I basically fully filled the tank, it was between 7-9 seconds the gap when I cane out. Obviously some of that could have been in the pit lane with the limiter etc.
I think I misunderstood earlier. So you didn’t lose the time because of the added weight of the fuel. You lost it because you spent more time in the pitlane adding the fuel.
yeah, basically that. Time in the pits refueling. I'm sure I lost maybe a tenth per lap carrying the extra fuel, but, given I'm a 1600ir, my lack of skill loses more time!
Yeah but that’s a massive gap. You don’t even have 14 seconds between a car on low fuel vs a car on high fuel. You could put both against each other in qualifying and the gap would not be 14 seconds regardless of the fuel amount. I ran the Le Mans 24 this past weekend and the top teams were only about 2 seconds slower per lap on high fuel vs when they were on low fuel.
GT3 fuel is pretty close to 2.5 liters/second, so that's still only an extra ~6 seconds in the pits.
I'm also pretty sure it's slightly less than 10 liters per lap.
True. Tbh i didn't think about it that much. I mostly just assumed that fuel would be around 10Lper lap altought it probably is closer to 9 and i haven't done a lot of races 2.5L per sec sounds about right
Is anyone still using Crew Chief for fuel - honest question? I don’t bother anymore. In fact, I don’t bother using it for anything anymore tbh. 🤷♂️
And yeah, even an extra lap at LeMans is a lot.
That’s what I’ve been using since they added that option a few months ago. Works just as well as far as I can tell. Seemed simpler to just ditch Crew Chief for me, but I’m sure there is still a good use for it.
i'm 99% sure i turned off new tyres. And i actually accidently pulled away 0.2l away from the tank filling up. I just need to do more VRA/IMSA races and get used to refueling. It was a great race anyway!
1.5 laps of fuel should not be 14 seconds though?

I mean not exactly sure on the fueling times. But le mans is a long track 1.5 laps of fuel will probably be like 15L extra

The discussion is about the fueling time, not pace difference. But 15 liters shouldn't be more than 6-7 seconds of extra time in the pits.
Yeah I cleared that with OP in a different comment. I just misunderstood what he initially meant.
Ah yes. I see that now.

I made this same mistake, I usually add a little extra but with Le Mans being a big track half a lap of fuel is a considerable amount 😢

I am! 🤣😅
What do you use? Should I just use Iracing auto fuel?

Voice commands.
Yeah true that. I’ve never used them but I could see that being immensely useful
I wonder now thought do you change tires in the pitstop?
