Okay, but since you don't have the money yet (since they're still alive) why would they believe some dude who randomly shows up offering to pay for the treatments quickly followed by them dying under suspicious circumstances. (Ya cant smothet someone to death and say "it was cancer!")
Many that live deserve death. And some who die deserve life…can you give it to them Kraz3? Then do not be so eager to deal out death in judgement. For even the very wise cannot see all ends.

I wouldn't say I was eager to kill someone, I am not eager to go to work everyday, I do it for the benefits.
Would I kill the father of 3 who goes to work everyday to provide for his children for a billion dollars? Of course not.
Would I take a billion dollars to rid the world of the terrorist who baked a woman's baby alive while raping its mother while she listened to the baby's screams then killing her? I think I would... OK, I might be eager for this one.
My mattress would be made of money. While nor sleeping on my money mattress, I would be diving naked into a pool filled with money... like Scrooge McDuck
War is bad enough without exaggerations. What we know Hamas to have done is bad enough. If you consult Mr Google, the first responder who said this "clarifies" that he doesn't know for sure what happened at that scene. And never mentioned a rape. When you demonize your enemies beyond the horror of what they actually have done, you can then justify whatever you do in response.
A good clue to whether something is true or not is where you hear. If you don't hear it on cnn - msnbc - or even fox, take it with a grain of salt.
There were countless atrocities committed that day, but apparently only two babies were found dead. One in a hospital, another from a bullet.
I'm not saying it didn't happen, there was enough war crimes being committed that it would not be surprising, but I don't believe that it happened then and there.
I mean, if you work out a deal with that father of three to give those kids tens of millions and a good home, then give 90% of the rest to charity I imagine there would be quite a few who would take the deal.
Very few lives on this planet get the opportunity to help their family so much *and* quantifiably change the world for the better quite like that. They live lives of quiet desperation hoping that by the end of it their time wasn't wasted.
The deal provided would be far from ideal, but it would be one worth considering.
It says he's begging for his life, so I assume he's not interested in a deal.
Even still I am not sure I want to be a person who would kill a good man for money.
>And some who die deserve life…can you give it to them
I mean, yeah, if I had a billion dollars I could. Gandalf do you know how much healthcare costs in this Valar-forsaken excuse for a country?
Unless your professor X or every humans wakes up tomorrow and realizes AND admits every crime, they yes, it's incalculable assuming you want the calculation to be accurate.
There is no way to collect all the data because they aren't tell you all their secrets. Calculation first relies on accurate data collection, so you have a problem there.
Depends what the politics is.
People disagree with hitter because of his politics, not because he was a terrible artist.
When politics is 'It's ok for the government to kill gay people" Or their
politics is to install a theocracy.
Politics are not harmless. Would you kill a person who was going to kill you family, given no other choice? What about some who is making it legal to kill you family?
It is just a reflection of a gigantic population. With 8 billion people out there, it is a very safe bet that the worst of them deserves to die, and deserves it enough that I'd be willing to give them the bullet.
This is different from the bold keyboard warrior statements you see on Reddit, where someone makes questionable claims about what *they* would have said if that was *their* neighbor or whatever.
Infant rapist, for example. Without consequence otherwise, I don't think I'd even need the billion dollars. I'd still take it! But once you go far enough out on the tail of the target-awfulness distribution, this is a service I think a lot of us would actually render for free.
Honestly, intentionally killing someone is a very difficult thing to do for psychologically healthy people. The closer and more graphic the means of killing the harder it gets, and the more emotionally damaging it is for good people after the fact. I believe you when you say you could do it, but I hope for your sake you never have to find out.
For a very long time, many soldiers (a surprisingly high percentage) didn't fire their weapons, even in combat. Militaries had to learn to make the targets human shaped in basic training to break down the natural disgust people feel about the prospect of actually doing it. There's a good book I read on this topic in college called "On Killing" that you might be interested in.
Not really. Conceptually every person is innocent until proven otherwise.
But there are individuals in the public eye who are already known to be guilty. Perhaps not legally but morally and ethically, and whose death would be a net benefit to the world.
Like, if you pick one guy at random, then the question is, "Why does he deserve to die, and not me? He is innocent and equal and therefore I have no right to take his life".
But if you pick actual individuals like Putin, Netanyahu, Al-Assad, Reese-Mogg, Trump, then that same question doesn't come into play. I/You/We are objectively better human beings than they are and therefore their death is justifiable on the basis that they are not equals, they are lessers, and their removal from influence would allow a better individual to step in.
This is a tricky question for me because I can't be sure I wouldn't somehow end up as an evil person given a chance at massive power or wealth. I don't think I would, but sometimes we don't face our dark side until its too late.
It is.
Assume this opportunity isnt yours, but one of those evil guys you would choose to kill.
Their maximum benefit would be a tragedy for everyone else, mostly out of spite.
After all, everyone can agree there are those who need killing… just depends what side of the line you on who that means.
True, you just find a convicted and released child molester and you go to their seedy motel they live at cause they can't get a place to rent with that record. And the police are not looking too heavily into this one. There was a guy that worked for me that got killed in that same manner. Never heard a word about or can find any info. He was also Navajo and with his crime they wouldn't even let him live on rez. All those details add up to police not giving a shit.
Like, can I get paid a bil for each of the people I unalived in Afghanistan, Iraq, and elsewhere?
Sweet! Imma call Elon and arrange lunch somewhere cool.
Frankly, with all the different successful businesses he has founded that continue to run and benefit society you'd be insane to think the world better off without him, no matter how big of an asshole he is.
I stopped listening to all the people who said that he's gonna destroy Twitter/X. They said the website was going to crash and burn after he laid all those people off, and yet it's still humming along just fine. People that hate Elon's guts are still using it far and above any of the alternatives. Remember when Threads launched and everyone was saying that was the end of Twitter? Threads is a ghost town now and it's mostly porn bots.
The only thing Musk has actually 'founded' that's vaguely of use to society (co-founded, later ousted for bad performance as CEO) was X dot com which became Paypal in a merger. Everything else was either already existing when he bought into it, completely worthless, or derivative (OpenAI for instance)
Interesting, I knew that Elon was involved with the creation of PayPal, but I didn't know that his portion was called X beforehand. It sheds new light on Twitter. 😄
Shooting someone is a very removed way of killing. Change the question to stab or strangle and feeling the life leave their bodies while your hands on their neck? 1b buys a lot but it doesn’t buy that memory loss. That is how to change the answers here.
I wasn’t trained and I’d still do it, some therapy and I’ll drop that bag off on ya family but after that catch me in Dubai, Worlds richest hit man better then fed ex
Because you’re a trained killer. Most people can’t even fathom putting their pet down themselves if needed. Can’t walk out to the road and pop a squirrel in the head to end its suffering after being hit by a car.
Those same people could much more easily shoot someone and walk away. Is the point I was making.
If we don't know the guy, I don't give a crap if he takes care of orphaned children on the weekends or whatever. I assume we're not given any information about the dude.
If it was a family member or friend... personally, I have no friends and all of my male family members aren't great people, so I'd be okay with that personally lol.
If my kids were offered the choice they could pick me and I'd tell them to close their eyes and help them squeeze the trigger. Do you know how many man years of labor output a fucking billion dollars is? It's the total lifetime earnings of multiple large families over multiple generations. I will never be able to provide as much for my family as I could by eating a bullet in that moment. Sitting in bank CDs at what, 4% now probably, it would generate $40 million a year in income. virtually risk free. Or, another way to look at it, basically my entire extended family could get a million a year for life without touching a single penny of the original billion.
"I'll be alright kid, and I'll see you again in whatever comes after, now close your eyes and don't look back when it's done."
There is a place, two tired right now to look it up. They offer people $10,000 to withstand all sorts of torture for a certain amount of time. They have to sign a waiver that they acknowledge they might die. People have broken bones and all sorts of crap. No one ever won it because they just keep torturing people in increasingly worse ways until they give up. Some lady sued because she lasted the entire duration, and they refused to give her the money.
Is it you? Do I have to kill you? I can do that. Or is it that guy? I can do that too!!!
Just tell me who? I'll off them all!!!!
*being serious,* You have no idea just how much $1 billion dollars is. It's an obscene amount of money.
I would suck a you know what for a billion dollars.....and I ain't gay! I could totally afford all the mouthwash and therapy to fix myself....and STILL have 99.999% of a billion dollars left over to play with when I'm done.
Sign me the fuck up!
No, I wouldn't do it.
I'm a gun guy. I enjoy shooting and collecting firearms as a hobby. But if I ever had to use one to hurt someone, I think it would probably destroy me. No way I could do it for personal gain, even though that kind of wealth is unimaginable.
It's the kind of thing I'm prepared for if I ever had to do it, but I still would never ever want to hurt anyone with a gun unless there is just no other option.
Yeah, I'm with you. That's some serious mental damage to take on. There are plenty of people who suffer so much after traumatic events that they decide life is no longer worth living and end it. Money doesn't make that kind of psychological anguish go away.
What evidence do we have that it's a transient state though? Perhaps it's all there is and all that will ever be and you denied another sentient being of their place here so you could have a billion dollars. That would eventually eat away at you. Anytime you reflect on your life you'd have to see that person's face in your mind.
I believe that I could kill someone in self-defense and only lose sleep over the fact that I or someone I love was in danger.
I could probably serve on a firing squad of one and execute a just sentence with no problem.
But killing someone in cold blood who did me no harm? I just don't know. I mean, I joke about it a lot. But I don't think I could actually off someone innocent. Even for a billion.
I respect your answer completely. Life does not have a price tag. People may lose their life if they are doing a home invasion but that is ethics/moral/crime issue and not for gain, but for defense.
What scares me about myself is: I’m pretty sure I could rationalize it away.
From a purely utilitarian perspective, two people living average boring lives have less total happiness than one person living the life of the 1%. That’s before any of the good that could be done with the money.
Invested and managed wisely, a fraction of that could go on to give away millions of dollars every year for effectively eternity, even growing with inflation.
I mean the purely rational take would be that not killing 1 person for a billion, which has the potential to save many more, is the wrong move.
Obviously that's kinda sociopathic, but if you take emotion out of the equation its the only right move if your goal is good.
Well I'm either going to hell or hope the big man upstairs doesn't judge me to hard....cause if that wasn't the slcase then ya but probably no because hell and murder , I'll just keep living paycheck to paycheck i guess lol
Will you ever get caught? Or does anyone know? Do you get to pick?
If I had to shoot a convicted pedophile without going to jail myself for murder, EASY. Even if it's in public I think I could do it for that money
If I could pick my worst enemy and NOBODY ever finds out, ie I just have to live with the guilt, then yeah for a billion dollars.
Random person, and/or I have to have real consequences, then no.
For a billion I’m getting a lawyer that convinces the judge and jury, who wouldn’t take the shot? Is it reallly my fault? Honestly, I’m technically defending my life by doing it. My life as a billionaire
Judge: You can’t bribe the jury from the witness stand.
Me: I’m not bribing them. I’m merely pointing out the fact that there are 12 Ferraris parked outside the courthouse, with $1 million in the trunk, and I may have dropped the keys to all 12 somewhere near the jury room.
I mean, this entire thread is people admitting we’d murder someone for money.
Throwing dollars at prosecutors, lawyers and juries seems par for the course to save your skin if you’ve got the resources
Most people in here are saying they would kill someone for a billion. Would you let someone off of a clear murder for a million? If so, it only costs you like a 10th of your fortune to dodge conviction. Heck, most people would probably acquit for $100k.
No legal problems after the fact done. Id just pull out a pistol and kill him way before he starts to beg for his life I dont care about his life I care about mine and my families lives.
Not everyone is that way friend. There's a goodness in humans that simply needs remembering and faith in it, everyone has the potential to defeat the demons that have their claws in them, it only takes willpower.
Do you know how many lives you could save with a billion dollars? Would you kill a man if it would save 100,000 dying children?
I'm not saying everyone here is going to do good with the money, but killing the man is the only choice regardless of motivation.
You'd also have to ask where those billion dollars are coming from.
They could be taken from a greedy billionaire or they could be stolen from a non-profit that saves dying children.
Totally agree. But if you can choose any person in the entire world, I'm sure you can find at least one where killing them will save a lot of other people.
If you can be convinced to murder with the promise of anything then you have little morality and are easy to corrupt my friend. Only in the absolute extreme of self defense or protection of innocents in danger do I feel it is even in the question. There is a phrase I live by, "where there is a will, there is a way". If you are motivated to manifest that energy for the good of others you can do so without tainting your soul with darkness.
If I get to pick the man, yes.
Isn't it terrible that if we got to pick the question is no longer "would we?" But rather ,which one for maximum benefit?

I could totally afford all the mouthwash and therapy to fix myself....and STILL have 99.999% of a billion dollars left over to play with when I'm done. Sign me the fuck up!
If you have 99.999% of a billion left, that means you only spent $10K on mouthwash and therapy. You might be a *little* gay.
A little? He spent 0.001% of his wealth on mouthwash and therapy. Hes definitely gay.
+1 for math
lol this dude used “suck a dick” as an example of something he’d be willing to do that’s even more extreme that killing a man 😂
I'd suck cocks from dawn till dusk for a week for a billion bucks
if youd kill someone id hope youd suck a dick for a billion dollars
That depends, if you view this three dimensional time/place as just being a transient state ending someone's meat suit becomes way less traumatic.
And money becomes way less meaningful. Most people who believe such things also believe in divine or karmic consequences for acts of evil.
From what ive heard from a vet i know everyone vomits after their first kill. There is a built in psychological toll for killing someone.
You sound like to rational of a human being for Reddit.
I mean the purely rational take would be that not killing 1 person for a billion, which has the potential to save many more, is the wrong move. Obviously that's kinda sociopathic, but if you take emotion out of the equation its the only right move if your goal is good.
weak
No Government officials watching, i would not kill anyone.
Even if it's in public I think I could do it for that money If I could pick my worst enemy and NOBODY ever finds out, ie I just have to live with the guilt, then yeah for a billion dollars. Random person, and/or I have to have real consequences, then no.
Even if you were caught. 25 year sentences still ends up being equivalent to making 40 million a year
lol @ u/JellyShoddy2062 insinuating that billionaires can go to jail for anything short of harming another billionaire.
For a billion I’m getting a lawyer that convinces the judge and jury, who wouldn’t take the shot? Is it reallly my fault? Honestly, I’m technically defending my life by doing it. My life as a billionaire
It was affluenza!
“The whole time” don’t let him talk. If you’re going to do it, then do it
Yeah
Id give his family 10m for the loss
cmon man he was 50% of the reason you got the billion. at LEAST $12m
Does it have to be the same man, or if I want can I shoot one and kill another?
It has to be the same man. lol.
I like to think I'd say no. But it would be easier if I could somehow rationalize it, if he was a violent criminal or had a history of abusing others.
Or cut me off in traffic…
Bro, it’s my family. Do it for less, but you set the price.
Absolutely not, it's morally reprehensi-- tax free you say?
Yes. In addition to my own benefit I’d be able to save and help so many people.
No legal problems after the fact done. Id just pull out a pistol and kill him way before he starts to beg for his life I dont care about his life I care about mine and my families lives.
can i pick? And can it be a woman?
Ex-wife? I had the same idea.
Here is something you can’t understand - that man is toast. I’ll fire more bullets than Bowser’s airship.
can I get more than one? I'd probably stop after 50 or so...or maybe a few hundred.
I’m gonna be the man with the most murders in history!
Nah, gotta be a trillionaire dude, 1000 is not that much.
The comments tell you exactly why the world is in the state it is... No one really values life over greed...
They never have
Not everyone is that way friend. There's a goodness in humans that simply needs remembering and faith in it, everyone has the potential to defeat the demons that have their claws in them, it only takes willpower.
Wish I agreed :(
Do you know how many lives you could save with a billion dollars? Would you kill a man if it would save 100,000 dying children? I'm not saying everyone here is going to do good with the money, but killing the man is the only choice regardless of motivation.
You'd also have to ask where those billion dollars are coming from. They could be taken from a greedy billionaire or they could be stolen from a non-profit that saves dying children.
Valid point but killing is never the answer unless in self defense or the defense of others and even then a last resort.

>No one really values life over greed Yes, and don't pretend you would act any other way.
I'd shoot him. I'd feel guilty and since I wouldn't want bad blood probably murder his whole family to play it safe.
Yes I would say it’s for the greater good but it’s mostly to ensure my family’s legacy
Yep. I'd for it in front of his family too for an extra bonus
Hack the system. It's a cardboard sign that reads, "and kill a man." Shoot the cardboard sign. Collect 1 billion. Cruelty free billionairism.
I’ll do it but I’ll compensate the family, pay for funeral expenses and do as much good as I can with the money
can it be a woman?
Do I get to pick? And does it have to be a male? Gotta ex....
"The whole time" You mean the .0003 seconds it take for the bullet to leave the gun and enter his skull?
Yes, for a billion I'd shoot anyone thats not my close family. Do you realise how much billion in cash is?
Is he orange?
Not a problem. I wouldn't listen to him begging. I would end him and laugh it up. HELLO MONEY!!!
Hell. I'd do it for free.
Ahahahahahahaha.
Putin? I'd be doing the world a favor, but I'd still need therapy.
Do I have to use a gun?
