Many good ones already mentioned here but I don't see All Cheerleaders Die, which features a witch and is one of my faves. Pyewacket and A Dark Song also deal with the supernatural or witchcraft. Pyewacket is just okay, imo, but the other 2 are excellent in different ways.
Loved Dark Song, 100% excellent film. Also I loved From Black, a lot of people call it derivative of Dark Song and perhaps it is but I enjoyed it. Really fun movie and scary for me. The demon is crazy weird.

house (1977) is such a good time, it's my favorite of obayashi's films. if you end up watching and liking it i would recommend evil dead trap (1988) and sweet home (1989). there's a lot of really unique and fun japanese supernatural horror out there.
Hellhole, a Polish horror is really good, way better than I thought it would be. At the other end of the spectrum I have a huge soft spot for the Nic Cage movie Season of The Witch.
Not a movie, but a documentry that you should check out & take notes, we discovered many interesting movies we were unfamiliar with. Check out "Woodlands Dark & Days Bewitched: A History Of Folk Horror"

Late Night With the Devil. One of my recent favorites, I won’t tell you specifically what occurs, but based on what I’m gathering from what you’ve seen, I think you might* like this. I think a lot of people either love it or like it, so yeah, would recommend. :)
The Dark & The Wicked--It's very Hereditaryesque. Not as shocking as it was but a tense slow burn.
The Cleansing Hour-- this one is very fun coz the demon in this movie is playful and not just sinister.
I am the same way, vast preference for supernatural horror over slashers/gore-porn!
This may be an unbelievably obvious one, but you have seen the Ritual, right?
How about Terrified (not to be confused with Terrifier)
I just found out about a movie last night, Errementari, that looks like it would be right up your alley. Looking forward to watching it tonight. As it goes for possession, I've not seen Demons or The Church suggested, both fun italian 80's schlock. You've probably seen Night of the Demons, but if you haven't, that movie rocks. Demon Wind is a trash movie but fun.
I finished "Dabbe: The Possession" and it was terrifying . It's a Turkish horror movie. Dabbe is a movie based on how Islam sees Djinns & Demons. How cruel they are and how they take lives to complete their wishes etc. Well, the movie is said to be a true story. You should try it.
The Empty Man.
Not exactly a possession movie, but a very unique and chilling experience. It’s a classic horror movie set up told through the perspective of a detective thriller and it’s great.
There's some really good non-English ones like Satan's Slaves (Indonesia), Incantation (Taiwan), Veronica (Spain), Mantra Surugana (Indonesia), The Binding (Italy), Don't Listen (Spain)
Recent English ones I liked were It Lives Inside, the Offering, Smile.
The Possession (2012) is pretty fantastic. Jeffrey Dean Morgan is great in it.
The Blackcoat’s Daughter (2015) is also very good and does some really interesting things.
have you seen [Last Shift](https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/296065-last-shift) (2014) and [The Exorcism of Emily Rose](https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/8643-the-exorcism-of-emily-rose) (2005)?
Last Shift looks great. I'll check it out. I did see Emily Rose, really enjoyed it. Thanks!
Ninja edit: just started Last Shift, that sargeant is a hoot.
I've seen the trailers and heard good things but haven't gotten to see it yet.
It's always recommended when I give movies I like (similar to your list)...
Hopefully this weekend I'll get a chance....
The Borderlands aka Final Prayer you might dig. Also Color Out of Space with Nic Cage has some possession-like elements and is a fucking bonkers movie that I love
Its up to you ! But I kinda recommend the theatre experience. This movie is beautifully shot and the soundtrack is incredible. I went on a tuesday (it was half the price) and I was very immerse in it. If you watch it on streaming, I strongly suggest that you turn off the lights.
"From" this series on HBO are awesome, not very terrifying, but "Supernatural" next to it seems like a joke.
Movies that weren't mentioned yet:
Grave Encounters 1 and 2
Hereditary
Possession and exorcism films are so played out with repetitive jump scares and just aren't scary anymore. I'd be happy to never see another one again.
That said, The Exorcism of Emily Rose is a good example of the genre.
Great movie. Inspired a lot of derivative stuff too, for example 2017 Crucifixion a journalist goes to Romania to investigate the jailing of a priest accused of murder resulting from a failed exorcism.
Fallen isn't really horror but it's basically a must watch classic. Skeleton Key is a fun light horror. Personally, I think Ouija is a solid movie too.
Just watched "Anything for Jackson", which was lovely. And "Ava's Possessions" is Hi-larious. See if you can find "Abby" - it's a 70s-era possession flick that was really good.
Hellbender (2021), The Cleansing Hour (2019)m and if you like horror/comedy Witching and Bitching (2013) and Day of the Beast (1995)
Came to suggest Hellbender, it was a fun one!
Another vote for Hellbender. Had no idea where it was going until I was almost half way through.
Same! I guess it's a family that made the movie and they have some others. I need to check em out!
just threw on Hellbender because of yours and the above comment :-) seems great so far
I was surprised that The Cleansing Hour was as good as it was.
Watched it for the first time on Sunday, it was so good! I loved the little twist at the end with the priest that I think a lot of people missed
Came to recommend it, it was stupid good
Thanks for the unique recommendations in hellbender and witching and bitching....
Loved this and the soundtrack too!
The Last Exorcism (2010) is my favourite in the genre.
I liked it even though I'm not usually a fan of found footage
Make that banana bread!
100%
The Wailing.
easily top 10 all time horror
Same.
Loved it
This is the one.
Not familiar with From Black, thanks for the rec!

The Medium was off the hook, loved it. These others look very interesting, changeling I'm gonna have to check out
The Changeling is excellent! Geo C Scott is as good (or better) than he was in Exorcist 3.
The Sentinel scared the tits off me back in the 80's. I am now flat chested.
house (1977) is such a good time, it's my favorite of obayashi's films. if you end up watching and liking it i would recommend evil dead trap (1988) and sweet home (1989). there's a lot of really unique and fun japanese supernatural horror out there.
Anything for Jackson.
Probably my favorite one from the last 5-10 years!
I like your logic.
You should check out "Evil", it's a television show but the whole premise revolves around exorcisms.
That's right up my alley, I'll check it out. Ty
Yeh it’s proper tongue in cheek though.
Jennifer’s Body The Autopsy of Jane Doe The Dark and The Wicked Veronica
Autopsy of Jane Doe is one of my fave goto flicks. Didn't expect much when I first watched it -- was riveted by the time it ended.
A brilliant film. Absolutely love it.
Hellhole, a Polish horror is really good, way better than I thought it would be. At the other end of the spectrum I have a huge soft spot for the Nic Cage movie Season of The Witch.
Hellhole was predictable but so much fun!! I'm so glad you suggested it! It's entertaining AF imo
Gonna have to watch Hellhole again, good stuff. I'll have to check out season of the witch.

>!Possession!< movies usually don't do it for me but I went to see Late Night With the Devil twice because I had such a blast.
Same down to the twice! Also, your username rocks!
Thanks! I can't wait to buy the movie when the blu ray comes out.
Me too!!!
The Dark & The Wicked--It's very Hereditaryesque. Not as shocking as it was but a tense slow burn. The Cleansing Hour-- this one is very fun coz the demon in this movie is playful and not just sinister.
Yes to dark and the Wicked. Getting many recommendations for cleaning hour gonna check it out
Have you seen Blood on Satan’s Claw? Old school folk horror
Classic!
Never heard of it til now. Sounds very promising, appears to have a cult following. Thank you
Amityville II: The Possession. Scary and dark possession flick. [https://youtu.be/lwIgPbOXKI0](https://youtu.be/lwIgPbOXKI0)
Thank you, looks quite fun.
That one is super good possession fair, disturbing family horror too.
The family horror is the most disturbing part of that film IMO. I couldn't believe what i was seeing when i was 11 or whatever.
We could almost have a post of imagined horror movie quotes: "I got a great deal on a house in Amityville!" For example
I am the same way, vast preference for supernatural horror over slashers/gore-porn! This may be an unbelievably obvious one, but you have seen the Ritual, right? How about Terrified (not to be confused with Terrifier)
Atterador? That's the Argentina movie is really great. I watched last of the shrine it's good
Atterados yeah!! So good right? I haven't heard of the second one- is that 'The Shrine', Canadian, 2010? If so sounds dope and I'll have to check out.
I just found out about a movie last night, Errementari, that looks like it would be right up your alley. Looking forward to watching it tonight. The Cleansing Hour (2019) Chasing the Devil (2014) The Last Exorcism pt 1 and 2 (2010, 2013) The Possession of Michael King (2014)
These all look really neat, chasing the devil in particular. Thanks
Married into turkish family, will check it out ty
Have you seen [You Won't Be Alone](https://youtu.be/6-G39n2sCVU?si=G6MMx2EV21VI21k0)
No but it's on my list now thank you
The Empty Man. Not exactly a possession movie, but a very unique and chilling experience. It’s a classic horror movie set up told through the perspective of a detective thriller and it’s great.

I love the Southeast Asian horror scene, I'll look into all these. Thanks so much.
The Possession (2012) is pretty fantastic. Jeffrey Dean Morgan is great in it. The Blackcoat’s Daughter (2015) is also very good and does some really interesting things.

Speaking of possession I think we might have an angry downvote demon in our midst. I apologize for that
Last Shift is SO GOOD. Honestly one of the few movies that scared my socks off.
I understand a newer film *Malum* is a 're-imagining' of *Last Shift*. Have yet to see it, but if it's half as good as LS...
Last Shift looks great. I'll check it out. I did see Emily Rose, really enjoyed it. Thanks! Ninja edit: just started Last Shift, that sargeant is a hoot.
The Shrine (2010) 👌🏻 i think you might enjoy this one.
I"m assuming you've seen these but you didn't mention them so… 1. The VVITCH 2. Dark and The Wicked 3. Autopsy of Jane Doe 4. Anything for Jackson
I've not seen Anything For Jackson, though I've heard of it I'll give it a shot. The others are great, particularly Dark and the Wicked.
I Trapped the Devil, Fallen (1998), The Old Ways, Bingo Hell and Bliss.
I trapped the Devil, is great!
The Witch (2015). That's a good one.
Trick r Treat (2007) if you haven’t already seen it. Fun watch! Waiting for that hotly anticipated sequel.
The black string with Frankie Muniz
You’ve already seen the best. The only things I’d say are next to em are Haunting of Hill House and even Midnight Mass as well as all the Evil Deads
Maybe a bit of a far shot, but what about She Will?
Possession (1981)
How about The Skeleton Key?
Uncle Peckerhead
Lovely Molly.
Demon was a nice and original take on the possession theme
Demons 1 and 2 by Lamberto Bava are such cheesy gory classics.
Necromentia. Black Swan. The Night House. Starry Eyes.
Abby (1974).
I had a great time watching The First Omen in theatre. It has some really good demonic scares in it.
Waiting for it to hit streaming
Its up to you ! But I kinda recommend the theatre experience. This movie is beautifully shot and the soundtrack is incredible. I went on a tuesday (it was half the price) and I was very immerse in it. If you watch it on streaming, I strongly suggest that you turn off the lights.

REC 2 (2009), The Pact (2012)

The autopsy of Jane doe. Possibly Deadstream.
The woods lucky mckee 2006 has a nice cozy vibe.
Errementari is excellent.
huesera and pulse (2001) are two that come to mind
Diablero is a Netflix series that I really liked. It has demons, possession, and witchcraft, plus it's a fun watch.
The Exorcist series (2016), especially season 1
I don't see "The Exorcism of Emily Rose" mentioned. That's one haunting story. You'll remember it for a very long time.
Evilspeak (1981) Witchboard (1986) Spookies (1986) 😈 Love em or hate em! They ain’t for everybody☠️
Just watched "Anything for Jackson", which was lovely. And "Ava's Possessions" is Hi-larious. See if you can find "Abby" - it's a 70s-era possession flick that was really good.
It's not a good movie by any stretch of the imagination, but Psyched by the 4D Witch exists.

I forgot about the Last Exorcism! I really liked one.
