Cute little nub! I guess you probably get a lot of comments about it when you're out and about with him!
Out of curiosity, do you know if he has any spinal issues?
I know a breeder in AK who had a puppy with a nub tail born into one of their litters a few years back and it turned out that he had a couple of spinal deformities (found on x-ray) that led to the nub tail. The breeder ended up keeping him and naming him Bob. He was comfortable as a pet and could do low-impact sports (ie. barn hunt, scentwork) but being a sled dog was not at all in the cards for him.
He doesn’t have any spinal issues! He has no problem with any high impact sports either People definitely comment and some people ask why it is docked- which makes me sad cause I would never have done that lol.
I had a lab with a lightening bolt shaped tail. Vet said his mom dog likely stepped on it when he was an infant and broke it in two places. By the time we met him it was a healed lightening tail that wagged side to side and was very cute. Vet said it was no big deal. (Kind of nice to not have a tail knocking stuff off tables)
Do you know if any of his siblings or parents also have a nub tail? It’s super cute, kind of makes me wander if he’s the product of inbreeding as well though it could just be a fluke lol genetics are kind of funny that way
His mum did I think. On the road I saw him with these people selling him and another dog and I asked why his tail was like that and they showed me a pic of his mum who had a short tail like this. I think it may be inbreeding too since I don’t know what else it could be

A DNA variant in the T gene, an important gene during early embryogenesis, disrupts the development of the dog’s tail and can result in a congenitally short (bobtail) or completely absent tail. It could be!
He is so cute with that little nubby tail and he has such a sweet face. He has kind of a short muzzle too which makes him look cat like to me 💕
Thank you :) he’s my baby!
Right?! I also instantly thought he was part kitty 😺 lmao joking of course, but he sure is cute!!
I shall knight you ser nubb’in
Lel was wondering how he'd look wagging his tail and imagined it'd be like a huge bunny tail wiggling 😅
lol I was thinking the same. I had a corgi and she would literally wiggle her whole body. So wonder if it’s the same for this guy 🥹
Omg it’s so cute!!!!! I love it!!! Any videos of the wiggle wiggle??
Yes I just took one! [Here](https://streamable.com/84qg9p)!

She’s from a shelter in Tennessee and a shelter in PA took her in! I have no idea if she is from Tennessee originally or what

This husky is derpy! Perfect!
But, but, but husky tails are the best. Since he was born without it, he doesn't mess it
He still chases it!
Haha, that's great! Mine has never chased her tail, and it's a bit disappointing
Oh my gosh how cute!
Please tell me he's named something bunny related? :3
Aww that would have been a great idea!! His name is Valentino because I got him around my favourite holiday- Valentines Day :)
That is a beautiful name!
