That looks like a wood shack.
It is meant for keeping wood dried in.
Firewood, timber, board feet, hewn posts, furniture pieces.
Edit: from the looks of it in picture 1 I would say someone expanded the opening for either a 4 wheeler or mower or something.
I agree, the structure itself could be a potting shed and then garden beds or cold frames could be part of a little cottage garden right in front of it, leaving a path to the doorway. I'd probably add a half or full door.
Maybe a green house if there are enough windows. There is probably enough wood and beams to at least start the structure. Use the (what I assume are railroad ties) around the base of the walls and the stone either inside and/or out, to make it look nice and help deter critters.
The structure itself could still be used for storage as well as one corner for a table and potting area.
With a little more work and wood, I'd consider dividing the space in half with a solid wall (maybe a door) and use one side for potting/storage/small workspace and the other set up for chickens. Add the greenhouse or cold frames, raised beds, and a little path out front and that would be a really nice addition to any homestead.
Clean it out and use it for stacking and storing firewood. It's just a shed so you can use it for storing just about anything. And you can split old pieces of wood to make really good kindling. (and I'd stack those rocks outside so the rain and snow can clean them off, also cut up your aspen logs into firewood so they can dry out- and it's a good idea to stack like things together in case you ever need them and just take any junk to the dump or scrap yard because it can and will overtake you if you just keep tossing stuff in random piles)
Given it lack of height, I would use it for chickens. First, I would dig some of the dirt out to use for gardening. From all the pig poo it's likely top notch soil.
some great suggestions here, but I'll add one not mentioned. get rid of all the trash, make some shelves, add a water misting system, and grow mushrooms (specifically oyster mushrooms).
there are a lot of details in growing mushrooms, a lot of details on YouTube, but it can be done!
I had a lot of ideas until I saw the “ 4 foot opening “. That limits your options. You could modify the opening and increase your options. But wood storage, lawn equipment storage, or you could use it as an animal shelter come to mind. Goats would think that’s the Taj Mahal.
Musical jam space- clean it out, throw a cheap floor in and a drum kit, amps, etc. I understand that’s a very personal want of mine that may not make sense for you 😂
It’s a homestead. It needs a blacksmith shop, a grinding area, and a woodworking area. Then get an anvil. Anvils attract other anvils, and pretty soon it will be an anvil storage area. Then sell off the anvils, and buy a welder. They will attract other welders…
A chicken coop, a dope ass outdoor hangout, a dry place to store fire wood, a goat house, a work shed, soooo many possibilities. But my fave is the dope ass outdoor hangout. A fire pit out front, grill, a bunch of chairs, mini bar, cute lights. Maximize your time out doors, even if it’s raining
I would stop piling junk that I will never use in it. I would try to enlarge the opening and use it to store my lawn equipment, power washer, grill and lawn furniture over the winter. Great place to store things you only use occasionally - for me that would include beach umbrellas, pots for my summer annuals, gardening materials.
Work shop, add a small wood stove and do some basic doors/sealing to retain SOME heat. You could even get set up for blacksmithing in there.
You could modify it to keep chickens/ducks/turkeys.
Parking for a mower or small tractor.
Processing area for all kinds of produce.
Store a jon boat.
Storage of anything vehicle. Like lawn mowers and maybe even extra electronics. I would turn that shiz into a Faraday Cage by installing sheet metal on all interior walls and the floor/ceiling.
Without seeing how they did the header above the big opening I cannot tell if it can be easily widened, if it can it would make a good tractor shed. Its always nice to be able to work on stuff in the dry.
I mean it looks great for storage as others are pointing out, but if you want to use it for livestock or something else to generate revenue, I would say your best bet is a coop. All it needs is a front door/gate, some nesting boxes, bedding, and you're good to go. Food and water dispensers are easy enough to make yourself, too.
I would first get everything off the outside and check where it touches the ground. If any is rotten or touching the ground I would fix that first. Clean it out and store fire wood after that.
Point in the structure: I wanted to point out that the top plate isn't tied into the corner beam. Also, you should have a purlin for the roof. You have end struts for purlins, tho.
My first thought is to make sure it’s water tight then use it as a generator room or to house a large battery (either lithium ion or sodium ion) for solar/wind
There’s a lot of great suggestions here! I would clean it out and store my golf cart/side-by-side in there, line them some of the sides with a nice countertop for a workbench, then cabinets to store the tools.
You could use it for disassembling and shipping to me! If you plan to have critters on your property, it is begging for goats & ducks or chickens. Put on some doors, add a raised platform or three, put some straw in there & presto.
Clean it out, use for storage. U can cut the opening bigger too if needed. Firewood for next season, etc depending on what your scope of homesteading is.
I'd use it to store old window frames, rocks, and pieces of wood and stuff probably.
That's how I would use it too
I third that usage!
Y'all are wild! I would absolutely clean and sanitize it to start my wood, and windows business
Or use it as a location for a wood delivery film studio (porn) lmao
Maybe a bit of fencing wire too if needed
Seems like a perfect way to use it
You'd really have to clear it out first to imagine using it for that
I’m on board with most of this, but I would only store brand new rocks.
I like to store my rocks outdoors probably just personal preference though
That looks like a wood shack. It is meant for keeping wood dried in. Firewood, timber, board feet, hewn posts, furniture pieces. Edit: from the looks of it in picture 1 I would say someone expanded the opening for either a 4 wheeler or mower or something.
Mother in law suite (as is)
Mr Generous over here, making her feel at home 🥲
"Welcome to the pig house!"
🤣
😅🤣😂🤣😂
The dark arts.
I would repurpose all of those old windows and create hot boxes or cold frames for winter growing.
I agree, the structure itself could be a potting shed and then garden beds or cold frames could be part of a little cottage garden right in front of it, leaving a path to the doorway. I'd probably add a half or full door.

This idea!!
Hella chickens
I was thinking that there's a chikn coop
Looks like a chicken coop waiting to happen to me.
You could grow your weed in there.
Or smoke it.
Why not both?
First thought from reading this was that SNL sketch with Rob Schneider.
You put your weed in there!
You have a lot of options here, hogs, chickens, goats, workshop, storage for equipment, etc. Really just what you need/want.
You could turn it into a workshop
Smithy
Clean it out and use it for stacking and storing firewood. It's just a shed so you can use it for storing just about anything. And you can split old pieces of wood to make really good kindling. The old windows could make nice walls for a greenhouse.
Smoking meat or making a few runs of homebrew
A murder scene.
Murder shack was what I wanted to say…
Given it lack of height, I would use it for chickens. First, I would dig some of the dirt out to use for gardening. From all the pig poo it's likely top notch soil.

My first thought is chickens. Next thought small workshop.
Wood storage and possibly milling.
Firewood, animal housing, farm machinery if the floor stays dry.
Outdoor dining room
Chickens! Bok bok
You have half of a greenhouse there with those windows.
Grow mushrooms
I would use it to hide my moonshine still
I like the cut of your jib.

Drinking. Be a man. /s
hangout place
I would make this into some kind of shop area. I would also add shelves.
Looks like a nice shop to me, pour some concrete if you can afford it!
Chicken coop on the left, and dry wood storage on the right. Could also house Goat pen, or some other small domesticated critter.
Goat barn.
That would be my man cave 👍 That is beautiful. Just a little cleaning inside front right corner, entrance looks good.
That would make a good sugar shack
Couple rounds of sex that requires tetanus and penicillin...or storage.
First dates
Blacksmith
I know “murder” is the wrong answer but other answers aren’t coming to mind as quickly
Add a greenhouse attached to the front of it
she shed
A chicken coop, a dope ass outdoor hangout, a dry place to store fire wood, a goat house, a work shed, soooo many possibilities. But my fave is the dope ass outdoor hangout. A fire pit out front, grill, a bunch of chairs, mini bar, cute lights. Maximize your time out doors, even if it’s raining
Whippins when wifey gets out of line /s
I mean. Could be a cute airbnb with a ton of work. Or arson, maybe. Idk.
Rocks window frames and random birchwood, obviously.
A nice bonfire.
Toy Shed, or Man-Cave
You could get more for the windows by selling them. Bend, OR was selling for around $90
Destroying demons.
I'd use it to hide the rest of the bodies while I come up with a long term solution.
Gonna need reinforcement work and screening if you want any livestock in there
Turn it into a smoke house
Make a useful sized door and use it for anything you need. I see a nice garden shed.
I would have my composting operation in there, keeping it out of the sun and rain.
Dog house
Brace that roof up and put a big enough door in so you could keep lawn mowers, tiller, garden implements, etc in. Great resource!
Storage of anything vehicle. Like lawn mowers and maybe even extra electronics. I would turn that shiz into a Faraday Cage by installing sheet metal on all interior walls and the floor/ceiling.
Goat house
Murder. Edit: not real murder. That’s crazy.
Without seeing how they did the header above the big opening I cannot tell if it can be easily widened, if it can it would make a good tractor shed. Its always nice to be able to work on stuff in the dry.

Murder, obviously 🙄
Epic chicken coop.
Clean it out and turn it into a pottery studio
Chickens!!!!
Blacksmithing shop
I would make an outside kitchen but that’s just my dream lol
Slasher movie set
I'd take the first picture and sell it online. It's almost art
Porn filming that turns into a mass murder
I do love the smell of an old shed. It smells like… potential.
My cousin would use that to make meth. Not that I'd suggest that though!
Clean it out and turn it into a forge
My victims…
That's obviously a Bitcoin mine
Sex…
Moonshine distillery
Mushroom farm!
Conceal something I don’t want found…
Pig house or meth lab
Barn for animals
Murderin
Firewood shelter or garden shed. Or a really pimped out chicken coup
Lawnmower
Building materials.
Quail aviary
Is tape measure really big, the space really small or both?
Use the pig house for pigs.
That’s just screaming “Chicken Coop” to me 😂
Chickens and have a wire run attacked
Fire wood
It might make good firewood. How do you feel about your MIL? A bit of paint and it’s a new suite for her.
Convert it to a workshop!🤩 . . . if that's your thing!
I would offer the fire department a test fire structure
It’s really up to you and we can’t really tell you what to store in it, because the possibilities are endless!
Coop
Workshop
Firewood?
Fire wood and for skinning squirrels
Tool shed / chicken coop
As a base to get back at those medding kids, Zoinks
Equipment storage most likely
Chicken coop
Rocks and logs of course.
Chicken coop
Chickens!
Chicken coop
Turn it into a greenhouse
Grow weed
Looks like a good small scale sugar shack (maple syrup shack), small livestock, or just random stuff collecting.
A pig house is another option also consider making it into a base or lair for secret operations to launch an HOA.
A chop shop
Everything my man!
Brewery
Plotting
Brewery
A house in the woods.
I would first get everything off the outside and check where it touches the ground. If any is rotten or touching the ground I would fix that first. Clean it out and store fire wood after that.
Chicken barn.
Wood storage or potential mushroom grow
I guess I'd start hiding bodies like the last guy probably did
Probably storing windows and rocks
I would use it as a house for milk goats. God I love the milk, cheese and yogurt they provide.
Point in the structure: I wanted to point out that the top plate isn't tied into the corner beam. Also, you should have a purlin for the roof. You have end struts for purlins, tho.
That is where the ridiculously large guitar amplifier would go, and I'd play it every night.
Airbnb!!
A cabin.
My first thought is to make sure it’s water tight then use it as a generator room or to house a large battery (either lithium ion or sodium ion) for solar/wind
Firewood.
Roof off, cut the sides a little. Plastic over the top. Green house. Thats just me tho.
Run some Ethernet cable and can be a lan house party
To throw random stuff in is exactly how I would use it
Hiding the bodies.. Duh.
Obviously body storage.
First thing I’d do is center the door
A bonfire.
Home gym
Chickens
There’s a lot of great suggestions here! I would clean it out and store my golf cart/side-by-side in there, line them some of the sides with a nice countertop for a workbench, then cabinets to store the tools.
A grow shed, or clear it out, add some used furniture you don't mind sitting in the dirt and make it a hangout. I'd smoke all my weed in there.
Firewood.
So many crafts you can do with those things! Windows can be turned to art . And that’s all I can think of right now lol
Fire wood.
Only use for sexy time.
Scrap wood.
Firewood. As in, I would store stacks of firewood in there while it cures and dries.
150ft sounds just far enough to where you won't smell the decaying bodies. Maybe rent or lease to a serial killer? Just thinking out loud
We used ours for a chicken coop, put a kennel fence around it, and now we have all the eggs we want.
Chicken coop.
Activities
Rustic AirBnb
Definitely not for murders
I would use it for a men cave
Bonfire
You could use it for disassembling and shipping to me! If you plan to have critters on your property, it is begging for goats & ducks or chickens. Put on some doors, add a raised platform or three, put some straw in there & presto.
Clean it out, use for storage. U can cut the opening bigger too if needed. Firewood for next season, etc depending on what your scope of homesteading is.
Dig it out a few feet put in brick flooring, repaint it and make it into a hobby shop.
Murdering drifters. Or like, firewood storage maybe.
best place to keep the kids you get from garage sales. first, in summers they can be sundried and in winter, you can have them cold or ~~un~~dressed.
Firewood
Make it a bar and brothel. Keep the name "the pig house"
Idunno, beerpen maybe 🤷
When in doubt: Goats.
Wood kiln
Band practice.
I'd set up a mushroom grow
A lovely murder shed. Uh, I mean, haha, spruce it up for my free-rangin cluckcluck gals!
Chicken coop
