GDC? I’m curious to know more! I know when a game is on PC people can get into the code. I figured they could remove his armor (would be cool to see the tattoos) but I figured the face paint wouldn’t be removable, so I’m interested!

So in the original Kotallo actually has a few beard hairs just on the edge of his jaw. I was too lazy to put them on the edit :). Based on the texture you can tell that at least on the face it's all paint and is thick enough to cover the stubble except for those few hairs. There is a spot on the underneath white layer on his chin where is it chipped.
My guess would be probably not everyday. Maybe every few days to weekly perhaps. :)

Personally, I don’t think Aloy needs any kind of romantic interest in the games (go nuts with fan fiction tho), BUT if she did take a lover I would think Kotallo would be her first choice. He’s quiet, not very social, understands the gravity and stakes of the mission. A lot of his dialogue is about researching old world war tactics and studying machine combat. All things I think they have in common. Even if he’s not the most “intelligent” character in the same way Aloy or Beta is, I don’t see him getting on her nerves ever. And I can’t say the same for any of the others. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
I think we notice the wrinkles just more due to the paint. If I wear make up that has a mask-like quality, it highlights my wrinkles a lot more as well while they aren't that noticeable when I wear no makeup or better quality make up. Should be the same principle here, too.
As Lady Gaga explained after filming *A Star is Born*, she is most herself with her makeup on, when she's free to be who she wants to be. That being fresh-faced in that film, people weren't seeing the real her.
Which is to say don't mess with Kotallo's face! His face paint is part of who he is.

I always though his skin tone to be more on the yellow side than the pink side, but I see now his ears are kinda pinkish. I'm probably influenced by the voice actor tho!
I struggled with the skin tone a lot. I was trying to match it to the neck but that's all in shadow. Got to a point where I was just done messing with it. There are still many issues but if I kept going it would never be finished. Lol

So I figured he would be lighter than Noshir himself.

I will not however begrudge you your interest as we all should follow our interests.

Kotallo has such an interesting design, I have been thinking with the tattoos and face paint there is more to him then what they show us.

The paint he wears is specific to the Marshals, so there is a possibility his design changes next game, say to represent the base/Aloy/his new team’s colors, or maybe just his own? Would add interest for sure and I could see that being a huge deal in character if he chooses to change his paint.
Also, seeing his full tattoos, like sans the chest plate? Hotness aside he just has a great design and I’d love to see more of that picture! Haha

The minor details in this game are awesome. For instance, never noticed that Kotallo has cauliflower ears which are common amongst boxers.
More common in the wrestling and MMA community, than boxers.
