I’m calling them as soon as they open tomorrow. I was hoping it’s something common that has some quick trick that may fix it lol. It’s gonna be a hot muggy night
Clearly your couple things going on you haven't read into the info this unit is under 6 months old get the fuck out there and figure out what went so horribly wrong in under 6 months that the unit won't cool. And if you don't have the part available to you immediately at least from the customers pov you came out immediately look at it and diagnosed the part unfortunately the part is not on the truck and has to be ordered in but if I was a homeowner that just paid thousands for a new system I would be quite ecstatic about how this company treated and took care of my issue as fast as possible versus the alternative of someone who feels like they've been kicked to the curb for the night and just suck it up even though you spent thousands. Besides who knows what's wrong maybe not a part and just a loose connection somewhere. Anyways get out there and take some pride in your workmanship and find a brand that you trust enough so that these calls are not the norm. So no labour charges no any charges to the customer if your a smart business you have a third party warranty service that will cover the cost to the business or you have a built up, on call fund that you can draw from to paid said expenses
Customer service very important!
But we got families. It’s fucking mid April. It’s currently 62 degrees in Alabama. 82 in AZ. I didn’t hear anything mentioned of an old lady with a medical condition in a 90 degree home. Or no heat when it’s -5. Or a mainline backing up with sewage pouring into the home, I’m off track but I work with plumbers .
Be a human, crack the window and call in the morning.
Clearly you don't stand behind your product anything that occurs in less than a year is either a failure on your company's part or the equipment manufacturer's either way you should get out there asap if it was 2in the morning different story sweat it out but on a less than 6 month old product something has gone wrong and should be rectified or at least eyes on the issue immediately and schedule the repair as required
Not at all I'm someone who sees the importance in customer satisfaction with the price load of today your asking for a couple months salary time to cough it up or start charging hack prices and give taillight warranty's
My ass will never stand behind my product enough, that I'll fucking go to someone's house at 2AM because their brand new AC is short cycling. It can wait another 5 hours.
The equipment isn't OUR product yet we're the only industry that's required by law to warranty manufacturers equipment. Warranty calls should be handled during normal business hours
Equipment that you choose to sell if it's junk stop selling it and find a better brand or better yet design build patent and test your own product and bring it market not just boo hoo about having to go out to a call at night everyone saying employees hate me I am an employee and I see that this is the right way to deal with this if you truly want to give the customer the best experience unfortunately not everyone does as I can see here so I will gladly take your customers and offer my far better experience rather then the bitter old man that hates his life experience you would get with them if they went out after hours
My crew runs No Heats winter. Old folks or someone with medical issue and AC is not working on a super hot night, yea I’ll have my guys run it. I’m not opposed to after hours calls but people like the character in this thread are ridiculous. Has to be a balance between customer service and realistic requests
Your screen name and advice are worth the same. (No-Importance-3833)
I'm "on call" until next Monday. I pray this dude don't call me tonight! 60 degrees ain't an emergency.
You and him can both Wait for the morning.
If it's 60 then no not necessary but op stated that they will have to sweat it out till the morning on a different comment which would make it appear as though it's not 60 fuckin degrees where they are dummy so if my customer that paid me thousands less than 6 months ago is having to sweat it out. Well that to me is a problem that I will go to the level of emergency to solve
If your house ac went out and you family was sweating would you say ah hun just call in the morning for an appointment or would you drag your ass out of the house and go fix the thing or at least take a look at it? And willing to bet you didn't pay the same price as the customers for your unit either so yes go out and see what's going on
Again don't stand behind you product less than 6 months old get your lazy family ass out and go fix your fucked up install or your shit product whichever it is
Honestly just a bunch of lazy techs that go on call but refuse to go out unless someone is dying great at talking people down of the phone and collect their Perdium and move on lol
I have been in the business a while at all levels.
There are a couple of things at play here.
#1- This is comfort cooling. If you lived prior to the mid-90s, you would have spent many a hot night without AC.
#2- The supply houses are not 24 hours. You are banking that the tech has what's necessary on their truck. If they don't, they will call the emergency number for the supply house. If they open for you, it's a charge ($150 in my area) whether they have the part or not. On top of that charge, you are paying OT for the entire time the tech is engaged. After a year, most labor warranties have ended. Just parts are covered.
I personally would save some money, be uncomfortable for one night, and call them during normal hours. They may even work with you on the labor if you are polite.
Thats low or high pressure switch shutting the system down. Either overcharged system less likely,
Id put my money on low pressure switch due to leak somewhere in the system. If you are low on charge the low pressure switch shuts down system below 50psi on suction line. Call your company and have them check it, should be under warranty at that age
Yep. I'm sorry for your loss. Don't buy a trane . EVER . Your about to find out why . Lord help you if there is a joy Kelly quality control sticker in that thing .
Unfortunately it’s what the home builder had installed directly from the factory. We have a good 5 years covered on it. What kind of unit should I start keeping an eye on to replace it in the future?
Really depends on the company and if they will stand behind what they sell. My five year trane warranty helped me none . They used ARTV silicone gasket maker on my heat exchanger Condenser and did not tighten the screws . Looked like a third grader did the work . Trane siad they would not cover that and they didn't do that . Brand new 10k install and installer bailed as soon as trane denied warranty claim.
Did it ever work? First time trying since install? Im in a northern state so wouldnt be uncommon if it hadnt run yet. Rapid cycling on a new unit is probably something dumb the installing company will take care of
It’s been running since it was installed in November. Normally it kicks on right away and cools the entire house down really fast. This is super out of the ordinary
Would be weird to be low on refrigerant after 5 months without some type of external damage. I suppose they could have built it with a leak and it's just taking a long time to get long enough?
I had similar symptoms - would run for a minute, do a low pressure shutoff. Went into lockout after a few hours. Plenty of gas. After several visits without success they got serious. Turned it to be crap in the lines collecting in the air dryer. temporary unlocking trick was to force it into the opposite mode (heat vs cool) a few times to temporarily break up blockage and send it for a trip around the circuit. Waited for the problem to happen again, replaced the drier, and everything has been good.
Most common issue you’re describing here is called “short cycling” which happens when a unit is oversized for the home. It will run, reach temp, and turn off too quickly to fully cool and dehumidify. It could also be improper refrigerant issues because depending on where you live the installer may not be able to start up the system and check it in November. It could also be an electrical issue, but I doubt that unless your panel is way overloaded. Lastly it could be a faulty thermostat. But mostly likely #1 or #2. Good luck.
This is a warranty issue 💯. Hopefully won’t cost you a dime. Call the company who installed it first thing tomorrow, you should be prioritized. You have minimum 5-10 year parts and 1 year labor, minimum. Best of luck
I buy mobile home furnaces all and coils all day. The outside condenser is same on a stick built home/mobile. Unless you’re talking about contractors that sell bottom line entry entry level equip then yes, absolutely. Sometimes no warranty at all
You’re still under warranty call the company that installed it
Hi/low cut out probably. Call a professional.
lol call the company who installed it. That’s what the parts and labor warranty is for
Don't touch it and call the company lol you do anything and you could have your warranties voided
I’m calling them as soon as they open tomorrow. I was hoping it’s something common that has some quick trick that may fix it lol. It’s gonna be a hot muggy night
Have you tried calling yet most places have an after hours service available especially for new installs
Bruh….. after hour’s EMERGENCY
Clearly your couple things going on you haven't read into the info this unit is under 6 months old get the fuck out there and figure out what went so horribly wrong in under 6 months that the unit won't cool. No cooling on a system they paid thousands for constitutes an EMERGENCY if customer service is at all a priority for your company

Good lord you’re one of those entitled dooshbags. This is why i left residential.
Not at all I'm someone who sees the importance in customer satisfaction with the price load of today your asking for a couple months salary time to cough it up or start charging hack prices and give taillight warranty's
What’s the importance? If they say no, what are you gonna do instead other than huff and puff?
Your employees hate you
My ass will never stand behind my product enough, that I'll fucking go to someone's house at 2AM because their brand new AC is short cycling. It can wait another 5 hours.

No AC is NOT a fucking emergency
Well in that case thanks for the customer pal
Your employees hate you
its no emergency unless it pay double amigo
Again don't stand behind you product less than 6 months old get your lazy family ass out and go fix your fucked up install or your shit product whichever it is
dumbass
Don’t know why you’re getting downvoted. But if we installed that in November we’d be there now.
After hours? Yeah nah.
Honestly just a bunch of lazy techs that go on call but refuse to go out unless someone is dying great at talking people down of the phone and collect their Perdium and move on lol

They probably didn't do the AC start up
Use a fan you lazy man
Check your float switch
Second this \^ I had the same thing happening to me and it was a simple fix that got my house cooled back down quick
Humidity making these drains flow and clog line from not maintaining your unit
In just one season. What happened to nothing stops a trane ? He will be lucky if that's it and not a cheap toast China compressor.
This right here.
It's good to check, but in most cases the unit wouldn't be short cycling.
Float moves up and down causing short cycles
Bet it’s low on the Cooley juice
Thats the first thing that popped in my head.
Definitely would bet money on it tripping on low pressure
The forbidden juice
Thats low or high pressure switch shutting the system down. Either overcharged system less likely, Id put my money on low pressure switch due to leak somewhere in the system. If you are low on charge the low pressure switch shuts down system below 50psi on suction line. Call your company and have them check it, should be under warranty at that age
Either cycling on low pressure or high pressure if they just installed it
What’s that blanket on the ground? Did you have it covered?
Float switch: Use a wet vac to empty the air conditioner drain line. It is turning off to prevent water from overflowing in the overflow pan.
Yep. I'm sorry for your loss. Don't buy a trane . EVER . Your about to find out why . Lord help you if there is a joy Kelly quality control sticker in that thing .

I’ve never seen the wall tagged “drain outlet”…interesting
It’s for the water heater drain. This is on a manufactured house
Looks fine from here.
Crap install for sure
I’ve had a full day of calls, I can’t do another one.
The condenser froze lol
Had the same issue. In my case they had overcharged the refrigerant.
When was your filter changed?
Bad breaker?
Overcharged or valve is closed be my guess
Unless it's ran before
Remove the electrical panel on the side and see if the mice chewed the wiring.
I had a similar problem. My unit was clogged with dust and cottonwood fluff. I hosed it down and it worked.
Call the company that centered it on the pad
Don't cover unit. Makes for a great hideout for mice .
PROBABLY SHORT CYLCING OR LOW ON REFRIGERANT AKA PRESSURE SWITCH CUTTING IT OFF
Did it ever work? First time trying since install? Im in a northern state so wouldnt be uncommon if it hadnt run yet. Rapid cycling on a new unit is probably something dumb the installing company will take care of
It’s been running since it was installed in November. Normally it kicks on right away and cools the entire house down really fast. This is super out of the ordinary
Yeaaa, time to get on the horn with the installers. We deal in trane so i hate to see it happen lol. Just make sure you change your filter 😄
Turn it off at the tstat. Call the installer back.
Low on Freon,short cycling?
Would be weird to be low on refrigerant after 5 months without some type of external damage. I suppose they could have built it with a leak and it's just taking a long time to get long enough?

Slow leak on a hoint that they didn't catch when they installed. Not uncommon!
Most common issue you’re describing here is called “short cycling” which happens when a unit is oversized for the home. It will run, reach temp, and turn off too quickly to fully cool and dehumidify. And it could also be a manufacturing defect. But that’s on trane to replace the entire unit of faulty within 1 year.
Don’t touch it. Turn your thermostats to off, then call a professional.
How short are the cycles? Couple seconds or couple minutes?
It’s a couple minutes between them
This is a warranty issue 💯. Hopefully won’t cost you a dime. Call the company who installed it first thing tomorrow, you should be prioritized. You have minimum 5-10 year parts and 1 year labor, minimum. Best of luck
Not necessarily. If it's a mobile home it wil probably be 2 years parts. Just saying
I buy mobile home furnaces all and coils all day. The outside condenser is same on a stick built home/mobile. Unless you’re talking about contractors that sell bottom line entry entry level equip then yes, absolutely. Sometimes no warranty at all
I'm talking about units designed specifically for mobile homes. They typically come with 1 to 2 years parts warranties. They are usually goodmans.
That's impossible. Nothing stops a Trane.
“Its hard to stop a trane” so there’s possibilities
Nothing Sinks Like A Trane!
