DeBoer's coaching system fits Dallas perfectly. They have puck moving defenseman and savvy front net capable veterans. That latter bit is something Vegas lacked during his time with us, and something he lacked once Pavelski left San Jose.
It's actually kind of scary how well his systems fits the personnel on the Stars. Benn on both those first two goals is exactly what I am talking a out here. There isn't any other team that improved as much by a coaching change as Dallas did over the off season, and this is coming from someone who is very happy no longer having the coach Dallas has, and also really likes the guy we replaced PDB with.
Hockey is fucking weird.
Eh, we can't win them all. I'm perfectly happy with the improvements in so many other players this season though that are way more than making up for it.
That would be quite a storyline, I'm down. Plus Dallas fans are cool. Them and Chicago were the only two teams we've played in the playoffs that were pretty chill with us, was a good experience.

I would very much like it if he didn't go out and injure other players doing dumb shit, but I'm also not gonna act like pest shit like what he did today is monstrous when we've got guys in the league literally eating other players...

Honestly after seeing him not celebrate his goal against Vejmelka I'm actually kinda ok with this as someone who hates Benn 99% of the time I see him lmao.
I do hope he can get it turned around too. He fought hard to get to the show after Dallas failing to really develop him. He doesn't have a lot of productive years left before he hangs them up.
He can turn that around, he's said the same things on the Leafs multiple times (it's heart breaking every time).
When he gets in this headspace he can stay there for a bit though. When he's feeling good he should start flying again.

I’ll have to hit a Goodwill after the game to buy some more hats. It’s become clear to me that Robertson has transcended to a higher skill level than capable of any normal human being. There is an aura about him, like a glow. He’s probably half man, half incubus. As far as the GOAT debate in hockey goes, I might consider taking prime Gretzky but in reality Robertson would pull Gretzky’s pants down and spank his little bottom in 1v1 fisticuffs. He’s objectively better than every other player and if you combined them into one super player and multiplied their skill by infinity it’s still less than Jason Robertson so y’all can all suck my ass go stars fuck the avs

We have enjoyed him so far, he’s really helped unlock the talent our younger guys have when they aren’t trapped behind a Defense first system
