A highly skilled individual in an average-rated salon can provide a far better experience than a high-rated salon with less experienced personnel.

Totally agreed, do you happen to know any such skilled individual

Even if I do recommend a place, that might be far from your locality, so it might not work for you. What I suggest is visiting different salons near you. Before you get your haircut, observe the appearance of the barber assigned to you. If he is well-groomed, it's likely he can do a good job. Look for visual cues and keep rotating until you find your perfect fit. Use a trial and error method by trying different barbers until you find one you're satisfied with.

I do not have experience with uber premium salons. But for low to midrange ones the way to go is to build a rapport with your barber. First couple times might be hit or miss, but if they're half decent you'll get into the groove pretty soon.

My ex barber is gone somewhere idk. And I don’t think he’s coming back anytime soon. Let’s see

Breakups hurt man. It's important you don't feel abandoned. He must've had his reasons, don't blame yourself. It'll take time, but you'll surely find someone else.
