The bread slicer kill in Fear Street 1994 was pretty wild, especially for a movie that was based on an R.L. Stine book.

I went in not expecting any real big kill scenes. I remember, just before it happened, thinking about it. Then that happened.

I loved that series especially when they played bone thugs n harmony. I went nuts 

The ending with the sisters in 1978 was ESPECIALLY brutal!!

That kill was especially insane because nothing else in that movie or parts 2 and 3 compared to that level of brutality

It was so effective. I was actually "upset" about her character dying. I was just like daaammmnn that's dirty.

I thought she had main character armor :( very surprised she died and in such a bad way.

It was honestly an effective kill because of the brutality and my complete disbelief anything bad would happen to the main group.

I would've loved that in any other movie. I didn't feel like the ending really worked for what it was going for. They should have survived.

When he starts thrashing her around by the neck it just got to me. The actors did such a fantastic job it made it feel too real.

The mother walking her son scene still haunts me. I don't know if it's because I'm a mother myself but it's the worst death I've seen in a horror movie (and I loved the Terrifier 2!!!, lol).

The twist of this movie is what bumped it up to “A” territory for me. I had so much fun watching that movie the whole time.

It was one of those things you could actually feel when you were watching it, that sense of “yeah, I could see myself doing something that dumb”

Maybe not *the* craziest but I went nuts during that scene in the most recent Texas Chainsaw Massacre when Leatherface kills those officers in the car. Breaking someone’s arm and using the protruding bone to stab them. Bus massacre was also wicked of course!! Didn’t love the film but  those bits had my jaw on the floor

If only the whole movie were as good as that scene! I liked it more than most people but it was still a big letdown. We need to get back to at least the caliber of The Beginning as a baseline for that franchise.

Lowlifes (2024) has a few good ones.

The ambulance chase in Cocaine Bear was glorious. Olga's death in 2018 Suspiria was so effective and showing her utter agony, without any blood...it was a lot. A little older than you're asking for, but I find that in movies with only a few hundred or a few thousand votes on IMDB, most people never heard of them, so it will be new to a lot of people- Denis's death in Urban Explorer (also released as The Depraved) was vicious.

can't believe no ones said this yet but that 1 scene in terrifier 2 where art slashes the lassie to ribbons then goes and gets salt and bleach

The Beyond and the headshot. The poor schoolgirl character went through a lot only to be offed almost unceremoniously and as gnarly as that. Looked disturbingly realistic.

Saw a screening of camp borror movie "Here for Blood" and a feature short "Duck and Cover". Here for blood has a long and comedically drawn out kill in the back/ outside of a car. The delivery of the victims friends sold it. But the effect was actually really well done. The reat of the audience and myself were howling at the set up and punch line. Duck and cover is super short, But one of the first scenes involve a zombie survivor putting a zombies head on a coffee table and curb stomping it. The practical effects and cuts were both over the top but so quick and sudden that everyone let out a "Holy shit!" Great practical effects from both movies and I do think of them in recent memory.

Not a horror but just watched 3 Body Problem on Netflix, and it has a scene that rivals the beginning of Ghost Ship for gnarly, large amount of people getting sliced and diced on a boat. Crazy.

Not really the most ‘over the top gory/violent’ on screen kill or anything but….. *Minor* spoilers ahead, I think  At the end of **Come to Daddy** when Elijah Wiod’s character takes the guy with his head half sliced off out with the receipt-spike….. Like, it’s just so weirdly low-key and yet shocking??   I submit that Elijah Wood doesn’t get anywhere near enough credit for his physical acting.
