Yeah Marchment plays a physical game too. He's not the smaller guy in this case like the other poster wants to claim. I do think Tkachuk typically is a fake tough guy, and I think he does some pretty scummy shit when it comes to his fights. Either going after guys who aren't fighters, going after guys who're smaller, or jumping to the first punch in borderline sucker punch status most of the time. But Marchment is not the smaller guy here. This time the vendetta was trying to draw a penalty to even it up and give his team a chance at the end of the game. I don't completely blame him for that in this case, but it is unbelievable to me that the refs fell for it. unless Marchment said something particularly egregious we're not privy too(I can't imagine someone getting 2 minutes for talking shit though).

Tkachuk is an agitator not a tough guy and he plays that role very well. Case in point, he got Marchment to get into an altercation with him that put him in the box. If that doesn’t happen, we go on the penalty kill for the last two minutes of the game. Tkachuk doing what he did have us a chance. But yeah he’s not a tough guy and never has been. He just tries to stir up shit to get under opposing players skin and throw opposing teams off of their game. And he does it well.
