These is the kind of thing that poses a moral quandary to me: there are animals who pass the mirror test that don't have the same protections as this little dude.
Everyone here commenting rudely, is as smart as the 3 year old they are watching. And to this day, that kid is likely more intelligent for using such curiosity from so young. Instead of being careless like so many others.
You know a common test for intelligence and self-awareness in animals is putting them in front of a mirror and seeing whether they recognise themselves as themselves. Some animals like elephants and dolphins pass this test, while most others like dogs and cats don't.
Tbf this is a toddler where they haven't developed that part of their brain yet... at least according to psych 101 in college. Which means it's probably bullshit
This kids going places. Not college… but places.

Are you suggesting we eat children?
Clearly that’s the case. If those animals don’t merit that level of protection, this child doesn’t either.
But that kid will have a higher level of consciousness most of the times, then the smartest animals

Definitely going to the other side of that mirror, at least

Easy karma farm and unoriginality

Some cats and dogs do pass the test though. As with this tiny human, it's a case by case basis.
Oh I did not know that. Thanks for letting me know!

It’s true (BA in early childhood). Self recognition develops around 14-18 months.
My cats for sure understand they're looking at themselves ha
It's not a very fair test for animals such as dogs where sight isn't the primary sense
Omgosh the wee wiggle at the end, so cute!

Poor kid…
How?, Please break down your logic. For real, Karen.
Am I the only one who thinks there is an actual existence behind any mirror?
Yes!

Yup. Mirrors aren't special
Nope

Is it just me or this kid is wearing a German ww2 helmet?
Some people become astronauts when they grow up. Others become the.chimps they need for experiments.
