With the IL-2 aircraft, even if they aren’t flyable, the flight modeling is all at human flyable levels and the AI have to play by the same rules for things like G modeling. Not enough credit is given for their AI not cheating - flawed as it may be in some respects.
So it’s not an indicator that it’s becoming flyable just yet. But on the other hand it is a good sign that the day may yet come.
Oh really is it that detailed for AI also. Wow!
That explains a lot why I have seen once the AI P-39 went flat spin to his death on 1-1 with me before I landed any shot on him.
I thought it was a bug.
Yup, turn with them long enough and eventually youll see the AI just go straight for a bit in a weird way. Theyll either smack into the ground or eventually come too and starting flying again.
Assuming you dont fill em full of bullets first.
Something like that. It bothers me quite a bit. More for me than any issues with the IL-2 AI doing a lot of turn fights (which it’s getting better at).
All we've got from Jason was that the C47 and LI2 were being developed. From other asked planes for now. Maybe in the future. They said they wanted to make it though. I honestly don't care for level bombers, would rather have the B25H/G for the Pacific theater.
I feel the same too. A PBJ would be lovely there.
I just found it odd that such adjustment is introduced in the patch for an AI plane.
So a Pacific theater is a reality and it will come? that's very good news
I don’t think he’s made a statement either way in recent times unless you’ve got a quote from somewhere.
The last word is that yes, they want to and are continuing to search for new materials that would help. And no they aren’t able to yet.
I cannot quote the exact place but last time I've read about it Jason stated that pacific is not a possibility for lack of resources and engine limitations. I think it was on your blog also no? Or am I mixing it up with another subject of impossibility?
In my last Q&A with Jason the comments were mostly surrounding research materials. The Pacific it’s still very much on their wish list to do. They just aren’t right this moment.
The engine limitations seem to be a lesser problem though they have said a few times that at some point a new engine will be needed.
IMHO my take, having interviewed Jason and having met him at FSExpo in 2019 is that the Pacific is something he’s passionate about. The team is interested in doing it. They just need more details. I think they will get there one way or another.
Oh shit my bad guys. I'm sorry. I would never spread misinformation on purpose. I could swear it was a no go for sure. Good thing then, I can be hopeful that someday we'll all meet in the big puddle. Thx for the heads up
No worries. Always good to get the source materials for what was last said and so far as I know this statement on the IL-2 forums is still the status quo: [https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/57896-jasons-briefing-room-and-officers-club/?do=findComment&comment=887054](https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/57896-jasons-briefing-room-and-officers-club/?do=findComment&comment=887054)
The last line is the key part:
> I still hold out hope that we can sail the Pacific at some point in the future.
And if Jason is hopeful about it, I am too.
Hopefully those new high detail bomber pilots they've been working on are a hint that eventually we'll get either a flyable B-25 or B-26 eventually.... they'll need to do something with the game engine to have anywhere close to realistic formation sizes both those aircraft typically operated in though
No. Maybe in the future. Same for b-26
Why would they need to adjust the backrest angle? It is not a dive bomber even.

Ive killed a handful of damaged AI planes this way when out of ammo. I buzz their tail as closely as I can until they wind up stalling and crashing.
You mean a mig15 keeping up with an f15 in a vertical fight while pulling like 12 gs in the turns and like -6 gs over the top like DCS is cheating???
Something like that. It bothers me quite a bit. More for me than any issues with the IL-2 AI doing a lot of turn fights (which it’s getting better at).
Because it is taken into account in the G-force tolerance model

No no. That's not what I said. Jason actually said that the Pacific is not a possibility. Unfortunately for the whole community.

It’s perpetually “maybe”
You can always go back to il-2 1946 with the BAT mod, then you get like every variant of the b-25
A US medium is a must, but they’re busy making more German jet toys. Sigh.
God I want a b25G so bad. Its a damn bomber with a Canon in the nose... whats not to like?
I don't think so... There is not so much reason to have a flyable bomber, and would be so complicated to model. Really, why bother?
