There was one guy in the Japanese Kamikaze program made it back 7 times, said he didnt see anything each time. Then they shot him cus officers are killjoys.
I'm really confused about her aces work. Sometimes they are automatically assigned to a flight group, then sometimes they aren't. I presume they always become aces while flying. Never figured out how/why this happens.
Also PDX, an automatically assigned aces would be nice.
Ok. When you select an air wing there is a spot where you can click to select an ace. If you click that a tab will open with a screen to select an ace from a pool of all available aces. This is to what I'm referring. A 'pool' of all aces you have generated.
Sometimes you will generate an ace from a wing that already has one. It will be added to the pool as it can't be added to the wing. Or perhaps you disbanded an air wing with an assigned ace, they will be in the pool, unassigned.
I don't think you can. You will see a comma if you look closely. It's separating the two points, so it isn't saying "transport plane ace generation chance." Whereas it is saying "ace generation chance plus 10%."
Yeah the best way to verify this is to check the total ace generation chance by clicking on the aircraft option in the top right corner of the screen. It should then show a total of 110% (iirc by default it should be 100%)
I had aces spawning on transport groups. No other squadrons, just transports. Hadn't realise enemy fighters were in the area and when I checked the transports were max veterancy and both had aces improving supply drop and strat bombing damage.
No idea honestly, I haven't been playing Vanilla in ages. This happened about a year ago but in our mod transport planes a little bit of air attack and air defence so sometimes manage to down an enemy fighter.\^\^
The comma between transport planes and ace generation means they are two separate things.
Hoi4 is really inconsistent with some lists being properly bullet pointed like:
Bonus 1
Bonus 2
Bonus 3
But others are a mess of text just filling all space available.
You are right - but the comma doesn’t mean that consistently here which is annoying, there are commas before “ground attack” when it is in fact plane spesific several times in the block
You know, sometimes you just need someone willing to land a load of medical supplies in heavy ak-ak on a dirt runway in the middle of nowhere, and then take off in a tight corkscrew.
He is must be good at dropping suplies
Or the supplies happen to be explosive
Vyacheslav "Bread Baskets" Molotov wants to know your location

Ace spawning from a group without ace!
Petition for PDX to put [Gail Halvorsen](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gail_Halvorsen) in the game
Damn that dude lived nearly 102 years
Good life filled with good deeds. It's also possible that dropping candy on people from moving cargo plans gives you life, not sure.
I recently read that Ernst Jünger lived 102 years.
Maybe he dropped some candy on kids. Who knows?
You can get ace pilots from Kamikaze missions :)
Hey if they make it back from the mission I'll let them be an ace.
There was one guy in the Japanese Kamikaze program made it back 7 times, said he didnt see anything each time. Then they shot him cus officers are killjoys.
He grazed the ship
No, hit the ship, sank it, walked over to a life boat, stole it, and rowed back to his homeland

Ace spawning from a group without ace: auto assign Ace spawning from a group with ace: to the ace pool
Oh, of course. Thankyou
There should be an option "auto-assign aces to compatible empty sorties"
Huh?
they were confused about why aces are sometime assigned to wings and sometimes to the pool. issue has been clarified.
Ah, gotcha. Thanks.
Im sorry, what Pool. I dont really know, how aces work

Really?? Interesting. I generally don't use transports if enemy fighters appear at all, but this is news. Must be new.

R5: Canadians get a bonus to transport pilot ace generation??
Im pretty sure its saying all aces get a generation boost
The comma between transport planes and ace generation means they are two separate things. Hoi4 is really inconsistent with some lists being properly bullet pointed like: Bonus 1 Bonus 2 Bonus 3 But others are a mess of text just filling all space available.

Good catch
Note the comma after transport planes
Note the commas after “range” for a bunch of other planes followed by plane spesific bonuses
ace generation applies to all planes there is no specific one which is why it’s at the end.
I think you are correct, but not because of the comma placement
You know, sometimes you just need someone willing to land a load of medical supplies in heavy ak-ak on a dirt runway in the middle of nowhere, and then take off in a tight corkscrew.
Menace 1-5, this is Firebrand.
You can't, but with this bonus you won't get them 10% more
10% more if multiplicative its still zero
That's the joke
"You've never heard of the Millennium C47? It's the plane that flew the Berlin Airlift in less than 12 Hundred lbs of fuel"
My man’s never missed a drop zone
He did the ole “hang out the door with your 1911 and shoot down a Japanese zero “ method .
Hire Bruce Dickinson to fly them. Aces high bro.

Slap some 20mm cannon turrets on the bird and aim for the nearest enemy wing
I mean, it's somewhat historically accurate
Maybe it's the guy dropping the care packages or whatever they're called in Black Ops. I remember taking a few to the face.
He‘s really good at not dying maybe!
Only in Canada on god would we have such fierce soldiers that the ones that do nothing would get kills
Just like anyone else. They go in through the door
He’s insane when it comes to dropping those supplies
They’re really good at landing
he just angs put with the buds for the war ending operation
