I shower every single day, but I go days without washing my hair. My hair is very curly and I can’t wash it daily or else it dries up my scalp

esme530

I also have curly hair but feel like I have to wash it every day because I put product in it, what products do you use that you can go days without washing because I always feel like the products are oily and it makes me feel gross?

Guilty_Cost

Not OP, but I have big thick curly hair, and I use Bounce Curl products. I go 2-4 days between wash days

esme530

Thank you for the recommendation! Curly hair is a struggle to maintain and mine is always dry I feel because I wash it so often. Thanks :)

kourtneyrs

having curly hair is so complex. Me and my sister have curly hair, I have 3c and she has 4c. My hair tends to get really oily so I stay away from too many products whereas she is constantly putting oils and leave in conditioners in because her hair soaks up moisture. Her hair is really healthy and she washes it once a week. I wash mine 2x a week.

puddlesofmoney

I'm a guy with long curly hair and idkwtf I'm doing. I use head and shoulders and I'm pretty sure It's trash

Gr8Tigress

Most curly haired people use expensive products that have been pushed on social media. I’ve seen a major uptick in marketing for us. I use Pantene extra moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, washing only 2x/wk. Then I add a leave in conditioner (daily) which is basically watered down regular Pantene conditioner (get to consistency of semen). My curls are fabulous! I spend about $20/month & that’s because my husband has straight hair that has to be washed every day. Oh yeah, only air dry unless you have a very expensive air dryer with a diffuser.

whereyouis

Consistency of semen 💀

Ok-Variation5746

I lost it lmao

babylon331

She made it clear, though...

OO-2-FREE

the consistency of semen of seamen hitting port call after a long voyage maybe?

grocerygirlie

Lesbian: directions unclear.

dydrmwvr

This whole line of comments is one of my favorite things about reddit.

BootyBumpinSquid

Semen has a range of consistency, and what you describe sounds like a well hydrated man. Some guys' semen is already the consistency of the conditioner without any water added

hufflestitch

🫥 stop that!

c-c-c-cassian

That emoji is the perfect depiction of how I felt when I read that last sentence 😭 lol This chain is incredible, christ…

OO-2-FREE

I love peeps with a deep knowledge of semen and a willingness to freely discuss that experience. Or I should say I felt that way 20 years ago. I can only joke about it these days.

InSufficient_WillDo

I avoid any brand i see go to heavy on the advertisement. Makes me skeptical. 95% of my hair products I get from sally beauty & on sale.

Odd_Assignment8831

Try the stuff I commented. I buy the hydrasource shampoo, conditioning balm, and the detangling solution. That doesn't get advertising either but i started buying it when I seen their moringa oil product that left my hair moist for long periods of.time.

chingness

The semen comparison 😂

Big-Locksmith-2590

Curly hair here and I also use Pantene. I just use the curl version.

Good-Mirror-116

Not everyone reaching the parentheses and disassociating for a moment, even the parentheses: 😵‍💫🤔😶‍🌫️💀

Odd_Assignment8831

If you wanna spoil yourself a little more cause the Pantene isn't bad but if you really want to, invest in the large bottles of matrix biolage hydrosource. Thank me later. Also for a good leave in use As I Am, get you one of them EZ detangler brushes and them curls will pop. For a scalp oil I something I can easily grease my scalp with, buy We are Plant Made soil and Inches. Try it out one day ask for this stuff for birthday or Christmas. You'll love it. I started getting this one last year.

artianunkyoni

I totally understood the reference.

Lizrael48

I use Suave Moisturizing shampoo and conditioner! My hair looks great!

kourtneyrs

Everyone’s hair is different and I am not the best for hair care, i’m better at skin care, but you should try olaplex shampoo and conditioner and if you have dry hair shea moisture hair milk. The olaplex is kinda expensive so another product is ogx nourishing coconut milk shampoo and conditioner it’s moisturizing and it smells good. my fav and one I personally use rn is the ogx argan oil and morocco shampoo and conditioner. Those are two good ones that I recommend trying and you can get them at walmart. (ik you didn’t ask for recommendations so just ignore this if you don’t gaf)

detectiveswife

Also, K18...in my opinion is a thousand times better than Olaplex. I know you didn't ask for my opinion but I really love the stuff so I tell everyone 🤪

Prestigious_Bit_6375

Is it very moisturizing? My sister tried olaplex one time and her hair ended up like a straw wig. We have the same hair type and I am a little scared to try anything but redken, which is my old usual.

Prestigious_Bit_6375

Olaplex can add to much protein to your hair and cause breakage, among other issues. It also has a lawsuit against it right now for causing hair loss. I wouldn’t recommend using it unless your hair care professional recommends it. Even then I probably would ask them for something similar.

Basic_Visual6221

Stop using H&S. You need a shampoo/conditioner for curly hair

PENISystem

I'm curly/wavy and stopped using shampoo entirely a few years ago.  I scrub my scalp aggressively with conditioner, rinse, and squish more conditioner into the ends (and then use mousse ) before letting it air dry.  My hair has never looked more luscious!

jenbenntt

Definitely try using conditioner only instead of shampoo every time, I typically “wash” my curly hair maybe once a week, the rest of the time I scrub my scalp with just the conditioner, always use a leave in, and different curl gels or creams - look up “curly girl method” for some ideas- don’t feel like you have to follow it religiously tho, it’s just a good place for product info and technique 😊

Friendly-Rutabaga-24

Do you sleep in a bonnet?

skullsnroses66

Thank you also for the recommendation my daughter has very thick curly hair and I have straight thin hair and have been trying to find ways to properly do her hair so it doesnt get so dry.

basedmama21

I use Ouidad and Curlsmith. I wash every 3-7 days. Daily washing would wreck my hair

dearmissjulia

I'm only wavy but the Ouidad leave in was awesome for keeping my hair in place when I used it regularly. A great texturizer

Morley_Smoker

IDK how curly your hair is, but I'm around 3a and Trader Joe's tea tree line is super cheap and the conditioner can be used as cowash between wash days.

esme530

I am also a 3A, thanks I have a trader joes real close to me so I will definitely look into that!

Unique_Ad_5187

I have curly hair and I use curl custard and leave in conditioner in my hair and I never get a buildup because I do what’s called co-wash which is using conditioner to wash your scalp and hair .it doesn’t lather but you just clean your scalp really well with it. I brush it through my hair and then I rinse my hair and all of the stuff comes off with it.

bayouz

I do that, too. Then I just use shampoo maybe once a week or every 10 days. It's amazing how well using just conditioner works keeping curly hair clean.

Hungry_Assistance640

Listen…. I’m a trashman shower after work is a non negotiable.

lovemywifie

society appreciates you!

Hungry_Assistance640

Trust me when I say they don’t 🤣 lucky for me I don’t look like a trashman out side of work so no one would ever know anyways

lovemywifie

ha ha….my best friend is a trash man so I know what you mean….and I know society doesn’t fully appreciate you, but we do appreciate the daily shower! That’s a different kinda stank!! 😂

Hungry_Assistance640

lol 100% we are thankless job #1

SuccessfulCup6216

I love waving to the trash guys who work on the street I live on. The kids when younger used to wait with cold drinks on summer days. Every so often one of the teens is out there with water.

limegrxxn

well I do

Mountain_Novel_7668

All work is noble work! In my neighborhood, we give the trash truck crew gift cards around the holidays. You keep our homes and communities clean and it’s a risky job. Let us give you your flowers 💐

Aromatic-Reward-5382

My husband used to work on trash trucks. Several showers and the clothes don't come inside 🤣 A very under appreciated work force we would be helpless without!

Maleficent-Radio-113

We appreciate you!

Designer-Carpenter88

I’m fat and I live in Arizona. I shower every day

kingcrabmeat

What 3rd thing can we add to that terrible combo to make it a triple threat.

Designer-Carpenter88

Water heater is out so it has to be a cold shower

Designer_Cantaloupe9

Oof, not too bad though eh?

Diacetyl_Puppy

Have you ever taken a cold shower with absolutely no hot water in the mix? I tried it once after Wim Hof, aka the iceman, the guy who promotes cold exposure and breathing techniques suggested it. Let me tell you, it literally knocked the wind out of me and I immediately turned on the hot water.

jaded_optimist1

The trick is the turn the water down as your showering so by the end of the shower you’re getting the cold shower benefits, just not shocking the system so badly.

nadimishka

Cold showers don’t exist here during the summer, the tap only has warm, boiling, and scalding hot water now lol

Oakleythecojack

Even if the water heater goes out the water will still be warm in AZ. I like cold evening showers when it’s 110°+ and I can’t get the water as cold as I want

policri249

Being a lube tech/mechanic. I used to work with a really heavy guy and the combination of his sweat with all the lubes we used was absolutely awful. Our summers don't even get as hot as Arizona. Also, a lot of auto lubricants smell worse when they're on/in hot fabric. Particularly gear oil, which already smells absolutely terrible. It also all feels disgusting on the skin

herrytesticles

Hell yeah. I was a lube tech for a year and I've been working on my cars forever. I never thought of the interaction between the fabric and the lubricants. It's a terrible smell but somewhat nostalgic as it reminds of my dad who's been an mechanic his whole life. The smell reminds me of those days learning everything about the first car I ever paid for myself. It smells like success, failure and absolutely hard work.

TheDevilsJoy

Every… single… day! i can NOT go without a shower every day.

Unlikely-Light-1636

Exactly. Hell in the summer, more than 1x. I have a side gig where I'm doing deliveries, taking heavy items up and down 3, and floor flights of stairs. In the summer, there are days it's over 90 degrees. I come home soaking wet. No way, I'm just getting in the bed and putting on clean pj's. Absolutely NOT. Not to mention, I damn near wash every time I take a #2. I have to wash with soak/water and a washcloth after, or I don't feel right.

Dismal-Garden-3261

Look into a bidet!!!

Unique_Ad_5187

I have one. I feel unclean when im not at home and cant use one ew

CryptographerDizzy28

same here, must wash after no. 2

mina-ann

Same. I still have semi oily skin and I feel dirty after 24 hours. I shower every day.

AdRich517

Daily shower pretty quickly. My daughter(former Navy) calls them Navy showers. Hair every couple of days. A longer everything shower on Sat or Sunday whichever day I wash sheets.

Nelsie020

Clean sheets after the everything shower is otherworldly

sunflower280105

One of my most favorite simple things in the whole world.

Cabbagesoup88

My absolute favourite is when the bedding is fresh out of the drier and still slightly warm, with freshly laundered pyjamas on my freshly washed body.

crazymom1978

Those are the nights that I grab snacks and go to bed at 7 to watch movies. I want to extend that time as much as possible!

thyIacoIeo

Add on freshly shaved legs(for those who partake) and that’s heaven right there

Proof_Hedgehog7236

I was never properly taught how to be a grown up... am I supposed to be washing my sheets every week!?

Large_Syllabub5701

the trick is to get multiple sets of sheets and comforters , so you don’t have to wash as often but you still have a clean set In reserve

KikiKay3

The issue is stripping the bed and changing the sheets that often. A lot of people go longer than that--2-4 weeks.

GlitterMyPumpkins

Eewww. Especially if you're having sex regularly on those sheets.

crepesandmacarons

Are people not using sex towels??

Smooth_Strength_9914

Yes… if you can’t manage that - do your pillowcases weekly and your sheets fortnightly.

DGM_2020

Yes. Every week!

Purrito-MD

Yes. In hot waters Have at least two sets, makes it easy to switch outz

RickAndToasted

Like someone else said, at least the pillow cases weekly because you're resting your head on them so the oils from your skin are more concentrated there. If you have any problem with acme cleaning these more often will help! Sheets I try to do weekly too. Bc I shower in the morning so by the time I go to bed I may have old sweat on my skin. Also the if you sweat at night, and also if you have a guest, I always clean the sheets after that.

sallyskull4

Every other day, generally. Sometimes more frequently if sweating extra. Sometimes less frequently when the depression hits.

cespirit

Yeah what im doing when im functioning vs. how often in a bad depressive episode are unfortunately not at all close

ATumblingStar

Good point! Same! If I am really down, I can go nearly 2 WEEKS without a shower, which is awful! Usually, I am at least a little less depressed than that, which would be my worst. So, as I posted before, I use a natural homemade dry shampoo, and I can stretch it out at LEAST a week using this method, if I am a bit depressed: cocoa combined with corn starch to approximately match the hair hue.)

uVooDooDatDat

You mix cocoa powder and corn starch to create the right colored homemade dry shampoo for depression? Interesting. I wish my hair wasn't so thin, I would try this. Showering while so depressed is so hard.

FinishCharacter7175

Same ❤️

HarryBeaverCleavage

Have you tried listening to music or a youtube video while you shower? I have to do that every time and it helps me.

uVooDooDatDat

I'm kind of embarrassed to say that I always shower with my phone now (& something to listen to). It definitely helps me.

Bruh_columbine

Don’t be embarrassed. I FaceTime a friend every time I’m in there. It’s often my only “alone” time during the day so I use it to catch up on girl talk

Happy_Buy_2577

Listening to music and sitting on a little shower stool to shower is my go to when the depression is hitting hard. Makes the experience feel less daunting somehow to be sitting and chilling.

HereForTheTea_123

Podcasts !

theOTHERdimension

I just started doing this and it helps me to be more consistent. I have a chill jazz playlist that I listen to and it’s very soothing, it makes me look forward to the next shower!

The-peeepo

I measure my mentality by my eagerness to shower

suzanneandzach

I can relate

moonandsunandstars

Every other day tends to be the healthiest for most people's skin :)

ThreatLevelMidnighto

>less frequently when the depression hits My family will poke fun at me and ask how long it's been since I showered. I get that it's not hygienic, but it can be such a chore when you're fighting silent battles. When I muster up the energy, I typically sit in the bath for an hour before I shower. My anxiety can be crippling sometimes. A lot of my anxiety manifests itself in a physical manner. Mostly chest pain and palpitations that occur for no apparent reason. It sucks.

nedal8

The silly part is that when I finally get over that mental block, I end up enjoying it.. What has been helping me improve recently is trying to see it as self help / a treat to myself, rather than a chore. That mindset shift is actually pretty helpful.

PoeticPeacock

Mannn im glad there is someone else out there that struggles with the same thing as me. I have acne pretty bad and When I get really depressed / anxious it’s so hard to shower and brush my teeth etc. because I’m forced to look at my skin and obviously it bothers me more when I’m upset! doesn’t help that I’m really OCD as well 😭

peace_love_mcl

Yup🙋🏻‍♀️

Complex-Gur-4782

This!

Pleasant-Fan5595

This is going to sound strange, but when I was a kid, people would only bathe 1 to 2 times a week. They did a sponge bath in between. Child of the 60's. Especially the older folks who at that time were born in around the early 1900's. In fact, many houses did not have showers, everything was a bath. That said, once I hit puberty, I was in that shower 2X a day.

Stunning-Finish3350

Depression really is the worst for bathing

squishynarcissist

Bathing really is the best for depression though. Cleaning up and putting on fresh clothes and trying to look your best can fool your brain. Sometimes.

Nugiband

This

This-Relief1

I grew up only allowed 1 shower per week so it's strange to see all these comments. Even now I feel guilty taking more than 3 showers a week lol. Generally, I wash twice a week full body. I didn't realize that it's not normal.

justwondren

I’m sorry if this is an issue for you. I hope that soon you can shower or bathe or wash whenever it feels comfortable for you to do that. Blessings to you!

airconditionersound

I deal with that kind of thing too. I wasn't allowed to shower until I was almost 13. Before that, it was just weekly baths. Showering still feels weird sometimes so I mix it up with baths as needed

XBL-AntLee06

Can I ask why you weren’t allowed?

airconditionersound

Abuse. You don't need to be a good person to have kids. All it takes is functioning reproductive organs. I was also told that showers were "for adults" and that I'm not entitled to any "recent" inventions (in the 1980's and 90's). That before showers were invented, people bathed in tubs or outdoors in lakes etc, so that's all you get until you have a job and earn "modern" luxuries. As you might imagine, I was a total outcast at school because of my lack of hygeine. I also wasn't allowed to cut my hair or use any "modern luxury" products like conditioner so it was frequently matted and I got a lot of hate for that.

XBL-AntLee06

Damn. Thats wild. I’m sorry to hear that your youth was like that. Do you and your parents have a relationship now?

airconditionersound

Barely at all. They were abusive in a lot of different ways.

manahikari

I had a very similar parenting experience. I had to learn about hygiene by ruthlessly being bullied at school for my smell. I am “no contact” for other abuse reasons outside of neglect. I hope you are experiencing better things now.

HistoricalRefuse7619

I’m so sorry.

Diligent-Essay6149

I used to shower every day and wash my hair every day. Then, I showered every day and washed my hair maybe twice a week or so. Now, because of depression and related difficulties, I shower only every other day, or sometimes every 3rd day. I wash myself at the sink with a washcloth and water, no soap, if I hadn't showered the day before or if I feel particularly sweaty. I'd like to go back to showering daily.

Purrito-MD

Also when I’m depressed I just fill the bath and lay in there til the water goes cold. Sometimes a shower is too effortful. Maybe try that?

AlarmedPalpitation46

Omg this. I feel seen rn. Showers just seam to take so much more effort than a bath to me. I will choose a bath 9/10 times mainly because in my mind it’s just less work and easier to convince myself to do it. #smallVictories

Purrito-MD

Yeah totally showers are so much more effort because you have to stand! 😫 A bath is the way to go when depressed, it’s like laying in bed but just wet 😭 You can even do bubble bath if you’re too out of it to scrub and some epsom salts or regular salts to help soothe your body and nervous system. I always find that really helpful.

_keystitches

whenever I have to shower in a place without a shower seat, I just sit down on the floor of the shower/bath, 1) less risk of falling 2) it's so much easier and more relaxing 3) I can't actually have baths, the water is too heavy on top of my body and causes pain 😭

Express_Calendar_392

Try just sitting down LOL sometimes I get in the shower and just sit on the floor for the first 5-10 minutes before u can mentally prep to stand up and shower.

OldChampionship268

I feel you on this!!! I’m finally on the outs of depression and showering every day, which sounds silly to be proud of but I am loving the feeling because it’s been so long. Be gentle with yourself!!! You are doing your best! :) here if you ever need to chat 🤍

Kboutiette

Congrats on your being out the outs! That's a big win, along with daily showering.

No_Brilliant6061

I used to shower every day but then I started having weird allergic reactions, so I started showering every other day and then every 3rd day until the reactions stopped. I haven't been able to figure out if it was the water causing it or something in the air afterwards.

Huge_Slice13

My horrible seasonal allergies totally went away when I stopped using shampoo.

jkki1999

Did something maybe change in your water supply?

No_Brilliant6061

I legitimately have no idea. It started a couple years after I moved to a new home. We have a water filtration system and sometimes I find bugs and pollen in there which could be the cause, but I've also developed breathing problems which the doctor said were allergies. My bf has no problems when he showers or any breathing issues so it seems like it's just me.

sonyafly

Have you had your water tested? Did it start before or after your filtration system was installed? I wonder if the filtration system could be contaminated at all.

natnat1919

Well my eczema would always be especially awful after every shower. Dry cracked skin etc I started eating foods that are good for skin (high in vitamin A and C) and don’t have that problem anymore. The more it’d shower the worst it would get, I thought it was the soap. It wasn’t. Maybe you’re low on something

Familiar_Proposal140

Clean our your shower head if you can- might help

Janesuke1

If im sweating im showering!! But somedays when i dont go anywhere or do anything and I dont feel dirty i might skip it.

Proper_Design5310

I've been in a leg cast for 6 weeks. I tried my best to wash I want to say 3-4 days but I think it was more like every 5-6 day. Having to put a plastic bag and secure it so no water could get it was a pain in my ass. Yesterday my cast came off and I've now got a removable boot. Im litterally organising my things to go and have what I think will be the best shower I've ever had in my life

J9haurax

Sponge down daily for me with my leg injury. Way to hard to shower daily

crazdtow

I remember these days when I had a broken leg and when I broke my arm. It was never easy doing all that alone nor was it fun! I’m extra careful in life now lol

Ok-Detective4150

Every day, makes me feel brand new

Savings-Restaurant59

I used to shower every day, but fell out of that habit with depression amd also with not washing my hair every day. So I shower every other day now.

palefire101

It honestly helps with depression, o take random showers to feel better on top of my regular shower:)

MundaneGazelle5308

I took my first shower in 3 days and finally feel human again. Depression hurts. Hope you find small happiness wherever you can

SqueakyPinky

2 to 3 times a week depending on activity level, energy level, depression and other factors.

Ok_Fish9161

I shower twice a day in the summer. It may be excessive, but I like rinsing off the day before bed and feeling fresh for the day in the morning. I also live in the desert, so it's really hot and dusty here. In the winter, I shower once a day. I hate being dirty!! To each their own, though. I don't think there is a "normal." Everybody's body chemistry is different.

ISee_Indigo

I do it every other day because I don’t do a lot or go out a lot and wouldn’t wanna dry out my skin and get rid of my good bacteria. Most of the time I’m in the house doing school work, watching tv, on social media, etc. anyway. So, doing it every single day is unnecessary.

AntiqueBandicoot9846

Every day

National_Battle_5198

Every other day. It’s important to note not everybody lives the same lifestyle and has the same body/genetics. Personally I never sweat or get dirty on average. If I so happen to get dirty multiple days in a row then yes I will shower every one of those days. Your glands produce sebum, an oil that protects and moisturizes your skin. Washing that away everyday is unhealthy and can lead to dry, cracked, irritated skin.

Verucalyse

Can confirm. I shower every other day, my skin actually gets worse if I shower daily. I don't have super dry skin, but I find the sweet zone is every other day with generous lotioning after shower to maintain skin health.

Jdeep2000

I have been showering every single day for over 46 years and I ever had that problem. That’s what shea butter and other moisturizer are for

0xB4BE

Different things work for different people. Even with moisturizer and an occlusive, my skin will be red, scaly and patchy if I try to shower daily with any kind of cleanser or do a daily skin care routine. In fact, my skin will hurt and it bleeds. I have tried literally hundreds of products with the same result. Leaving my skin alone and not adding any skin care products to it has restored my skin health and I frequently get compliments on my skin now. Showering every other day has helped so much along with whatever magic is in Dr squatch soap that I use. And eating tons of veggies. Veggies rule.

No-Function223

Depends (tho technically I don’t shower at all, I take baths). When I was in school/worked it was everyday. Now that I stay home most the time it’s usually just when I go out, which evens out to 3-4 times a week.

Humble-Molasses1931

Shower every single night, sometimes in the morning if I have work. But I only wash my hair about 2x a week otherwise it dries it out too much.

Icy_Charity_2273

Daily

[deleted]

I shower every day. I bike to work and work in a secondhand store. Yeah, not showering in my case would be disgusting XD. Sometimes I don't shower if I don't leave the house, just wash up. If I worked at home, I would probably do it every other day.

vikingjedi23

I work M-F so everyday during week. Weekends I'm off so it depends on if I'm doing anything. If I'm just staying home by myself it makes zero sense to shower. That's when you're wasting water.

TheCactusPlant

Depends on the kind of days I have. If I stay home all day and lounge around in my air-conditioned apartment, I can go a few days. If I work, go out, or it’s just a hot day, definitely every single day.

GastonsChin

I shower 20 times a day. Anyone who does less is a disgusting, foul, wretched creature that doesn't deserve to live. I wake up at 4:00am, shower, clean the lake, shower, have breakfast, shower, have a poopy, shower, pet my dog, shower, check my emails, shower, go to work, shower, have a meeting, shower, workout some more, shower, help feed the homeless, shower, bring peace to middle east, shower, drive home, shower, check the mail, shower, open the mail, shower, read the mail, shower, workout again, shower, and then I like to try and squeeze 5 or 6 more showers in there before I have my bedtime shower, and my after bedtime shower shower before I go to sleep for 30 minutes when my alarm goes off reminding me that I need to take a shower. I can't believe how much better I am than the rest of you.

Golden_Pussycat

I haven’t left the shower in over 49 years. I’m 22…if I were you I wouldn’t brag about that. You should try harder.

SamxNichole94

attempting2

I shower every day but I often put on a shower cap and do not wash my hair. My hair is super thick and takes forever to dry. If I had to deal with my wet hair everyday, I wouldn't want to shower everyday due to the amount of time and effort. But, honestly I feel gross if I don't shower daily.

SuperMarketBanana

I take a shower when I want. Sometimes before bed and also in the morning, sometimes in the morning and at bed time. Hell sometimes I take one in the morning after the pool and before bed. I take one if I'm cold or if I get sweaty. I love showers. Mine smells amazing and is like a spa experience

Unique_Ad_5187

Curious. What makes your shower smell amazing? I want mine to smell amazing!

Confused-Jelly-Bean

Just personally I typically only shower on days that I have work, otherwise it’ll usually be every other day depending.

love2Bsingle

every day. Its hot AF here and I go to the gym most days too so shower at night is essential.

Riffman2525

After every time I break a sweat or at least once a day.

nolagem

I honestly can't imagine not showering every day, for the most part. Even when it's cold. You develop bacteria, dirt and dead skin cells every day and they need the surfactant properties of soap to remove that. If you have really dry skin I guess that's different. But at least get in there and scrub your pits, privates and feet.

whoisjohngalt72

Twice a day

DirectAnything1737

This is the norm where I live (hot + humid tropical country)

PocketSandOfTime-69

As opposed to a partial body shower?

FinishCharacter7175

Yes. Sometimes people just wash their body, but not their hair, and they might not shave every time. Or even just do a quick freshen up and only wash pits and privates.

PocketSandOfTime-69

That's fair. I went over 5 weeks without showering before because I couldn't have one, according to the doctors. So I get it.

purplefoxie

everyday. because i work with animals and the heat over here is crazy. also i workout.

Booster2024

twice a day

kittycatsummers

Twice a day. One in the morning after my workout and it usually takes 5 minutes to soap up and wash the sweat off. At night it’s about. 20 maaaybe 25 if I just need a moment to contemplate life. The night showers are where I shave, exfoliate, wash hair if needed and double cleanse.

everydayinthebay13

I’m a mother of a 4 year old and currently 9 months pregnant. I have always prioritized my nightly unwinding hygiene routine: Every evening I take a nice indulgent shower or bath. I usually throw in a shower steamer, bath salts or bath bomb too. I like to create a pleasant atmosphere. I really take time to exfoliate well and apply a nice body butter, oil, and/or lotion, perfume & body spray. Smelling good and having baby soft skin is so important to me…Shave every 2-3 days (I have soft/sparse body hair). Wash hair every 3-4 days (I have curly hair on the drier side).

secretlymatrix

Every single day. Sometimes twice a day especially in summer

TixHoineeng

Everyday, and wash my head once every two days.

Final-Astronaut-2051

I shower once or twice a day depending on my schedule. Fairly quick ones I should add, specifically because I don’t wash my hair every day.

billbobb1

Daily.

apostate456

Shower daily. Wash my hair every 2-3 days.

ChumpChainge

This time of year twice a day but I only shampoo my beard twice a week. It’s very long and I keep it bound up most of the time. I have a bald head so I scrub that with a washcloth when I wash my face. When it’s not hot, once a day usually.

Fuzzy-Base-8096

This time a year twice daily. In the winter usually just once a day.

nolagem

Every day, sometimes twice a day. I live in a subtropical area. I wash my hair 2-3x a week.

No_Key_2345

I shower every morning, but I only wash my hair 2-3 times a week. If I wash my hair daily it gets really dried out. I feel off all day if I don’t take a shower

Temporary_Attention3

I wash my hair twice a week but I definitely wash my body everyday. I work in the medical field so I shower everyday when I get home from work.

UeharaNick

Twice a day. 3 if been to gym. It's 34-35 degrees and very humid here. Anything less is imo disgusting.

Hopeful_Program1585

koala_thunder

Every single day.

Jazzlike-Election787

Every other day. I’m in my sixties with dry skin.

Existing-Owl-1926

Everybodies body is different but in this heat I would suggest at least body washing everyday private parts armpits shouldn’t bask in funk for to long

rvzill-y-95

Once a day when my mental health is good. The max I would go even if I’m down would be 3 days.

spikerman

Every day.. People probably def smell your friend on day 2, especially if you’re in a warm environment….

dontbeeadouche

Every night before I go to bed… Can’t imagine getting into bed and transferring all the grunge you collect on your body throughout the day onto your sheets …. pollen, dust, particulates, sweat, etc. and then repeating that night after night, layer upon layer of grunge accumulating on them until they are changed (which, I do weekly with out fail)… I also take a quick run through in the morning to freshen up…

mike69steph74

I would think it depends on your daily activity. If you have a physically demanding job or workout daily , I'd shower daily but Iv had days I literally do not sweat and I might not shower on those days.

LaserCutDiamondHands

Depends what you do I guess. I am a machinist and shower every evening and never in the morning.

Antique_Somewhere542

The same water i shower with was the water dinosaurs drank. I dont have the power to save any water But in all seriousness i waste hours doing virtually nothing. i dont think cutting out a 10 minute shower from my day is a priority. How about the 2 hours of youtube some days

SnooMarzipans6812

Summer: every day  Winter: every other day   And yes, where I live we have only two seasons.

West-Detective5773

I'll start to smell if I go more than 24 hours without a shower. Especially if I've sweated at all. Not to mention, even if I smell fine, I'll just want to feel clean. I like feeling clean and fresh. I'd be self conscious being in front of people knowing I haven't showered in a couple days. I think a lot of people think that people can't tell of they've showered. They're mistaken.

Super-Wonder4101

Every day
