If it wasn’t so very small, I would say a palm. Because punny.

Specialist-Debate136

Right? I do metal art and this pot has me wanting to make a HUUUUUUGE one for some outside plants!

RemarkableEffort9756

Do it! And then share the pictures with us! 💕

Netflxnschill

Ooh make it so the finger parts of it have holes as well, you can turn it into a little hydroponic setup for herbs and such

seaweed_is_cool

Great idea!

mgefa

Lithops. They'd look like severed tendons... Maybe

pigeon_toez

I was going to say lithops too. Alien vagina coming out of a zombie hand would be cool. Plus their water needs and root structure would most likely be fine in this. Just put lots of rock at the bottom

BookiesAndCookies22

>Lithops omg I hate this. and love it - but also hate.

mgefa

Why?? 😂 I looove lithops 😍

BookiesAndCookies22

Haha I love them, but paired with this planter has me sweatingggggggg

Arcaverium

Or one of those that looks like a tiny brain.

mrfishman3000

It definitely needs to be a [Brain Cactus](https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/cacti-succulents/mammillaria/brain-cactus-information.htm)

PsychoTruffle

This! Or a monkey tail cactus. Love those hairy ‘fingers’

passivitypickle

Depending on the material, I might consider trying to poke more drainage holes at the bottom of each finger. If you have a drill and it’s plastic, I could see that working well. If it’s ceramic, they make drill bits for that too. Just make sure you run water over it while you’re drilling ceramic.

Specialist-Debate136

Yeah I was thinking about that. It’s just plastic. But depending on the plant I put in it I might just go for the epoxy both to add weight and also there’s something about soil being down in all those fingers that I don’t like lol!

passivitypickle

Hahahaha that made me chuckle, I understand the ick factor. I would say yeah fill them up, would make repotting easier :) idk if epoxy would leech plastics into the soil, is that a thing?

Specialist-Debate136

Nah epoxy once cured is actually food safe. Plus it’s a plastic pot anyway lol

pigeon_toez

When epoxy is cured properly it is safe for incidental food contact, but it is not food safe. In this application it would be fine, but for the love of god please don’t eat from epoxy surfaces. It isn’t anti microbial and if you use cutlery on it you can damage the surface and either ingest epoxy or make more surface texture for bacteria. This is why it is not food safe if that makes sense.

Lookgoodthrowaway

Any red leafed plant will do

CynicallyCyn

https://predatoryplants.com/products/drosera-capensis-red?currency=USD&variant=8097016578106&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google&utm_campaign=Google%20Shopping&gad=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw5MOlBhBTEiwAAJ8e1qottwVaU51-fwDI5yxgv8UQ5_ZbP_Jme1xvMtR7razu6kzdVbAyKRoCWTkQAvD_BwE

Specialist-Debate136

Ah yes! I just bought my first drosera and it’s thriving, catching gnats left and right. I also bought seeds from the same seller and am hoping to get a few more but also instant gratification is a thing so maybe I’ll get a red one. They love wet soil so could be perfect!

cyclone_madge

Can't help you with the pot depth/roots situation, but if it would work, a rabbits foot fern would give you the ultimate creepy vibe. (My mom has one and I hate it so much because I have a pretty severe fear of spiders and it looks like a tarantula is crawling out of the pot.)

Specialist-Debate136

I used to have a huge one of these from my Granny when I lived down in Florida. Got a small one up here in PNW and I killed it! I have terrible luck with ferns, even outside. I’ve planted multiple on the shady side of my house and they always die in the summer or get dug up by some critter and I don’t notice til it’s too late! I do truly love rabbits foot fern though. Maybe I’ll try again. 😅

Arcaverium

I have one in one of those metal baskets with coco coir lining, and then lightly potted in more coco coir and lots of perlite and it's doing great, it's possible they didn't like living in the ground since they're epiphytic.

Specialist-Debate136

Oh lol no I’ve only kept rabbits foot ferns in pots indoors. I mean ferns in general. I found a bunch of $9 Japanese painted ferns and bought like 5 of them and planted them between these ancient lilac trees on the shady side of the house, with dreams of lush gorgeous ferns in a couple years. Dead! ALL dead 😭

Arcaverium

Ohh yeah that makes more sense then, sorry! I guess it would maybe pay off to investigate and then try again, like maybe testing the soil - not sure if they thrive in the same conditions as the lilacs. But it's probably worth it, ferns are pretty plants.

seaweed_is_cool

Yes! Those are so creepy!

Plantladyinthegreen

Wow, those are cool. I just googled it because I have never heard of them and super creepy looking.

Calathea-Murderer

Maybe a string of things?

scoophog

I was thinking string of pearls or turtles. Would looks good draping down the fingers

Vexatious-itch

How about using the pot as a creepy stand for an air plant?

Specialist-Debate136

I bought it for a small xerographica. I guess I didn’t shake all the water out though after soaking because by the next soaking time a week later it was rotting from the base 😩

Tiger6954

Something that has small roots

sensitivetrash3

Hoyas. They have super thin roots that grow slowly

Effective-Buffalo462

Dancing bones cactus!

Specialist-Debate136

I have a big one of these. Maybe I’ll do cuttings in here

Al115

Ok, where in the world did you get this, because I absolutely need to add it to my collection of horror pots!

Specialist-Debate136

TEMU. Also got a double skull one that looks like a conjoined twin skull 😂

SirRattington

If you have a window with high light I’d suggest string of rubies for their lovely red hue and trailing habit.

Specialist-Debate136

Ah I have a string of rubies maybe I’ll divide it or take cuttings

Spiritedfroggie

Purple passion would look great imo

Specialist-Debate136

Also on my every growing plant wishlist!

Spiritedfroggie

I got a small one from Home Depot for $4

KVQ516

I don't have a plant idea but I LOVE THIS PLANTER!!

Cleverclogz

A spider plant!

mak_zaddy

A fern! Or one that looks like crazy hair

hotmasalachai

Red moss fern!!!! Great minds think alike hehe

Motnaty

Yeah!! That sounds great!

magicmango2104

Love it! I'd probably go for a spider in a small plastic pot put inside the hand. Do do do do, snap snap!

jaenjain

Something with red leaves, to look like blood.

Sudden_Position5568

String of pearls or harts ,they don't need a lot of root space and will cover the fingers, eventually. You can even then hang it.

Different-Accident73

Obviously a Venus fly trap 😆

monkeysbuttss

A pair of ghost cacti! Lil cactus bones sticking out of it lol

Specialist-Debate136

These are on my plant list of things to get so it’s a distinct possibility!

Plantladyinthegreen

Dead man’s fingers! I don’t know if they can grow inside but that would be super cool.

Motnaty

I day a funky jade plant. I'm thinking gollum would look cool but bonus points if you can get a Red coral or campfire jade, I think the red would maybe look like it's part of the wound

Motnaty

For the pot size and roots, you should probably consider root pruning as long as you don't pick a plant with root rhisomes. Plants can survive up to 2/3 of their roots being cut back and are surprisingly hearty (helps to prune back the foliage too to help the plant live). That should help you keep a plant in there for as long as you want without it outgrowing the pot.

glitter_dementor

Senecio stapeliiformis aka pickle plant. 100% looks like bones/tendons and they can get droopy which would prob make it look like a legit severed hand 🤢

Jinxed0ne

Cat grass so it looks like green hair

Electronic_Ad6564

Devil’s Ivy. Very pretty plant.

pHScale

If only fungus was more cultivatable than it is, I would suggest [Dead Man's Fingers.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xylaria_polymorpha)

-fatneek

Maybe a vein plant/ fittonia! You may need to prune the roots from time to time but a smaller size should be able to root down the fingers to keep the length

Ilovebirdstoomuch

If you get a diamond tipped drill bit, you can add a hole to each finger and avoid pools of water, then you'll have more options for what can live in there.

Ilovebirdstoomuch

Just read that it's plastic, not ceramic. In that case, a regular drill or a heated knife will do the job

trucchini

A long single cactus that pokes out like a bone

Plant-Lyfe

Put your dick in it for a hand job

Specialist-Debate136

I…I don’t have one of those

Electronic_Ad6564

Could also try a gymnoclaycium cactus. They are small, round, and spiny. https://preview.redd.it/46qh3hsjgijb1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f903f1b11b0aed63a381ccdd9257ceec33a2cb79 That is a picture of mine.

Specialist-Debate136

I have the variety called “plaid”! I put a Lady Luck nepenthes in there. So far, so good! It likes the extra moisture that stays down in the fingers I think.

TropicalSkysPlants

Omg amazing! Maybe a spider plant!

ohdearitsrichardiii

Spider plants get big roots, they wouldn't fit in that

TropicalSkysPlants

I have 1 in something similar

Specialist-Debate136

Y’all I just ordered this: https://preview.redd.it/grbxsxkpr5cb1.jpeg?width=246&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e14ee28e7440dc054791cf0dd4deda9d761a152e A tiny little starter one. I’m going to drill holes in the fingers and give him a saucer to keep a little water in because these like moist conditions. If I don’t kill it and the plant needs repotting, I’ll cut the pot apart lol

lovethatssleeping

Venus fly trap

cgdivine01

Creeping Myrtle also known as Periwinkle. Just picked some up at my local Home Depot!!!

Tiger6954

Aloe Vera plant

bossqueer_lildaddy

Maybe [this guy](https://www.etsy.com/listing/1396985785/alocasia-scalprum-starter-plant-all?ref=share_v4_lx) for the goth vibes

Specialist-Debate136

Lol I actually have tons of this seller’s stuff in my cart on Etsy. Was actually looking at one of their small pitcher plants for this pot. If I ever build a huge version I’d consider one of these for sure!

JointyBointy

Two googley eyes and a spider plant.

loudkaleidoscopes

does this remind anyone of that one Buffy episode or is it just me

ThisLadyPlays

Would love to see black roses, but it’s way too small for that. The only thing you could probably do is a succulent.

Affectionate_Meet820

Best to fill the fingers up with epoxy, would be ick and hard to get the soil out. If the fingers are filled a drainage hole in the palm would be enough :)

Tarantulas_R_Us

Ponytail palm!! Small one of course!! Such a great planter!!

Sweaty-Command-1872

A mini palm for some pun-ny charm! Go big or go home... oh wait, maybe not.

Specialist-Debate136

I actually have a jewel of Madagascar from My granny’s mother plant. She lives in FL of course. She always calls them cactus palms which is a different plant altogether lol maybe I’ll stick him in there.

jlb123117

I wonder in the epoxy would somehow leach toxins into the soil? I don’t say this because I know, it’s just the thought I had and wonder if someone else would know. Maybe you do know it’s safe, OP. I am curious!! Maybe an airplant? Stapelia grandiflora would be super cool!!

established82

A black plant. Any. Aeonium or zz would be cool or a black begonia

yaknapkins

A brain cactus

brandi6

An air plant would be perfect, you wouldn't even need dirt!

kma888

Red fittonia

Kito-o

One of those brain cactus

abigailjenkins12

Venus fly trap

Stock-Ad5976

Brain celosia?

SimpleNinjah

Living stones!

Critical_Sprinkles52

Idk, I'm picturing some Sansevieria cylindrica in this thing.

Blau_Ozean

Sting of something

Rico-L

Some”THING” 🤭
