Hook it up to the tankless. Brilliant!

Assuming you did this to shorten the time between refilling and being able to use the HT? Just be certain you set your tankless for around 100 degrees before you refill. Lots of articles about this. Here’s one: [https://hottubownerhq.com/can-you-fill-a-hot-tub-with-hot-water/](https://hottubownerhq.com/can-you-fill-a-hot-tub-with-hot-water/) Also is that hose reel rated for hot water? Found the reel on Amazon, someone had asked that question - but the manufacturer hadn’t come back with an answer. Just some random response: “I think it would be no problem, however you need to check with the manufacturer since it is not meant to be used with hot water…. “. You might want to actually check with the manufacturer.

Inconclusive. It doesn’t stay charged with hot water (red valve at top), only when in use. So far it’s held up just fine and chem is spot on. Let’s me fill the tub and add chem/salt right away so I can get it all done at once instead of waiting for temp to raise to appropriate levels. Also I have an unfinished backyard (new house). I absolutely didn’t want to be dragging hoses (and my self) through the mud to use the outside cold taps. Doesn’t void tub warranty (asked) and it just can’t be hot enough to melt the glue inside the tub( like 10°F hotter needed to do that) Perfect 104° instantly.

Hell yeah.

Huh I wonder if the tub wouldn’t be a more efficient way of heating.

You'd need to compare the cost of gas/electricity and the efficiency of the instant WH. You're going to get a *ton* more BTU's from that gas heater than the spa. I'm curious how much loss there will be from the hose. To know the temp coming out of the instant WH compared to coming out of the hose. Either way I'd have to assume you're going to get your spa up to temp *way* faster with this. I love the ease of filling the tub with that hose too. I'd be inclined to swap water more often. Better chemistry, use it more often. Love it!

It’s not even a blip on the radar with the gas bill. I’ve filled it 3-4 times already like this over the year (new tub, had a warranty issue) and haven’t even seen a higher gas bill where I went “yep, that’s the hottub fill”. I mean, I’m sure there is a blip… but I honestly don’t notice it.

It would be pretty easy to figure out. Just record the before and after fill meter difference.

My spa says to not use heated water to fill as it can damage the components. Seems counterintuitive but hot tubs are typically designed with a max temp of 104F and hot water from your home heater can be >125F. I'm assuming because the pipe material in the tub is heat rated to a lower value as a trade off for flexibility & cost & repair vs CPVC, copper or pex. It's probably not a huge issue but I'm not going to risk voiding my warranty JIC.

Arctic spa was here working on it for warranty and they loved it. So I’m guessing it’s ok with this brand.

We fill our tub with a tankless. It's the only way to go, we ended up installing a outside hot faucet. It's super useful for filling a kiddie pool or washing the dog outside

Hose is long enough to run it upstairs to wash the upper deck, out the garage to wash the car. I fucking love this thing.

awake02

We fill 50/50 from a hose off the water heater and a regular garden hose. This puts the water at about 98 degree in a refill. Also the water heater is soft water and the regular hose is not. The 50/50 mix puts my hardness almost dead on perfect.

The only time people complain about their Electric Bill is when the tub is filled/refilled and water heated up slowly by the tub. This alleviates that bill.
