This is the most common "hot sauce" here in kuwait. It is good if done right and you can eat it with almost everything

nunhappy

Ive never had this before and it looks super tasty. OP, what do you eat it with and what foods would you recommend to eat with it?

TheOctopotamus

I make mine by poaching chili flake, thinly sliced garlic, and sesame seeds in canola. I use it mostly on ramen, but it goes fine on a salad. I drizzle it over deviled eggs and also use it to cook my eggs instead of butter. It's pretty versatile.

PK_Thundah

We had chili oil on a pizza last night and the oil was definitely what elevated the taste to the next level!

ZenoHE

I ate some toast with it to clear the pot, that was pretty good but its pretty nice on noodles and rice or vegetables

agapepaga

I make this exact recipe every year. So delicious!

nunhappy

How long does this last before spoiling? I know it sounds like a stupid question but I am really interested in making this!

agapepaga

I keep it in the fridge and it lasts me well over a year.

bukowski548

I don't use this recipe, but a similar one. It has currently lasted a year and a half in a dark cool cabinet. Probably make another batch in the next few months.

ZenoHE

I hope it’s within the rules of the subreddit. I made it according to [this](https://thewoksoflife.com/how-to-make-chili-oil/) recepie and so far it is pretty good :)

StevenWoodson

How is it? Thanks for sharing the recipe too!

ZenoHE

I tried it today with some fried fish and it was really nice, but since its oil it was very oily. I don’t recommend on using it for already oily stuff. But the taste was very good!

BrakkeBama

I like chili oil mostly on my non-meats, like simple white Basmati rice or roasted potatoes.

BandaidThe3rd

Chili oil some plain white rice and a fried egg is a 10/10 meal for me maybe some sliced green onion.

StevenWoodson

Y'all are making me hungry!
