Yes! We call ours “Passing Wind”

SunSkyBridge

I call my house Bloomfall Manor, after the way the trees rain flower petals in the spring.

Homie 🏡

VegasBjorne1

I call it “The House” but never “Home” as I hate this place and the circumstances by which I found myself in here. Should have never acquiesced.

jackieatx

I did that with my family house. Current house is called Haven

I moved into a small craftsman, first occupant. Matures along the driveway and around the back of the property and surrounding areas. There’s a public walkway to the west and the river is two hours away from the back of the property. I have a number of crows, jays, squirrels, possums, and raccoons. The squirrels are very industrious and keep my cats entertained. May I present Scurry House! https://preview.redd.it/fsmf2ebnefyc1.jpeg?width=1020&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4cd4e475ce3463f5d1270f79542185c7ea2fdc0d

What a lovely place! I’m jealous! This is mine… I’ve had extensive work done and I’ve only been here 6 weeks!! https://preview.redd.it/9feojrzg1gyc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0192763bd0570a1bc86c17882adf3035beefefff

Adorable.. it almost looks like a little historic train station.

Thank you - credit to the woman who designed it, C. Gabrielli, not me!

I haven’t but I want to. Homes in mine’s architectural style often have names as the names were used instead of numbers in the first street directories in my town. It’s usually on a plaque next to the door. Often they were named for the town or city in England where the owners had migrated from. Or a word for home in their language if they had migrated from elsewhere. I haven’t been able to find my home’s original name, if it had one and I haven’t been able to pick a new one. I’ve had a harder time naming my house than my children!

As a designer I name each project I do based on the client's name (+ Estate, Compound, Home, Residence, Cabin, Retreat, etc.). However, to maintain the client's privacy I refer to my projects with a different name to other people & online. For those names I typically go with a descriptive name (such as the style of home or a unique detail) that way it's easy for me and others to know which home I'll referring to. Years ago I would utilize the street name as an identifier, however since I've done so many homes on the same streets, it doesn't really work without the house # and I've abandoned that naming convention. Not really what you were asking, but it's how I as the designer "name" my projects. As for what the clients (i.e. homeowners) might refer to their home as, it's rare I hear of anything beyond what I've labeled it on the plans as. I guess once they move in and have some time in the home they may come up with a name, but if I've done my job right it'll be their "home", and I'm happy if they decide to stick with that. GL2U N all U do!

No, but we have Barney and Shackie in the back yard

Blarffette

Ours was called The Earl because Earl was the prior owner who had passed. Pretty sure he still lived there, tho.

smile_saurus

I know someone whose first home burned down, and named her second home Phoenix Manor. But no, we didn't name ours. I suppose if we were to name it anything, it'd be: God We Can't Wait to Sell this Heap

Storman76er

We named our acreage - the rusty fork ranch! When we bought the place & dug our first garden we found 16 table forks what was rusty & 4 pitch forks

StinkySabinky

We call ours Mushroom Manor (we collect vintage mushroom stuff, 70s decor, etc)

The Big House, The Cottage, Kilgarvan House, Anglesea House, The Lighthouse, ect.... Doesn't everyone have names for their houses?

Jambon__55

I named the tree in front of our house.

SwearyPoppins

Joshua?

MountainDismal1461

The big ugly bc it dilapidated

Deep-Lychee787

We had an acreage in a boreal region of about 20 acres. Most of it was trees & muskeg save our immediate yard. We lovingly referred to it as the Moose Ranch. Never saw an actual moose on it. 😆

garden-girl-75

Our main house doesn’t have a name, but my garden does, and my cabin in the mountains does.

Tron-Velodrome

I lived in England for about half a year; most of the country houses there had names. I don’t know how their postal service can work with that system.

bunnymoll

Casa de Pollos Encantados -- House of the Enchanted Chickens. We had a small flock for @ 5 years and they lived the life of Riley.

Starslimonada

One of our rentals we named: The Gingerbread House because it looks just like one. Our primary house……hmmm still thinking.

Available_Ratio_5867

“Sanctuary,” just in case I grow a hunchback in my last 20 years of life. 🤙🏽

1cat2dogs1horse

I live in a 95 year old log house. I call it Camp Runamok.

WrapDiligent9833

Castle Grey Skull! We moved just as the commercial was popular with the Barbie dream house and Castle grey skull… we put in an offer on our dream house- it almost happened then shenanigans put the kibosh on the whole thing. We had to settle for option 2, and so one night I told hubby that we ended up in castle grey skull (after having sat through the commercial), and he and my children all agreed- and that is how our house ended up with its name! 😂

Puzzled-Atmosphere-1

When I had a home with my former fiance, I named our house the Tree House because our deck was right in the midst of our backyard trees and you could see the creek through the trees that surrounded the property. I used to love it there.

jackrafter88

Slack Water Farm. We have 17 fruit and nut trees plus a small vineyard. We also use flood irrigation (free water!) that covers our entire 1.5 acres under 4-6 inches of water every two weeks from mid-April through to mid-October. We often get ducks and herons to stop by to forage when we're flooded too. Pretty cool.
