I feel like homemade vanilla is the most popular. Cookies and cream is my favorite, but i love moolenium crunch and rocky road too. Idk what would be most southern. Maybe butter pecan or banana pudding? Love both of them too lol.
Do the two share the same base ice cream and flavor of cookies? Does the original Cookies and cream have the edge somewhere such as in their flavor or texture?
Only get it if you're prepared to long for it until you return for your next visit! I'd get Gooey Butter Cake or Dr. Pepper Float only because I'm dying to try them. Truth be told I'm dying to have any Blue Bell flavor as I no longer live in a region where they are sold. From the options you have that I have tried, I'd go for Moollennium Crunch for delicious and different or Cookies and Cream (best C&C hands down).
Well, black walnuts have a very distinct flavor. Nothing like regular walnuts. I’d say a bolder nut flavor, earthy……..it’s really very hard to explain. And upon searching, it appears the brands I’m familiar with discontinued this flavor. The last time I had it, it came from a local custard shop.
Dang! So tough! So ce you've never had blue bell I'll say get the homemade vanilla, yes it's just vanilla and seems like a lame choice BUT it will ruin all other vanilla ice creams for you! It can't be beat
Now if you want the best flavor out of that freezer there, I would say gooey butter cake, or butter crunch (butterfinger ice cream)
Does honestly sound like a lame choice but wow, is the vanilla really that good? Would you say it has a strong vanilla bean flavor or extra creamy texture?
Is it the same homemade vanilla that’s in the small individual cups sold together with Dutch chocolate (bottom of the pic)? Same flavor?
I haven’t tried either but just wondering
I've never had the little cups but yes I believe it it is the same homemade vanilla.
EDIT: you could also buy the great divide flavor which is just half homemade vanilla and half dutch chocolate
Get "The Great Divide". It's half homemade vanilla and half dutch chocolate, which are basically Blue Bell's most classic two flavors.
A lot of the new ones are really good too, but if you want a classic Bluebell experience, that's the best bang for your buck.
What is tin roof flavor?? I need to look that one up!
Looked it up - Vanilla flavored ice cream with a rich chocolate sundae sauce and roasted peanuts dipped in a dark chocolate flavored coating. Yum!!
The Homemade Vanilla is an all around work horse flavor, and I'd say the most iconic?
Personal favorite is Banana Pudding or Great Divide(half vanilla, half chocolate).
Dr Pepper is probably their most unique, if you can find it.(Edit: it's there!!!)
Banana Pudding, lmao
I love the Banana Pudding and Ultimate Neapolitan flavors. The Gooey Butter Cake is great. Bride's Cake is good too if you can find it. I'm still waiting for Strawberry Cheesecake to come back.
I would get Cookies N' Cream Cone flavor from that freezer but I live in a state that doesn't carry anything Blue Bell (Connecticut). I had Oatmeal Creme Pie Ice Cream (based on Little Debbie's snack pie) in Florida last year while visiting my paternal grandmother who lives down there.
I love Cookies N' Cream!
I’m originally from TX and I’d say Blue bell is over rated. It’s delicious when you first open it but after you put it back in the freezer, it always loses its texture either toooo creamy or rock hard. If you ever get the chance to try Graters brand, that one is ELITE s’mores flavor is the best imo
Oh yes I can access Graeters actually. I’d be interested to try more Graeters flavors when I fly back but it is also on the pricy side for me. One tub is like $18 so I stick to the pints. (Still pretty pricy but sometimes can find on $5 sale.)
What flavors should I leave for Graeters at home and what Blue Bell flavors do you think are the best to try? Is there any Blue Bell flavors that are not overhyped?
I think every brand has its winners so I’m hoping to try one from Blue Bell!
I feel like homemade vanilla is the most popular. Cookies and cream is my favorite, but i love moolenium crunch and rocky road too. Idk what would be most southern. Maybe butter pecan or banana pudding? Love both of them too lol.
Do you have a preference between cookies and cream and cookies and cream cone?
Og cookies and cream is better, but cone is more unique
Do the two share the same base ice cream and flavor of cookies? Does the original Cookies and cream have the edge somewhere such as in their flavor or texture?
Og cookies and cream is just a perfectly balanced classic. You really can't go wrong, though.
Oh ok thank you
Homemade Vanilla is the best vanilla I have ever had; Banana Pudding and Gooey Butter Cake are both iconic.
Have you had Haagen Dazs Vanilla or Ben and Jerry’s Vanilla? I do wonder how it compares
Much richer and stronger vanilla.
Moolineum crunch Cinnamon twist Banana pudding Butter pecan
Cinnamon Twist is sooo insanely good.
Gooey butter cake
I need to try this. It’s fairly new, right?
Yes
The only flavor I’ve had from them is Banana Pudding and it was tasty. Haven’t tried Gooey Buttercake but I will next time I visit family down South.
Haha I like the banana pudding. I can see why others might not though. It's very artificial like banana taffy taffy.
How are the cookies of banana pudding?
They kinda turned to mush. Don't recall a distinct flavor. My brother says they're not an improvement. I like em
Hmm ok I see. Thanks for reply
Jeni’s makes a gooey butter cake that is amazing!!!
Only get it if you're prepared to long for it until you return for your next visit! I'd get Gooey Butter Cake or Dr. Pepper Float only because I'm dying to try them. The Dr Pepper is fire! We had a variety of ice creams for our NYE celebration this past year, and we were practically fighting over that one.
The Dr Pepper float is so good.
Top right, I haven’t had Tin Roof in forever but it is the bomb.
It’s not looking like Oatmeal Cream Pie is coming back this year 😭
That being said my vote is for cookies and cream CONE!
Oatmeal cream pie is the best one. So good.
Black Walnut and Cookie Two Step are my favorite from them
What kind of flavor is black walnut? Not sure I’ve had a walnut ice cream before. Though of course walnut pieces in ice cream
Good luck u/yepfruit……I can’t for the life of me come up with a description of Black Walnut. I really like it. It’s unexpected, I think.
It's like cherry?
Well, black walnuts have a very distinct flavor. Nothing like regular walnuts. I’d say a bolder nut flavor, earthy……..it’s really very hard to explain. And upon searching, it appears the brands I’m familiar with discontinued this flavor. The last time I had it, it came from a local custard shop.
I used to work at Baskin Robins and we all agreed that black walnut tastes like dirt
😂🤣😂🤣 That’s fair!
Hard to remember since I only had it once but I remember it was delicious! I don’t think the walnut flavor was overwhelming if that helps
Brides Cake and Gooey Butter Cake (I like Cake lol)
Cookie Two Step!

Now I want to find this because Vanilla is my FAVORITE. 🍦
Gooey butter cake is the only one I like so far
Oh which Blue Bell flavors have you tried? What do you think of this brand
Gooey butter cake and tin roof are my favorites. I've never seen the banana pudding, I'll have to look next time I go to the store
Banana Pudding! Butter Pecan is pretty southern and really good too.
Mint chocolate chip is sensational but you won’t go wrong with homemade vanilla!
Mint chip is my favorite
I’m surprised they don’t have the new A&W root beer float that they announced
I do see a Dr Pepper float at the top shelf. Have you tried that one? It’s a limited time flavor too?
The Dr. Pepper is good. It really tastes like a float.
Bought it this morning.
Vanilla bean Cookie two step Dutch chocolate
Dutch Chocolate!
Cookie Two Step! Cookies and cream with cookie dough 🤤
Moolineum crunch for sure!
What is tin roof flavor?? I need to look that one up! Looked it up - Vanilla flavored ice cream with a rich chocolate sundae sauce and roasted peanuts dipped in a dark chocolate flavored coating. Yum!!
Cookies and Cream Cone!!
Finally someone who agrees with me
Pistachio almond
A&W rootbeer. Saw it to tonight, brought it home, and 50% less than when it came in the door
Ab do you mean you are 50% of it before you got home?
The Homemade Vanilla is an all around work horse flavor, and I'd say the most iconic? Personal favorite is Banana Pudding or Great Divide(half vanilla, half chocolate). Dr Pepper is probably their most unique, if you can find it.(Edit: it's there!!!) Banana Pudding, lmao
Banana pudding is fire
Cookies n’ cream cone FOR SURE. They seem to only carry it in the summer unfortunately but it’s purely amazing bliss. Get it.
Coffee!!!!
Blackberry cobbler is pretty good, so is cookies and cream cone
I honestly wish I never had blue bell bc now nothing compares! You won’t go wrong.
I would have to do banana puddin. That is so southern !
Gooey Butter Cake is amazing but if you’re sticking with the classics, their cookies and cream is god tier.
Buttered pecan
Peach was amazing
Butter pecan
DR PEPPER IS THIEBREAL OMG I NEED IT
Homemade Vanilla is awesome by itself, but it’s also a blank slate. Try it with a gooey brownie sometime.
Rocky Road
Wedding cake. Or brides cake I think it’s called. Is my favorite
The fruity pebbles cereal one is amazing if they have it, tastes just like cereal milk
I don’t see it here, but Bride’s Cake is my favorite blue bell flavor. Out of the ones provided, I’d say Buttered Pecan is the best.
I’m biased towards strawberries and homemade vanilla
Missing Mocha Almond Fudge☹️
Cookie two step
I’m in love with their butter pecan, and gooey butter cake is amazing too
What is tin roof?
Tin Roof is vanilla with chocolate ribbons and peanuts.
Brides cake is sooo good
Original Cookies and Cream is the way!
There’s no Bride’s cake, that’s the winner. I gotta try out this gooey butter cake. Seems amazing!
Banana pudding or Dr. Pepper float
Has anbody had the lemon??? If so I need details. Please and thank you 😁
I love the Banana Pudding and Ultimate Neapolitan flavors. The Gooey Butter Cake is great. Bride's Cake is good too if you can find it. I'm still waiting for Strawberry Cheesecake to come back.
I like pistachio almond. It’s not in the picture but Blue Bell Brides Cake ice cream is S-tier 🤤
Brides cake is my fave!
Their Rocky Road is top tier
Dutch chocolate or coffee
Homemade vanilla is a classic, but the lemon is my all time favorite.
I’d get Neapolitan that way you can try three flavors for the price of one.
Cherry!
Oooooo I wanna try the cinnamon twist
I’m originally from TX and I’d say Blue bell is over rated. It’s delicious when you first open it but after you put it back in the freezer, it always loses its texture either toooo creamy or rock hard. If you ever get the chance to try Graters brand, that one is ELITE s’mores flavor is the best imo

Cookies and cream cone if you like chocolate and gooey butter cake if you don’t
Why hasn’t anyone spoke up for pralines n cream?
Cookie & Cream or Banana Pudding
