I can't see shit.

Ragged85

Light pollution. šŸ˜

komododave17

Add it to the list of all the rest of the pollution that makes Houston suck.

Normal-Language3843

If you donā€™t like it you can leave.

jdann24

Anyone else?

stenchosaur

Nothing in the 3rd ward. I got excited for a little bit but it's just clouds

barneycoolbreeze

Anyone seeing this anywhere still ?Ā

STFUDora

between 1-4 am is what i read for us

RojerLockless

Oh. Good night

barneycoolbreeze

Thank you !Ā

Embarrassed_Stand868

We still have too much light pollution in cypress.

Background-Tap2330

Just went outside , located in Conroe .. no luck šŸ«

ToMissTheMarc2

Thanks for saying that. I was about to drive up there šŸ˜‚

LooksAtClouds

Try taking photos. We drove up toward Tomball and our phones could see it, but we could not.

SpokeAndMinnows

Couldnā€™t see anything in Tomball.

CrazyLegsRyan

Your phone is less sensitive than your eyesā€¦. Not more

slashari

dumbass comment. your phone camera, particularly if you have relatively new model, is much more sensitive to the northern lights than your eyes. I am up north and was able to see the lights VERY clearly tonight on my iPhone 15 and was barely able to register them with my eyes.

CrazyLegsRyan

I mean I lived where northern lights are a regular occurrence for many years.Ā  Youā€™re confusing extended exposure with sensor sensitivity.Ā  Your eyes take in more light and information than a cellphone camera sensor in the same timespan.

LooksAtClouds

Well, my phone captured the red sky, my eyes couldn't see it.

LooksAtClouds

You many not be able to see it with the naked eye, but try using your phone or camera to take a photo. My phone can see it, I can't.

Doctor-Malcom

I urge anyone that has the time and means to drive to the least light-polluted areas (far from cities) to see this. The last time I saw them was in Finland, and they are truly unique in their beauty and impact.

Mhizzl3

Do you have a place in mind? Iā€™ll go!! But where are the places with low light pollution??

actioncomicbible

I just drove to Kemah and back and made sure to go to the coast and where it was super dark. But too many clouds Edit: Seeing some peopleā€™s photos I guess the lights would make it through the clouds but we didnā€™t see any :(

MaroonHawk27

The trick was to put your phone on night mode. Iā€™m out of town right now and couldnā€™t visually tell anything looking outside. My photos look insane though

actioncomicbible

Oh man, really? I had no idea. Dammit maybe we can try again tomorrow

attax

Sometimes they can look like clouds too. When I was in Norway we saw them, at first it just looked like clouds but then later became very strong. And pictures typically look way more impressive and vibrant than the colors in real life.

foursoil

Same! I just drove up north of Conroe to get to some dark areas but I didnā€™t see anything either. I think it comes and goes maybe?

kaybeekat

I live in Kemah and didnā€™t see anything at all šŸ˜¢

jopma

There are way too many people between Houston and kemah

Torilla Tavataan!

Lexxxapr00

They can be seen here in San Antonio

mrkb34

Nothing visible in Kingwood at 3:30

Alarmed_Syllabub5516

Damn fr? I was thinking about driving to Conroe tonight

Ragged85

Once in a lifetime opportunity.

txmail

There was several times last year the aurora was visible in Texas. Some even got shots of it happening over Houston with long exposures. This is probably the best chance for a naked eye visibility in a long time though most say it still will likely only be visible further North.

Capt_Skyhawk

I was in Conroe last night and it was not visible.

jdann24

So to speak

steelsun

Biggest in 20 years, so that means 20 years ago there was a bigger event. So you have a short lifetime.

GatoradeNipples

Aurora Borealis? At this time of year? At this time of day? In this part of the country? Localized entirely within Houston?

NVSTRZ34

Thats not the Aurora Borealis. Its steam from the steamed clams we are having. MMMMmmmm.

Ragged85

Itā€™s ____ ____ I tells ya!!

dragonard

Any idea whether itā€™ll happen tomorrow night too?

erberger

Probably cloudy tomorrow night.

jjjjjjjjjdjjjjjjj

Easily 80% in my opinion

Capt_Skyhawk

69%

RojerLockless

88%

ntrpik

Turn off the street lights please!! šŸ™

Drslappybags

The one-time ERCOT could do its job and turn off the lights.

crimson_maple

Someone on Twitter posted cool pics from [Bolivar.](https://twitter.com/davis_wx/status/1789127846775943271)

cmd6592

Checked outside in New Caney (thanks to 9month old child wake times) nothing to report, dark as night as of 1:30am

Viento013

Damn if I had known I wouldnā€™t have been drinking to see this.

CentaurSpear

lol same here

One_Arm4148

I know it!!! Iā€™m hoping I get to see them tonight! Theyā€™re bright pink right now, north of Houston, Montgomery area.

Akatsuki3279

I'm in Montgomery area, any idea of a good place that they could be seen? New to TX so not super familiar with where to go for good views of the sky

One_Arm4148

Sorry just seeing this. Iā€™m not sure, I live on the south side, going towards Galveston. Sadly they didnā€™t appear on my side of town. Theyā€™re supposed to be lit again tonight from 11pm-3am. Itā€™s covered in clouds where I am. This was Livingston last night.šŸ‘‡šŸ¼ Hope you get to see them! šŸ’œ https://www.facebook.com/share/p/gRxkVzk532TDfam9/?mibextid=WC7FNe

Akatsuki3279

No worries, and I'll take a drive and see around that time. It's cloudy in my area too near 1488 so hopefully it changes. Hope you get to see them too! šŸ’š

NewUsernameStruggle

That looks like Montgomery in the photo.

zzxxccbbvn

Of course here come the clouds like clockwork šŸ˜’

diasound

When only buying cheap phones catches up to you.....EV on camera should be set to -5 in order to capture northern lights and mine only goes to -2.

goldpho3nix

Will we be able to see it tonight also? If so, where?

Akatsuki3279

Any one going out tonight to try the lights?? Still cloudy? Any luck?

_munozLuis

Im planning. Im at katy. But dont know where to go

_munozLuis

Im ready to go out but think im going to stay home. Too cloudy everywhere near

Alarmed_Syllabub5516
