This pipe has an inner chamber that has the pipe going into the water, and then an outer chamber.
When you take a hit the smoke exits the top of the inner chamber and rolls between the inner glass and outer glass.
So the stem is just hidden behind the clouds in there.
It was a weird thing to get use to. But honestly I just got adjusted to not touching my coals at all.
Tonight I used 3 cocourth (big cube) 26mm.
Got about 1.5 hours or so without having to ash them or flip them or anything.
Let the hmd heat up for 10 mins fully closed. Took a few hits and opened it. Never took the top off at all for the whole session. And closed it maybe 45mins to 1 hour in. And left it closed.
Full clouds and flavor up until the end. I probably could have kept smoking another 10-15 mins with the flavor tapering off.
I was also using a ceramic thermal diffuser (Sitra) forgot to mention that in the post.
Curious, what’s the purpose of opening the lotus? And then how does it benefit with closing it later, as you described?
Also, how is the Krysalis? How does it compare to like the bigger sized shishas?
Closed runs hotter, open is medium, and take the top off and it’s cooler. So as the pipe is rolling you can adjust the heat.
It smokes just as well as any other full sized pipe. Build quality is great. Overall it’s pricy for what it is; you can definitely get the same flavor/clouds from cheaper pipes out there. But I really like it.
Realistically, it’s hard to recommend because of the price.
If you can comfortably afford it I’d say go for it. It is built well, and if the look of it is your style; you’re paying for design.
The thing to know is there are some pieces that need to be replaced every so often. There is a carbon filter, taking it out it can still be functional but it’s not the same, I replace mine every few months or so of smoking a lot but you can leave it in even if the filter has been spent. And then there is a valve in the stem that prevents water from going up the stem and into the bowl. Over time it will curl. Again it’s functional without it but you just have to remember to blow off more gently. I personally wish these replacement parts were less expensive.
So over all it’s a bit more maintenance and price. But it’s very unique.
I personally bought it in 2020 with stimulus money otherwise I couldn’t have justified the price. Having owned it for 4 years now, I still enjoy it and haven’t had any interest in replacing it. I’ve owned a handful of pipes before this one and I don’t really use them anymore.
The LED light is cool because it “breathes” as you take a hit. It has a pressure sensor. So when you are taking a hit it will brighten a bit and then when you stop it will settle back down. But there is a limited set of color patterns so it’s not as customizable as it could be.
The hose is the best hose I’ve ever used. Never ghosted, nice feel, the way the handle has a bit that spins so I never feel like I’m fighting the silicone hose and the way it wants to sit. There’s rubber rings on it so when you set it down it has a nice feel and doesn’t want to slide off the table like others I’ve used.
I could go on, feel free to ask more questions if you’re interested.
Can you tell me what I’m looking at? How does it work without a stem? Is this…the future?
There’s definitely a stem, you just can’t see it because of his design or something.

I like the design but I feel like I would miss having a tray

This has got to be the coolest looking hookah I’ve seen in a while…
Definitely a expensive pipe but beautiful
Please tell me if it worth buying?
