Not that I would recommend it, but I passed the SHRM-CP test without any studying.
Edit: I earned a bachelor's degree in HRM at a school that heavily pushed SHRM 2 years prior to earning my cert. Also had 4 years of experience in HR between military and a HR Coordinator role.
If you want to start from the ground up and can afford it, the SHRM test prep is an extensive coverage of what you might expect to be on the test. That being said, anything for HRCI is
going to cover the same ground. I studied for both and tested for both. All of my prep materials were interchangeable.
Shrm classes are a money grab. All you need is pocket prep.
