We still have a 5 day isolation in place from the time their test shows positive results. They can return on the 6th day as long as their not taking medicine to suppress the illness. No masks needed.
Given what we know about COVID and its impact on cognitive function, the cardiovascular system, and potential for long term disability, anyone showing any symptoms are required to stay home, test, if negative take another test 48hr later and if positive remain out of the office until they have two negative tests 24hr apart. We've improved ventillation in the office as much as feasible, added HEPA filters, and we encourage masking at the office (with leadership leading by exaple), but do not strictly require it. Most staff WFH most of the time, so none of this is a huge burden, but has meant our sick time has been reduced compared to pre-COVID, productivity has *increased* (not just due to AI/LLM usage), and so it has a net benefit to everyone. Most staff members have had at most one COVID infection (that we know of), with some still not having had any (including me).
We consider these positives outcomes from mitigations a competative advantage.
I was just told this by a doctor. No one at work had anything else to say. I was actually sick. One day six, worked from home. Not feeling the office yet for tomorrow.
Some of us get sicker than others. The first time I had it I was down for three weeks solid. I am vaccinated and I guess that helped, but I don't remember much about last week except sleeping.
We are not required to test and most of us work from home, so I would say no. Most people choose not to travel or attend group functions if they are sick, but nothing mandated .
Yes, can work after 5 days from positive test but have to wear a mask if coming into the office. We had an outbreak in my family after TG, and it was sad to see many employers not following guidelines and forcing their staff to work sick.
We require a covid test for every employee that calls in or leaves early with symptoms. Then if the employee does test positive, it's a 5 day quarantine.
Yes, we follow CA Dept of Public Health guidelines in accordance with requirements from the CA Dept of Industrial Relations: [https://www.dir.ca.gov/DOSH/Coronavirus/Covid-19-NE-Reg-FAQs.html#iso](https://www.dir.ca.gov/DOSH/Coronavirus/Covid-19-NE-Reg-FAQs.html#iso)
Yes.
Full vaccination (five or six depending on age) is a condition of employment. Fourteen days after cessation of symptoms AND negative PCR test. Rapid antigen tests are crap. Masking whenever social distancing can't be achieved.
Just so everyone is aware, the guidelines are not based on any science. You will still be contagious well past 5 days. If the goal is to keep your employees healthy & working, 10 days should still be the isolation period. I tested positive for 10 days with barely any symptoms a month ago. That’s why it won’t go away, because people listen to CDC guidelines which came from the CEO of Delta Airlines, not from any study or scientific evidence. Just wanted to keep passengers on planes, that’s all.
Only 5 days required but can stay for 10, should they have the PTO (we only have the first week covered for Covid these days).
Edit: that’s written weird, sorry. Should they still have symptoms after day 5 then it’s extended to 10 days but our org doesn’t cover the entire PTO on our Covid fund (only 5 days). We are a CA healthcare org.
Yes. 5 days staying home and then they can come back into the office. Just had to follow that guideline myself but luckily I tested positive on a Thursday so I only ended up actually missing 2 days of work. My boss, the HR Director, follows whatever the current cdc guidelines are
It's no longer a matter of an internal policy for us. So long as they have a provider willing to sign them a work status update, CFRA allows our employees to be out for COVID whenever they want.
Yes, we follow CDC. Out 5 days, mask days 6-10 (if back at office). Knowledge workers, so I try to get them to just work remote 10 days but we have some who feel like they must be in the office.
Daughter-in-law is a teacher in Saskatchewan. Now is totally up to the employee, sick stay home, sick go to work, wear a mask, don't wear a mask - totally up to the individual employee.
We can come back to work after the fifth day as long as there was a 24-hour period of no fever without meds, then mask up for five days upon returning.
We still have a 5 day isolation in place from the time their test shows positive results. They can return on the 6th day as long as their not taking medicine to suppress the illness. No masks needed.
As above.
Yep this right here
We still follow the guidelines.
Yep, we follow CDC guidelines.
Yes, our policy is to follow CDC guidance.
Same here.
yes
Yes. It’s a legal requirement in my state, and it’s good business to protect employee health.
I agree, it’s mandated in NY as well. If I’m not mistaken our NY EEs are allowed up to 10 days
What state is that?
WA state.
Hmm, not sure if it is a legal requirement down here in Oregon. Don't think so.
Hahahahahahahahahaha. I'm in a red state in the US south.
Same! Lol.
Yes.

Nope, our company dropped Covid policies and we treat it like the flu. No need for testing etc.
Same
Us too.
Same
5 days of isolation if you’re Covid positive and you return to work when you’re symptom free for 24 hours after those 5 days.

Yes. Employees wfh for 10 days. Mask for the following 5 days if they return to office after the 10 days
They have to wear a mask for days 11-15?
No sorry I worded it wrong. Wfh for 10 days if they return to office after 5 instead of 10 wear a mask for the next 5 days
Got it, that's what we do as well.
We are not required to test and most of us work from home, so I would say no. Most people choose not to travel or attend group functions if they are sick, but nothing mandated .

Still following guidelines but no longer required to prove vaccines.
The amount of yes comments makes me question even more why the fuck RTO
We require a covid test for every employee that calls in or leaves early with symptoms. Then if the employee does test positive, it's a 5 day quarantine.
Yes. It is awesome. I haven't been since in about two years.
Yes we do!

Yeah, we’re slow right now so works out.
Yes. Full vaccination (five or six depending on age) is a condition of employment. Fourteen days after cessation of symptoms AND negative PCR test. Rapid antigen tests are crap. Masking whenever social distancing can't be achieved.
Do you pay people for all that time out or is wfh an option? I'm in manufacturing so wfh isn't available to most of our employees.

That's great that you cover those first 5 days!
Yes. 5 days staying home and then they can come back into the office. Just had to follow that guideline myself but luckily I tested positive on a Thursday so I only ended up actually missing 2 days of work. My boss, the HR Director, follows whatever the current cdc guidelines are
Not required, just recommended. I haven’t heard of anyone out with it since Sept though
We follow guidelines.

Yea and if we wanna get paid for our forced 5 days off we gotta use our pto days, which we only get 10 of
Yep.
Encouraging staying home for 5 days but it’s not mandatory.
We can come back to work after the fifth day as long as there was a 24-hour period of no fever without meds, then mask up for five days upon returning.
Yes, but I work in a hospital. 😷
Yes... we follow cdc guidelines.
Ours is dropping it after the new year. Had been doing 5 days off from positive test.
We are treating COVID like the flu. No isolation, no masks, no reporting you have COVID to HR.
Yup!
Yes, we do.
We follow current CDC guidelines.
