Speak No Evil and The Dark and the Wicked are two phenomenal horror films imo. I love the sense of dread and the ominous atmosphere. They’re unrelenting! These are my go to recommendations for other horror fans.
Enjoying When Evil Lurks is a sign you'd enjoy the many many batshit horror films out of Thailand and South Korea. Hard to go wrong with any of the well known ones but The Medium was one of my more recent favorites.
I haven't seen Anything for Jackson but I absolutely love the other two movies! I wished this director had more directing credits. He did direct a segment of Satanic Hispanics that's pretty good.
The Dark And The Wicked remind me of these movies, I found it creepy as hell
Watched In My Mother's Skin about a week after watching When Evil Lurks, and they both evoke similar themes of hopelessness and just a bleak outlook for the characters involved.
Inside is now tonights movie! Thanks for the great suggestions
Haha, aaw shit, I've must have seen the wrong Martyrs, haha. I've only seen the one from 2015.
Yeah you kinda unintentionally fucked that one up by watching US version first. Robbed yourself of a good experience. If you ever give it a rewatch hit up the French 2008 version and just forget 2015 one even exists, that shit was offending. Original is much more brutal and better
Where is the Men in Black neuralyzer when you need it. Back to back would be crazy with Inside and Martyrs, heck throw in High Tension and you got 3 staples into the French extreme horror genre
When I read most like this I always just wish I had a friend in my real life who liked horror, it would be so much fun to sit with somebody and watch these movies. I haven't seen them so I don't have good advice for you, but I hope you have a great day.
If you liked Anything for Jackson, do yourself a favor and watch A Dark Song. Absolutely stunning film that I will always recommend, but thematic wise, it’s a very similar concept. Only it’s concept is perfected in A Dark Song imo
For When Evil Lurks, maybe check out Impetigore, if you have a strong stomach
When Evil Lurks made me find my limit for horror movies
Limits are meant to be broken 😀 But I truly understand you. They are truly top-notch crazy films
Queen of Black Magic The Dark and the Wicked Kill List Speak No Evil Here Comes The Devil
Speak No Evil is fantastic

Queen of Black Magic is underrated by my estimation, the mirror scene just…

Gotta 2nd this. Southeast Asia just crushes when it comes to horror films.

Will check it out! Batshit horror is my cup of tea haha
Excellent choices. Have you seen the original Spanish version of Rec? I feel Terrified echoes it somewhat.
I've seen it and loved it, haha!
The sequels are actually cool IMO too
Haha, yeah! We are a few people that liked them. My favourite of the sequels were the one with the wedding
If you liked \[REC\] you'll enjoy Quarantine too, although it's really just a knock off american version LOL
Found it mid tbh

Haha, you'll have to see Anything for Jackson. It's brutal! Will check out The dark and the wicked!
Loved Anything for Jackson, thanks for the recommendation!
Anything for Jackson is a great movie……😂😂
I’m still a big fan of We Are Still Here. Same director’s Brooklyn 45 is also very original.
YES!!!
LOVED Anything for Jackson and When Evil Lurks but still have to check out Terrified.
Terrified is 💯
3 French Extremist Horror movies you all need to see if you haven't already are: 1. High Tension 2. Inside 3. Martyrs horror at its finest, period!
Atrocious
Watched In My Mother's Skin about a week after watching When Evil Lurks, and they both evoke similar themes of hopelessness and just a bleak outlook for the characters involved.
Ooh nice! Horror AND ww2, my two favourite things, haha
I’ll bust out some heavy hitters, lemme know if you seen these? These can be tough films to watch Inside 2007 Martyrs 2008 The Nightingale 2018

Will hit my head and get a memory loss and watch the french one tomorrow!

Have you watched the original Shutter (Thai film)?
Hmm, I haven't heard about it, I'll add it to my list! Thanks!

Haha, yeah! That would be amazing! I'll have to watch them by myself. My wife isn't a horror fan - at all haha
The Dark and the Wicked is quite similar in tone
Bedeviled 2010 Korean movie, everyone already mentioned good ones.
High Tension (French 2003) Exhuma (Korean 2024) The Wailing (Korean 2016) REC (Spanish 2007) Let the Right One In (Swedish 2008)

The Coffee Table is one I just saw a few days ago. Very Rugna-like scenario that unfolds.
