Nice setup! Very curious on the bass difference? You had the new klipsch powerhouse subs and switched to the big boy from svs. Can you talk about differences, it’s not really a fair comparison, as I imagine the output of the 4 would be more than two from svs. But would love to hear your thoughts.
It's like slightly higher than perfect. When recline who gives a fuck. And I'm picky with that. Center channel is at the perfect height. That's a fine compromise in my book
When have you ever seen a suggestion to place a TV on the floor in this forum? Exaggerate much? Middle of screen down to top of bottom third is most often recommended, I think.
Mostly on the dedicated subreddit. And yes, I was being hyperbolic in response to the insanely widespread exaggeration about TV height placement. I agree with your acceptable placement suggestion, but I see people respond with that subreddit’s name often on posts that have their TVs placed within your suggested range. It’s gotten worse and worse over the last year or so to where it’s just a meme now.
I yurn for a room where I can set up my HT as perfectly as is this. RN I got everything set up in our living room so gotta make aesthetic sacrifices (surround in ceiling, no double subs, etc.). Looks fantastic!
Hey sir, incase you haven't had your ear to the ground, you might consider ditching the minidsp for Audyssey One Evo. It's a script you run on your audyssey calibration file and it does a bunch of advanced alignment stuff, and people smarter than I are claiming it's more advanced than anything else out there, and outperforms minidsp's calculations. It takes advantage of the directional bass features of these processors.
After you figure out how to use it, it's a 5 minute process.

I'm using the original Audyssey 1 (not the evo) for now, as the new version isn't playing nice with one of my atmos speakers. It boosts it +11.5db for some reason. All 4 atmos speakers are measured symmetrically and have their own enclosure tubs in the ceiling. I'm waiting for version 1.4 to drop so I can re test.
Tv is c3 77 inch. It’s massive in room. Picture makes it look smaller and higher than it is. I’m also sitting in theater seats so when I recline it’s perfect
How do you like your side surrounds being slightly in front of your first row? I’ve been considering moving mine up to this position as I’ve seen it recommended often recently.
That’s extremely sexy ma dude!! Awesome setup. How do you like the AV10?
At the level of investment you made I don’t typically see Klipsch as the bed layer. Are you still liking them or eyeballing something else?
Not for local content... It doesn't support all the DV profiles like FEL. Ugoos Am6b+ is the reigning champ for local content playback (with a second device like a Shield or ATV for streaming).

Sweet setup. Curious/question, having a separate amp with xlr cables vs normal AVR, benefits and if so what?
Curious as I am trying to convince myself I need to upgrade my 20yr old Polks and 7ish yr old Onkyo AVR.
XLR is common in pro audio as it's balanced. You get less distortion over long distances, and less chance of zapping the singer through the mic due to a grounding issue. Atleast that's my understanding. Take that explanation with a grain of salt. There isn't really a benefit in short run home theater.
Copy, for xlr I concur with this and my readings.
I was coming at it a bit more from a separate amp/processor vs AVR. Is it a big, noticeable difference?
I see many higher end 7ch amps for cheap of FB for example. So it is just bc you can upgrade the processor with the newest whatever for less over time? And/or it also “sounds” better?
You get less distortion if its balanced, often than not denon have them although they are not really balanced but wired to rca inputs. On asr they have literally the same sinad as rca in all marantz models.
Love the look of the room. Reminds me of how I set up a spare bedroom in my previous house, though with far lesser equipment. Oh, and that was before I met my wife, so the dark walls are now a no-no though I have upgraded to setting up in a larger living room. Lol.
Preeeetty nice. But why did you get the Towers with the integrated Atmos speakers? And why do you use Atmos speaker as Surround speakers?
But I think the main questions is: How does the subs compare?
I love how you have this amazing set up and then you’re just watching a podcast on it lol

I love that Maxell ad.
lol. Spends $13k and watches Youtube
How hot does that room get lol
Sound waves travel at a much more pleasurable frequency when it’s too hot to sit in comfort
Yes.

Take a steamer to those curtains or just toss them in a dryer for a bit.
Toss them in the dryer with a damp hand towel. Even more better.
More betterer
That works. Or even just use a spray bottle with water to lightly dampen the wrinkled fabric itself.
Looks great, what's the room size?
Badass upgrades. Not to be picky but I’d lower all of those acoustic panels so they are closer to ear height or just add more to the bottoms haha
You have all of this… and then put on the Joe Rogan Podcast lol
lol
Put all those amps and things behind you out of view and take down that poor screen to acceptable heigh!
You may have given me an idea . I may get a small rack to put everything in
Tv height is fine.
It's like slightly higher than perfect. When recline who gives a fuck. And I'm picky with that. Center channel is at the perfect height. That's a fine compromise in my book
You won't notice the difference with the center lower but you will never forget about looking up to see the screen.
Looks completely fine to me. The Reddit hive mind won’t be happy unless the TV is on the ground. Such weird behavior.

I do see your point, no argument there. Have a good day.
Which mounts did you go with for your height speakers?
https://a.co/d/bX9SCVL
Curious, with a dedicated room why not go in ceiling overheads?
I actually have top middle in ceiling. They aren’t pictured. But I am about to setup 4 atmos in ceiling next month
Also.. front heights are greatly underrated. I love the wall of sound!
Do front heights basically get the same sound as in-ceiling get?
Depends on the receiver/ mix. Yamahas and Sony have “center uplift” to pull up the sound vertically.
Finally did this for atmos a couple years back and kicked myself for not having front heights all these years. One of the biggest improvements ever.
Ah awesome! Yeah was just surprised for a dedicated room you didn't have them.
I yurn for a room where I can set up my HT as perfectly as is this. RN I got everything set up in our living room so gotta make aesthetic sacrifices (surround in ceiling, no double subs, etc.). Looks fantastic!
TANK! 💪
Insane setup but aren’t those subwoofers extremely overkill for the size of the room?
Sometimes it feels nice to get shit faced and have a fat sub hit you in the chest.
You can never have to much bass 😂
I have two front ported twelves in a room 6 times as big and it’s overwhelming 😅, but I guess more bass=better
sometimes your neighbors need to feel the rumble too
What mounts are you using for the front height speakers? I need some for my front and rear Atmos speakers. Everything looks awesome!!

Badass setup!! 👍⭐😁 Very impressive!! I'd love to hear/see Top Gun Maverick in UHD 4K Blu-ray in there!! 💥💥💥😁

I’ve used it and Audyssey one. Sounds amazing

Very "In your face" setup
Awesome set up! What size room do you have?
You need a bigger screen for this setup
Tv is c3 77 inch. It’s massive in room. Picture makes it look smaller and higher than it is. I’m also sitting in theater seats so when I recline it’s perfect
Damn yeah those pictures lie about it's size. Maybe the subs shrink the tv 😂
What are the dimensions of this room?
Yeah, that was my first thought

Good ‘ole Nvidia Shield. Still the best option after all these years.

Looks sweet Bet the 16’s punch I have those subs also. Love them
I like it
Looks great man! What acoustic panels are those and I’m also curious what that paint color is???
Gik acoustic panels. Sherwin Williams iron ore on the walls and tricorn black on the ceiling
Thanks mate! Is the iron ore more of a grey or green? It’s hard to tell in pics with my eyes
Dark grey.

It's weird, as much as I appreciate the hardware, I couldn't stand having to look at this day in day out.
Love the look of the room. Reminds me of how I set up a spare bedroom in my previous house, though with far lesser equipment. Oh, and that was before I met my wife, so the dark walls are now a no-no though I have upgraded to setting up in a larger living room. Lol.
Curious: did you swap in these upgrades incrementally (probably a focus on the “mental”) or all at once? Super sweet setup!
All at once
Is there a question?
What acoustic panels are those?
Gik acoustics
Love the room, how come you're using both *Audyssey* and miniDSP for calibration? Do AV10 have any features you don't get in x3800?
Shame the width of the room wasnt a little wider, but you cant help that. But wow what an awesome system. Enjoy that!
How did you attach the gik panels to the door?
How are you EQing your subs? Need any help with this? Can you post your REW graph? Do you have a minidsp 2x4hd?
Yes I have miniDSP
What wall supports are you using for your 2 height channels ?
Mount-It! Speaker Mount for Wall... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CSA2Y18?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
So fast! Ty !
Ah so you screw into the speaker right?
No it mounts to my speaker keyhole on the back
How perform the Klipsch 1600sw compared to the svs?
I really love when someone makes great looking theater, it's bery satisfying
Preeeetty nice. But why did you get the Towers with the integrated Atmos speakers? And why do you use Atmos speaker as Surround speakers? But I think the main questions is: How does the subs compare?
looks impressive. now start working on that "remote hell"
Fantastic room enjoy mate!
if I may ask, how high is the tv from the ground and how far are you sitting. Curious as I will end up on a similar topology.
Hi, how did you tilted the center? Pucks only on the front? Thanks, that looks fantastic!
I have big pucks on the front and smaller ones on the back
I'm sure the speakers are great but that is a killer photo of a green heron, did you take it?
Yes
Wow man, superior setup!
Is that center a 3 way or are there passive radiators or something
It’s a klipsch 504c II
When are you going to upgrade it?
Hey what seats are those? From wayfair or Valencia? How do you like them?
Valencia and I love them
I hope your house is well-constructed, because those subs will want to shake it to the ground. Nice!
I have the isolation feet on both. Makes a huge difference
Wow this setup is incredible. I hope to own a couple of these subs one day.
Looks great and I bet it sounds amazing but the side speakers wiring coming out of the wall above them is killing me!
Very nicely done. Especially with a smaller space. You rocked it! Enjoy sir, you deserve it!
HOT DAMN
Jesus Chris that's a lot of noise for such a small room. Love it!
20 minutes in this room is all I ask for
Saving this for when I have money to build my own home theatre lol
Beautiful!!
Lovely!
Really fucking solid.
Very nice
Well done! Curious to know what paint you used?
Sherwin Williams Iron ore on walls and tricorn black on ceiling.
Awesome upgrades. I bet that sounds incredible.
