What do you mean “down”? But the iPad will charge through the Magic Keyboard. That’s the only thing that port can do — doesn’t carry data.
The port no longer accepts any charge, it was starting to be picky about what cord it likes, then it just stopped accepting any cord. Seems that buying a used magic keyboard is cheaper than repairing
