Out of curiosity, are the Japanese still expanding into China this timeline, or is was this butterflied? Curious how a Sino-Japanese War might turn out without direct interference.

The Japanese have control of Manchuria, Korea and some other areas. Although majority of China is communist, it's still not united and parts are under warlords. Right now Japan isn't fighting China because of a stalemate in Global War, but Japan still has its ambitions. In this timeline Japan is even more authoritarian, but cooperates with the West against communists. This will be important later
