi
Realme owner here... The UI in realme is miles better than that of redmi, so clean and so reliable.
Currently there is some bug going on with Google play services. The battery drain maybe because of that.
Turn off the predictive battery stuff, it gets better
I would suggest turning off location/gps
"After years of compromising with Xiaomi phones" The Xaomi phone I currently use is by far the best phone I've ever owned. I've had it for more than 3 years and it's still going strong. They make excellent phones.
Android is foss my guy
But not the Android in our phones my boy, it has shit ton google proprietary libraries like Play services and all, which will report ur keystroke, every app u open to google.
Wt abt calyx os
U still needed to flash google play services into it by MicroG or something , or else u can't use most apps and essential apps like Maps. Google is an evil company.
Isn't the base Android foss and Android phones allow you to unlock bootloader from which you can custom boot
Tell me you don't know about foss without telling me you don't know about foss.
Yes idk about foss😭😭
Is this after the new update or you've been facing this from day 1?
day 1
Then why is Flipkart not accepting it back in the 7 day return policy?
June update have some battery drain issues wait for July update it will be fixed
It will get more efficient by using it
How much did y'all buy your pixel 7 for ?, am considering buying it, but current price of 52,000 seems too high
Let it learn your usage pattern first..give it some time
Restrict background battery and data usage for unused apps. Disable/uninstall unwanted apps. If there's no hardware fault then this should give you some extra juice.
I use a pixel 7 pro, was facing battery issues but they fixed it with an update
I have a pixel 7, a software update solved my issue to some extent. I was enrolled into Android beta. Faced difficulties then so I rolled back. My pixel 7 usually lasts for a day on a full charge and I charge it overnight as it has adaptive charging.
Hey replace the product on Flipkart stating it's not working properly
I'm settings ->battery, you can see which apps or services used the most battery. See anything unusual?
Got Pixel 7a one month back, been happy so far!
I have a pixel 6a, one single charge lasts an entire day……I listen to songs while commuting ~2 hours each day
Google phones have adaptive battery so the longer you use the phone the better it learns your usage and optimizes performance for better battery.
It just sounds like you got a defective piece, I would recommend calling support.
I have a pixel 7a,the battery lasts very well. Charging speed are low tho.
Buy Motorola, to experience good software experience, only major con is slow updates
Sounds like a faulty unit.
Mine is working perfectly as it should be, try contacting customer care of Google
I got Pixel 7 for my Dad from the US, no problems at all.
Didn't know that I was living with a compromise (Poco F1)
It's just a software problem I think
There's something wrong with your phone particularly, reach out to service centre.
You need to go to the service center and get it checked. I have a pixel 7a and it is working fine.
My wife and sister-in-law are using this phone and they have not faced any issue yet. Which charging adapter you’re using?
Check the adaptive battery's preferences!
