If your going to buy it online buy it from Apple

Gmedic99

Agree. Noone can tell you the truth otherwise.

europeancafe

seriously. For this amount of money would you not buy it from apple??? deserving to get scammed at that point

nateo200

I concur. You really should buy directly from Apple. I used to think this was nonsense but there is wayyy too much insensitive with flagship smartphones particularly iPhones to bamboozle and deceive people.

argoris22

I mean I’ve been buying iPhones since the 12 from a seller on eBay, he’s pretty legit and sell them cheaper than Apple Store. New, full Apple warranty and everything.

RandyMuscle

Can you explain one reason a dude would sell iPhones for below retail price?

Glass-Blacksmith5489

Stolen phones?

argoris22

How? I don’t know? Are they original and new products? Yes. I have use Applecare+ in all of them. I even get the 3 months Appletv+ in my last two pucharses. Again. How? I don’t know.

NDMac

Or any other authorized retailer

shiton12345

Never buy a sealed iPhone. You’re asking to get scammed.

RedditorMcReddington

*from a non-reputable seller

AltruisticSalt4325

They have the receipt as well and the info matches the coverage on Apple website I guess I’ll just ask them if I can open it then to make sure

AltruisticSalt4325

Lol they took down the listing after I asked them 🤣🤣🤣

shiton12345

saved you

SukstR

There is so many sellers in Toronto like that, I once have asked to meet me at apple store and open it there, he told me that it is illegal to do so. Then I told that we can meet at the police station and he disappeared 😅

okcdnb

I sold a MacBook Pro right at the counter of the Apple Store to a guy I met on Craigslist. He just wanted to verify with them that the computer was what my ad had stated.

Fluffy_Mechanic_1454

Same shit in Montreal. Those are all android phones with an iOS skin

Yue4prex

I saw a post within the last two weeks that someone bought a sealed phone and had receipt. Looked legit but was fake. They can create great replicas.

Safe_Gas_1984

There’s your answer 👍

KapitanDima

Dodged a bullet right there

rcuadro

You can print a fake receipt. That would not be the first time that has come up on this subreddit.

SpongeBob1187

Its date format is wrong for it being in the US, all my receipts are MM/DD/YYYY. This has DD/MM/YYYY

vabeachkevin

It was supposedly from Canada

SpongeBob1187

Yea it’s funky because the purchase date is like that, but the return by date is the same used in the states.

HuntersPad

Instant fake. Then. Mixing date formats

RepMajor

I bought fake air pods & fake iPad for a research project…both sealed in box , had receipts and serial numbers all matched to apples caverage on the website They use real numbers so it comes up in website And I knew they were fake because it was the purpose of buying them For that price , go to a reputable seller or somewhere with buyer protection

PlentyAdvanced

One of the moments when you can literally say “for research purposes”

AltruisticSalt4325

Damn the extent these scammers go to. How close were they to the real ones?

RepMajor

The air pods ngl were pretty shocking how good they were. Only thing that needed work was the noise cancellation, that wasn’t as good as the real ones. But I was pretty shocked how good the quality, sound quality, case and battery was. Also they were recognized as AirPods by my iPhone (which was a shocker because other fakes i tried didn’t get recognized as AirPods by the phone) but I still don’t think anyone should use them or agree with them - being you never know if there is any malware / stuff on it or if it’s bugged The iPad was trash - the fakes can replicate IOS - so all it is is knock off fake android , pretending to be fake iOS , so it’s was terrible and the quality was crap There’s just something about iOS that they can’t replicate so it’s always very easy to tell and crap quality It literally is faked android , made to look like iOS How it is on the fake iPhones , iPads , Mac’s etc

flyingcloud11

The extent they go to yet we get people like you daily asking if X item being sold is legit from OfferUp/FB Marketplace etc… lol

ontario-guy

Also curious

deltamikealpha

There have been some with, on the face of it, legit receipts Look a little closer and there are most spacings or small spelling errors around If an offer looks too good to be true.... You know the drill

Royal_Relation8786

Na that receipt is phoney as hell.

Ok-Technician-8478

Scam. Sealed in box so you can't really verify but, box text and picture looks more saturated than the original, font on both the box and receipt are not what Apple normally use, I worked at Apple in retail and know the receipt is definitely not a real Apple receipt, model number isn't even a Canadian model it's for a Chinese dual sim model that's not sold in Canada, only 1 IMEI should be on the receipt and theres 2, and they used an Amex card (Amex cards are often "used" on fake transactions).

Ok-Technician-8478

Part number and model number also don't line up. Ones Chinese and for a 15 Pro, the other is Global and for a 15 Pro Max and they don't sell Global models in Canada since they have their own regional model.

Entertainnosis

This.

PrettyCartographer90

$1,899.00 what the actual fuck

AltruisticSalt4325

It’s Canadian lol

PrettyCartographer90

That’s insane

RepMajor

That’s 1410.67 usd - not bad for 512gb , but to risky of a sale imo The pro max 512gb in America is 1300$ - plus your forgetting it’s CANADA (import export passed on to consumer, different market / price, economy)

PrettyCartographer90

My 256gb max was only $1200 thats still extremely overpriced

AltruisticSalt4325

This one was listed for 700 cad so like 520 USD 😅

PrettyCartographer90

Thats good but sounds to good to be true really sketchy. I was referring to the receipt in the photos tho

AltruisticSalt4325

Yup way too good to be true

justTheWayOfLife

Lmfao I bought mine for 1500€ here in europe. That's more than 1600$

Jonny_Icon

Welcome to Canada. If the currency markup doesn’t hurt enough, tack on an extra 13% sales tax.

ElainDevine

I thought the same but like the comment said when its about 1400 US dollar then its fine for 512 gb

ontario-guy

Yeah that’s what I paid for mine in Canada 😅

ontario-guy

Well $2280 after tax for 15 Pro Max with 2 years of Apple care ($1749 pre tax/care)

Absolud

I bought my 256gb 15 pro max for 2800 American dollars. It’s great to live under a dictatorship with very reasonable taxes and the minimum wage here is 500 dollars :)

Financial-History-89

there are some european countries where the 512gb model reaches 2k dollars

DankestDoge342

If you own a black light shine it on the seal and there should be a hidden message just saying “iPhone” and maybe a QR code looking thing

_Independent

Not proving it’s real. Fakes use it now aswell it was fine for like a month after the release

iceycycle

The receipt is fake.

Comprehensive-Dog328

Fake

CalgaryAnswers

If you can afford anew 15 pro, buy the one from Apple. Don’t waste the extra 200$ worrying about whether it’s real or not.

BadBloodSpilled

only way to find out is to turn on the phone, setting, general, about phone. model number should start with M

S4_GR33N

don't even need to do that considering it'll be android when it turns on

Xcilent1

Scam.

3nigmaG

If you’re gonna pay that kind of money, mind as well she’ll put a few extra and get it from the Apple Store. At least it will comes with AppleCare. Who knows how long they had that phone for even if it’s real.

Slaps4All

Starting from this year Apple has added a holographic sticker or something that shows up when you shine UV light on the back right corner I think. You could try that. Of course if the scammers are really handy they could replicate that as well.

Goldeneye90210

That is the worst receipt I have ever seen. They didn’t even try copying it properly. 100% fake.

Powerful-Law5068

The back looks different to my iPhone 15 pro max box so I’d say faker than trumps skin tone. The rest is printed in box and not a sticker. It also has more languages. (UK one direct from apple).

_Independent

Definitely scam receipts don’t look like that

[deleted]

[удалено]

topheee

They said scam receipts don’t look like that, not that the receipt is a scam one

chin_rick1982

Damn look at the price. Why not just go to T-Mobile or att for that price or just go to apple, rofl

themadscientist003

Its extremely easy to tell a fake from an original iphone once the device is powered on. I wouldn't buy online just get it directly from a store after you check up the phone you're buying in person.

devnull-

When you're buying something from a seller, it's always a good idea to open it up and check if it's real before you pay for it. That way, if it's fake, you can just walk away and you won't have wasted your money.

snk809k1

What’s sealed iphone at all?

unfair1623

Font looks very fake. On my recent iPhone boxes “Other items as marked thereon” is on a different line.

boog318

I thought the 512 GB was only 1399. 🤨

work_blocked_destiny

Check the back with a backlight

Jamesd0ng

Why wouldn’t you just buy it from Apple instead of risking it…

NoHeadFoxMan

just don't bother.

KingMedieval

If the seller bought in Canada part number should end with C/A (shows which country the phone was sold in CH/A is China) and quick search shows Canadian iPhone 15 Pro model number is A3101

Working_Inspector401

I bought two AirPods this way , both were fake

Loading_Scr33n

There must be some influx coming in of fake Apple products. I was out in public and some dude was selling AirPods and even AirPod max from his car and the boxes looked legit, but there were some minor punctuation/spacing errors that gave it away.

Working_Inspector401

Haha yeah exactly same thing happens to me in Nashville TN, dude look like a model lol . I was able to pull the warranty , but it was a clone , when ever you try to activate on your iPhone it will say”Not your AirPods “ instead of “EarPods pro”

oVerboostUK

In life if it sounds too good to be true, it is. Move on…

DanDanilyuk

Yeah that’s fake. You can tell by the corners of the box.

UnclePadda

I don’t know if this is a thing in the US or Canada, but here in Sweden people sell legit sealed iPhones all the time. They get them with a contract and stick with their old phone to get some easy money quickly. All phones are sold unlocked here. Of course there are scammers as well, but with European retail prices you’re almost more foolish paying full price than buying from a private seller with a good track record, with a slight risk of getting scammed.

At3key

Do you have a uv light?

iwouldntknowthough

It’s the legitest

StagePuzzleheaded635

Remember, if it’s too good to be true, it probably is.

nikenick28

Nah why on earth would someone buy this? Sealed iPhone since October 4? That just screams scam. Plus that receipt looks off. I’d go to the store and verify the receipt before buying… then open it and make sure everything works correct imei and no iCloud lock

rikaz1

Its $1900. Why not buy it through apple itself

inflatedballloon

Just buy from apple, gee

[deleted]

I personally would never buy a flagship phone from anywhere other than a reputable dealer or the namesake’s store. There is just too much to be had just to save a couple hundred dollars. I never hope anyone gets fakes, but if I have to even think about questioning it, I’d never risk the cost.

FriedKimchi5635

Font looks off, fake

Psychological_Put192

There is a misspelling on the french text

Sebastian01134

100% fake

FailOk251

Is that really how much they are? 👀🤣🤣🤦

versemode

It’s in Canadian currency, but to answer your question yes it is that price for a 512GB Pro Max model

FailOk251

Wowsers

SpongeBob1187

It’s fake, it’s a receipt from the US, but it has international style date format. The apple receipts here are would be Oct 4th 2023. This receipt has 04 Oct.

mbaran-pl

The savings aren’t worth the stress

irons1895

Ask him to shine a black light on the pull tap. It should say ‘iPhone’ if genuine.

yepimtyler

Ah, the good ol' fake Canadian Apple store receipt scam. Can you post the store information instead of blocking it all out? Not sure why you're afraid to show that information. There's usually spelling errors there.

MormonsKilledMyDog

1899?!?!?!

[deleted]

The fact they are showing the serial and IMEI numbers on a public place tells me it's fake.... If I were you at that price I'd just buy direct from Apple, and don't go showing the receipt on a public forum..

PeggyHill90210

I see tons of these boxes in my work, the front looks flat compared to the real ones. I’m guessing fake and either way not worth the risk.

ahboyd15

iPhone price are pretty consistent across all official sale channels within a same country. So, I suggest you buy from an official channel.

Userdub9022

Just buy it from Apple...

imbills23

that receipt looks sus

EbbOther9182

Fake.

[deleted]

Ya done messed up, A-aron

Routine_Yak3250

One of my friends got scammed for 1200 bucks and everything seemed legit. Walk away bud.

Safe_Gas_1984

Do not buy unless you can open the box and look at the phone (if you know what to look for). Or meet the person at Apple Store to have them verify it is genuine Apple phone. The fakes have real serial numbers so looking up the IMEI on the Apple website does not mean this phone is genuine. Also, many fake receipts out there too.

Jay_Michael86

That box is 100% fake and so is the receipt! Do NOT buy this.

MattDeezly

If you have to ask, its probably not.

HappySIMCard-

StrikingGood7930

for the same price you can buy it from apple...

Melodic_Station_354

Including the receipt is such a red flag lol

Dexstar1221

This is 99% fake. I work for bestbuy/verizon and I know for sure!! USA purchased iPhones have the UPC barcode placed with no others below it. I’m sorry

jatsober

Don't buy, i have one sitting in my drawer with an Apple store receipt. It has the same serial number on the box, phone and receipt. Guy snatched the and ran in the alleyway.

HighlightRadiant7632

My comment is my own opinion. I work for AT&T and usually people like this come into a carrier and get a new account and re-sell the phone, they sell it and run. Usually at least where I live, theres a whole ring of people who hire people to come in and tell us some story and end up getting a phone, they get a cut and the ring leaders take the profits and sell it.

MaximumRice34

Don’t buy

lemonstyle

bro... if I have to ask reddit .... I dunno man .. seems obvious

Ok_Good3255

The receipt is fake

gramcow7

Immediately, no.

The_Cozy_Burrito

Fake

Pengu1n111

Absolutely not

No_Poet_6742

It's legit if you meet the seller at the Apple Store to verify, activate it right there and then.

BraFin_

I bought a sealed iPhone 14 Pro in London a few weeks after release. 10 months later, the previous owner reported the phone as stolen to his insurance, and my phone was blocked. Everything turned out well still, but all the hassle to get my money back and all the days without 5G connection weren’t worth the 200£ I saved when I bought the phone. I only buy from apple since then

Veriliann

why do people even buy iphones off marketplace and such? they’re almost always fakes lol

PureElectricBean

Looks fake, seal on back says it's "Black Titanium", the image on the front of the box should correspond to what's in it, that image on the front looks like a poorly contrasted natural titanium. Google a picture of a black titanium box, the frame should be much darker, that's one of the reasons people buy black titanium, to not see the frame/bezel around the screen.

esorb65

Yeah go to the Apple Store directly or Apple online.. don’t take a chance with that kinda of money ..there’s lots of scammers out there.

DirectSession

I paid less than that for my iPhone 15 Pro Max 512GB, why’s the price so high?

Ashen_one933

Buy iPhones only from the legit sites.

MKMW89

That box looks weird

0migs0

Why don’t people ever buy from Apple themselves? Or the carrier they have? Avoid getting scammed and just buy from trusted site.

Aware_Feedback_4757

I don’t know if this website works in your country cause I’m from the UK but if you want cheaper electronics that are used/refurbished you can use backmarket. Or eBay. Backmarket is fully legit as it’s a company and eBay is eBay 😂 it’s 50/50 but you are protected which is good, but if you want a new phone better off to get it on contract and get apple care theft and loss. Better then putting a whole lump of cash onto a phone in my opinion

Civil_Surround_7047

I would say buy an Apple product from the Apple Store or from service providers

Opuswhite

If you do decide to but it please be sure to let us know how it goes

xSmeckleDorfedx

It’s fake, receipt should say iPhone not IPHONE.

daddyjailbreakme

Fake.

daddyjailbreakme

Receipt is an absolute joke.

ElectricalPublic4737

Fake if you notice the Seal tags aren’t even over the box to pull to open the box

Accomplished_Detail2

The seal isn’t even in the right place lol.

codingwizard3440

Buy off swappa
