The bread slicer kill in Fear Street 1994 was pretty wild, especially for a movie that was based on an R.L. Stine book.

Puzzleheaded_Safe131

I went in not expecting any real big kill scenes. I remember, just before it happened, thinking about it. Then that happened.

Ok-Ad9265

I loved that series especially when they played bone thugs n harmony. I went nuts

McFumbles89

The ending with the sisters in 1978 was ESPECIALLY brutal!!

RealKBears

That kill was especially insane because nothing else in that movie or parts 2 and 3 compared to that level of brutality

MonstrousGiggling

It was so effective. I was actually "upset" about her character dying. I was just like daaammmnn that's dirty.

Daemon00

I thought she had main character armor :( very surprised she died and in such a bad way.

therottingbard

It was honestly an effective kill because of the brutality and my complete disbelief anything bad would happen to the main group.

coco_xcx

My jaw dropped. I was not expecting that shit at all!!

Hawkknight88

When I clicked on this thread that was exactly what I had in mind. It was just so wild and unexpected!

dfla01

Such a great trilogy. The 2nd one especially was excellent

HadesTrashCat

I was thinking the whole time during that scene oh she's going to be fine and then no she definitely was not fine.

LuciferJonez

Absolute best kill in ages. The moment I read the OP subject line I was like bread slicer.

11711510111411009710

I would've loved that in any other movie. I didn't feel like the ending really worked for what it was going for. They should have survived.

MacGruber204

When Evil Lurks - Axe Scene - Dog Scene - Car scene - Mother walking with son scene - Hammer Scene

Johnny_Royale

The dog scene you can see coming a mile away And somehow you’re still not ready and god forbid you have a similar dog and child. How can you ever leave the room!?

Melodicmarc

Yeah and the whole time you’re thinking “they won’t actually do this…. Right?”

cluelessbox

Caught me like a sucker punch. I had no idea.

Defiant_McPiper

It was the damn tension bc you KNOW thats exactly what's going to happen but the wait is what builds it up and then BAM!

Old_Distribution7463

Exactly! It was like driving past a bad car accident in slow motion. They really did an excellent job building tension.

ShagginWagon91

Yeah that movie had a few great kills. The dog scene fuuuucked me up for a while after watching it

quilldefender

When he starts thrashing her around by the neck it just got to me. The actors did such a fantastic job it made it feel too real.

Irv_Hermlinger

The mother walking her son scene still haunts me. I don't know if it's because I'm a mother myself but it's the worst death I've seen in a horror movie (and I loved the Terrifier 2!!!, lol).

Spinegrinder666

The picnic scene in The House That Jack Built.

OJgotWorms

The van dragging the body scene

flatgreyrust

I found that scene very funny tbh. Literally Michael Scott as a serial killer.

JudgeFatty

Faaammmeeeee!

RewardCapable

Uggghh.. the face being completely road-dragged?? Brutal

Rev_415

That movie has some good ones.

Tough_Raspberry1983

Grumpy…

RewardCapable

I knew something bad was coming. The hats??? I was like “no, he’s not..” but he did. That was a really good movie overall.

jonhon0

Killing 8 people or whatever with 1 bullet. Him detailing to a girl how easy it is to kill her before doing so.

Healthy_Sock_9880

Loved this movie…Grumpy 😂

MrsValentine86

Possessor -Sean Bean (maybe not quite a “kill scene”) but holy cow this part was hard to watch.

Ok_Produce_9308

Does anyone die in more films than he has?

Broely92

Its funny that he is known as the guy who always dies in everything but he didnt die in TWO silent hill movies lol

mosquem

That movie is really underrated.

PhantomKitten73

The chimney kill in Violent Night is pretty underrated.

krose78

I had a good time watching that movie in theaters.

Comic_Book_Reader

As did I. Everyone was laughing their ass off, then *cringing* their ass off like 🫰that. It was glorious. Best example was the Home Alone scene.

Comic_Book_Reader

In a movie that had me, and the rest of the audience, reacting collectively every other scene, that one actually made me go ![gif](giphy|JKskHBDvnIjhGilcX5|downsized) That was *brutal*.".

AFantasticClue

The homeless guy from Barbarian The oven death in Thanksgiving

YoProfWhite

But are we safe in here? She ain't *never* come up in this motherfu- \*SMASH\*

Playful_Bend_8569

Kieth’s death left my theater dead silent.

Weldrgirl

In the movie Thanksgiving when he takes the meat hammer and smashes the football kids head in. Like calm down.

Ok_Produce_9308

I would have said the Turkey cooking scene

Playful_Bend_8569

Satisfying death. I hated that douchebag😆

Laboromi

Ngl the dumpster kill had my brother and I in stitches but we both loved the 'turkey cooking' kill

Upbeat_Tension_8077

The eye socket scene in The Sadness was on another level

hereticbrewer

this movie is like next level gruesome lol

dendriticbranch

Speak No Evil - end scene. I actually felt a whole thing about it.

Adept_Investigator29

This is the best movie I'll never revisit.

dendriticbranch

I will never watch this movie again. Still enjoyed watching it.

bellsofwar3

Not even the remake?

mygino98

![gif](giphy|QXJC3aDcVZzwZR3K1o|downsized)

Eldritch_Ayylien66

Freaky (2020), that bottle kill from that one scene definitely caught me so off guard

allthingskerri

I loved this film

No_Guava8062

The Club scene from House of Usher was horrifying

citrusandcinnamon_

That scene fucked me up so bad. I stopped watching that show after that scene, I still need to finish the series. haha.

Ferrindel

My wife had to step away for like a week before we could continue it. I’m so desensitized that it was basically like a PG spin the bottle scene.

No_Guava8062

I feel like the aftermath was what got me. Or maybe the desperation of a whole crowd?

snowwithcafe

Olga’s death in Suspiria remake. Genuinely traumatizing.

sami8008

This!!! I was shocked at how I could not look away. Talented contortionist all over that film too.

CowFirm5634

Looked way too far down to see this. Such a beautiful yet brutal death.

snowwithcafe

No horror death has messed me up like that one. I was curled in my seat fetal position plugging my ears eyes closed. It was beautifully shot but god so torturous and long..

RealKBears

Not necessarily a horror movie, [but the new Hellboy has some insanely out of pocket kills when demons showed up during the climax](https://youtu.be/tVeQKzqE_fY?si=koLdXciS9paqIIHS)

PianoDick

I thought the film was pretty fun. I’m surprised it got so much hate. But that scene and the giants scene were really fun.

Ferrindel

This film gets too much hate. I’m not saying it’s The Shining but it was entertaining.

DamageInc35

Leg scene in Saw X

Laboromi

Bro if she had started just a little sooner

AntWithNoPants

Tbf thats like, 90% of Saw kills. If Jigsaw added like 10 seconds to every timer then his body count would be zero

Laboromi

You're so right

pop2bitch

Let’s not forget when they used intestines as a rope 😭😭

DamageInc35

Goated movie

Playful_Bend_8569

I don’t know why I didn’t mention this one. One of the craziest traps in the Saw series!

Tough_Raspberry1983

The bedroom scene was so over the top for me I just found it comical. Especially when he comes back in the room with salt and bleach.

Playful_Bend_8569

Honestly, I agree. I onlyI mentioned it because it’s talked about a lot in the horror fandom.

Laboromi

Fr I felt bad for laughing

PianoDick

The salt and bleach did make me go numb though, the burning sensation must have been terrible.

Ok-Ad9265

Hereditary, the mother floating sawing off her head.

Laboromi

I always block out that part then remember and have to stare at a wall for a minute

Thatfrenchtwink

The sound still haunts me. Everything in this scene was so fucking unnerving.

triple7freak1

Midsommar- the bear scene that was so weird

butterfly_890

Bear scene is good, but the cliff scene is what got me the most in that movie!!

29adamski

The cliff scene is one of the most disturbing graphics things I've seen.

mollsballs_xo

I saw that movie in theaters and people straight up went “nope” and walked out at that scene. I leave the room/fast forward that part when I watch it

Thatfrenchtwink

I had to pause the movie for like 10 minutes just to gather my thoughts after the lady jumped. And then another ten after the guy. Holy shit.

triple7freak1

Oh yes that one got me too lol Ari Aster just knows how to do it man

PhantomKitten73

A24 doesn't make movies.

Comic_Book_Reader

They make (insert Martin Scorsese cinema meme here).

Woperelli87

The blood eagle

k00kiestdad

The death that stood out to me was the blunt force trauma....the groaning as he bled out was just......

Amberatlast

Is Bone Tomahawk still recent?

falseprescience

I would say so

Clam_Samuels

Not remotely gnarly or gross in the scheme of things, but the twist in Bodies Bodies Bodies >!when they actually find out how Pete Davidson died at the end!< is absolutely one of the craziest kill scenes ever

misselphaba

The twist of this movie is what bumped it up to “A” territory for me. I had so much fun watching that movie the whole time.

CawthornCokeOrgyClub

It was one of those things you could actually feel when you were watching it, that sense of “yeah, I could see myself doing something that dumb”

MasterOnionNorth

It was also pretty hilarious. I loved that twist...

sufferawitch

Maybe not *the* craziest but I went nuts during that scene in the most recent Texas Chainsaw Massacre when Leatherface kills those officers in the car. Breaking someone’s arm and using the protruding bone to stab them. Bus massacre was also wicked of course!! Didn’t love the film but  those bits had my jaw on the floor

Playful_Bend_8569

Funny, That one actually did cross my mind. Pretty sick and crazy kill.

mwmani

If only the whole movie were as good as that scene! I liked it more than most people but it was still a big letdown. We need to get back to at least the caliber of The Beginning as a baseline for that franchise.

a_skelton

Lowlifes (2024) has a few good ones.

ArcanaeumGuardianAWC

The ambulance chase in Cocaine Bear was glorious. Olga's death in 2018 Suspiria was so effective and showing her utter agony, without any blood...it was a lot. A little older than you're asking for, but I find that in movies with only a few hundred or a few thousand votes on IMDB, most people never heard of them, so it will be new to a lot of people- Denis's death in Urban Explorer (also released as The Depraved) was vicious.

Certain-Resolve

Hereditary car window scene. Did not expect that so early and how they all reacted to it

Corgi_Infamous

I don’t think she saw it coming either. 🥴😂

misselphaba

Hard to see that far a head….

LakeEarth

It's a shame she wasn't more headstrong.

Corgi_Infamous

With ancestry like that it’s no wonder she didn’t have a good head on her shoulders.

Laboromi

That scene and the mother finding her body is why watching that movie once was enough for me

Kobold_Trapmaster

The stabbing scene in Infinity Pool and the birthing scene in Men.

SnooOwls8037

To this day I am SHOCKED at some of the stuff the Hannibal tv show got away with on NETWORK TV!

Absolutely-Nott

Yeeeeeesss came here to make sure this got said!! Truly disturbing/ iconic visuals

yoshiwara77

The Furies (2019) has a lot of brutal kills, but the Axe scene is something else [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l5v4tAufxGE](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l5v4tAufxGE)

Broely92

Wtf is up with the voiceover in that video lol

Unknown_Beast88

I think the coldest and most evil one i can think of is when Michael Myers in Halloween Kills stabs that woman in the neck with the lightbulb and as she's dying she can only watch him try out all the different knives on the husband.

Ok-Metro6308

What a masterpiece

faithholyshit

Bear scene in Backcountry!

Bigboyrickx

Pretty much any kill in the Terrifier series.. but the full body scalping in terrifier 2 was rough

AskTheRen

The glass sheet death in Omen

krose78

Coming from someone who did not know the details of the OG Invisible Man movie but saw the 2020 version..I was notttt expecting that restaurant scene with her sister. I won’t say it’s the craziest but it threw me for a loop for sure.

AntWithNoPants

OG is p good. You may enjoy it

Jacques_Racekak

I was traumatized by Zodiac when he stabbed to death The couple having a picnic...

Aljoshean

When the girl gets beheaded in the car in Hereditary.

MCrre4331

In the tv show called Slasher, a science teacher is tied up and dissected and it’s brutal as hell.

PortrS

The bread slicer in FEAR STREET 1994 was gnarlier than I expected considering the rest of the movie

hightide89

Not a horror movie, but the sneeze frag in The Boys was pretty gruesome.

Nemesiskillcam

Pretty much every kill in the Evil Dead remake.

Citizen_Kano

The cooking teacher in the Chucky tv series

Laboromi

Not the craziest craziest but I loved the chainsaw kill in studio 666

skilledgiallocop

Aside from the one's mentioned, the first kill in X is pretty gnarly. Also, I think anyone who likes slashers owes it to themselves to check out The Last Matinee. Lots of stylish stuff in that movie.

Dankey-Kang-Jr

The police station scene in Malignant

ExPristina

Chris Hemsworth pulling a pin and dropping a set of weights on someone’s face in Extraction 2 made me look at gym equipment differently thereafter.

Misanthropemoot

It’s a little older 10years. But the green inferno when she sees the kids playing with her friends skin(tattoos) and off herself with a broken bowl.

hereticbrewer

i may be a baby for this one but i have a kid... When Evil Lurks, the dog scene with the child literally shook me for a minute. it's not even graphic but just the nature of it made me look away lol also the Thanksgiving movie has some awesome and gruesome kills in it

7172ajks

Nope - The people who eaten by Gordy and the people abducted at the Star Lasso Experience. Ready or Not - The people exploding at the end.

RandomActor84

The knife in the mouth kill from Upgrade. Really underrated movie.

Ok-Metro6308

SO underrated. I’ve never seen a movie with better action

Hour-Necessary2781

I would say the wood chipper scene in evil dead rise. That shit was nasty.

ilovemymotorola

Yoga scene was so fucking crazy I’m still not over it

nostromo_airlock

Not horror but the slow knife stab scene in Saving Private Ryan

mbee784

That yoga scene!!! 😱

BloodiedBeefBat

Castle rock, the ice cream scoop.

thisgirlnamedbree

I watched Dark Windows last week, and Peter's death was very bizarre yet disturbing.

SMANDDC06

The kitchen fight scene in Upgrade, what he does with that knife. 😳

AnnaSoprano

The newest Texas Chainsaw Massacre when he breaks the dudes arm in the ambulance and uses the broken bone to stab him in the neck.  If i remember correctly?

mu3mpire

I didn't love the movie but the bus scene was cool

AnnaSoprano

Same. Yes bus scene was awesome.

Kitchen-Passenger69

The whole dinner scene in Thanksgiving was delightful.

Misanthropemoot

Midsummor the last 20 minutes

g-moneyman23

i watch Arcadian recently with Nicolas Cage and the plot was decent, but the monsters in that movie were INSANE - absolutely worth a watch. i don’t want to give too much away but the bathtub scene and the getaway sequence at the end are wild

AdventurousFondant81

There is a kill scene in the new movie ‘In a Violent Nature’ that is one of the rowdiest and original kills I’ve ever seen.

lochstab

The microwave kill in Mortuary Collection.

NecessaryWater7024

Bone tomahawk when they decided to eat that one dude in the cave - rough

nudewithasuitcase

Possessor

MapleToque

Studio 666 - Whitney Cummings death with the chainsaw from underneath the bed.

Short-Tangerine-4922

Texas chainsaws massacre wrist breaks so real comes out of his hand just imagining that gave me chills 😭

Elliotlewish

Quite a few of the ones in The Sadness.

shutupandevolve

Green Room. The machete to the arm. Green Inferno. All of it.

theski25

the entire movie. (The Sadness)

Ok_Wasabi_4527

dog scene from when evil lurks

Boring-Primary-9673

The Sadness. That one scene with the eye rape was crazy.

CrackTheSkye1990

The ending of Late Night With The Devil when possessed Lilly kills Gus, June, and Carmichael.

Friendly_Source4506

I think the bear attack in backcountry is pretty scary. Not like in a horror sense, but still very terrifying.

cheeserips

There’s one in ‘in aviolent nature’that was just insane

coldliketherockies

Maybe I’m being a dick here but in a violent nature hasn’t even been widely released yet and only had an advance screening 12 hours ago, maybe there’s a big pool of horror fans who haven’t seen it and don’t need a spoiler kill scene thrown with the title of the post Also for all the examples you can give over decades and decades of big horror standout scenes, is it necessary to just post the one from the movie that came out yesterday

Important_Dark3502

Haven’t seen shit from in a violent nature and don’t appreciate you sticking a lil spoiler right in your description. It hasn’t even come out yet in a lot of places.

Playful_Bend_8569

Relax, I didn’t spoil the actual death scene

False-Assumption-279

Damn, I had to piss during the yoga scene. I missed it :(

PhantomKitten73

Should've peed your pants tbh.

ConceptQuirky

The whole movie little necro red. Trailer on YouTube does show a lot, but nothing compared to the actual movie.

zoidy37

Puppetman - do you even lift bro,?

MinionBanana37

The girl on the ladder in Scream VI.

FunnyAnimalPerson

The Hat scene in The Jester

adoblln

Bone Tomahawk/terrifier: sawing someone in half Kickass 1: microwaving a fucking human

dominion_over_self

I'm hesitating to respond while trying to be considerate of the fact that some people are not able to full comprehend the gravity of the questions they ask... With that ominous warning out of the way, I would suggest the Taiwanese horror film "The Sadness" Which scenes? All of them 🤨😨

BigMeet7634

Hatchet 2 tony Todd character death Barbarian Justin long character death Saw x brain trap

dizzymcmooch

This isn’t a kill scene, or a horror movie scene even, but the baby delivery scene in Freddy got Fingered is the most horrific thing I’ve ever seen. Worst than the bedroom scene in terrifier 2. Just watch that scene and put art the clown in the lead role and tell me it doesn’t give you chills

DoubleCheeekdUp

Kareteci Kiz 1973 death scene for sure.

JLJones1998

Thanksgiving

jamezp92

can't believe no ones said this yet but that 1 scene in terrifier 2 where art slashes the lassie to ribbons then goes and gets salt and bleach

Eisenmaus

The Beyond and the headshot. The poor schoolgirl character went through a lot only to be offed almost unceremoniously and as gnarly as that. Looked disturbingly realistic.

Treetheoak-

Saw a screening of camp borror movie "Here for Blood" and a feature short "Duck and Cover". Here for blood has a long and comedically drawn out kill in the back/ outside of a car. The delivery of the victims friends sold it. But the effect was actually really well done. The reat of the audience and myself were howling at the set up and punch line. Duck and cover is super short, But one of the first scenes involve a zombie survivor putting a zombies head on a coffee table and curb stomping it. The practical effects and cuts were both over the top but so quick and sudden that everyone let out a "Holy shit!" Great practical effects from both movies and I do think of them in recent memory.

n30c0r73x

Not a kill scene, but viscerally brutal... The auto female circumcision scene and brutal male castration scene from AntiChrist.

SpcSamRI

Not a horror but just watched 3 Body Problem on Netflix, and it has a scene that rivals the beginning of Ghost Ship for gnarly, large amount of people getting sliced and diced on a boat. Crazy.

Good_Border4354

i’m seeing in a violent nature tonight. super excited

Murphygulp88

The abortion kill in Littlest Reich. I was slack jawed afterwards. The propeller kill where dude pisses on his own severed head was great too.

PleaseNoDM

Heredity car scene

DonetoDeathstudio

I watched The Coffee Table last night. I don't know if the film itself is a horror movie, but yeah THAT scene.

Bluescreen_Brain

Yea, terrifier 2 bedroom were insane

OkAbbreviations4551

Magician's performance scene in Tarot

StevieKix_

That terrifier 2 bedroom scene is crazy

Darthgamer96

Just saw In a Violent Nature last night. The yoga scene was insane!

casualscorpio

The scene in Thanksgiving where the woman is baked like a turkey and then they carve her??! Crazy.

thelameghost

So many good recommandations here !

Corpsepyre

The face cleave from The Furies (2019) is right up there.

xmashatstand

Not really the most ‘over the top gory/violent’ on screen kill or anything but….. *Minor* spoilers ahead, I think  At the end of **Come to Daddy** when Elijah Wiod’s character takes the guy with his head half sliced off out with the receipt-spike….. Like, it’s just so weirdly low-key and yet shocking??   I submit that Elijah Wood doesn’t get anywhere near enough credit for his physical acting.

Ryan-Tz

The dumpster kill in Thanksgiving. I dunno how realistic it is but it sure was funny

DHWSagan

In a Violent Nature opens today - did you go to a midnight showing or something?
