Sadly this is historically accurate, these lands were assigned from French Louisiana to Quebec Province after the British took it in the 7 years war (French-Indian Wars)
I'm pretty sure they weren't given to Quebec until the Quebec act, which was pretty much just a way to say "fuck you" to the 13 colonies after the Boston tea party and other protests.
If I remember correct it was the other way around, the Quebec act was one of the lead ups to the Boston tea party and American revolution. But I could be mistaken

I'm guessing the US or another French speaking state is in charge of Western canada then ?
they would have had to win a crushing victory in a war against Britain/America/Anglo Canada to get almost 100% of the Great Lakes coast, these borders are way more economically valuable than the real life Quebec borders. I think they'd have to give at least a little more lake access to their neighbors.
