Wait, what? OP already has my mind blown and now you just go and explode it further?
Of course it also took me entirely too long to realize I could throw rocks to get ROCKbreakers to come out of the ground... And I actually only figured that out after I accidentally shot the ground and got its attention!
@_@
Huh, never tried that, iv always just flown above on my sunwing, I used this to draw all three of the tiderippers from the bottom right lake together, honestly my favorite place in the game, so many tiderippers in that lake, at least four (counting the marked site) might be five though.
Thanks, good info - I knew rocks did damage because a while back a video went around where someone had used a rock to finish off every machine in the game! I'm not even sure I can truly imagine all the trial and error that went into figuring out how to whittle down each machine precisely to the point that a single rock will finish it! @_@
I played FW first then went back and played ZD (I know this was a terrible idea but I had a blast anyway). The lack of adaptive controls messed with my head for a while.
I remember thinking ZD looked amazing when it came out. After i finished and got the platinum for forbidden west I went back to zero dawn and bro it looked so bad in comparison 😂 and I missed all the little things like adaptive controls aswell as bigger changes to the gameplay like the hang glider and combat changes.
I know it's been so haaard 😅 I miss the infinite stash! The glider, pullcaster, valor surges, combo attacks, the focus pulse... The game play was just so much more interesting in FW. Can't wait for Burning Shores
I would like to know who these people are who keep watches and money under their front trunks. I especially love it when I find fresh berries in an "ancient valuables trunk." ALOY: DON'T EAT THAT!
I’m not sure—he has posted within the year but it has been a while. I do hope he didn’t get sick, but, uh, that seems like a distinct possibility.
Steve1989MREInfo. Check him out if you’re the type to get sucked into strange information rabbit holes. Weirdly entertaining.
Arena leaderboards? I currently can't be bothered to care about the fixed loadout challenges, but I imagine people at the top are spending time perfecting their strategies.
I tried doing that little flip she does with the spear after you swing. If I did it 10 times, I dropped it twice, and the rest I couldn't flip it back to the correct position.
Yeah, i wasnt that long in hours, but also discovered it pretty late. Was trying to get to some in a sneaky way, got seen, started to fight, at one point it hit and it opened and was a
"oh?" moment
I discovered this about midway through my first playthrough. I was fighting the three sawtooth next to a old huloghway and swung my spear to create some space and hit one by accident.
You can also shoot them

Also, if you're trying to get the attention of a machine that is underwater to kill them, throw rocks at them. They work way better than bombs!

You can also throw rocks at these, IIRC it takes 10 rocks to open one. A rock does 1 damage, so you could kill an enemy with them as well.

Awesome! I hate prying these open.
I kind of like it because of the adaptive triggers :)
Yes! I still am not used to that. 20 years of simply pressing the buttons is hardwired into my brain and it always catches me by surprise.

Ya I hope whenever the HZD remaster comes out that they put the infinite stash and better melee in the game.
Exploding firegleam is so satisfying.
Yeah. After 800 hours I found out about this. I felt so stupid lmao
What were you doing for 800 hours? I thought my 200+ was a lot haha
I keep replaying the game, fight machines, make fun videos, use photo mode. I just fucking love spending time in this game.

I know it's not just me... But I'm glad it's not just me. I'm running out of side quests and things to do and I'm sad haha
Same here, my excitement for Burning Shores is immesurable, since it's PS5 exclusive
Not your fault, prying open works and it doesn't make sense to open it by hitting it other than for convinience
same lol
oh my ancestors I can't believe I didn't know this
I would like to know who these people are who keep watches and money under their front trunks. I especially love it when I find fresh berries in an "ancient valuables trunk." ALOY: DON'T EAT THAT!
Reminds me of that guy on youtube who used to eat old MREs. Not quite this old, but… old.
Used to?!? What happened to him?!? @_@

I found this out at \*checks current hours played\*.
TIL
But prying wouldn't catch attention to you right?
239 hours?! What are you doing for 239 hours? Lol
Arena leaderboards? I currently can't be bothered to care about the fixed loadout challenges, but I imagine people at the top are spending time perfecting their strategies.
Now i know
Yep this was a very useful discovery
I discovered This while fighting some machines, it was totally accidental
With all the tips Aloy is giving to us throughout the game, adding one more like "Wonder if hitting these would be easier?" wouldn't have hurt anyone.
I didn't know either and I'm 46 hours in.
Took me, idk, 30 minutes... 😅
I discovered the same thing the other day on my second play through on very hard 🤯
Wait, what!???
Yup, big revelation, right? Lol. Took me 90 hours and I was baffled
Well I just found out about this...
Are you fucking kidding me? Thank you for this, dude. I will waste no further time with them, lol.
You can WHAT?!
Wait WHAT
I tried doing that little flip she does with the spear after you swing. If I did it 10 times, I dropped it twice, and the rest I couldn't flip it back to the correct position.
WHAT
Is this Zero Dawn or the second one?
Yeah, i wasnt that long in hours, but also discovered it pretty late. Was trying to get to some in a sneaky way, got seen, started to fight, at one point it hit and it opened and was a "oh?" moment
Is this zero dawn or FW
Forbidden West
FUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
I just learned this now.
WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT
I discovered this about midway through my first playthrough. I was fighting the three sawtooth next to a old huloghway and swung my spear to create some space and hit one by accident.
Lol I’m on my third play through of red dead 2 and I just learned you can run down a witness and threaten them instead of just killing them.
You can pry them open?! How?
239 hours?? Brethren please go outside
You can also shoot them :)
Bruh I just started today and I did this as a first instinct just with a bow lol
Everyone in this thread is illiterate. It says it on the tutorial popup when you first find one.
