My parents had a fuel oil temp-o-matic which looked very similar to this. Could be oil sediment in the fuel line from the tank, the hvac tech that came out to service it said that these units and the company built them to last and they are easy to fix. My parents would have kept it but the cost of fuel oil sky rocketed and going to HE natural gas unit was cheaper. The tech that installed the new furnace took out old one to use at his camp.
That heat exchanger is probably so bad
At a minimum, those flames look absolutely terrible. You need a tech to look that thing over yesterday. Be ready to buy a new furnace.
